Great local library and connected to all the other ones in Victoria you can get a book reserved and delivered no problem and staff have always been kind and helpful!

Nice library. Has a decent meeting room for small gatherings. Staff was friendly. I booked the meeting room through their help - they were quick to respond to emails and providing any assistance that we needed.

I love the Oak Bay Library! The books are super good at the staff always have such friendly smiles on thier face and can always help! It’s also a great place for teens to do homework, my friends and I don’t go there that often but when we do it’s such a great space to work in!

I've been in to this library at least 6 times in the past four months and no one ever greets me, or even looks up or over in acknowledgement. Seems like a basic courtesy. Doesn't make a person feel too welcome .

I don’t usually go to this branch but checked availability of some items that showed in stock there and I wanted to get them right away rather than place a hold and have them delivered to my usual branch. I went in and searched for the item on the shelf and didn’t see it and it still showed as available on the app so I went to the counter to ask for help looking for it. I was told that the app I am using is outdated and not supported and that in the future I should be using their website with a link on my phone. I have been using the app with no issues and am able to search and place items on hold. I asked again if I can get help checking for availability of the item and I felt like I was being a bother to the staff member especially when she said ‘it would just be easier if you looked on the shelf’ which I had already done before coming to ask for help. She then confirmed in the system that the item should be in stock and walked over to the shelf and checked the back room and told me that it was out. She did offer to place a hold for me but I found the whole experience very odd and felt like I was being an inconvenience which shouldn’t be the case as staff should be ready and willing to help.
