A very small museum. Ursuline school taught girls from wealthy families. You get to see what school looked a hundred years ago. There is a small exhibit about ancient needlework. Pieces are impressive but very few. Self guided tours.

Poppy Stitches

This was one of my favorite places while visiting Quebec. As a needle worker it was wonderful seeing the history and work produced by the girls who went to the boarding school. The entire museum was filled with quality displays. I highly recommend that you visit while in Quebec.

We happened upon this chapel while walking around Old Quebec, and was glad we had. The collection of pre-french revolution paintings hung in the chapel for the public are worth the stop as is a glimpse into the Sisters Choir chapel. This side chapel has no access to the public but appears to have beautiful stained glass windows, gilded carved wood and spectacular dome. A quiet, bight and holy space, away from the hordes or tourists.

Students Love Travel

I was amazed the first time I took this tour, not just with the content (which is fascinating) but with how incredibly well it was delivered. This place sets a new standard for exhibits in Quebec and could stand proud next to best exhibits I've seen in Paris, Madrid, or Rome, Dublin, and London. The tour has a particularly strong impact on the students we take there, because most of them are the same age as the kids who would have arrived to become sisters, leaving the world they knew behind for the rest of their lives. If you have any interest at all in the history of the Ursuline Sisters in Quebec - or indeed the Ursuline Sisters in general - then take this tour, you'll thoroughly enjoy it.

(Translated) Beautiful museum that presents the history of this monastery and its importance for Quebec City since its founding. You can also visit the chapel, where the tomb of Mary of the Incarnation is located. Interesting for a small museum for sure. They have a cutout of a nun to pop your head in and the receptionist lady was nice enough to take my picture for me.

Very nice, small museum focusing on the role of the Ursulines in educating young woman in the early days of Quebec City and beyond. Interesting view into the lives of these young women who attended the monastery, some as boarders and some looking to join the order. Be sure to visit the lovely chapel across the street. The original monastery building appears to be there (also it burned a couple of times). Continue down to the school (ecole) to see. We walked into the courtyard as well.

This was a unique example of Quebec City Catholism. They have almost a gallery worth of hung paintings. There's also two areas because the nuns had to sit separately.

Makenzie McGonigle

This is one of the best museums I've ever been to. Not only were the exhibits interesting, they were also the perfect size and had just the right amount of information. Learning about this order of nuns, how they went through the process of becoming a nun, and the boarding students they taught was fascinating. The museum is impeccably clean, including the bathrooms. Most museums feel worn, but not this one; it feels brand new.

Charles Despres

Highly recommended, well worth the price of admission. Genuinely informative & well researched / curated ensemble that gives a broad picture of circa-17th Century North American culture. Particularly enlightening as to the role of religion in every day life, feminism / female roles-rights-responsibilities, etc. Friendly, uncrowded (for us at any rate), human-scale - a nice relief from overwhelming museums in the City.
