This museum is amazing for its tiny stature. They filled the space beautifully and I love how interactive the pieces are.

Quaint interactive museum, we learned a lot about the local history, i.e. Nipissin Natives resided here for 10,000 years... fabulous gift shop

Nick Diaz

cool museum if you like to learn.

Barbara Sanderson

The museum has permanent displays of railway history with some hands on experiences and videos on the ground floor, and recently made over the upper floor reminiscent of old Main Street. It has smaller versions of store fronts with original articles in them, and write ups about each one, including the theatre, where a couple of folks can sit and watch a video of a parade. It's very well done, and you get a real sense of the history and people that built North Bay.

A little pricey for the HBC gear, but that's not unusual. A great little place of local knowledge though, with a wonderful gallery that can be rented out for events and productions.

I was actually trying to post for The Farmers Market. It was so busy down there today! Lots of good buys. The balloon guy was there, there was many Freshly Baked Goods that were very tempting, various crafts and lots of people with their dogs. I like the bar soap.

Very interesting piece of canadian history.

It's a very little museum focused mainly on heritage. would like to see a little bit more interactive material as this museum is relatively small in size. There is a frequent amount of one-off events that do take place there which can make it more entertaining and better value. Would recommend going here if you are from out of town.

I was here once in 2001 when the station was being renovated. It's nice to see that it's become a musum.

Emma Clare McGee

Some very cool stuff. Things for all people. History of Canada, trains, planes and more. They have discounts for students too! Only thing is that it is clear they could use some more funding as there are bits that don’t quite make sense on their own and have clearly come from somewhere else. But over all loved it spent close to an hour exploring everything.

We had no idea that the museum existed till we were driving around the downtown area. The museum is a jem. We loved learning about the local history. With numerous interactive displays and activities we enjoyed ourselves, Of course for any train enthusiast the train simulator and the large scale model trains traveling over head will make thier day. Overall it's a great museum for the family.

I highly recommend a visit to the North Bay Museum, for adults and kids alike. Housed in the old railway station is this fascinating display of history of rail, logging, the area and the community. Lots of interactive exhibits and things to try. So much love and care in each exhibit. Fully bilingual. Conveniently located next to bus terminal, splash pad and tunnel to waterfront trail. I spent an hour at the museum and could have spent much longer. Well worth a visit!
