Beautiful property with a number of historic buildings, including a a jailhouse and courthouse. Intriguing local artifacts and colourful tales of hangings, sailings, pirating, maple sugaring and politics. Washrooms and giftshop on site. Lots of surprises here including a WW1 German gun, captured at Vimy Ridge. Plan to stay here a couple of hours.

Always a fun and educational experience. If you see Ava Lee in the gift shop or Nathan working the grounds be sure to say hi. They work hard for their money.

Great spot to learn some history of Albert County. An old courthouse and a variety of buildings to visit. One of Canada's prime ministers is featured here as he was a resident of the area. An old jailhouse with a story of murder and mayhem!

Fortunat Basque

Great place to visit, lot's of area history, and artifact's.

Dania Fawaz

It's a village type of museum. There's not a lot walking, and could easily be done in a few hours. I would have loved more interactions between the people inside the different buildings. Another thing, there was one building we couldn't enter because we had to pay extra. It kind of sucks when you pay an entrance fee and then you have to pay more for a building. This has soooooo much potential for more visitors.

An often overlooked yet invaluable piece of New Brunswick history. The museum features a visitor center, surrounded by several historic buildings on one side, and the beautiful Shepody Bay on the other. Once you visit the center, you can either take a guided tour, or wander around by yourself. I chose the latter, though the gentleman at the visitor center was super-friendly and more than happy to give me a brief and very fascinating history of the area. Once you pay the eight dollar fee, you get a ticket, so once you've finished touring around, you can head back to the center and show your ticket for a free hot drink and a snack. The visitor center also features very reasonably priced books and crafts. If you take your time, it takes about an hour or so to see the entire museum, and the buildings are in very close proximity to each other. I definitely recommend visiting the Albert County Museum, and hope this place will be around for generations to come.

Had a good time visiting and learning here today. It was sad that not every aspect of the museum was available due to COVID-19 but what we were able to see was neat. We even learned something new about New Brunswick history. For $10 entry/each it was a neat way to spend an hour or so and learn some New Brunswick history and take some tacky tourist pictures!

Nicole Landry

This area and all the buildings were so interesting to explore and learn about. The walking was hard on me due to a leg injury but we loved having our own tour guide. Plus it was free museum day
