What a beautiful place. If you can manage it stay overnight. It's so cozy and welcoming there. But definitely worth the day trip too.

Our trip to Labrador was defined by vast distances, solitudes and impressive never ending forests. We made a day trip to Battle harbour which proved to be one of the highlights of our adventure. We booked a day tour on the Cloud 9 boat tours from Mary’s Harbour. The small boat with 8 passengers took about one hour to get to our destination, avoiding numerous icebergs on the way. Battle Harbour although small, the island is about one km. Long , offers some breathtaking views of icebergs, whale watching and lots of history. For almost two hundred years this was the center of the cod fishery in eastern Canada, the remaining structures offer a glimpse of the past from the fish processing plant to the doctors house and a small hotel. The island guide offered an educational tour of the history and present times , intertwined with humour and anecdotes.
