It was very informative, I learned where the name Tesla came from, lol.

Julietta

I've lived in the Falls area my whole life and never once went here. Really enjoyed reading about the history of the plant that one stood here, and it's weird seeing pieces of it still laying around in the gorge.

Richie B

Fun Place!

Tess Murdock

If you've never been to Niagara Falls before then this is the place to start your journey! The staff were very friendly and helpful. But, more than that, the exhibits offer visitors an insightful prespective concerning the geology of the area. The forces that continue to create Niagara Falls are a very recent phenomenon in geological terms; a product of the retreat of the last Ice Age. It is refreshing to see an attraction that actually offered some meaningful education before my children got caught up in all the crap on Clifton Hill and all the other tourist traps Niagara Falls USA and Canada offers.

Karen Kleckner

These are the same exhibits that were there 20 years ago! They are broken and faded now. Very sad. This used to be free, but now there is a charge. Not worth the money. Skip it.

Patil In America

Wow!!! You can use the discovery pass to enter the aquarium. They have tons of marine species, best marine life to watch is jelly fish, sea lion show and penguin feeding. Find the right appropriate times and watch the shows there. It’s amazing.

Teju Olawumi

The historical movie was good.

Marie Roberts

Rob Fischer

This is the secret to free parking at Niagara Falls. Come early, get the Discovery Pass. Highly recommend doing Cave of the Winds first and getting the free sandals to keep for Maid of the Mist.

Brandy Green

Definitely didnt know there was an elevator that takes you down and brings you up to the top. Pretty sweet

Lisa Cheng

The center has an administration fee. Free parking. Nice landscape and gardening. Has a short trail(1.2mile?) and the trial head looks very attractive (has a bridge!). Has public restroom. sells the trolley ticket here. Located at the South of the Whirlpool Park and North of the Goat Island. Good starting point.

saranya sampat

Not a great location

Foxtrot2050

Feels dated, enjoyed the information and was very nice but kids and myself lost interest quickly.

Jon Saylor

Most of the interactive displays weren't working. Good information, could be more up to date.

Donna Gifford

Informative.

The best part is the self guided tour of the gorge, very cool and free. The Discovery Center is fine for $3 but there isn't much there.

Nirmal Kumar

Very good place, the people ran it were very friendly! You have a nice view of the falls from here and you can take the trolley from this location right down to the falls and other part of the tourist places.

I don’t even know how many times I have been here. I wish I could fly my drone and eat some cool shots. I wish they had some place where one could take permission to fly drone here.

Good to see

Mohan Kakarla

Nothing exciting to see here. Better skip this place if you are in tighter schedule.

Melissa

Boring. The front staff was not very friendly and everything was outdated. Skip it. Next to the gorge is a brick building and you can descend down to the gorge for free.....see pictures :)

Kimberly Pawaskar

Dated and didn't really hold anyone's interest long.

Great location for picnics, hiking and biking. You can see Niagara Falls from a distance and a tour helicopter takes off and lands near ny making it that much more dramatic and adds some excitement. The Discovery Center itself needs to be open more often so definitely call if you plan on going inside for a history tour.

Brayan Delgado

Nice place but you can tell it's on a slow decline. The displays need some serious love and attention. The people are very friendly!

Tourist Trap. And not in a good way.

Sam Wade

I didn't really dislike it... but it is really dated and if it wasn't included with the discovery pass I would not have paid to go in.

Christopher Baldwin

Nothing to really discover here. Dying location. The only thing keeping Niagara falls alive is the falls that being said the maid of the mist and cave of the winds was really the best parts

Joshy Nadz

Great attractive place to get started to pick up ur brochure and trolley passes

Ramblyn Rose

Awesome place.

Srinivasa Raju K

Most of the interactive exhibits in the centre were not working. A documentary is shown on a very small screen by a DVD player.

Dirty, smelly, boring

Its nice center collection of history and discovers around Niagara. It is worth visiting this place for some time.

Mike M

Cool place and neat place to check out the history of the area and Falls.

Nice place to visit with short movie about Niagara and small exhibits. Admission was part of the pass but otherwise probably not worth paying by itself.

Visiting Niagara Falls was absolutely fantastic. We parked at the Discovery Center and it was free. We got there before the trolley started operating but it ended up being a super short walk to see the smaller part of the falls. Due to time constraints we weren't able to visit the longer horseshoe part of the falls. We were told that was a much longer walk. Highly recommended visit!

Bob Harms

It took 52 years to get my honey to the destination of her dreams...we parked our RV on goat Island and spent the day on the bus dropping off to view the beauty and natural wonder you have to see to appreciate...dont wait 52 years guys I have a patient woman, on ed of a kind beauty...like the Falls

Exceptionally amiable, aesthetically pleasing, and one of the world's best eco-friendly locations situated in Niagara Falls, NY on the American side of Niagara Falls. Offers an excellent vacation spot for all vacationers and is undoubtedly one of the most relaxing and delightful getaway locations to escape from the monotonous workaday life that one inevitably has to go back to.

Any questions about attractions in the Niagara Falls? Then this is the place you wanna go!! Free parking and for $3 you can be driven by the numerous trolley buses from place to place all day. They have discounted packages you can buy and the center houses a ton of history about the area, including a 20 minute history channel movie for a small fee. Great views & a walking bridge to the Aquarium (instead of parking fee at their lot, park here free & walk over!

Somewhat dated, but the displays were informative, covering the major historical themes of Niagara including power generation and local geology. The depth of information was pretty limited, aimed perhaps at a middle school level. The short (20 min) History Channel produced film was informative regarding development of the area as a tourist attraction over the last few hundred years. Some of the interactive displays were broken when we visited, and the parking lot was completely closed for construction (park at the aquarium and walk over), which also greatly limited the outdoor access around the facility.

Pupper Smoker

Liked the info but is very small and some/most buttons and interactive displays are not working. Friendly staff. Nice trail info. The best thing was the elevator to the gorge which i believe is free and separate from this place but is advertised by the staff.

MOBBED!! If you can't find parking on Goat Island prepare to be scalped...and be prepared to spend most of your day waiting in packed lines. On hot days it seems many visitors from abroad aren't accustomed to using deodorant, so be prepared for that too.

Are real Hidden Gem. Well worth the few dollar donation. Lots of interesting information that you never knew the best part is the elevator down to the gorge on the outside of the museum Center. Once you're down into the Gorge all the information in the Discovery Center starts to make sense. Very unique well worth the time to stop. Parking can be challenging but there is a bigger lot across the access Bridge. But please hire somebody with a weed wacker.

Besides the Discovery Center there is an elevator where great, unique views await at the bottom. Taking the elevator down to the water and looking up at the remains of the old power plants that used to be along the Niagara River ages ago is really cool. The stone walls and intakes are still visible. The maid of the mist boats are stored on the platform at the base of the elevator in winter but in summer you're able to walk in that area and view the river and the Rainbow Bridge from below. There's a small hiking trail that takes you along the Niagara river a short distance. There's another much longer hiking trail from the bottom that takes you along the gorge to the top. Or you can just take the elevator back up top.

Only 3$ admission but it is a small building. Great if you want to see the history of how the falls came to be, types of rocks, etc. Nice stop if you're exploring. Across from the aquarium via a bridge and about a mile walk to the falls and prospect point.
