A must see, especially if you arrived by train. This is a classic restoration of the little train stations that dotted the country. It depicts both the business and the life of the stationmaster.

Great! The best railway museum for the size. Displays great and all well organised. The very best was the great chatty lady. More like her in this world please.

The museum is housed in a quaint looking white building with a slate colored sloping roof along the Prince Rupert Waterfront walkway, very near the Rotary Park and the statue of a diving whale. You have to enter the door and you will be guided by the friendly lady volunteer who will be happy to show you around and tell you the history and the role of the railways to the development of this region. Please check up about the opening timings from the Visitor center before visiting or you may find it closed.

An excellent restoration of a "Type-E" GTP railway station. The host, Angela, was incredibly kind and helpful. She knew her history and was exuberant in relaying the information. If you are a railroad history buff, this is an excellent stop - the station still has the flagging hardware! Check the hours, the first time we stopped by, the station was closed.

My dad lived in this exact station as a toddler in 1959, and my grandfather was the controller there. I learned that it was transported to Prince Rupert from its original location next to the railroad tracks on the Skeena River. So, uh... I'd give it 5 stars for being partly responsible for my existence. Thank you Prince Rupert for maintaining this piece of my family's history.

Small museum located in a station of the Grand Trunk Pacific RR which established Prince Rupert in the first years of the 20th century. Told the story of the workers building and then maintaining the line to Prince George and the outside world. Worth spending an hour plus learning about the development of this beautiful area.
