Fun place. Interesting exhibit. Tour of the aquarium is fun, especially with kids. Guides take their time and are informative. They even have a sea creature petting zoo at the end.

My 9 year old loved the touch pool and opportunity to learn about the sea cucumber. The staff were able to assist with my poor french language skills, and a staff student of biology at Concordia was especially knowledgeable and energetic, greatly enhancing our experience at Exploramer and our Gaspe vacation. Try the sea excursion too - an excellent hands on opportunity to handle and learn about crabs and starfish!

Aquarium in the basement shows typical marine life of the area. Especially loved the show where you can actually handle the sea creatures. Wasn't as impressed with the shark expo. In my opinion, the first part of the exposition overemphasised shark attacks on humans. Even if the rest of the expo tries to remedy the preconceptions we have on sharks, there's no need to further promote the fear people have in any way.

Fortunately, the interpretation section offers other supports (video, interactive questionnaire, animation) than the traditional panels, but we could add some to better animate the various sections. (Original) J'ai été un peu déçue, surtout par la section aquarium, ambiance froide et pas très vivante, avec beaucoup (trop) d'informations écrites, souvent en très petits caractères et difficiles à lire. La section interprétation propose heureusement d'autres supports (vidéo, questionnaire interactif, animation) que les panneaux traditionnels, mais on pourrait en ajouter pour mieux animer les diverses sections.

(Translated) We had visited the interior of Exploramer and were a bit disappointed. It’s soon to be yes but we expected more from an aquarium. On the other hand, the character is really nice and it is very accessible to wheelchairs (my son is in a wheelchair). The washrooms are clean and easy to access, there is ample parking and there are several benches and picnic tables. (Original) Nous avions visité l’intérieur d’Exploramer et nous avons été un brin déçu. C’est bientôt faire oui mais nous nous attendions à plus d’un aquarium. Par contre le personnage est vraiment gentil et c’est très accessible aux fauteuils roulants (mon fils est en fauteuil). Les toilettes sont propres et facile d’accès, il y a un grand stationnement et il y à plusieurs bancs et tables à picnic.

Unfortunately the entertainment was full, we had to wait 2 hours for the next one. You have to wait at the pools in advance (20 min) otherwise it's full and you can't see or touch anything. Small aquarium. Not much variety in displays. Upstairs exhibitions. Shark exhibit was interesting, but that's all there was. The other exhibits were postings about fishing history and marine biotechnology. Downstairs live exhibits, tanks were small and not well lighted. We went with 2 kids age 7 and 9. A little expensive for us, for 45min activity.

My family and I really enjoyed our visit. The staff are very friendly and well organized. They took good care not to let too many people in at once and ensured everyone followed the COVID-19 public health guidelines throughout. As such we were able to enjoy the touch tank demonstration and most of the regular exhibit offerings. The shark exhibit was interesting and important but could have been more balanced so not to vilify them as much as it does at the beginning. We appreciated the amount of information in each exhibit, especially on the scientific research surrounding marin life and ecosystems. We were hoping to go on a sea excursion but it was canceled due to high winds. The staff were very sympathetic and we were refunded without issue. We hope to return again someday to experience this beautiful region of Canada and get out on the water with Exploramer!

Great place to take the kids on a rainy day! My kids are 3 & 5, it was hard for them to keep masks on the whole time (kids of all ages are required to wear masks) but they enjoyed touching star fish, lobsters, crabs etc.

On apprend comment les manipuler, comment ils mangent, comment ils se déplacent. Notre guide était très alaise et connaissait son contenu et à su nous le transmettre. Les aquariums sont clairs et avec des espèces vivants dans notre fleuve St-Laurent. Pas trop de monde, on peut prendre le temps d'observer toutes les poissons. Le restaurant La Mer à boire adjacent est excellent autant pour le service que sa nourriture et surtout la sélection de ses aliments, la soupe aux bourgots une explosion de saveur et que dire de son sandwich super frais

I was greeted at about 4pm very nicely by the young staff. I just wanted to do a quick tour by myself of the very small exhibition ( Funded by the Canadian government) but they informed me that the last tour ended at 3:30pm and it must be absolutely guided; I didn't insist....I was just curious it was the only time I had left to kill...yet they close at 5pm. Knowing me I would have completed that exhibition in 30minutes max. So basically after 3:30 why are there 3 girls at the reception. Ohh my taxes.

We booked the Laboratory at Sea experience by phone only to arrive and be told (by our guide - not the owners or supervisors) that no one is trained for this experience so it will only be the discovery of the St. Lawrence! When we booked over the phone they knew full well that this activity was not going to take place and they never notified us! In addition to leaving the poor employees to have to deal with disgruntled customers, we were disappointed with the lack of professionalism of the management ... (Original) Nous donnons 3 étoiles pour Exploramer mais 5 étoiles à notre guide Felixe! Nous avons réservé par téléphone l’expérience du Laboratoire sur mer pour finalement arriver et se faire dire (par notre guide - et non les propriétaires ou superviseurs) que personne n’est formée pour cette expérience donc ça sera seulement la découverte du St Laurent! Lorsque nous avions réservé au téléphone ils savaient très bien que cette activité n’aura pas lieu et ils ne nous ont jamais averti! En plus de laisser les pauvres employés devoir gérer les clients mécontents, nous avons été déçus du manque de professionnalisme de la gestion…

We arrived at 10h40 and wanted to do the museum, but there is on tour at 10h30 and another at 12h00. So we couldn't do the tour. Reservation can be done online , but if you're not sure what time you will arrive , check times of tours We were able to walk around the area outside , and use the bathroom
