Very nice lighthouse and two range lights (used for a entrance to the harbor). Not only do you get nice views of the lighthouse you also might get to see ospreys in the edt on the platform next to the lighthouse. We saw both parents and heard the babies (who were too small to see from the ground). There is a ferry terminal near by as well and we saw a ferry come in.

Photogenic, there's a little beach there. Maybe pack a picnic and hang out on the water's edge watching the ferry go back and forth between Nova Scotia. I like this place.

We enjoyed our visit to the Wood Islands Lighthouse. It is located right beside the ferry dock and you are able to go up and look at from the top for a small fee. The lady in the gift shop was quite knowledgeable and directed us to a beach nearby called Northumberland Beach which we were able to see seals sunbathing and even a few jellyfish in the water.

This is where the ferry dock from Nova Scotia to PEI. Always happy to see the enchanting lighthouse. That means we have arrived home again on the Gentle Island. Got to love PEI.

Beautiful, quaint lighthouse. The grounds are in the shadow of the ferry crossing port, but there are nesting ospreys, and the views along the coast are very nice. Check out the nearby restaurant, Lady's Slipper Express (closes at the end of September) for a very nice lunch.

Awesome park for a picnic with tons of room, free parking and picnic tables to use.

"Best" of 3 light houses we visited, the 2 others on north side on beaches in national Park. "Best as it's complete with side houses (maintained by coast guard) and a nominal fee to visit inside the main light house". Beautiful views with sightings of birds. Watch out for mosquitoes too!

Beautiful lighthouse overlooking the ferry and the Northumberland ferry. Great for a picnic if your coming onto or off the ferry. Has a nice playground for kids no where to swim but 10 minutes away from Northumberland provincial park.

An absolutely delightful lighthouse full of historical artefacts and many hands-on activities for younger visitors to explore and enjoy. The steep climb up to the light is worth it for the breathtaking views of the Northumberland Straight.

This is a delightful little museum. We went over while waiting for the ferry. We were not able to give it the attention it deserved. I would say give yourself a solid hour if not more.

What a beautiful lighthouse. My family had a great tour today and the lady working was absolutely wonderful. This is one of the better lighthouses in pei that you can climb, also the easiest one to climb out of all the lighthouse tours. Highly recommended it. Thanks from the Fraser family.

Grounds upkeep and view is outstanding there. The lighthouse was not open yet, told by grounds keeper will be open 18 July

Nice lighthouse! We tried twice to have a tour of the lighthouse but missed the hours both times. Make sure you get there at least an hour before closing if you want to go up to the top. The grounds are nice for a picnic lunch. There's a playground for kids.
