The Elgin Military Museum is an easy museum to miss as it is tucked away, but it is well worth the visit. The number of artifacts is astonishing for a city that of St. Thomas’s size. The museum also has an extensive archive of military records which the public can view.

If you live in or around Elgin county or just passing through, this is a must visit!! Perfect destination for a day trip with the family. Warm inviting and knowledgeable staff. Great to visit around remembrance day.

I realize with covid that hours have been minimized for many non essential places, but to not update your website AND be unreachable by phone us unacceptable. I got my father from Elgin Manor today(Fri) to take him to visit here after I checked on line it was open tues to Fri 1 pm to 5 pm. No one in the parking lot, and a sign shared ring bell for screened entry.....after ringing several times, and checking the times posted, there was a small sign stating Open Sat 1 to 4! When I tried to call the number provided on line to confirm.....the voice box was full. This may be a great museum, but there advertising and on line presence sucks

great little museum with more than you would think inside. a well stocked set of real ( inoperable) guns from both sides of the wars. models of boats and pieces from planes and submarines. nice remake of a trench and a nuclear bunker. medal room has many medals from many soldiers and not far from the Jumbo statue or the train bridge park .
