Pleasant unrushed leisurely tour and visit staff extremely knowledgeable and helpful a lot of area history and knowledge not just strictly confined to the one family this one is a hidden gem!

We came in on Monday August 12th on a free admission day. We saw a note on the door that said "Ring bell after entering, staff is in attic..." We rang the bell twice AND used the bathroom and no one came down to greet us, unfortunately. My partner even yelled "hello?" Up the attic staircase and no one responded. Not sure what was going on there.....overall wasn't very impressed.

Hubby and I enjoyed the tour their was so much to see and experience.The guide was a student who enjoyed his job and shared his knowledge. Plan to make another visit this summer.Loved it.

Very informative young guide brings history to life in this hidden gem of a museum. Wonderful way to spend a couple of hours on a rainy day. We stopped here on way to Halifax and enjoyed their delicious tea served on a Tuesday.
