You have all the reviews of real people who are using the services and products of Big Nickel (Museum) in the area close to Sudbury (Canada).
Currently the business receives a score of 4.5 out of 5 and this score has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, the average of ratings that it reaches is practically the top, and it is founded on a large number of reviews, so we can say that the valuation is very accurate. If many people have bothered to rate when they are satisfied, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to give evaluations when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Museum is included in the category of Museum.

Something special! Got a small and well managed science center too.

Its a good stop for some funny pictures on your drive.... dont go just for that..lol

The nickel is there, but the museum is closed! Change the signage!

A bit disappointed as I had always thought the big nickle was a giant nickle cast in one piece, I honestly wish I hadn't visited and allowed my illusions to continue. The area and the view of the nickle foundry are very nice.

Too bad everything was closed due to Covid-19

Really cool place to visit and take some pictures. The view is beautiful from here and the Nickel itself is pretty impressive. Lots of cool information about the landscape and rock formations

Interesting stop. Great photo-ops. Will return to check out Dynamic Earth.

The big nickel is really neat to see. It's not that busy that you can't enjoy checking it out, or even getting some fun photos without people in them. This is on the grounds of Dynamic Earth which is a must visit when you are there!

It's certainly a Big Nickel.

Fun to see and worth a quick stop.

(Translated) There are more interesting things than seeing a dime, honestly. (Original) Il y a des choses plus intérressantes que de voir un cinq sous, honnêtement.

Nice place to visit and take a break.

Apart from the history, i personally wasn't impressed by the Big Nickel. However i took a few pictures. Its a short drive from Downtown so better check it out

Sudbury classic! Worth going out of your way to check out. Replica of a 1951 Canadian Nickel Coin.

It’s okay. You have to see it if you go to Sudbury though.

Excellent Halloween pumpkinfreno

If you are passing through Sudbury, then pay a visit, we were there just after Labor Day and the museum was closed. Not that impressive.

Was good but it was closed. I'm sure that if the building was open we would have enjoyed it more. I think there is an admission.

If the adjoining museum is closed, there is not much to do beyond snapping a photo of the big nickel and crossing it of your to do list in Sudbury.

Stopped in while travelling through, under some type of construction at the time and no lighting for big nickel attraction unfortunately, was also difficult to catch entrance as poor lighting at turn off from main hwy ????

Nice spot good view.

The Dynamic Earth attraction was closed for season due to covid-19 restrictions.

4/5 Could be a bigger nickel.

Nicely developed structure with lots of history to be learnt about the history of this coin.

Great place to stop

Pretty cool place for a picture

This was the only thing I knew about Sudbury before moving here. Great to see it in person. I bring all of our visitors here.

Nice stop in the Sudbury area, a must see if visiting up north. Nice museum adjacent to the Big Nickel. Great photo ops.

Nice place with a decent view of Sudbury.

It's a big nickel, what more is there to it bruv

nice place if you're in the neighborhood

Pretty Big

A must see when visiting Sudbury. Great view.

The actual Museum was closed understandably due to COVID, but the giant nickel was still really neat to see.

Interactive, educational and fun.

Very fun and interesting, wonderful staff who were very informative and kind! Highly recommended ????????????

The iconic Sudbury experience

Free and picnic friendly. Have to pay to go in the building though. A staple of Canada

Not much to really see but the nickel, but great experience.

Very nice place to visit, lovely views plus never saw such a big coin :)

Worth a visit if you are in Sudbury!

Great place to visit. A must!

Nice view of the town from top, good place to enjoy the wind

Enjoyed our afternoon here! My son loved all the displays/shows and information that was pleasantly presented to him!

Great place to visit with kid and experience a mine day. There is a kids parking outside but it was not open on the weekend I went.

Enjoyable stop on a road trip! Easy to get to and great informational signs for the kids to learn from.

Used to work at dynamic earth so it was strange being back. But it's a beautiful setting. Nice view if Sudbury. And hey it's a huge nickel! Always interesting to see...

Yep that's a big nickel

Large nickel is big

(Translated) Really amazing! (Original) Vraiment impressionnant!

It is indeed a very big nickel.

Such a cool looking place from the outside. Google said it was open but it's off season (Oct 9) and only open at night. Took lots of fun pictures with the Big Nickel! Looks like a fun pumpkin setup for the kids at night.

Iconic Big Nickel. Worth the stop while passing through Sudbury. Nice little gift shop available as well.

worth a stop if traveling in the area

It was good to see. The coin is awesome. Good to know some geological history as well.Unfortunately the center is not open to the public .

I really liked how open the site is.. you can get lots of pictures of yourself with the Nickel. Its very shiny and beautiful. The site also has lights on it to light up the monument at night.. I didnt want to go at night cause I wasn't sure if there was lights.. but low and behold there they were

Awesome

Totally awesome!! Explains why it’s here, and very worth the trip! Excellent scenic view of Sudbury as well!

(Translated) I liked (Original) J ai bien aimé

It's literally the biggest nickle I've ever seen

Big and nickely!!

Loved the mine last time I was here and it’s so great again. The big nickel is still awesome. I feel and hurt my knee and they were so accommodating. Better gift shop then science north. The mine tour was amazing and the playground looked awesome. Great place to visit for old and young alike.

Pretty cool. Great views as well.

It's ok...worth it for my son...we did a picnic so it made it better...Sudbury roads to get there are HORRIBLE...reminded me of Chicago's poorly maintained roads.

Authentic indian food for value and they also have good tiffin service.

A fun little tourist spot on the side of the road! It is a good spot to take a break from driving and to stretch your legs. It’s a shame the other forms of currency were removed in the late 1990s/ early 2000s.

Awesome experience!

It's an awesome place to go and have a memorable time to gaze upon the world's biggest nickel coin and to learn the history of the how this vast crater came about.

We got to hold the largest nickel in the world! ????????♀️????????♂️. Although the full experience was limited due to the pandemic, I couldn't genuinely rate it 5 stars even if I wanted to. We spent some of the best 30-minutes taking pictures under the nickle with some of our best friends in Sudbury! It deserves another visit when it opens to the public.

Exactly as advertised - it's a very big Nickel! There's a mine shaft you can go down - part of the Dynamic Earth science centre - but unfortunately it was closed for COVID when we were there. Still, the view is pretty nice and it's a good photo opportunity. It's good for a quick stop, stretch your legs, take a few pictures, then head on your way to your next Northern Ontario adventure. I wouldn’t drive in to Sudbury just for this, but it’s part of the local attractions if you find yourself in town.

The Big Nickel was a fun sight to see, even in the rain. It was midday but the building was closed, except for in the evening, guess because it's October. The information on Google said it was open, so that was a bit disappointing. Looks like they have a fun Halloween pumpkin setup for kids. I'd try to visit here again during the day earlier in the season. Looks like an interesting place.

Was nice to get back and visit the Big Nickle...it's been 50 years since my last visit...very nice, enjoyed it!

Cool place to visit!

Very informative. Incredible what effort has been put into the mining operations over the years.

Fun place to check out if you're stopping by Sudbury

Was a hot ???? day 33°c didn't stay for visit was ok

Capture it

I was here for the Northern Game Design Challenge. Always a blast, the venue is cool. ????????

Fun and unique tourist attraction in Sudbury. We visited Big Nickel for the first time when we were visiting Sudbury in July 2021. It’s on the side of the Highway 34. A Great stop on the way. This attraction is free and the parking lot is …

Beautiful place for visit with the family, a lot history.

Don’t forget to take a picture

Representative of the history of this important industry in Sudbury. Cool for a quick visit.

A nickel mine

A must for all when visiting or passing by Sudbury. An iconic landmark and a nice place to take photos. Visit early morning to avoid crowd.

It's big, it's round, it's shiny, if you squint hard enough it almost resembles a bagel. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's exciting or anything (Mind you the gift store and park area were closed when we went) but it's worth stopping by just to say you did if you're passing through or visiting

Really fun pit stop with picnic tables but no washrooms available when mine tourist destination is closed.

(Translated) EN: Good place to stop for a picture, and rest. EN: Good place to stop and take a photo, also to rest. (Original) EN: Good place to stop for a picture, and rest. ES: Buen lugar para parar y tomar una foto, también para descansar.

Exactly as advertised!

Beautiful

Great place to visit.. Canada History ????????

It's ok place to visit.

Don’t miss the big nickel if you are in Sudbury. A cool photography place. It’s free and you can park right beside it. My kids really enjoyed.

Too scary, much too big for my tiny feeble pockets!

Blast from the past...was here many moons ago as a child and although it was fantastic to see the Big Nickel????, it was disappointing that the Museum was closed until October!☹️

A Canadian icon.

This was cool to explore. Unfortunately the museum was closed at the time we went (due to COVID-19) but we still had fun learning a little about Sudbury nickle mining.

(Translated) There are much more interesting activities than seeing a big dime (Original) Il y a des activités beaucoup plus intéressante que de voir un gros cinq sous

Neat experience

Very cool!

It's big

Always fun going and checking out the sciences

A national treasure! Even through COVID Dynamic Earth was celebrating Halloween ???? ????

Huge nickel in front of the museum Ample place to park Very informative Unfortunate dynamic earth museum was closed use to covid Amazing view from up there.

the sudbury landmark! not only it is a great testament to the nickel history of the area, it is a cool little place to visit. because of covid the dynamic earth is closed, but it is definitely a great spot to bring the whole family for an afternoon

Very big, very dope

Pretty neat. Great views. Cool rocks

Wish the mine was open.

An iconic tourist stop

When in Sudbury, the Big Nickel is a must see and even better at sunset.

Great little spot to visit the musty see

Wonderful place to lookout over Sudbury.

Made it to the big nickel. The most touristy thing to see in Sudbury. It’s very big and shiny. 5 stars ⭐️

It was closed due to covid, but we could still walk in and see it.

This is a pretty cool stop. Make sure you read the signs along the walkway too for some quick cool facts. Room for RV parking, and places to sit and eat lunch. You should definitely go here once. Its got a great view too.

Most famous attraction in Sudbury, located on the hill with nice view on the city

Great place to visit and take kids

A big coin, that's about it

A landmark that needs to be on anyone's bucket list.

Good place to visit, it will show some sort of downtown view of sudbury. It’s replica of nickel, fun place

Very interesting ????

Beautiful little look out spot, good for pictures.

Make sure to check out the boards explaining the cool rock formations near the big nickel.

Yup, it's big and it's a nickel. Got our photos.

Great view of the city!

Big nickel also a site of an ancient asteroid collision.

Went as a little kid , was cool and ok but as a adult now they have really improved the site above and below ground , it's even cooler as a adult now . Great job Big Nick

Closed Sunday.

It is a good stop to see in Sudbury when you are taking a road trip!

Get your tourist picture

Very cool stuff here

Gott see it

Sign says closed for the season but you can still drive into the parking lot and see The Big Nickle.

Too bad it was closed, I would have liked to visit

Loved the views

Absolutely must see when visiting Sudbury. It was a bit foggy when I visited, but I will be back for sure.

Quick fun stop to stretch legs on your travels

Who doesn't like a giant nickle.

the only interesting thing in the whole Sudbury

Beautiful.

Big Nickel , identity of the city.must visit

nice place to see and take pictures

Always worth the visit. Glad to say I'd been.

Very big, but not constructed of Nickel.

We visited this place in winter, so it is closed to visit inside. But we are able to take few pics outside near the coin.

Great place to take your family!

A must-see in Sudbury

Preposterously oversized things are always fun, no? Great, iconic site.

(Translated) Iconic place to visit if you are going to Sudbury! ???? (Original) Lieu iconique à visiter si vous allez à Sudbury! ????

Dynamic centre was closed so we didn’t get to go inside. Big nickel looks pretty cool with the giant rocks and the view.

Good place to visit once.Didn't get much time to hang over due to Covid. There is park too just behind the Nickel Frame.

big nickel, big nickel

Sudbury is a nice muddle sized city to visit and this is a historic iconic, symbolic place to stop in.

Wow! We were only going to spend about an hour here but ended up being the very last to leave. Ha ha So much to learn, watch, see, do. The Underground Mine tour was very interesting. My 12 & 13 year said it was one of their favorites.

Awesome must see landmark in Sudbury!

The big nickle was surely big, its always great to visit the attraction. While the main building was closed because of Covid, it was still nice to be able visit the nickel itself

Big nickle is cool monument in Sudbury. Thers is a dynamic earth science museum, but unfortunately it was closed when we visited. Would've loved to do the tour with them. Kids had a great time. There is alot of new plantation and plaques that tells you about its history. There is alot of parking available.

Given that my expectations were low for a giant nickel, I was pleasantly surprised by the educational content and views of Sudbury. Having said that they need a porta potty and some picnic benches for the covid era traveller. The landscaping stones did a good job as a picnic area and Tim Hortons near by did in a pinch for the bathroom.

We had a good time looking at the nickel and taking photos. It is as good as any "big" attraction around. It is worth a stop even if you only stay a short time.

big nickel scary. big nickel too big to fit in my pockets to steal.

Pretty cool place. Tours closed still due to COVID-19, but they have a few things for small kids. Grounds are clean. Looks like they have spent time to create an experience, not just a good view of the city.

It's Big, and it's a Nickel! What more could you ask for!?

The big nickel is huge and beautiful. Must visit in Sudbury.

It’s good for kids 5-8 at the Halloween event. The pumpkins were really cool thanks for who put their time for this.

If you are not entering the Dynamic Earth science museum, you do not need to buy a ticket. Making this attraction literally free. …

It's a big nickel

It's big

Very nice scenery. The Big Nickel weighs 15000 kg! It's an interesting place to stop by.

Nice little place to get away.

Very cool

Great times for family fun

Nice to let the kids see.

Awesome view.. Activities for kids..

Wasn't able to go in due to covid but had a nice view even given the hazy smoke from the fires out west. Lots of parking and plenty of space to move around and have different views of the city.

(Translated) It was closed because of the covid. The outdoor space is fine (Original) C'était fermé à cause de la covid. L'espace extérieur est très bien

As i was last there 40 years ago things have changed a lot . Due to covid.everything was closed ???? I did enjoy reading about the differant rock formations and colors. I really don't get the mini putt , (closed) its not related to the nickle mines. It would of been nice to see some kind of video of what happens in the minds . Thank you for sharing the big nickel .

I found a nickel standing outside it was on big pillars but it was too heavy to pick up and put in my pocket so I had to leave it but it looked pretty cool

Love seeing the Nickel!

Nice to see and a wonderful sight over the area from this spot too.

It's impressive and the story behind it is interesting. It is worth seeing it if you're driving by but I would not come from far to see it.

An attraction and tourist spot worth visiting. It also doubles as a museum. Lots to learn and see here.

5 stars mostly because it's something I've heard about since I was a kid and it lived up to it! It's a really BIG nickel! The museum sounds super interesting but was closed. Maybe next time, Sudbury!

Visited the Pumpkinferno. Definitely recommend, super cute for kids or adults. If you appreciate detail and and taking the time to enjoy something simple yet so creative, it's worth the 30 minutes

Worth the detour if you’re passing through Sudbury! Very cool to see this giant coin up close and all the interesting rocks leading up to it. Ample parking space available.

Looked impressive, from outside. Unfortunately closed with ridiculous opening hours on weekends only!

Would like to have seen more, Dynamic Earth was closed. Looks pretty cool

Yup it's big

Pretty big nickel.

(Translated) Bimg NimKel woW (Original) Bimg NimKel woW

The name describes the site.. it is quite a big nickle. Weights about 13,000kg.

Loved the store inside ☺️

Nice outdoor experience. Too bad everything is closed because of COVID.

Never been to sudbury before it a beautiful city

The giant nickel is interesting for a 10 minute stop, but the fee for going into the mines is overpriced. At $23.00 a person, i think it's money spent better elsewhere. I think if they cut the price in half, they'd get twice as many people coming through their doors.

(Translated) It is closed in winter. (Original) 겨울엔 문을 닫습니다.

The biggest nickel I've ever seen and will see

@neph.said (tiktok) says u have to get your picture taken there

Great views from the top. We visited in early January weather was good for Sudbury and not busy at all. Would be nice to see in summer.

It’s a big, shiny attraction that’s pretty much a must stop while in the ‘bury. Tip, shoot your photo with the HDR on because the reflective nature of the coin really helps expose itself in the photo. The Big Nickel is truly timeless.

Must see if you are going through Sudbury , I wish I could check out the mine tour / exhibit, but 2021..... Ugh

Not much here when the Dynamic Earth is closed (on Wednesdays) but there is still a really big nickel!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE

great place, but watch out for the speed camera aimed at the main road

(Translated) A view point where you can enjoy the scenery of Sudbury City spreading down the hill, a great place to take a selfie with a huge nickel coin, a landmark that has the identity as a coal mining city. If you stop by Sudbury during your road trip, it's not a bad place to visit, and parking is easy.

Its historical and memorable place where we spend our quality time.

A true Ontario experience!

nice place to stop

Very nice program. I enjoyed with my family.

Amazing spot, great little store inside. Nice pathway also and great for historical education.

Not much really, the museum was closed when we went so was a quick 5min stop. I agree with others here, don’t go out of your way for it... but if you’re in the hood... stop and take a selfie.

Love going here with the family. We've been coming here since I was a kid for family trips. It's nice to carry on the tradition. Unfortunately this year we couldn't go because of Covid but next year we will be back up there.

There are not a lot of attractions in Sudbury so be sure to check this out. None of the attached attractions were open due to Covid19.

An interesting place and history.

Good 5 minute stop. The rocks with the glacial scraping are amazing.

Great place to visit. It Is one of the most known atractions in Nickel City, the biggest city of northern Ontario Canada

Nice big nickel, not much to see around (visited during covid). But good attraction.

(Translated) Nice discovery, too bad the center was closed but we were able to see the big 5 sous. Impressive. We could see that it was made 5 cents of different sizes and materials: nicjel, gold, etc. (Original) Belle découverte, dommage que le centre était fermé mais on a pu voir le gros 5 sous. Impressionnant. On a pu voir qu'il a été fait 5 sous de grosseur et matériaux différents.nicjel, or,etc.

This was on the list to visit on the way. To bad it was blocked and we couldn't get any closer

Part of Canada's achievement history

HUGE!

Lovely little tourist trap! Some history here. Always something to do. Well kept property. Looking forward to win this lockdown is over and the museum is open again.

Museum was closed but got some pics of area.

Finally got to see it! Marvelous

I enjoyed the night view

Great place for the whole family.

Just a big nickel if your in the area go see it

Fun tourist attraction in Sudbury, replica of a Canadian Nickel ($0.05) that sits right outside the Dynamic Earth Museum. It's completely free to see the Nickel, and they even have information boards outlining how it was made. Ample free parking. You can spend more time there by visiting the museum but not sure what's in there.

Very cool. It is free to see the Nickel. Watch you don't miss the turn off on HWY 37. The Science Museum costs money, however, there are washrooms inside the building free of charge and you can also access the gift shop without paying to go in the museum. We were in a time crunch heading elsewhere or we would have went to the museum, looks very cool. If you're near Sudbury definitely go take some pictures!

On October 1st, 2020 I proposed to my girlfriend under the big nickel. This place will always hold a special place in my heart.

Legit big nickle!

Top place to visit in Sudbury. Located on a hill, offers great views

With the blue sky and big nickel behind, you could have a great picture. The view of the city can be seen from the top of the hill. Good place for dating and chilling. It is adviced to go around 9-11 am. At that time, it is not too hot in the summer and avoid crowds.

This is an interesting monument to visit in order to learn a bit about Sudbury's history. There are several information stations around, each highlighting facts about the place. A fun stop for the family as there's a unique playground right behind the Big Nickel!

The guided tour of mine is enjoyable and so are the documentaries. History of Sudbury is worth watching. Most of the staff are helpful and enthusiastic. But one or two need more training. Be prepared to spend about four hours if you have interest in mining and geology. The items in giftshop have a lot of variety but many of the m seem a bit pricy. Overall worth a visit once.

Seeing the big nickel helped me turn my life around.

Great family spot. Take a picture and head into Dynamic earth. Without the mining tour can spend easily 3 hours there. Love the rock hound, turn in rocks for points. Great educational fun for kids and adults.

Cool roadside attraction. No crowds in November because it's really cold.

OverRated it's smaller then I thought

It’s a really good place and there is a lot of information to get...

Was Closed During Winter break

Nice view of Sudbury there.

It was fun but the website isn't clear on weather or not stuff is sold out. But still had a good time.

Turns out this is the largest coin in the world! It was cool to see and take pictures with.

First time there in my 45 years of existence

Nice place to visit if your riding through Sudbury

(Translated) Unfortunately the museum was closed but otherwise the 5 cent was very beautiful (Original) Malheureusement le musée était fermé mais sinon le 5 cent étais très beau

My Dad worked at the INCO Port Colborne refinery! Great history!

Still under construction. Need to repair the walk way faster

Seems like the monument is a bit of a waste of resources.

Cool spot! Great scenery!

Closed Monday at 3pm. It's covid. People travel in ontario after labor day. Even bathrooms Closed

It would be 5 stars but the minebwas closed

Fun attraction in Sudbury. Great photo opp. Keep in mind, Dynamic Earth is still closed to the public. No access to the science centre (or washrooms, gift shop, mine tour etc.) just yet.

A must see in Sudbury

Loved the mine tour!!

This place really met all of my Giant Nickel needs. Nice views, well maintained site, and the obligatory selfies.

Hurry up its still free due to covid!!

A nice historic tourist trap with the biggest nickel in the world... nice to see at least once

It is a neat part of Canada's heritage.

I was expecting bigger

Worth seeing if you are in Sudbury

Great place to learn about the history of Canadian mining. The staff are very knowledge and friendly

Its big but not too big. Great view over all of Sudbury!

Lots of signs with info and pretty view. Also you can see the inco superstack from the viewpoint.

Gorgeous Absolutely breath taking

Awesome views and great heritage plaques to read about the origins of the mine

Big nickel was not opened to public due to covid, loved the big coin, took pictures. Amazing view.

Great to see such great interactive displays. I've been underground many times. It's great to be able to show my son how some of te equipment works. I'll definitely be coming back. I've lived in sudbury my whole life and can't believe I never visited sooner.

Good for children. Excellent animators

It is located in a beautiful place and a bit outside the city of Sudbury. Will continue a bit later.

Was surprised how large it actually is in person!

A must to see when visiting Sudbury.

Canadian icon...a must see when you go to Sudbury!

The guide is very informative and explained us how they extract Nickel olden days. Also how to identify rocks, minerals and fossils. Very informative. There is big Nickel mounted on the top of a rock. It was told this Nickel is the largest coin in the world. The head side of the nickel has King George VI and at the tail side symbol of refinery.

It's a big nickel.

Loved finally seeing this! Its one of 'bucket list' sights I've always wanted to see! And it lived up to all expectations... sadly covid made it impossible to go inside dynamic earth and explore the other attractions at the site but we'll be back in the spring so hopefully we can do that part next time

I have never been, and I'm sure it's a giant "nickle" however I'm giving this a one star review due to it being made out of steel and not truly nickle. I think Sudbury should be ashamed.

It's a big nickel with some history about the Big Nickel

As expected.

Been here before, been years though. Unfortunately with this Covid19, was still not able to see the Dynamic Earth exhibits.

That's one big nickel

Great place to be and be proud and grateful of our mining industry.

Awesome

It was fun and free to see! There was informative signs about the rock formation in the area. Unfortunately, I couldn't go on a tour with Dynamic Earth as a walk-in cause they were at capacity for the day from online bookings and the couple of people ahead of me that morning.

With everything still closed just the stuff outside to see but there some interesting things to read about outside.

It was really bright to look at... But then again, it IS a giant Nickel. It was cool to see the old design, there was lots to read and learn. There was a nice view and lots of space to take pictures from different angles.

It's a big nickel, alright

(Translated) The size of the coin is impressive, and so is the museum. (Original) Впечатляет размер монеты, и музей тоже.

Nickle needs a good cleaning

(Translated) Huge coin, worth a visit. (Original) 巨大的钱币,值得一去。

A Canadian Classic! No trip to Northern Ontario is complete without a selfie in front of giant currency.

Huge, magnificent and worth the visit.

Nice to learn about the area's mining history - the clear traces of the Nickel industry's flourishing past and its present economic status. Moreso, it is good to know how Cosmogalactic visitations have contributed to the geographical shape of the area's crater-formed terrain. The Big Nickel therefore is a good reminder of its being a by-product of Greater Sudbury's once prehistoric event.

Just the large nickle ......cook.

A very nice place to remind us of the history of the Nickel

Unfortunately when we were there the museum was closed but we did get to walk around we did enjoy seeing the big nickel . Is an interesting place.

Have wanted to see this for tears

It's big and still shiny. I guess it is a real nickel.

Interesting to see, and the glaciated rock, but we were out of season so could only look around outside.

Just seeing a Canadian wonder is a amazing!

Was very cool actually

A classic must see in Sudbury!

If you're in Sudbury, you may as well go look at it. It's a nice view from the top.

Great spot for scenic pictures

neat place!

great sight. had lots of fun taking pictures.

Nice place to visit if you are in sudbury area.

A bit out of the way but we'll worth the trip.

(Translated) Very nice and interesting museum. (Original) Très beau musé et intéressant.

Sudbury icon

It's big. Good for a quick visit as currently with COVID restrictions the visitor's center is closed for the rest of 2020.

This attraction delivers on its name, it's a BIG NICKLE!

Situated near a science museum on the top of the hill, it gives you a nice view over the city and the famous nickel mining smoke stack

I thought it would be bigger but maybe as a child it would be giant. Good trip for people with young children

Beautiful spot

Very nice place to visit

Very cool location. I just wish the museum and play area were open.

Cute attraction, very nice for the kids and the rest.

Delivers exactly what it promises. Makes for a cool photo op. Can park right by it and walk up to it.

Have driven by Sudbury a few times, but never visited. This is kind've a cheesy Canadian Bucket List checkmark for me. The museum itself was already closed, but luckily, you can still drive right up to the Big Nickel itself for photos. It's a nickel and it's big. Tick!

Nice place for a quick visit. If only visiting big nickel, no need to take ticket for dynamic earth.

Nothing spectacular but something to say you have seen as canadian/ontarian.

loved going here!

Very interesting and informative. Well worth the stop.

Loved it. Great photos and I visited during the Halloween season. They did it up with lots of seasonal pumpkin displays and a fun little Halloween tour in the evening.

Super cool and unique to see and learning the history of this part of Ontario

Museum is not open so the nickel is all you see.

Must see

It's a great photo spot

Big nickel in Sudbury

It's big

Nickel was neat but closed when we visited. Very sad they can't even shovel a path in the winter.

(Translated) The big nickel its really big and nice! And its super fun to take pictures with the big nickel! And inside the playground is SUPER FUN !!!! it has bubbles seed bombs slides and more !!!! A place to visit if you go to Sudbury or through Sudbury. Half an hour is enough. (Original) The big nickel its really big and nice! And its super fun to take pictures with the big nickel! Nothing else there open

Standard tourist attraction

Quite the massive nickel. You can see if from pretty far away and its gigantic when you are up close. Lots of parking on no crowds when I went in mid september.

Picnic area, good scenery

Was interesting

Lots of parking, the big nickel is cool, there's also trails and a children's playground

We took our kids but unfortunately due to Covid protocols they exceeded thier number of visitors for they day. It was spontaneous on our part so one must call ahead of time and reserve your spots.

It was closed when we went but nice to see the big nickel! Looks like a very interesting place.

Still looks the same with 50 years inbetween visits!

Very historical

A worthy stop if you find yourself around Sudbury. It is very cool way to commemorate the 1951 Canadian Nickel coin. After seeing the giant Toonie in Campbellford, I had make a pit stop to see the Big Nickel as well, and I was not disappointed.

My wife didn't like it.

It's big.

Big, freakin' Nickel!

I previously visited the big nickel when I was 19 so it was interesting to come back again all these years later. Sadly the mine was closed but understandably with Covid. My daughter enjoyed looking at various rocks around the site as well.

Not open in the winter but super cool

Nice place to visit. Very big nickel! A must see in Sudbury.

Go Sudbury Go!

Best ever

Obviously the Big Nickel is a bit cheesy, but it's on a high point and provides a great view of Sudbury.

Finally after 40 years of visiting Sudbury we visited the Big Nickel!

We loved seeing this on a windy day during a Covid relocation drive. I first came here on a school trip. The Nickel seemed so much larger then.

Must see in Sudbury.

Had a hard time finding it. I Wish they would stop moving it.

Super fun stop on our road trip! Well maintained and clean facilities. Mini put, museum, lots of places for photos and a huge parking lot.

Nicely maintained area. Lots of parking and beatiful views.

Tad disappointed as it was closed inside due to decorating for Halloween, until Oct 1st. Met a few more visitors, some making the trip as far as Niagara Falls and Ottawa. At least we had the "Big Nickel" to observe

Scenic. Real Canada. Tallest smokestack in the world right next door.

We went when Dynamic Earth was closed for the season, but you're still able to drive into the parking lot to see the Big Nickel

Land mark of Sudbury

good nickel! looked cool, very big

Dynamic Earth and the Big Nickel were awesome! My kids loved it! Lots of interactive displays and an outdoor science park. If you're a rockhound it's definitely the place to be. The mine tour was amazing!

The nickel is big

It's a billboard of a nickle.

The best museum in town, loved it

Good to see the Big Nickle. A sign of prosperous times

This's my first time to the Big Nickel which is definitely a must see. The view was amazing, I would recommend friends, colleagues, family members to visit the Big Nickel and history about the town.

Awsome place cool for the kids

Nice place but was closed

Even though we were there during the week (only open weekends) everyone enjoyed looking and learning about all there was to see

Quiet area at this time and a good view of the city

A MUST visit site. The views was one of the selling points. Absolutely gorgeous!

Awesome

OK

While in Sudbury you have to go see the nickel

It is truly a big nickel

It's a shame that the mining companies in Sudbury have not taken more of an interest in preserving the natural beauty surrounding this city.

When we will adjust for inflation and update it to a big dime?

Good lookout spot

Good. Not too many panickers.
