One of the best museums I have visited anywhere ever. The Johnson family shares their history and artifacts with great generosity to the public. I was in awe to stand before the regalia and feel the power of these pieces wash over me. You can stand inside a tiny trappers cabin and imagine wintering in such a space. George Johnson's car is immaculate after decades of service in the north. The complex mixing of cultures, both Tlingit and European, had me question my assumptions in powerful ways. Do not miss this stop on the highway, and give it the time it deserves!

This is a very small museum featuring George Johnston. He purchased a new 1928 car and had it ferried to him even though he lived where there were no roads. Stop here to find out how he used his car.

The museum has been beautifully redesigned. With this facility, Teslin is punching far above its weight now.
