I fell in love with the breeze and beautiful vistas at this place! Park staff provide information and interesting tours of the site, including underground areas. Fascinating place with a collection of artifacts in the building.

D B

Beau-tiful landscape, definitely able to see why this was selected as a location for a key fort during the wars. Can see for what seems like miles in any direction and the manmade bunkers conceal what's really inside before you make it to the fort itself. Definitely recommend a visit if you're driving by during the summer anyway! And getting a tour is as always, worth the wait.

Love seeing history preserved. The museum wasn't open on my early morning stop but I enjoyed myself walking the grounds and seeing the views. Great place to stretch your legs. I have Acadian ancestry from the Beaubassin area so it was interesting to walk where my ancestors had lived. Not hard to see why they picked this location for a fort, the view is endless.

Such a beautiful place you can explore the ruins of the old forts that once stood there. Sadly the main building was closed would have loved a proper tour of the fort but just amazing to see.

Letitia C

This was a beautiful spot to stop on our drive between Halifax and Moncton. Lots of.history. Kids (8 and 10) loved the xplorers booklet and running around the ruins of the fort. Found out where we arrived that you could camp there!! Putting that experience on the list for next time.

Julian Wong

This is a nice place to visit if you are pass through this area. Definitely worth the trouble to stop over. The place is rich in history and provide an understanding how the wars were fought in the past. I can't help but imagine the brave soldiers fighting in such openness where there is hardly a place to take cover. The place is spacious and it is super peaceful in the early morning. The view is picturesque in every direction.

Steve Matthews

A wonderful historic site with a knowledgeable staff and a small museum. The ramparts have not been full restored - lacking the gun emplacements and many of the buildings which would have been found outside the fort walls but it's still a good spot to visit and learn.

A beautiful location. You can walk around some of the remains of this five sided fort. There is a small museum with friendly staff. Went with my family and it was a pretty nice small museum and we got to walk around outside all around the fort too. The place can get a bit windy with all the open areas around. Bring a coat. Place is open during the summer too. Alot of price still go at all hours of the day to play Pokemon go game there. Only advise I can give them is it would be nice to have a light post in the parkinglot. That's it :)

An amazing gem of a place. Historically not a decisive fort but a great place to learn about historical warfare and history in general. The site is amazing as well as the view. Its also a great place to stop for a picnic and they have group tours also available.

I just enjoy military history and any Canadian history in general. My biggest disappointment with Fort Beausejour was the lack of information on site. The museum was closed due to Covid which I understand, but the plaques around the grounds were only minimally informative compared to other sites I've visited. However we were lucky to meet an amazing lady from Parks Canada who was doing her tour around the grounds and she was very friendly and informative. I just wish our federal government would put more resources into preserving this Heritage and history we are fortunate enough to still have fragments of

Nate Keenan

This is a very nice and picturesque Park I don't really know the history behind it but I really enjoy walking my dog here. There is always a nice breeze and you are looking downhill into Nova Scotia so the view is just magnificent. I also like to come here to fly my drone it is not in a no-fly zone and there is some very good scenery. This is a good place to fly your drone if you are a novice because there is Big open flat areas and then they're all is also more challenging areas for more experienced Pilots. It is a very clean place and I always take out what I take in with me I also clean up after my dog it seems that everyone else does as well

Was interested in checking out the Fort as we have been past many times. Before going looked into the history and significance of Fort Cumberland and how it changed hands etc. I was quite surprised at how when we got there , that there was almost none of the later history of the fort. Everything was focused on its early history but almost NOTHING at all on the reasons leading up to the deportation or of the Fort afterwards. Seems to scream of revisionist history. Not sure for the reasons behind this. I would suggest people investigate the history of this place before visiting to really understand it better.

Behold one and all to the beauty of this historical landmark of the maritimes. Not only does it feature a panoramic high view between NS and NB with the lowlands and Fundy opening between them, with especially spectacular sunsets, but there are blueberries on those hills. The fort is a blast from the past. Enjoy the green hills and marvel at the thought of those who had fallen before back when the British came to expell the Acadians who, although claiming neutrality, opened fire as the Brits approached. The rolling greens and ruins peaceful nature are a fascinating juxtaposition to the violence that led to our current political climate. As one of Acadian heritage this site sits between fluctuating accommodations and attitudes among the Anglos and Francos who, with the natives, built our region into the land we all share now. Those sunsets on those hills help one remember that this is a world we all must share and everyone is entitled to walk free without persecution.

Heather Theobald

Tremendous view from the summit. Very well posted information. Only one drawback , closes too early in the tourist season. Visitors in September from Ontario disappointed unable to see exhibits.

(Translated) It’s a fantastic site and very well animated! There are guided tours and we were very well accompanied. My husband loves forts and he really enjoyed his visit! Camping there would have been fun! We had a lot of fun! The restaurants are however expensive for the quality and quantity of food served. It was good, but overpriced. Bringing your lunch would be a better option, but no place in the shade or set up for that! So it's free with the national sites pass but it's expensive once there !! But you will spend the day there if you tire of it!
