A lot of great information and history, definitely worth a visit. I only wish there had been more of it and we had been allowed upstairs as well. Very beautiful location.

Trevor DeLand

Great small free exhibit and gift shop. If you like what you see here, check out the main museum at Whitefish Point!

Becky Slocum

Clean and air conditioning is about all I can say about this place. Museum was a room around 8 ft. X 20 ft. Had articles that were neither authentic or labeled so one would know what we were looking at. Some pieces were even reproductions. It's free to see if you want to waste your time.

Rod Bergren

This is just a little preview of a larger museum at whitefish point. But the lady there was so helpful and full of information.

Absolutely loved it.

Great (small) museum! Free with friendly and knowledgeable staff. An outpost of the bigger museum up at Whitefish, with an overview of wrecks in the area, history of the lighthouses and gift shop.

Such an amazing place to visit. The people who work there are very informative and the buildings are amazing to explore. The gift shop is pricey but that's to be expected for the most part. Take a walk on the beach and you'll have an amazing view!

The Great Lakes Historical Society at the Soo is a nice introduction to the Great Lakes history. However twice we have visited and there was an older lady there who seems perhaps to have been a grade school teacher Way to Long. She snaps an answer or corrects anything she thinks you said wrong like she's rapping your knuckles! As I am a volunteer with a Historical Society... I was very surprised. The visits would be nicer with a nicer volunteer.
