REVIEWS OF Wile Carding Mill Museum IN Nova Scotia

Got married at this venue in August. You can just make a donation to the museum. Staff was absoulutely amazing. They accomadated us with smiles and happiness. The property is beautiful for a small wedding. We had about 40 guests and it was perfect. The falls were great and we were able to take pictures on the grounds as well as inside the mill next to the big wheel. The staff was beyond wonderful. Rain or shine this location proved to be a great spot.

My guide was full of historic information and the tour was so enjoyable. It took about an hour, and they have hidden stuffed toy mice for kids to find...

We opted to go see this local museum on a rainy day and were given a lovely tour by the museum staff. This place is really interesting and I enjoyed that many of the furnishings and all of the equipment were original rather than being pieced together from period appropriate sources.

The frozen falls are most beautiful in winter, although the museum is closed.

My wife and I dropped by on a hot and humid Tuesday afternoon and had an excellent tour given by Karen. She was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly as she answered our numerous questions. This small heritage site is well worth the quick and enjoyable tour.

Do not miss this if you are interested in historical buildings and how wool is made into yarn. Yes it looks a little shabby at first, in no way meant as a negative, but that is how it would have been and you really get the feel of the conditions young girls worked in. The staff are really informative and you can get hands on with the wool. We went back for a second time a week later.

Very small and has Garbage laying around all over it. It would make a great spot for wedding/Prom photos if it was well maintained and kept clean.

Thanks for making an open doors day! Please stay away from becoming a wedding day photo spot ???? You are doing great job.

Wonderful museum with hands on demonstration of how wool was processed and made from raw wool into yarn or batting! Betty Jo gave us our tour and I really enjoyed how she found ways to connect her information with my family member's individual interests! Thanks Betty Jo!

The staff are actually in period costumes and show how the wool is processed. Visitors can also card some wool themselves.

A must see! Well guided and explained. How they mechanically cleaned and prepared wool for making cloth, etc. Check ahead for hours if you go out of the short summer season.

Closed due to staff shortage. Wow. All the people unemployed and no one to work.

P Pahl

Wow - there wasn't a question we asked that the employees weren't able to answer. Very knowledgeable, and one had an ancestor who had worked there! Fascinating history.
