Didn't actually get to go to the museum. It was closed the entire time we were in Niagara Falls. But there is reading material in the hallway and beautiful murals outside. I'm very sad I didn't get a chance to see the inside artifacts and information.

Fabulous museum. Prior to go there, watch on Netflix the movie called Harriet (2019) so get a better understanding of the Railroad underground movement and about Harriet Tubman. The museum is cozie, modern, chic but the best part is the gentleman from the entrance that has a fantastic calm energy that radiates warmth, love and a good fuzzy feeling ! Also a part of his life story is being presented at the end of the exhibition ! What a cool combination of the right person at the right place ! Whomever paid and made this museum a reality: FANTASTIC JOB ! We are from Romania - Europe and we thoroughly enjoyed this museum !

We always try to stop to feed our souls with culture and education on every trip. We looked this heritage center up and we are so glad that we had an opportunity to stop here. Went on the tour when this was offered and the lady was amazing! Forgive me I cannot remember her name but, she shared great knowledge on each step of the tour. Recommended! Knowledge is power!

Excellent experience. I thoroughly enjoyed walking through the Underground Railroad Museum in Niagara Falls, NY. There were many interactive exhibits showing the strength and resilience of our Ancestors, and the quest they embarked on for freedom. The staff was friendly and helpful, and there is also a gift shop located near the entrance. A wonderful place to take the family.

It was very interesting and informative. Only issue was the size of the facility. Lots of good facts were made available for you to enjoy.

Small museum but very clean, nicely done. Full of facts. My 12 year old niece really enjoyed learning the history of the underground railroad

There is nothing like a man learning about his history and no better place to learn about what slavery did to black than the Niagara falls underground railroad heritage museum

Fola

Interactive learning perfect for self guided tours and even better with a private tour guide. I've taken 4th graders, high school students and college students for tours and it was awesome for them all.

Nice little musuem. Wouldn't take more than an hour and change to go through, but definitely talk with the staff to learn more! Enjoyed the history lesson and refresher.

Jillian Rice

Good history, great stories. Not very big so you can actually take your time and read all of the exhibits. Staff was nice. Not much to choose from in the gift shop. Worth visiting.

So much information packed in that little place. I've learned so much of black history that I never learned in school. Very cool place to visit.

It was a really cool place until the end where the they put modern day hate on the wall that ruined the whole thing completely overpriced to walk through a 5-minute exhibit $10 a person

Teri Browne

My first time visiting and it is a wonderful museum that is a must-do for anyone visiting Western New York. Highly recommend!

Not to be missed experience to the Underground Railroad in Niagara Falls, NY. Tucked inside the newly restored Customhouse museum, a tiny space is transformed into a true to life journey on the pathway to freedom. Guests retrace the final footsteps to freedom as they walk across a simulated span of the Suspension Bridge that carried Harriet Tubman and others over the Niagara River to Canadian soil. Another room depicts the Cataract House Hotel, through artifacts and state of the art video imagery, in a multi dimensional rendering of an active underground station and it's heroic operators. In a third space the legacy of the Underground Railroad is carried into the present, through the video diaries of local citizens fighting for modern-day freedoms. And there is much, much more! Throughout the exhibit I felt as if I was witness to actual moments in history. Stunning soundscapes and moving imagery meet the viewer at every turn. One can move slowly through the rooms or experience it all within a few minutes depending on the time you have. Perfect for school groups, heritage tours, history lovers or those waiting for their Amtrak train to arrive in the station upstairs. Bravo to the City of Niagara Falls and the history community that made this into a reality.

Definitely a must see when visiting Niagra, NY. Took about 45 minutes to get through the exhibit.

We really enjoyed it. Very kid friendly, spent about an hour there

Me and my fiancee was able to attend the grand opening of this museum. The exhibits were visually amazing combined with great historical data. If you're ever in town I would recommend you make a stop by the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center.

This museum makes you want to continue to learn more about the city, past and present. Hopefully the city can build up,expand and or extend the vision of the history of certain areas of the city. The murals that are painted should be extended around the parks, schools, and various areas around town.

Judy Thoms

Beautiful and brilliant museum. Tells riveting and important stories of the history of slavery and how inventively people in Niagara helped slaves to escape to freedom in Canada. A must-see, if you come to Niagara Falls.

Niagara Falls Underground Railroad is truly a hidden gem. The layout of the museum creates an amazing self-guided tour with rich history. I never knew the history of Cataract House and the many slaves who sought freedom in Canada by way of the river. I didn't take pictures of the main exhibits as a picture will not capture the true essence. If you're able to visit, budget an hour and dive into some amazing history.

This place is kind of small and I almost didn't notice it, but it's full of a lot of info you didn't see mentioned in other Niagara museums. The message you get from this museum is pretty powerful.

Great self guided tour. I loved the videos! Very informative. My next trip to Niagara, I am going to make plans to visit the Cataract house because of this place

Very nice little museum talking about the local history and involvement with the underground railroad. Professional displays were easy to interact with. Wish there was room for a bit more info on other parts of the RR and movement.

Very professional, knowledgeable and accomodating staff. Thank Mr. Joseph for your kindness and time. What an amazing space. Welcoming atmosphere. Amazing tours and information. A must visit if you are in the area and/or special trip. Rich History on display.

Garry Wood

This is a must see anywhere in our America. Especially here near the border of Canada. The displays were done very well. Very effective in using individual experience. Also how important to note that the search for freedom still exists around this world. We took a lot of time and tried to listen, read and see all of the displays. Thanks to all connected to share this reminder how freedom is so cherished.

I thought Niagara Falls Underground Railroad exhibit was informative and educational. Would have liked it to be a bit larger. I would like to see more advertising for it and encourage more people to visit, it's along the Niagara scenic route.

Camta Rijssen

A small yet informational museum that shares stores from the city’s history. Beautifully designed to highlight the horrors of our past and ways we can move forward. Thank you for teaching this crucial part of history!
