A relatively short uphill drive, bike ride, or walk, will be well-rewarded by the spectacular view of Victoria, that is offered atop Mt.. Tolmie. This is an ideal place to bring anyone who is a newcomer or a visitor to the city. As a long-time resident, I never tire of the views from here. It's a quiet spot too. There is ample parking for the steady stream of visitors who come to relax, get inspired, talk, walk, or think, whether by day or by night. Highly recommended!

Fun spot to drive up to. The views of downtown and the West Shore are great. It's also a prime spot to watch fireworks if you don't feel like braving the downtown crowds. Nice place for a walk too. The Gary Oak meadows are beautiful.

Best 360 view in the city. Bit of a walk up from public transportation but it is called a mount for a reason. Walk across the road from the viewing area and check out the bronze directional marker for a good orientation to where you are. Unfortunately overcrowded with tour buses in the summer with too many people exhibiting crass manners..liter, smoking - it's illegal to smoke in a park here plus it's tinder dry in the summer and just general inconsiderate behaviour. It's not your private playground just because you paid to see it but I guess just a sign of the times given the global tourism epidemic. Sigh

The park isn't super busy or anything but it still offers a spectacular view of Victoria and the surrounding area. You can even see the Olympic mountains from the park. It is in a residential area so it's not exactly closer downtown, but the park is easily accessible if you have a car. For food or restrooms, you'd need to drive back into the city.

A beautiful park for a walk, run, walking a dog, to bring children, or just to sit at the top and enjoy a 360 degree view of Victoria. There are multiple parking lots at the top of the hill. There are several different paths through the park. The spring is a wonderful time to observe local wildflowers. This is a fine example of a Gary Oak ecosystem. There is a flat water reservoir on top which is fun for children to rollerskate on. There are many benches throughout the park for sitting and contemplating.

Great for a short workout on the bike - do some up and downs till you're cooked. This place is great! View in the city is very nice, it is one of the Garry Oak ecosystems, so the Camas are very on point. Good pokemon go location, lots of benches. Their are a ton of little deer trails around however some times you do run into a wild sleeping bag or two. It has a charm to it that is Rocky and unique. Tour buses frequent in the on season however so be aware of that.

Amazing views from all the trails family and pet owners enjoy. During bad weather you can elect to park on the Observation point right against the rails, saving you from an easy hundred foot drop. Unfortunately there are no bathrooms so make sure you go before driving up. It is easily accessible from either the Saint Micheals University side or the University of Victoria side off of Cedar Hill Crossroads.

Mount Tolmie is such a great natural place to escape, relax and inhale fresh air. If you have visitors from out of town, it’s a must to take them to Mount Tolmie. Do not forget to take your binocular if you have one. You can get great view of this beautiful city we live in. Many cruise ships passengers visit this place and found it such astonishing. I encourage Saanich Municipality to install public washrooms on the mountain. Enjoy your Tim Horton coffee or Starbucks coffee on the mountain and trust me the coffee tastes different on the mountain. Take lots of pictures on the rocks especially if you have kids. It’s such great memories.

The trails make for a fairly easy hike with a few steep inclines, or you can make your own way up through the Garry oak meadows. At the top, there are views of the surrounding area including the Ocean, the San Juan Islands, Greater Victoria, Mt Douglas, and the Sooke Hills. On a clear day, there are amazing views of Mt Baker and the Olympic Mountains.

Great view of Victoria and the sea (almost 180 view of the sea). Nice walking trails trough the mountain and quiet a bit of picnic tables. You can also park and stay in the car if too chilly outside. Oh! And you have access to internet with Shaw Open loll.
