Average Rating:

DESCRIPTION

You will see the opinions of people who have information of the products of Port Huron Museum (Museum) in Sarnia-Clearwater (Canada).

Currently the business gets a score of 4.6 out of 5 and that rating has been based on 127 reviews.

As you can see the average score it has is nearly the best one, and it's based on a large number of scores, so we can be quite sure that the evaluation is very credible. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the service, it works.

As you know, we do not usually stop to put feddbacks when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...

This Museum is included in the category of Museum.

The Carnegie Museum was a blast during my son's school field trip. The kids (and us grown ups too) got to learn about different aspects of life during pioneer times. The kids made homemade cornbread, shook up cream to make butter, and learned how to make soup out of vegetables that they cut up themselves. After learning how the pioneers cooked their meals over an open fire, they also got to make their own dipped candles, make punched tin art, learn how to draw with a quill and ink, and play with replica toys from the time period. We we're also given a tour of a pioneer home and the main museum itself, designed our own quilt blocks, and saw historical artifacts from our area. The museum building is beautiful, and I can see why it is available for use for special occassions. Once the food was done cooking, we enjoyed eating our soup and cornbread. The kids really enjoyed their trip, and they left the museum with many souvenirs from their various activities. I plan to make a trip in the future to explore the museum further and check out the gift shop. And I look forward to going to some of their special events and exhibits as well.

Great place for kids under 10, birthday party heaven. Clean organized lots of interactive features for the little ones. The interactive video mat was amazing. The kids laughed through the whole game. Parents are incourage to participate. Friendly employees, who take great pride in the museum.

Kyle Schmidt

We only went to the kids area but for 5 and under it was great. They give you a time slot and you are in a fairly large area with maybe 20 people total. Lots of great things for the kids to play with. A store, little lab area, truck, large Lincoln logs, ferry, beach type area, gardening area, and a dress up area. I'm sure I'm missing something too.

We visited the museum for an elementary school field trip. It was a Pioneer Day theme and there were so many activities planned for the kids! Not only did they make soup and corn bread that was cooked on a fire but they also got to make candles, tin punch, write with ink and a feather quill, walk on stilts and tour the museum! The guides were also not only knowledgeable but they were great with the kids!!!

Great place to take the kids. There is a wealth of information here, so much history to learn. There is a little movie to watch along the way. We absolutely loved it. Admission prices are listed on their website. They have a tiny gift shop but all proceeds go towards adding and restoring the building. The customer service was amazing. They are so informative and helpful and extremely kind and friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I gave them one star for being open. This museum use to offer so much more to look at. There's nothing to browse and learn about, no local history. The only thing to look at is the acheson marine exhibit, which is OK. A three story building with literally one floor to look at. The traveling exhibit for children was the only reason we came for a visit today, kids enjoyed. Fun and interactive hands on play. I'm curious how this place stays in operation. Growing up in ph we use to take field trips here, I cannot see the schools doing so now.

It was good. The children learned many things. Learned how the pioneers started their days with gathering/hunting and making their meals over an open fire. Then started their daily chores before enjoying the later day/ evening. They helped make vegetable soup and cornbread. Tin punch pictures...wrote and Drew with quills and handmade little wax candles. After all these activities...we later went into the museum where we saw our ancestors history of the Civil War....how music was during it's time and on a third level... The models of the large ships that sunk in the great lakes and their histories.

Port Huron Museum Carnegie Center presents once a month 'Movies on the Mezzanine'! If you're looking for a different kind of venue for your movie viewing experiences try this venue. The movies shown are classics. "His Girl Friday" was the featured film Thursday November 21. I thoroughly enjoyed myself with the delicious popcorn and lemonade that was served on a side table all at no charge for the snacks! So if you're looking for something to do, in December, the next classical movie is "It's A Wonderful Life" starring James Stewart and Donna Reed. Bring the family would love to see you there in support of the museum. Per Fire Code and or Museums permission bring a blanket and pillow for the young/young at heart for entertaining viewing and lay on the floor.
