There wasn’t much to see the day we visited. Perhaps it is busier or more fun on the weekends.

Interesting station building, goods shed and a short length of track remains. The station building is now a pub, while the goods shed houses an art gallery There is also a cafe on site and a PEI liquor store. Plenty of parking and it is on the Confederation trail. This is a regular stop for us on PEI.

Not exactly what we were expecting. Kensington is a bustling, busy place. We were there at lunchtime, and the whole area was very busy. The station area is cute, but it makes little-to-no attempt to cater to fans of Anne. Although it is supposedly the station from the Green Gables story, there is no indication or mention of that fact at the location, as far as we could see. There are public bathrooms available near the station.

Beautiful spot with a few little shops, a sit in restaurant, a take out eatery, hair salon, liquor store & open stage that holds free music concerts every Wednesday/ July-August! There's also a portion of an old train located at the end that you can take pictures of/on. It's worth the stop to take the short walk through and sit down at one of the public seatings provided and enjoy some fresh air & sun.

So much great history. Visit the art gallery. Great food! Especially the fish + chips at the new place Go Fish. Interesting history panels along the walking trail (which is part of the Trans Canada Trail.)

We arrived and they were fully booked but the owner withno hesitation they would accommodate. We had the best service from Carolyn. We ordered the smokestack hamburger and it was the best hamburger I have ever tasted. Hats off to this restaurant. It a must to stop and enjoy.

More of a review of this little area in general. Great for some island art in the little shops, and a unique building in the stone island pub ( the old train station ). Worth stopping in here rather than just driving past Kensington !

I am a huge train geek and stopped by to look at the CN locomotive 1762 in Kensington in the Summer of 2017 during Canada 150. Incredible story how it was moved here too. Maybe a bit of melancholy too? We were enroute to the Potato Museum in O'leary but stopped by to take a few photos of the locomotive..... pouring rain too! I spent my childhood summers on PEI in Fanningbrook near Mount Stewart and appreciate the heritage of the island. Some of best memories of my life. I wonder if the town or community ever considered to get the trains running again? Like a short 6-mile tourist train? Maybe in Kensington or Elmira?Wouldn't that be something! They do it all over the US...North Conway Scenic rail, NH and Essex Steam Train, CT to name a few. People love train rides and the nostalgia is overwhelming. Great little train station in Kensington. We hope to visit again on a sunny day in 2019 when we revisit PEI. Love it here!
