As you can read, the average score it has is virtually the top, and it's founded on a large number of scores, so we may be pretty sure that the assessment is very faithful. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to put tatings when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Museum belongs to the category of Historical place museum.
Amazing views and even a guided tour that explains some of the history here. It's worth the drive just to soak in the views alone. I travelled all the way here from Austin, TX and still can't wait to come back. The view of the Ocean stretches on as far as the eye can see, and the historic feel of the lighthouse is beyond incredible. There are a number of informative placards scattered about that tell of the rich history of the Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse, and even explains the signaling methods used by the lighthouse operator to help ships avoid running ashore into the rocky outcroppings below. Before there was radio communication there had to be a very precise method of communication to ensure the safety of the sea-faring captains. I'd rate this experience 10 stars if it were possible!
Amazing scenery here! The tidal are great fun to explore. We arrived early so the guide that's usually here wasn't available. I think I would have learned a lot about the complex ecosystem that can be seen here.
Very well laid out with trails, amazing views, informative plaques, well worth the visit
Lovely! Calm and serene place with birds ????
Cute displays inside but be sure and take trail around lighthouse to see views. Easy walk. Can go a little further to see even more. Be sure to walk to the viewpoint of the water.
This is an amazing Lighthouse and the History that goes with it. Cedric the Canadian tour guide broke down how lighthouse Keepers worked in periodic time frames at the lighthouse. Definitely take in all Trails as they short and give breathtaking views
Beautiful, lots of trails so much to see and learn
Fascinating stories told by Ranger.
This lighthouse is quite famous for the sunset pictures. You can see photographers flocking the place right before sunset. There are lots of walking trails around this place for all levels which you can enjoy. There are interpreters around this place who can guide you about the place and it's history.
Excellent exhibits and super knowledgeable interpreters. Unfortunate that the tower is inaccessible, but it is after all, a functioning lighthouse operated by the coast guard. Nice paths around the property with amazing views.
Beautifil place and awesome view
It's the best place on earth love it
Parks Canada staff was on site to explain all about the lighthouse and local history - they even were able to do a quick spiel on the Tablelands which was awesome since that trail had no Parks staff at it that day.
Wonderful historical experience. Well worth the visit!
Great walking trails and lots of info about the lighthouse
Beautiful small walking trails, great for kids. Interesting museum inside, with very helpful and knowledgeable staff
Short trails with fantastic views of Rocky Harbour and the mouth of Bonne Bay. Parks staff are fantastic and knowledgeable about the area.
A good place to go after supper!
Hidden little gem. Lots of history about the family that lived there for 4 decades. Nice small little coastal hikes around the lighthouse. Your guides onsite and really know there stuff about history and the area.
Beautiful... a must see... stunning views!!!
We were lucky enough to be able to get in on a tour with a Parks Canada guide on the day we visited. The historical significance of the lighthouse and the role it played in the lives of the people in the surrounding area was fascinating. …
Awesome place to check out the ocean views, catch the sunset and take a walk. The hill is steep but everything is well maintained and the cliffside is fenced off for safety. …
A very nice place to spend a few hours. There are many trails to hike, some lead down to the ocean.
Beautiful sunsets Part of Gros Morne National Park
One of the most breathtaking views I have ever seen. Beautiful spot. My kids and I went there in early May when it was still quite cold, but it was still fantastic. I imagine that it would be even better in warmer weather.
Excellent little museum, well layed out with the key facts about the lighthouse and surrounding area.
Great spot. Amazing views. We were lucky to spot some whales in the harbor.
Interesting location, gorgeous scenery
Nice tour and hike. Great views
You can go to through the lighthouse but can't go up to the top. Good history of the light house keeper and how government treated their workers. Hard work to keep the lighthouse going. No gift shop here. Beautiful scenery and very good picnic area with tables. Guide is humorous and very informative.
Very cool spot. Has some neat history of the family that tender the lighthouse for decades,. And how lighthouses work generally. The trails around the property are great too, as are the views of the surrounding area. Be sure to head down to the shore and check out the #driftwoodshelternfld !
Gorgeous views. Bring a mask to go inside. Take the trail to the left of the lighthouse 200m for the photo I took.
Showed some friends our gem of a lighthouse with some of the mist spectacular sunsets.
Historic lighthouse with an interesting guided tour and great views of the bay. There's also a couple of short hikes nearby.
Beautiful views/trails, my only complaint would be that the parking lot is a bit tight. During the busy tourism season and it's hard to find parking. If busses are there as well its practically impossible to manoeuvre the parking lot.
Showed up just in time for the tide pool tour. Short little walk to the beach after a brief instruction. The guide was awesome! Loud enough for those in the back to hear him clearly and he did a great job of explaining what kind ocean life …
You were allowed to circle the lighthouse for great photo shots.
Even in the off season, dressed with appropiate clothes and footwear the visit makes for a pleasant and relaxing day out.
Nice little walking trails. Guides around if needed. Beautiful views to be seen.
Beautiful coast. Super easy walk. Check out the driftwood house on the north coast in Lobster Cove!
Photo opps galore with a small museum full of lighthouse living conditions and its former occupants .
Recently visited this lighthouse and the grounds around it. It's still a functionnable lighthouse thats ran by Coast Guards, but the house attached to it is ran by Parks Canada. …
I didn't take the tour within the lighthouse but the trails around the property takes you to a great vantage point where you can see Northern Gannets diving for fish. The area also has picnic tables where you can eat lunch before traveling further North. I love this spot.
Interesting historical information. Good and relatively easy walk-paths around the lighthouse. Exceptional view of the ocean.
Beautiful spot to visit and watch the sunset. The lighthouse closes early @ 5:30pm
Ample parking space. Good scenic views just walking from the parking lot to the lighthouse. Trails around the lighthouse were well-marked. Trail path seemed well-maintained. Great views from the lookouts.
Gorgeous stop. Great open areas to play and toss a ball around too.
While in Rocky Harbour we stopped by 2 times. We really liked the trails and lighthouse.
It was great! Beautiful scenery and friendly staff!
I once came here and saw whales jumping out of the water. It was awesome and si beautiful
Great little displays about life in the area back when the lighthouse was operational. The stop has wifi surprisingly but access into the light room itself was blocked when we were there.
Fantastic for the rocks
A lovely lighthouse and a beautiful view of Rocky Harbour.
Very scenic area perched on a small cliff over the surrounding ocean. Comes with an interesting museum that explains the life of the people who lived around the area and the utility of the lighthouse. There are also trails that take you though the woods down to the bottom of the cliffs.
Good interpretation center. Did not cost anything to enter building. Note you cannot go to the top of light house. Several very small hilly trails to explore and find a garden and look outs
Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse is a beautiful building with friendly staff and a lot of information to find inside. You can walk around the lighthouse on numerous trails, observe the nature and take unforgettable pictures.
Lighthouse was closed but the grounds were nice to walk around.
Lovely museum about the life of an old lighthouse that's still operating, great displays, friendly staff, (but then everyone in Newfoundland is friendly). There's also a nice walk down through the windblown scrub trees to a rocky cove, very nice place to visit. Plus the toilet block in the car park is clean :)
we used our Stoller on the trails but I would definitely not call them stroller friendly LOL. beautiful spot though
Ruggedly beautiful setting on Newfoundland`s Northwest coast looking into the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The lighthouse itself is very beautiful, but when coupled with the amazing NL sunset it is beyond any expectations.
Our boy found a crow carcass to poke at (the highlight of his vacation) but his mother and I were charmed by beautiful seascapes and walking trails bordered with wild strawberries.
A gorgeous spot, easy to get to, with an informative bit of history on what it was like to be a lighthouse keeper. If you have not yet been north it gives you a good sense of just how rugged Newfoundland can be. Bear Cove also offers a lot of amenities that will be a bit more sparse going north.
Worth a stop by if you're in the area.
Quaint but the beach area is much nicer
Felt like we were on top of the world! Incredible 300 ° Views!!! Wow!
The scenery is beautiful and all the trails around the lighthouse are short and easy to do. I highly recommend the trails as you will see amazing views of not only the lighthouse but the surrounding scenery.
Nice views ,cool trails, but I was not able to get a great shot of the lighthouse
What a wonderful piece of History it's an amazing site just to visit and walk around but if you get a chance definitely take one of the chores done by Parks Canada where they give you the entire history of the lighthouse you will learn so much not only about it but about the history of Newfoundland and shipping and fishing and all the boats that have been a staple of newfoundland's economy
Neat little trails and good places to sit and enjoy the sights. The lighthouse keeper's residence is neat too.
Great place to know the history of Newfoundland.
Beautiful walk along the cliffs. Lighthouse itself was closed (the guide leaves around 530 p.m.).
Beautiful scenery!!
Got there late so we didn't get in the lighthouse but the scenery was fantastic, especially at sunset.
Beautiful scenery. Lighthouse was closed so we didn't get the interpretation.
Old days way of Lighthouse keeper
This is a great place to visit on a relaxing day. You can park almost right to the light house, and there's a museum inside. There are a few little trails around which are very easy to walk.
A must go to! Walk the little trails to the waters edge.
The young man working in the museum in the lighthouse was knowledgeable and kind.
Beautiful place for a visit! Although the lighthouse was closed when we visited, we still enjoyed walking the grounds and taking pictures!
Very beautiful location. The Park Canada interpretation tour is rather dull however, despite the effort of the guide, is not worth the time.
Very informative and interactive. Great view, very well maintained
Lots of history in this lighthouse. Great views of the ocean.
great spot for a picnic or a quick hike and a lot of interesting information. parks Canada staff great as always
Lighthouse closed...beautiful trails and surroundings
Beautiful spot. Very friendly and knowledgeable guide at the lighthouse.
Loved this. Friendly staff, hot tea and learned about the musical instrument the Ugly Stick. Fun!
I didn't go inside the light house. The property is gorgeous and walked down the trail where we saw gannets diving for lunch. We packed a lunch and had a picnic. I took a video of the place and won't upload.
I love history , and I meet my cousin I never meet before
It is easy to find and access. It is not open to the public but has some beautiful views and good history panels mounted to read. There is also a washroom on the grounds.
Great enthusiastic bilingual interpreters. Knew so much about the history of the area and had incredible true tales. Nice little family friendly hikes to look for sea creatures.
A nice lighthouse with lots of trails to walk very scenix
Walking trails are awsome with great views
Lovely place, great views of Rocky Harbour. We didn't go in and explore because there was a group just going in and with covid it was only one bubble at a time (15 mins to explore each)
It was fun, wish their walk ways where more handy cap accessible.
One of my favorite places in all the world.
What a great spot. Great views.
Is a very nice lighthouse. Met a relative of the old keepers
The park ranger was spectalular with her information, the place is just beautiful and the hikes sweet!
Beautiful sunsets are seen here! Nice walking trails around the property give views of Rocky Harbour and out into the gulf.
Pretty incredible history and story. Lovely ‘quick’ stop with some easy walking trails along the coast to stretch your legs. Trails can get a bit boggy after a rain so wear appropriate footwear for the conditions!
Beautiful location with a well maintained network of short walking trails. A perfect location to watch the sunset. Rocks, water, lighthouse and a view - a postage stamp of Newfoundland.
Excellent little paths and a fun lighthouse to explore
Go at sunset, amazing view and spectacular photo opportunity!
Great trails. Have restrooms with running water. A lighthouse keeper (guide) was there. Very insightful and full of the history on this lighthouse and of the area.
Great views and a lot of interesting information and knowledgeable staff inside the lighthouse. Would definitely recommend stopping by if in the area and interested in learning about the history of the area.
Lovely view. Very well preserved. It's a must on any tourist trip. ????????????
This was an awesome surprise during our stay in Gros Morne National Park. Beautiful views from the multiple trails. Good for a couple of hours.
Beautiful lighthouse with an incredible view. There is a guide here, but she did not interact with us; we looked around on our own as she ignored us.
Excellent interpretive centre about the family that lived there and their life. Staff were super friendly had some local treats to sample. Little trail to explore with a nice view.
Very interested. The information is well presented and easy to follow. It is interesting and also a great saviour from the wind and rain when needed The park employees were eager and keen to answer questions
