Great and friendly service. The miniature railway is very well maintained and a fun adventure. The speeder is a great piece of history. I wish we had come earlier in the day to spend more time in the museum.

David Woods

Nice little museum. Don't expect to spend the day there but a fun little stop. Kids loved the train rides.

(Translated) We stayed 1 more day in IPE to see this museum, it is written in the tourist guide they opened on June 3 and on the website but they were closed with a small sign in the window they will be open only on June 10 ... too late, we will be made elsewhere.

Wonderful step back in time for the family. Our 2yr old grandson absolutely loved the ride on the train, then running around the grounds and climbing into the real caboose. If your heading to Souris, Basin Head or North Lake make the Elmira Railway a perfect family stop for a picnic lunch and stretching your legs.

Alex Kozjak

Definitely a destination to visit with kids and fun for adults as well.

An informative and adorable train museum! Features a miniature train ride, and well priced gift shop as a bonus.

Quaint, historic spot lovingly cared for and put together by a dedicated staff. Our preschooler loved every part, from the neat artifacts in the museum, to the model train, to the rides on the mini train and speedy tram, to perusing in the gift shop. A great stop before continuing onto Basin Head.

This is a great place to bring small children. My 2 year old wanted to ride the train over and over. It's a beautiful little ride through the woods.

James Hebbard

Small, but with plenty of charm. The mini locomotive through the woods was the highlight which our 2 year old loved, but bring bug spray!

Jolie Mack

Great little museum - perfect for short attention spans. Just enough information to take in on an afternoon visit. Topped off our visit with some time at the playground and the coolest little train ride for the whole family. We loved it!

We took my granddaughter to Elmira train station and I am pretty sure she liked it. I know we did. Great train ride and the museum is well worth seeing.

Steven

We enjoyed the small train ride. The rest was ok, but make sure you look at the hours. We drove all say for 30 min. They were supposed to closed at 7pm and closed at 5 that day.

Neil Weber

Wow.. just wow. Well done to those who put this together. The info and history are amazingly well kept and displayed. The layout is fun for the little ones to watch. I was there before the train was running but look forward to coming back.

Nice place, showing heritage.

Steve Riegert

I wish I could get my money and time back. Don't bother.

Spencer Lambert

A must miss. A few ratty buildings with a dismal collection of flea-bitten railroad artifacts plus a dangerous looking "train" you sit on uncomfortably as a young boy fiddles with the controls. Each "attraction" here costs extra. By the time we were done our wallets were $50 lighter for two kids plus accompanying adults. The "staff" follows you around to make sure you don't try to sneak into anything without paying. I've had more fun losing my wallet down a sewer.

matt Hicken

Great historic spot!

Jeni Johnson

Although it seemed a little unorganized, we did greatly enjoy our visit to the Railway Station. The miniature train ride was a blast.

Not a lot to do or see. Maybe if you're super train nut, but still would only take 30 minutes to see everything.

A nice museum to visit, that will only improve as it completes more of its expansion projects. I found that there was more emphasis on displaying artifacts than providing a description and their role in the railway. While there was a brief summary of the railway and it's life on the island I felt more could have been done to convey the impact the railway had on the island. It is a small museum run by, what I assume, are volunteers who do a good job keeping maintaining the museum. It does sound like, through overheard conversations from the volunteers, the museum is having financial difficulties. I recommend stopping by this museum and supporting it so that they can continue to operate a d hopefully expand.

Kevin

Very cool! Fun and long train ride on the mini-train. And we also we for a ride on the Speeder ride was enjoyable as well. We did the family bundle price for both and saved a few bucks. We spent an hour and a half here. Our kids liked the model train display.
