Very interesting, learned a lot!
Loved the History shown in the building and outside on the rails on how Revelstoke become into existence
Nice collection
Has a entrance fee now, compared to 10 years ago when last visited
Great display
I really enjoyed this. Lots of history, it's anazing the manpower required to maintain rail service back then.
Very well done. Good historical overview, great detail on steam locomotive and locomotive simulator and quite a model railroad!
What a great museum. My family really enjoyed walking through the rail car. We kind of wish we'd been able to climb the trains outside. Lots of great information,, should definitely go again.
Very enjoyable. Great for a rainy day or when you need a rest from outdoor activities. Tells the history of the area and the exhibits are well done.
Interesting museum with some fascinating information and displays on Canadian railway history. The massive steam locomotive is especially impressive!
History is alive
A really nice small-medium sized museum that has a plethora of information regarding the construction and racial discrimination of Revelstoke's railway and its workers. I would recommend you to come if you have kids and are interested in these sorts of information. This museum does indeed have a couple of the old fashioned (but well-maintained) cargoes which you may enter.
We enjoyed this small community railroad museum along the still active Canadian pacific route. The miniature train track that is slowly growing is very cool.
What a great display along with the complete easy to read story. Very interesting. Watching the actual documentary with real people was fascinating. Well worth watching.
Clean and tidy exhibition. Same for washrooms.
Really cool place with lots of history about the railway! Newly renovated caboose too!
Nice rail road history
Very interesting, there's lots of things to look at, the train models were spectacular and the information was quite interesting. Lots of activities and there were a few interactive parts.
Shows the importance of railways in the development of Canada.
Kids loved it
Nice place for kids and learn about CPR history
Great history lesson on the early day's of BC rail!
Greg place to spend some time. Have a great simulator, lots of things to see. Good for youngsters too.
Great place to visit when in revelstoke. You get to see train cars from the past up close. Plus they have a awesome model train set. Very cool
Very interesting
Great little stop in Revelstoke, affordable and rich in history! A great place to stop on your way through town!
Very cute, small but excellent. My son really enjoyed the model train and the kids section.
It's a very informative museum. Lots of interactive displays.
Very impressed with the exhibits here. Fascinating history of the Canadian Railway from it's beginning.
(Translated) Very nice exhibits, huge old locomotive (Original) Sehr schöne Exponate, riesige alte Lokomotive
(Translated) It is very suitable for children to come to the museum. Although there are only two big trains, there are many small details that can be observed well. You can often hear the sound of the train passing outside the museum and have floor-to-ceiling windows to watch. You can understand that the decoration in the previous train is How about, there are many joysticks with coin-operated driving games in the children’s play area. The story of the last nail is also a historical symbol, and there are also simple souvenirs to buy.
(Translated) Nice museum to follow the history.
Love the trains. Would have been nice to see the models working for the kids.
Family friendly, well laid out.
You can go inside some of the trains and admission is cheap!
My kids loved it. The train simulator was a nice touch for kids (it requires toonies).
It's an excellent railway museum. My toddler was very disappointed that the model railway upstairs wasn't running, but I was quite impressed with the exhibits.
This collection is wonderful, such a great slice of history
Awesome little museum
Pretty cool place to visit if you're driving through. Brought my niece and nephew, and he loved the trains and being able to go aboard.
????!
You can get a lot of useful information here. It tells story about Chinese workers.
(Translated) A step to make, investing an hour in a museum like this is a must.
Is ok
This place is amazing, I love trains
Nice museum about the history of the railway around Revelstoke and Rogers Pass. I liked the fact that there is a steam engine and passenger car within the museum that you can take a look at inside. Recommended.
Awesome experience, so thankful we stumbled upon this place. Great reading and seeing the history and work that went into the railway system in Canada. Also amazing seeing the sheer magnitude of the steam train inside.
Should be busier! It’s great, a passage through time, original locomotives, a Rocky Mountain sleeper, beautifully curated and even a simulator. This museum deserves your support. British travellers.
If railroads, mountains or Canadian history interest you this is a great place to spend a couple of hours.
Worth for a visit
Decent railway museum. Worth a visit if you like trains, or want to learn about local history. Revelstoke is a railroad town.
Informative and well run. In keeping with Covid limits we were easily able to navigate through the exhibits.
Very well kept
This is a fantastic museum. One of the better ones I've been to.
Super cool train museum. My kid loves trains and there were a few you could walk through which was awesome. Even a kids scavenger hunt
Great museum, everything about trains. Mainly about Canadian Pacific, and there history. Must visit place if you ever find yourself in Revelstoke!
Excellent museum.
(Translated) Beautiful well-kept musem (Original) Wunderschönes gepflegtes Musem
If u really interested in train history then visiting.
Friendly staff. The layout is nicely though out with ample space perfect for kids. Is great place to stop in Revelstoke to take a break from driving .
This great place to not only learn about Railway history in Canada, but also about the local area. This museum has a very impressive array of actual locomotives that were used during the colonial times, and incredible scale models of the area. This is a must visit for anyone passing through or visiting the region!
'Must visit' for a railway fun! Reserve the whole day for it, it has a lot to see.
A good bit of history on the Canadian Pacific Railway doesn't really cover the wider Canadian railways.
Disappointed the simulator wasn't working. Loved the history.
(Translated) Really cool and warm welcome (Original) Vraiment cool et l'accueil chaleureux
Awesome museum. Very interesting history of the CPR (how it was built, coping with extreme weather, etc.), model trains and real trains. There is also a movie about Revelstoke and the railway mid last century.
A lovely casual look at railway history and the role the railway has played in local history.
Lots of good info on the railway around eastern BC
Train
So much interesting information. Could be a bit more interactive though.
Average museum. Spent less than 1hr here. Not much to read
So interesting and informative! Lots to see and able to go into 2 steam engines. They also had a game where you can drive a steam engine virtually with all the sounds and gears etc. So cool! This will fill up a good afternoon. There is lots to see outside the museum as well. The gift shop was great!
Neat museum, gives you a great perspective of the magnitude of the job of building the railway and its continued challenges.
Very enjoyable visit. Big steam engine and you can tour a old railcar. A model railroad and lots of old cars. Great Covid protocols.
Best railway museum I have ever been to. Great variety of displays and rolling stock. Lovely steam engine and passage cars inside that are fully restored.
We drove from Lake Louise just to visit the museum. We encoutered passenger and container trains many times just outside the museum. The displays are appealing and informative. We got many train-related products, books and DVDs. We were also given specific directions to get to the Last Spike. Totally worth it!!!
Really enjoyed the history
Lots to see
Lovely purpose built building housing an engine and a carriage in lovely restored condition. Plus lots of side rooms showing posters and articles from a bygone age. Interesting history of the men who worked and lost their lives building the trans Canadian railway
Very interesting, friendly staff :)
Great museum.
Great museum friendly staff
Nice place to learn about history of Canadian railway.
The exhibition in general
Decent
What an awesome museum! Our family enjoyed the rich history right in front of our eyes. Murals, photographs, real railroad tools, videos and actual coach's to tour made this a great museum. There was even an engineer on duty to explain the workings of the steam engine! PLUS, a railroad simulator. My family enjoyed several 4 minute rides conducting a train down the tracks. The smiles were huge! There is no doubt that the beautiful rail coaches and wonderfully preserved implements that this museum has on display will bring history back to life for you. This was an affordable and fun stop for my family, not too far off the highway, located on a frontage street in Revelstoke that can easily serve as a nice break in a long road trip, or be added to a vacation in the area.
What a great place so interesting to learn more about trains, and also great scale train set
Nice museum about building Canadian Railway.
TRAINS ???? ???? I LOVE TRAINS!!!!! And there’s trains that drive right beside here like every 15 minuets!!!! It’s awesome! Also a great history lesson for children of all ages! (Or children at heart like me!)
Amazing experience would recommend
The CPR is a huge part of B.C., Canada, and the area. This Museum does a great job telling so many stories of what it must have been like. You never thought that clearing snow off the lines was interesting until you see it done. So much to see and do. A great cloudy / rainy day adventure. Kids will love this place, just don't let them run around crazy. Chinese workers are highlighted up the stairs, don't miss their stories. If you have the time out the back are cool things to look at on the tracks. Worth the price, and the people are nice + helpful.
Great little spot to stop when travelling through Revelstoke. Watch out for the cops, they are relentless.
This is an excellent place to visit no matter what the weather is doing, I would recommend this to visit if you're anywhere near. Only a small site but crammed full of history, good for all ages but perhaps better for the people who understand the importance & achievement of the early pioneers. I hope the people here get more help to expand their museum with more rolling stock & exhibits. We loved this place keep up the good work. Visiting from England
Such a beautiful historic place .. worth the visit
Great museum, enjoyed visiting. Great info and tours on the history of the railway.
Interesting if you're into trains. Clean facility and friendly staff.
This hidden gem is enormous, wish could have explore more about it. Some cool new stuff from them, and a few more might have bought but finish for some other time. Awesome stuff!
Nice place to visit staff are very nice
I thought it was an AWESOME museum.... especially since I'm an engineer myself. Covid put a little bit of a damper on things, but overall, a GREAT place to go see!
What a wonderful collection that truly educates you on the historical importance of the railway to the settlement of the West and the establishment of a lasting nation. Things to read, touch and experience. A working model train that entertains children and families ...
Very nice place to visit.
Great history
A nice but small museum that highlights the history of the Canadian Pacific Railroad. One third of the museum is dedicated to exhibits on how the railroad was constructed, and the other two thirds houses a Pullman car and a steam locomotive. If you take your time, you can spend a couple good hours here.
Awesome place. Even in Winter
Great Museum, we had a lot of fun here and it was very educational. If your driving through Revelstoke, I highly recommend stopping for a few hours and checking it out!
Super cool ???? to be able to walk through a train and see an engine room.
Great time lots of history.
Beautiful historic museum to visit
So good!!!!
Learned a whole lot here!
Well worth dropping by for an hour or two. Well laid out exhibits. Great for kids and adults.
A little gem! My dad was stoked to stand next to the massive snow plough. Lots of history here. I wish the train simulator was working though.
We drove to revy just to bring our 4yr old here. We love this museum and visit once a year. Keep up the great work.
Completely exceeded expectations. Our toddler was so excited he could go into a train car, sit in a caboose, and go into a snowplow. Nice building, excellent displays!
Do not go unless you want to spend $22 for family to see one engine from outside and 1 railway car.
Very interesting museum, not big but well thought out layout and well worth the visit. The lady at the admission desk was very knowledgeable and gave us a personal insight into Revelstoke as a railway town.
Great place to volunteer! More volunteers needed
If your kids like trains, everyone will have a good time here.
The main locomotive really is impressive.
(Translated) It is a town worth visiting. Of course, if you know the economic history of Canada, you will know that this museum deliberately hides many fragments of discrimination against blacks and Chinese. The Chinese workers who built the railway died in obscurity. As the most important gathering place for Chinese laborers, Mr. Sun Yat-sen personally visited the city to raise Chinese laborers and Hongmen funds to support the revolution in mainland China. All traces have been erased and buried under the brilliance of the chair made by the Queen of England ! New modes of transportation have desolate the city, and the urban renewal of Canada in the 1970s has leveled out all the "crime and exploitation"! The blood and tears of the predecessors, the contributions and hardships of the predecessors have all been annihilated in history. Will history be forgotten? I am grateful to Ms. English who researched the early history of the local Chinese at the local museum. A foreigner did what a Chinese should do, admiration!
What great place take your family to. We were traveling through Canada and stopped here with the family. My little boy loves trails so he was excitied beyond belief. They have toy trains there to play with and several walk through trails you look at. Definately give them a look see if you are in the area.
One of the better "local interest" museums I've visited. Well thought out, conveyed the topic well. The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Fun place to be. Kids loved getting into the trains. We never realized how big steam engine locomotives were.
Awesome. Nice place for a Virtual Railfan camera
So much fun for kids and adults. Not very big but we spent at least 2 hours there. Bonus, a train going by with area where you can watch it pass by.
Great little museum with lovely people running it
Way bigger and more informative than I expected. Very nice displays, including some interesting train models.
How much more fun can you have for 10 dollars. Come on in and take your time at some prime revelstoke / canadian heritage. Museum is super well kept and put together and a great time to learn about the past. Smels good. Well lit. Lots to take in. I reccomend it. Go check it out!
Went there for the camera then became famous on YouTube as I did my dance

Very cool to read about the railroads and trains. It was a nice pit stop, giving us a chance to stretch our legs and get out of the car for a while.
10/10 authentic train experience! Tried to go, but never made it past the entrance intersection to the parking lot because there was a long, loooooong train stopped/trying to back up there. Can't think of a better way to experience a train in its mountain environment! In all seriousness, it's probably lovely and Revelstoke is great, would definitely make time to give this museum a shot.
Fun way to spend an hour or two. The kids loved the engine simulator. Very friendly and helpful staff
Wow a good look into history There was soo much to see
Great place and knowledge on the truth about how the railway was created and how trains work
Wonderful. Extraordinary sense of history.
Love looking at all the trains and rail cars, gift shop was awesome as well.
This museum has a great layout, super interesting plaques to read, and it’s fantastic that you can go inside the trains and see them firsthand! I’d definitely recommend it.
I did not expect to be so entertained by trains. We came here to give my two young sons a break on the long drive between Calgary and Vancouver. It was so much fun for them to run around, climbing in and out of the trains. Two trains are indoors, quite a few more outside. There is an excellent play area for kids with puzzles, games, dress up, coloring sheets, and a wooden train table. The signs are informative, telling interesting and emotional stories about the men who worked on the railroads. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
Good start to understand the history of Revelstokes and British Columbia in general.
Fun with grandkids here,!

Nice railway history
Must visit for the young family
Good museum, lots of information on the CPR and the building through the Rocky Mountains.
Very informative
This museum is amazing for a small town museum. There is a lot of history to read about in this museum as well as hands on stuff for the kids. The top attraction is an old steam engine located indoors and an old rail coach setup for guests and staff. You can walk through the entire car. Outside there are lots more rail cars to check out and explore. It’s worth the stop if you are in the area.
Like the Engines and the Railway wagon
(Translated) The railway museum is right next to the real railroad tracks, so the current train is right in front of you. (Original)
Amazing, so much information I never knew. A must see in Revelstoke, a nice way to spend a rainy day
Great!
Train simulator!
Did not go in the museum, but the historic rolling stock was interesting enough to stop by and look at. Snow plows and vintage freights cars. Adjacent to the very active Canadian Pacific line in downtown Revelstoke
Cute little museum, the trains inside were very clean and well kept!
Educational
Loved learning about the people of Revelstokes roll in the rail line over Rogers Pass. And trains are just inherintly cool.
(Translated) Interesting (Original) Intéressant
Nice museum. Visited in 1999
Chock full of history of the CP railway with a new train simulator. Check out this museum if you find yourself near Revelstoke.
What a beautiful way to keep history alive. Definately something to see.
Loved this museume. Especially the interactive parts. You can enjoy being in a real old train and see all the old menues. Definitely should go.
Great day spent there last summer.
Good for kids
Lots to see. It would be nice if there were a few more interactive exhibits for kids to play with
Second visit, just as good except last time we were entertained with the live storytelling of Bert (or was it Ernie?) who has sadly passed. Wonderful stop!
Loved going! got a cool cup and two shot glasses from the gift shop!
Interesting heritage site to learn about how we did things in the past.
Awesome Railway Museum to visit, exceptional signage explaining the various pieces, the second floor overlooking the steam engine and river car is something else. Don’t forget to try the train simulator for $2 as well! A must see when around Revelstoke.
Excellent place to take children or people interested in history of Canadian Pacific Railway and its importance in Revelstoke and surrounding area and Canada in general. Simulator is also a decent representation of working on an SD40 (I work for the railway) and has rolling stock in the yard outside to look at / walk through.
Super neat! Amazing to see the old locomotives up close
Great museum, lady at front didn't know much English a bit outdated but good experience!
Don't miss it!
I've loved trains since childhood and this museum didn't disappoint. So many displays, models, and exhibits to see about RR history in BC and how they completed the mountain pass routes to connect the nation. There is also a section for kids and a the local model train club built a miniature railway which operates upstairs.
A must visit when you are in town , especially if you love trains
History of the Western leg of the railroad. Hardwork and personal sacrifice.
This place is wonderful and fascinating! The trains on diaplay are beautifully maintained, and if a volunteer is in, you can go into the engine and see what it was like to operate a steam engine!!
I was totally looking forward to visiting here on our Revelstoke adventures. My experience was a little disappointing due to the simulator being down and there was no one available to run the mini track. The rest of it was great.
(Translated) Ideal to visit it with children (Original) Ideal para visitarlo con niños
Really nice place
As a Railfan, I loved this museum! Very interesting history!
Awesome museum to visit. The displays are wonderful! Great gift shop too. A must see when in Revelstoke!
So much history here! Really well done. We loved being able to actually explore a few trains inside.
It was a great display of some railway history. I wish you could have gone in the trains. Our kiddos loved the dish display and the model train.
Wonderful, authentic museum with enthusiastic volunteers
Great place for Canadian history . Really cool exhibits as well as pictures. Plus don't forget the train simulator.
Amazing museum with highly competent staff. Very informative about the history of CP rail and its impact on Revelstoke. I'm surprised at the amount of historical artifacts and the diesel-electric locomotive simulator. The centerpiece of the exhibit is the Mikado 5468 locomotive, and it's massive! Definitely worth visiting.
Very entertaining!
(Translated) Small museum of the history of the train and its importance to Western Canada. Very interesting activity to do with children and especially on a rainy day! Went there on October 10, 2020 and with the COVID situation thought it would be almost empty but it really is the local attraction so the museum is filling up fast! So get to its opening, if you don't want too many people. If you read English well, the signs are very interesting and you can learn a lot. Don't forget to go outside, to the side of the museum to admire the old locomotives.
Nice attractions in Revelstoke
I love trains and this place was great! The snow removal engines were eye opening.
Great place to learn the history of the railway system in Revelstoke
Beautiful history
A lot of fun. Pretty interesting. Lots to see. Very friendly staff and a cool gift store with good prices. Got myself a nice long sleeve shirt for $12. It's a self guided tour indoor and outdoor. Two floors.
Not a big museum but was interesting and there was a retired driver who was working there and he was very friendly and he was definitely enjoying explaining things.
A great experience and a very helpful staff. Due to Covid-19, the staff are taking extra precautions and cleaning the area every few minutes.
Great history stop
Good value. Great place to be a kid again at this place. Good history lesson on BC railway history. Lots of parking available.
I learned some knowledge about the first Canadian railway constructed by Chinese immigrants
Loved it. Very well done.
A wonderful attraction tucked just off the Highway, a must stop for any train enthusiast, the full size trains were a wonder to the child, and the artifacts and dioramas provided a great recounting of history. We didn’t get to go out in the yard as it was too cold but will next time we stop.
If you like trains do it
Very nice museum
An great museum to take kids too. A BIG favourite with all 3 of my boys!
(Translated) Small museum very nice in rainy weather. They distribute a booklet in French but the panels are in English. For once, the booklet is very very succinct compared to the descriptions of the panels but little enough to understand what happens there.
A fun place with lots of exhibits and history
Great place to visit with a family. Have some interesting displays and trains. Enough displays and info to be interesting, mostly focusing on the completion of the railway in the West. Kids loved the train simulator (it's an additional $2).
It was informative and had a lot of signs to read. But it was a self guided tour, and the experience may have been better with someone in the museum guiding you through some of the bigger exhibits. A few things were taped off and there wasn't very much interactiveness, just a lot of signs. I learned a lot and enjoyed myself. But the experience could be made so much better.
Definitely worth the visit, lots of history regarding the CPR including a large number of artifacts. The building the museum is housed in is incredible. There is lots of parking for large RV's on Victoria Road right in front of the museum.
You can go inside one of the trains! Highly recommend
Hubby enjoyed it
Popped in on a rainy day. Lots of great info, even the kids enjoyed climbing in and on the trains and looking around.
Such a blast! Ended up here on a whim before our main stop at the Enchanted Forest. Our daughter has always shown an interest in trains so bringing her here was the perfect stop. She had fun.
Great place for kids or if you are interested in the railways.
This place is a hidden gem in Revelstoke. Those who like railroading or history should definitely stop in here.
love it very much
Top Notch, you should buy a season's pass here if you have kiddos!
Nice place, took us about an hour to thoroughly explore. Fair deal as well, it's a must visit for anyone visiting the area for the first time
Very interesting place.
Small facility, but a few interesting tidbits about the history of railways in Canada. Very neat to climb into an actual railway car.
I am into that kind of thing. It was phenomenal and very educational
Very decent place to visit for families
Great for kids
Had a great time. Very interesting
Super great experience! Lots to see in the Museum if you are fascinated by trains and the history in general.
An amazing gem of a railway museum. A must if you are railways or train travel.
Lots of great history about the Canadian Pacific Railway
(Translated) It can be visited in a very short time but it's still interesting (Original) Il se visite en très peu de temps mais c'est quand même intéressant
A must visit place in Revelstoke. It is worth the admission fee
Marvellous. Our kid (4) loved it too.
Awesome exhibits
(Translated) Relatively small nice museum with cheap admission ($ 10). The locomotive and the passenger car have been beautifully restored and some of them are accessible. It also explains a lot about the railway construction and operations in the Revelstoke area. Some of the cars in the outdoor area have been restored, some are waiting for the restorer. The huge snow plows are impressive. Several small returnable vehicles are also on display.
Some excellent artefacts and a good visit but outdoor displays weathering badly.
Stopped by to stretch our legs on the trip from BC to Alberta. We were pleasantly surprised with the museum and the kids loved that they could climb inside the different train cars.
Well worth a visit
Worth a visit for old and young, but bring some time.
Great history in a great place.
This is a must see if you are going through Revelstoke. We love history and this was packed. There were so many areas of interest that were so perfectly displayed. We were so amazed by the size of the steam engine and loved walking through the coach cars. Kids will love the running model railroad display.
Good museum
Great not so little museum for a small town. Kids loved it. Would have liked to read more of the history but kids were too excited to climb in and see everything
telling a lots about history
They have some pretty cool trains!
Lots of very interesting things to Read About here. Nice stop.
Nice museum also if you are not a fan of trains. Lost to see form the historie of de poeple in and around the trains.
The best train museum in Canada
Didn't gone in this trip. Loved it 3 yrs ago when we went.
Fun experience, very enlightening!
Was great to look at the old steam engine inside all the guage and all the hard work to build the railroad
(Translated) You learn a lot about the history of the Canadian pacific railway. There is even a printed guide in German.
Interesting and historically informative...was wonderful to see old locomotives up close and to
Great love it
The museum is a great way to take a day off from the hitting the trails. Hours can be spent looking at the museum's many artifacts and reading the exhibits to learn the history of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The experience becomes significantly immersive when you enter the main gallery and come face to face with a walk-through passenger car sitting next to an old steam engine. Pop out the back for the chance to walk along a little yard where you can go inside a caboose while taking in a variety of other cars. You may even see an operating train roll through as the museum sits directly adjacent to the tracks!
Good 4 a train hobbiest.
Kids loved it ! Great learning experience!
Very interesting place to visit.
Some cool pics, trains, and stories
Fun to visit for an hour, especially if you have kids
Great place. We enjoyed ourselves.

Amazing !! Will definately be coming back
Great museum.have to visit when in area
I love trains.
This museum is a must for anyone who loves trains. Excellent exhibits, both indoors and out, that really tell the history of Canada. My favorite is the simulator: you get to drive a train!
Over 40,000 sq ft of all things railroad. Sheldon Cooper would pee himself here. This place is wonderfully layed out and chockablock full, of fun and fascinating historic train stuff. Highly recommend.
Great pit stop and learning moment to break up your drive to the BC interior. And a great adventure for the kids! Reasonably priced too.
Great Great history. Absolutely love the upstairs asthetic and exhibit. They have very nice railway artifacts and well curated. Good photo opportunities and the staff really knew their stuff. Had the opportunity to meet a couple board of directors who work on site. One restoring the interactive mini train display and the other who seemed to be an expert in absolutely everything. 100000% recommend. Good for adults and children.
Super fun & great staff! Lots to see and learn about. Very pleased with the visit.
Well designed, quaint, medium sized museum with loads of accessible information. The staff and volunteers were very kind and knowledgable.
Great museum. They show their train collection well
Very well done. Loved that we could go into the railway cars
nice place.
If you like trains and/or history, this is a must see
A nicely done local history of the CPR.
Lots of cool exhibits and interactive set ups. Son loved going on the railcars
Nice little museum to spend an hour or so.

The museum is great tribute to all of the men and women who worked and even gave their lives to build the key feature in connecting this country together. Reminds one how rugged and wild this landscape is. Good for kids with the simulator and model train display.
This Railway Museum is a must see. The restoration of their steam engine makes the steam engineers job really live.
Very cool!!!
(Translated) Nice and interesting museum. (Original) Mooi en interessant museum.
Nice museum well maintained very cool trains
Staff were super friendly!
Despite COVID-19, Revelstoke Railroad Museum is open for business. Our visit was well worth the stop and fees waived. We did donate however as it’s volunteer based. Stop and contribute to this important celebration of rail history in Canada.
Interesting railroad history...very good...
(Translated) The museum is worth it. You learn a lot about railway line construction and have many authentic models.
Exceptional museum to visit...
Informative, authentic. Helpful, friendly staff. Also thought this part of one of the paintings was funny.
This Museum is full of history and well done! It is definitely worth the visit. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable!
Very historical peice of the town
Great museum and was the perfect place to stop and give the kids a break from the long drive. No food sales but that's not needed here.
Absolutely great experience; wonderful mix of displays and dioramas and, of course, the railyard display. A must stop. Our 14 month old daughter loved the steam engine!
Loved it. Super friendly staff. Very informative pictures and stories. Very well kept and clean. I loved every bit of it. I wish we could have went inside the big locomotive engine but I understand why it's blocked off. Lots of stuff for kids to climb in and there is a play room for the younger ones.
Would have to be The most wonderful museum ever, we loved it, one of the places to go back to incase we missed something. ❤
Great museum for such a small town well worth a visit.
Railway Museum
It was awesome
Everything to know about train history in the Canadian Rockies
Lots to look at and the ability to get into the cars. It's a quicker stop as it takes about 2 hours to do everything. Train simulated is a good time too. You may even get stuck behind a train on the way out.
A must for any train or history buff to explore the history of Canada's railways.
interesting look at our history
Awesome museum. Kids loved it
(Translated) Very exciting, not too expensive. The simulator is fun! (Original) Sehr spannend, nicht zu teuer. Der Simulator macht Spass!
????
Well worth the visit if you're a train buff.
I lived in Farrell trailer Park for yrs till I moved. To this day sounds of a train helps to calm and fall asleep. I miss going to railway days.
Nice museum with lots of information and history about the Revelstoke area. $10 adults
Very informative, gives an impression of the importance of Revelstoke and Railroad for the region and Canada. Very impressive is the steam locomotive inside. A visit is recommended.
Great place if you like train history
(Translated) Very nice museum, albeit limited to the region.
Great diplays - allow more than an hour to see it all. I had an houe and will need to go again some time.
Worth an hour or so to have a look round - some interesting exhibits from the history of the railway
What an awesome place.
This place Is wonderful. As soon as we entered the building the lady who works there greeted us and was exceptionally friendly. She was super talkative and when we finished our tour we chatted with her for quite sometime. I'm a current railroader and must say that everything Inside and outside of the building was amazing. Great detail, great artifacts and Information. I highly recommend going here. I will definitely be back In the future and once again thanks again to the front desk woman for all the fantastic facts and wonderful conversation.
Great place to explore and learn.
Incredible place! Exhibits are thoughtfully designed and very engaging! Very enjoyable visit
The steam locomotive is incredible!
(Translated) Small museum which still gives a good summary of the railway construction, the living conditions and the later use of the line.
Don't miss it! I really liked the outdoor rolling stock exhibit.
This is an excellent museum. I learned so much about the toughness that the workers had to build and run the railway through the wilderness. It also makes clear the contribution and sacrifices that the Chinese immigrants made even though they were treated terribly. You owe it to yourself to learn how the Canadian Pacific changed Canada.
(Translated) Small nice museum. 2-3 hours are enough to look. (Original) Kleines nettes Museum. 2-3 Stunden reichen vollkommen zum Anschauen aus.
Great place if your interested in old trains at all.
It was so fun!
Lovely place to visit....
Took our train obsessed son ???? and he had the time of his life. Lots of interesting information and bits of history that most people probably dont know. Lots to see and do and admission is pretty cheap. We went for the kids but still learned lots and had a good time.
Cost too much to get in for a family. Was okay but not worth the price. Great for very young kids
Amazing experience and great atmosphere loved the place and want to visit again
(Translated) Great and extensive railway museum (Original) Tolles und Ausführliches Bahnmuseum
Son enjoyed it, daughter found it kinda boring, but lots of good info on the railroad
There are less things to see compare to railway museum in Squamish.
Really neat look at railways and what an important part they played in building our nation.
If you have an interest in trains this is the stop for you. It is privately owned and run. The museum is both inside and outside exhibits of train engines (steam & diesel) along with track maintenance equipment. Information videos are quite interesting along with a simulator of operation of the train for $2.00 if I remember correctly. There is a $10 entrance fee but it is well worth it and helps to run the facility. You will not be disappointed.
My kids really enjoyed the visit to the Museum. They have learned a lot about the history of CPRail and how it come to Canada.
(Translated) It details the history of the Rocky Mountain Railway for more than 100 years, and also records the history of the Chinese workers in the past, and redressed them and affirmed their contributions.
