We've got the information of real people who purchased the services and products of Vancouver Art Gallery (Museum) near West Vancouver (Canada).
Nowadays the firm gets a rating of 4.5 stars over 5 and that score is based on 25 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is nearly the best one, and it's founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the valuation is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to value when they are satisfied with the business, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to write scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...

I enjoyed a few hours walking through the Gallery, first visit since the pandemic. I particularly enjoyed the works of local artists and reading about their backgrounds and styles. Quite a few videos/animations to compliment the more traditional no tech artworks. Seems the art community would do well making new friends in the IT community haa!
Wonderful art I brought my son to see inside last summer, but most importantly this July 1 we made sure to be apart of the cancel Canada day peaceful protest with speeches and drumming with everyone in orange shirts with a live hip hop performance. Very powerful to be present during this time and thanks for the Vancouver art gallery for allowing this to take place. A vigil was erected on the back of the steps of the gallery and was so sad to see the physical items placed to represent the lost indigenous kids murdered by residential schooling.
This was unfortunately not my favourite art gallery. The whole thing with modern art just does not make sense to me, and just frankly feels somewhere between a cobbled together mess and people just looking for something to do. It is, more often than not, not art to me. They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but unfortunately this one did not hold my attention for too long after I started walking around.
Great. .. only went because Karen was interested in the current exhibit. Boring. Lol. But she did take me out for wings and beer. Problem was we spent 1 hour and 25 minutes at gallery and only 45 at the restaurant...
It’s a good gallery to go to. Reasonable admission fee. We spent about 2 hours and we were contented. If you like art, then this is a must-see.
Nice collection, great for rainy days.
One of the best art galleries in the world. Amazing! I understand that much of what I saw was temporary, so I am very glad I was able to enjoy their offerings. The curators are great! I highly recommend going to this gallery. The Canadian works of art were as nice as the foreign art works.
Lovely Art Gallery to spend a few hours in, however the 1st and 4th floor were closed due to maintenance so only the 2nd and 3rd floor were open to the public. So just be aware when you're buying tickets, maybe call ahead before purchasing your tickets.
Not only is this an incredible Art Gallery always full of fascinating and historic art, but it has a gorgeous brand new area in the front of it off of Georgia. You can sit relaxe, even lay down on grassy patches, with the incredible lion statues! It's also a terrific place for groups to gather for their presentations and speeches!
Don't miss out on this gem if you're visiting. I checked out the Yoko Ono exhibit and it was amazing.
I love this outdoor exhibit site .
The vigil for our residential school children has been up for few seasons now and it's still there. They always need volunteers ????????♀️ to help watch over it.
The art, and screen display is gorgeous
It’s a good place to clear your head and escape.
*I paid for a ticket online for a "tour" and at admission was informed there weren't tours at this time - please be aware of this* The Vancouver Art Gallery was an amazing place that I got to visit during my weekend trip to Vancouver. It was the highlight of my trip to be able to view and sit with so many influential pieces. I went the Sunday after Black Friday at noon and started first on the 2nd floor, 3rd then 1st. By myself I was able to meditate and focus on many pieces, and stroll leisurely. At this time, the 2nd and 3rd floor wasn't busy, but by the time I got to the 1st floor it was packed, and unfortunately I wasnt able to view as many pieces as I would have liked. I would definitely recommend this for any one person or couple/group to visit but imo the artworks deserve so much attention that minimal conversation is best for this experience.
Really glad I got to see this Art Gallery while in Vancouver. Although I did find it rather difficult to find specific pieces in the gallery as every security person did not know about them at all and could not answer questions. There were some neat exhibits and artwork! Save room for lunch/dinner, there is a wonderful food truck park directly behind the art gallery. Good downtown location.
Stunning architecture and lots of interesting art. I highly recommend a visit if you're in town.
Very interesting and variating must see place.
Beautiful place to spend an afternoon. I would highly recommend getting a membership as you not only get unlimited free admission to the gallery, but also 2 free guest passes and discounts at the gift shop. For only a bit more money, it is totally worth it. One little thing though that I found slightly annoying was that the escalator going to the third floor was really squeaky and interfered a little bit with the enjoyment of the art. Other than that, the gallery is very well maintained and the exhibits are always beautiful and engaging!
Street Vancouver Food Truck Festival will be there until Jan 23rd. They have tons of food truck and this is part of Dine Out Vancouver
So well curated. Always a fascinating experience.
Spent a delightful mid week afternoon perusing the many exhibits currently housed at the Art Gallery. The exhibits are always changing!
Great art exhibits. I think one thing that could improve it for me is if there were art exhibit tours, whether delivered by personal interpreters or through audio tours you can get from a QR code. It was my second time visiting this year (first time was in late spring). Unfortunately, each time I visited, the whole first floor was closed for exhibit construction, so I would recommend checking their website to plan your visit better.
(Translated) Very small place where a multitude of things on different subjects are displayed. It must be interesting to go there every time a new exhibition is set up. The term discussed this time seemed to relate to an essential point about the Indian community in Canada. No spoil so I won't say more.
It was a Tuesday night and was busy inside. But the staff were well organized. I enjoyed my time there. Was lucky to get to see art stuff by Yoko Ono. Also was glad they offer by donations on Tuesday after 5pm. ????
Great place, love the art, the price is pretty cheap (Adult $24 Senior $20 Student $18 Children ages 6-12 $6.50 Children 5 and under FREE Gallery Members FREE People with disabilities $24 (includes free admission for one attendant).
Always a great date night place. Always check the site for special events/ exhibitions or free entry. If you're super particular with art curation, I do find that historically, the gallery is not the best at curating watercolour pieces. Other than that, the space is transformative for most mediums! The art gallery also keeps a good private collection which they curate very well alongside any travelling exhibitions that they have.
Always entertaining & Educational. They have some amazing shows from artists Worldwide.
Spent a rainy afternoon enjoying Jan Wade's 'Soul Power' exhibit. Beautiful, political, educational. A must see!
Fascinating Yoko exhibits. Went for a full three hours on Tuesday night. Although a bit perplexed by their definition of “donation”. I’ve always thought donations should be made out of goodwill and (1) not forced upon, (2) have a minimum amount of $5, and (3) have consequences if not made. Other than that, the gallery for what it is was wonderful.
We visited the Yoko Ono exhibit and were so moved by her work. Had lunch in the Bistro cafe and were bowled over by the quality of the food. Unique selection prepared to perfection!

A nice gallery for Canadian art. The permanent exhibit is small though - definitely go when there is a temporary exhibit that you are interested in, and/or on a Tuesday evening when it's pay-by-donation. Also, I went once in the last days of one of the temporary exhibits only to find that it was closed. Even though the posters advertised that the exhibit would close on a specific date, the gallery staff told us that they often close the temporary exhibit a few days before in order to set up the next exhibit. Keep that in mind when visiting.
Do not waste your time or money here. As someone who loves art and loves galleries I was shocked by how underwhelming it was. I’ve been to art galleries all across the country and the world and I’ve never had a disappointing experience until today. I’m here on a trip and wish I could take back the afternoon I wasted. Not to mention I paid full price entry and only level 2 & 3 were even open. There was also barely any art on display. The security was unnecessarily aggressive as well. All in all a terrible experience. I’ve never felt compelled to write a negative google review before until now.
really enjoyed the Yoko Ono exhibit here. Went on a Tuesday night where it was entry by donation and that worked out nicely as I only had about an hour or so to go through it all. Very nicely laid out and so much information about the pair. I loved how interactive the exhibit was and it allowed you to think and be creative too! If I had more time I would have checked out the other two floors. I will do that on my next visit for sure
go see some art! 3 floors with new beautiful art from so many wonderful creative people
Excellent service, unique experience, reasonable price, safe and clean. Could use more classics and clearer chronological order.
What? Paper log house? That's something else!
My wife and are visited the Gallery for the first time in many years. There was an Emily Carr exhibit along with various other local artists. We are trying to expand our Art experience by admiring the various mediums used by the artists. I was not able to relate to a few of the displays though we did enjoy the overall experience. We took out a family membership and look forward to seeing more exhibits.
Come tue after 4pm. Donation is $5.. pretty good deal. Learn Lots from the artist. Their understanding of art and the rationale behind. Definitely a good and convenient place to learn N enjoy
I happened to visit the exhibition of Cindy Sherman and was shocked by her insight of photography. The quote from Cindy Sherman: I wanted pretty pictures of older women - women who are trying too hard but succeeding - pulling off an extreme look. What I didn't know would creep into the portraits was a vulnerability behind the strong facade that most of them wear.
Perfect to visit on a rainy day. Fairly large collection of contemporary art. Exhibitions change often so you can go back and check it out. Try to walk or take transit since finding parking is difficult and expensive.
The Vancouver Art Gallery continues to present very creative, informative, artistic events …the staff spotlight a wide range of interesting art exhibitions with local, national and worldwide artists.. it’s so easy to move from room to room..this occasion our attention was directed to the Yoko Ono and the From The Earth exhibits…there is always plenty of seating available for reflection..
Cool features of modern art
During pride..thank you for all the love Vancouver!
Very fascinating and diverse artworks in a architecturally stunning building. Really appreciate the inclusion of Asian, indigenous and black artworks. There was also a vigil being held outside for the children who fell victim to residential schools.
After the shock of the admission fee* we delighted in the beautiful exhibits and superb Yoko Ono interactive. A late, wet Monday afternoon low visitor count added to the experience... *we're used to London "voluntary contribution" museum/gallery admission.
I went there on Tuesday night at 5 PM when the time for admission only with donation. This program is every Tuesday 5-8 PM. It was a good experience. At that time the one of the exhibition was John Lennon and Yoko Ono on the first floor. The other exhibitions on the second and third floors were also amazing.
Much to improve. Maybe it's a post pandemic effect, but I was very disappointed with the collection and the exhibitions. I understand that it might not have as many pieces as the Art Gallery of Ontario, but there is no excuse for poorly …
My 1st experience and definetely not my last! I am so grateful, that I was able to see the Cindy Sherman exhibition. The other floors were also amazing with Canadian indigenous artwork, and works by Emily Car.
Beautiful art, I had a blast when I came im February. Luckily they check jackets for you so you don't need to walk around with it. Also if you have a chance to check out the gift shop there are many items with the guest artist art on it. Check out my pictures with the colorful art.
It’s a great place to visit in Vancouver for sure.
Great pieces to make you think.
Love the multiple exhibitions. Always a great time here :) The Yoko Ono one particularly stood out. On display: Yoko Ono + Jane Wade: Soul Power + Edith Heath and Emily Care: From the Earth + Vancouver Special: Disorientations and Echo.
Good place for modern arts but not too many to watch
An Indigenous artist is responsible for creating this powerful memorial on the steps of the Vancouver Art Gallery, honouring the 215 children whose remains were discovered on the grounds of a former residential school in Kamloops, B.C
Went on donation Tuesdays, and was impressed by the insightful expositions (Yoko Ono and John Lennon's exposition is a must see!) beautiful facilities. I especially likes the interactive art... Will visit again with the kids when I have the chance...
I went to the Murakami exhibit and it was really amazing to see his work in person. It is unbelievable that his pieces were painted. They almost looked like prints. The art gallery always brings in the best of the best exhibitions. It is …
Our beloved local gallery continues to be a local institution. They could do more to bring in a wider array of art imo. I love modern and conceptual art for sure, but when the entire gallery is filled with cerebral contemplative pieces and installations it gets a little rote. I felt bad for the kids in there who seemed bored and lost and could not connect with anything in front of their eyes.
IS ❤ OK HAPPND TODAY IF YOU HAVE FAITH
$25 admission and the museum is basically empty. Lots and lots of space for each piece. Two of four floors were totally closed out of four and they still charged his full price. Do not waste time here.
Good views and lots to do around here
On Tuesdays, admission is by donation, so you can come for $5 or more. Be sure to buy your tickets in advance online since entry is timed and also limited. You can buy at the door, but by the time I arrived, they were sold out for the night so they weren't letting people in if they hadn't purchased online. It was raining but the wait outside wasn't long. They provide umbrella bags for your wet umbrellas. There are QR codes for audio portions but for the most part you just walk around I dependently. There were some interactive portions like writing a wish on a card to hang on the leaf of a plant, gluing together string and plate shards, or stamping a map. If you are a fan of John Lennon & Yoko Ono, now would be the time to come since they have a bed-in exhibit. I particularly enjoyed the large mural by James Harry & Lauren Brevner. In terms of accessibility, there were a few places to sit but not everywhere. The washrooms, parkings, and exhibits all seemed to be wheelchair accessible. Everyone was wearing masks and it wasn't overcrowded as the gallery was controlling capacity. It felt like an enjoyable and COVID-safe Tuesday evening activity. Parking downtown is very difficult and there are a lot of one-way roads and construction. We managed to find the cheapest and most convenient parking after 6pm right under Robson Square! The entrance is at Nelson & Howe. Drive up Howe from Georgia towards Nelson. Right before Nelson, on the right side is the parking entrance. It's not super obvious so keep an eye out! It's a flat rate of $6 after 6pm on weekdays. We were late and missed our 5pm timed entrance due to parking, and they kindly let us in after 6:30 regardless of the time of our tickets, which we were quite thankful for. I most enjoyed seeing Emily Carr's works of art in front of me. This isn't as big of a gallery as I was expecting, but that's because some portions were closed off. In that regard, I'm happy to have gone on the donation day. I may not have been as happy with the full price of admission with their current collection size versus other what you can see or do at other paid activities in dowtown Vancouver.
ATTENTION! Google maps leads the wrong way and gives wrong opening hours. My friend and me walked way too far, not to the museum but to a panel that referred to the museum and also too late for the museum to be opened. I would have loved to visit it, but I'll just go next time, to the right place and during the right time.
2 stars and I hate to click on it but i was so disappointed by the Art Gallery. The price is so expensive for the little there is to see (only two small floors). 25$ for 30min... Ugh. The Yoko Ono exposition was closed, I don't know if the price included this access when its open... If it's the case, fine, but it would have been cool to be advised or the price being revised. If not, I think it's too expensive if I compare with other museums I've done all around the world. ???? Otherwise, staff was kind!
The gift shop has good selections of artistic products that can be great gifts for people of all ages. Members discount of 20% is going in right now.
Beautiful Gallery, well set up, and although I've never been prior to covid the way they have it set up now looks like it was always meant to be. Good layout.
Any review of art is subjective, of course but I was a bit underwhelmed with this gallery for the price of admission - it seems to lack permanent collection exhibits. Many of the galleries on Granville island were more engaging. There was an Emily Carr exhibit (along with Heath ceramics) that was cool, but if the other exhibits don't speak to you you can get through the entire place in under 60 minutes. Definitely check their website for what's on before going.
Located on the Robson street side of the Art Gallery. Great displays of beautiful colours! All lit up in the dark at night. My husband took me here as a surprise. Very cool ! The fire spewing dragons were awesome to see.
A lovely art gallery in downtown Vancouver! They keep the place very clean and open with limited number of visits per day and time slot, making it very safe to visit during COVID. I truly enjoyed my visit here.
Having been multiple times over the past decade, I will just say this: it's best feature is that it is not gigantic. Everything that is on display is intentional and there's no room for exhaustion by the end.
Lots of areas closed right now. Not much material for the price.
I love going to the Vancouver Art Gallery. I didn't feel very well this time but we were able to go to the second floor for one of the Out For Lunch Concerts. Classical music by a very competent quartet. …
Beautiful Building which used to be the Old Provincial Court House. In the winter they decorate a beautiful Christmas Tree here.
A ticket is $24. You can buy it online and duration of your visit is 1 1/2. Usually it gives you a chance to visit 3-4 exhibitions. Visit Yoko Ono’s “Imagine peace”. Jan 2022
Really a great place to visit on a regular basis. IMO an annual membership for local art fans is a must. I've already gone twice in the last month!
Always recommend visiting the Gallery on a Tuesday when you are looking for something to do. There are always some great exhibits and the entry is free on Tuesday. The staff are quite helpful as well. I really feel that the Gallery doesn’t get enough credit.
They have some amazing exhibits, cool building. Great spot to people watch.
I don't understand how it can so many positive reviews. Have the people that posted ever been to a real art gallery / museum? I saw more interesting art on Gabriola island. This insipid shallow nonsense is on display in the downtown of a world class city??
Many art galleries in Canada have turned into big businesses intent on making as much money out of an exhibition as possible. Vancouver Art Gallery uses its clout and location to bring in exhibitions that attract larger crowds to ensure a larger income. The entrance fee at 25 dollars is outrageous, even more so because the exhibition space is not large enough to justify it and what's on exhibit, even less so. While there are price incentives for locals, such as becoming members, visitors from out of town are left with little choice but to pay the full price of admission. I don't regret visiting, but I expected better.
The gallery itself isn't incredible compared to great art galleries in Paris, the National Gallery in London or Viennas Museumsquartier, but the architecture of the building ist fine and the atmosphere around is great. I highly recommend to visit in spring or summer to enjoy coffee in the beautiful area in the front of the building!
Went in for the gift shop to pick up some Hanukkah gifts. Great gift shop albeit a bit pricey. The art gallery is in a lovely building and has wonderful exhibits. Used to be the old courthouse
Right downtown & usually hosting outdoor events on the steps...
Always has fantastic exhibits. A real gem on downtown's main artery.
I really love the amount of thought that goes into the curation of pieces. It's clear that the layout of the gallery and content of each exhibit are carefully considered when designing for movement through the spaces.
Got my membership recently and went to the exhibition by Sun Xun - Mythological Time and Rebellious Bone, a young Chinese artist. The collections are from diversified artists. Arts from another talented Chinese artist, Gu Xiong, were displayed as well. Love the First Nation carvings. Good place to spend time if you are into arts.
I went today art gallery.we called they did not tell directions correctly. We are wasting 30 min outside on road.its showing opening on website recipnst desk no one picking us call.we asked outside to people for main door.we did not know.inside we just click photos securities follow us . You can not click photos. We can not click photos closed gallery parmanet. I never give any suggestions to go over there wasting money.other thing i booked tickets when i saw website inside photos its beautiful but there was nothing like thats.its makes people fool .from website rip off photos there is nothing like inside.terrible experience ????terrible place nothing????????????????????????
Great visit to the museum! So fun with all the hands on experiences and Yoko Ono and John
It is ok but could be 1000 times better. Best day to go is in a Tuesday where you can enter by donation. Not lying the entire 25 dlls per ticket. I liked the exhibition of high culture that is ok now. Sadly won't last too long. Impressive creations.
great way to spend a rainy day indoors. the yoko ono exhibit was on when we went for a visit
Nice artwork
Cowessess residential school that I went to.... Had the most beloved , not forgotten babies that were found in Canada that is...751 ....that is a horrific number......
A small free outdoor art gallery that changes throughout the year. Sometime you can walk through the art and other times not but you can always look at it as you walk by.
