If you want to see how army men used to live , where they used to sleep, eat how marching was done what is the meaning of drums then you must visit this place. Keep your camera ready. Morning and evening you will get good photo composition. Keep at least 2 hours to see everything.

Great place to go - very scenic, open area, great for groups and families, costs only $15 to tour the Fort. You can take photos anywhere of anything.

Old fort niagara light house is an old decommissioned light that has been replaced by the light the coast guard station across the river uses. This is very well taken care of, which allows you to ascend the stairs to were the light use to be. You can see the lens from the light house at the forts museum. Interestingly, it was involved in a Eagle Scout project. The staff here is wonderful and this is well worth your time.

Ryan Dangler

Cool place and a lot of history. Great staff.

Bishop Nettles

Must see if remotely interested in area history and only 20 minutes north of Niagara State Park

Veronica Ha!

We spent hours there because we enjoyed it so much. We were pleasantly surprised that our parking entry fee receipt got us a dollar for dollar discount to the museum. Often and regularly scheduled artillery demonstrations within the fort Very knowledgeable guides. Snack shop within that serves hot and cold meals, and many fun flavors of ice cream.

Heiko Eßer-Weidemann

a good exhibition on the history of the lighthouse and a little climb. Good visibility, but very warm in summer.

Cool to visit in the lighthouse but the stairs to the top are very narrow, steep and the space is very cramped for someone who is a larger size. I didn't go up because i'm claustrophobic, but my husband took some great pictures at the top.

Unni James

Beautiful place, lots of picnic area and bbq grills. There is play area for kids and entrance fee is 8$. Easy access to the lake and water is clean. Swimming pool and wade pool available which is added features. Fort is excellent to know some history. Fort entrance and swimming pool are at additional fees.

Eric Beachy

The museum is wonderful. The grounds are impressive and awe inspiring. If you can visit while the interpretive staff are are here, they're amazing too! A great visit if you are interested in any way by early colonial and American history.

Ramkumar Esakkiappan

Beautiful place. Went late after 5 PM and was closed. The park and lake view was wonderful.

Deb O

Nice lighthouse! We ran out of time to really check it out. It's conveniently located by Fort Niagra.

David Ortega

Stunning location. Enough parking, very well maintained!

Jacqueline RICHARDS

The Fort was closed but we were allowed to take pictures.

Historic, beautiful, tragic. Sitting at the intersection the hopes and dreams of Native, French, English, and American peoples, this small piece of land has made an indelible mark on 300 years of history. In many ways the history of this Fort is a microcosm of America: a dream with an uncertain future.

Chris Russell

Light house was great. The fort and museum staff were also great. The reenactors were nice and informative. The video was also very knowledge filled. We patronized the gift shop also I hope this place stays open a long time. They are keeping history alive.

justin rice

A fun place to go on a beautiful day. Great for families or even to mix up your date ideas.

Cory St. Croix

If you are going to Niagara Falls for the weekend I suggest a day trip to this fort. It has an amazing museum before you go to the fort. You can learn about its founding all the way up till today. It has a movie you can watch every half hour which was very informative. Then the fort itself is something to see. Inside they have everything set up as it would have been back in the day and it is truly a fun experience.

Joan Mansfield

It was very interesting and informative. A good lesson in history! We didn't get to see much of the museum and did not see inside of lighthouse (not even sure that is even an option. We needed more than 2 hours to see everything.

canadian side is always better but....border is closed while I visited.... good park to walk... not far from niagara falls.

Eric Miller

Niagara Amateur Radio Club operated on air from the lighthouse this afternoon making distant contacts with other amateurs in observation of The Parks on Air. We were operating at 100 watts peak envelope power on a dipole antenna supported by the lighthouse and two lofty trees 50 meters apart.

Gregory Mullins

There are way better ways to spend your money while visiting Niagara... The tour did not meet any of my expectations... They literally played a history channel segment from the early 90's... This is somewhere you should be able to visit for free... Way too much preparation and not enough presentation...

Carmen Gonzalez

The hour free tour gives you a tremendous insight of the sacrifice of the lives of the men of the fort.

Kathleen Dennis

It's been about 45 years since I visited Old Fort Niagra. The grounds are beautifully kept, the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about their job. The buildings, some built in the late 1700's are kept in excellent condition. The gift shop is small but very nice. The visitor center was very clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. History buffs should definitely see this site. Even the kids enjoy it.
