Great little walk through history with a lovely gift shop. The gift shop features gifts and collectibles from the surrounding local exhibits and attractions. An added lovely surprise was the little used book shop where I purchased 3 paperbacks at $1.00 each???? I can't pass up the opportunity to peruse a local pre-loved collection!

A neat little museum that has got an indoor and outdoor component. 2021 pricing $7 per adult. Takes you through the way of life of the local Indigenous population once here. Very friendly staff. Well maintained. It is got a cute gift shop as well. Next to the museum is a beautiful little lake that I highly also recommend stopping by if you are visiting this museum! A neat spot in Midland for sure!

Certainly a museum. Nice young man was very bored. People keep lighting it on fire. Tour was very honest.

Learned about the Wendat peoples from Will O'Hara's novel " Enemy Arrows " - the museum I hope to see. The pix of the longhouse look good and help one understand the story of the Wendat, the good the sad and the present.

Such an interesting place to visit!

Neat little museum. A nice art gallery with a small selection of Canadian art. Lots of information about wendat culture and interesting artifacts. There is a very large collection of Canadian antiques, from clothing to musical instruments, displayed in sort of a mishmash. Like a flea market, but nothing is for sale. Could use some organizing, editing and labeling to make it more accessible to visitors, but still very neat to look at all the stuff. Small gift shop. Wendat village outside was fine but not outstanding. The lighthouse lens on display was pretty spectacular!

A charming museum with much to recommend it. We greatly enjoyed the craft show and sale, coming up from Toronto to explore it.

My girlfriend and I took her nephew to the museum as a day trip. The place was full of cool local artifacts. The little village they have set up in the back was very well done as well. We'd definitely go back!

Naresh Chhibber

Loved the Longhouse village. Great staff.

Queen Christine Ann Stewart-Peterhoff

My mother brought my sisters and I here the same year that she took us to the Martyr Shrine. I think that she wanted us to know why the Martyr Shrine was built. This place frightened me as we walked through it because it was like being inside of a very primitive Indian Encampment. The dress, customs, rituals, religious beliefs, judicial system and medical care of ancient primitive Indians was taught, explained, and opened up for exploration. It can be very discomforting for a sensitive young Christian as I was, to learn and experience all of this. It is a very real example of how the other half lives. I praise and thank you so very much Lord Jesus for helping me to know the definite difference between us and giving me a heart to love them and the opportunity to share your love with them. I know that they have come a long way since then and so have I, but there is still a very long way to go. I pray that the Blood of Jesus Christ would continue to cover them in their nakedness and preserve them, save them if and when you can Lord. Continue please to pursue them with Your Love till they and I can all stand together before you Blameless, Holy, and in Peace and Love, Praising you Lord Jesus ETERNALLY. I Trust them and their Salvation up to you in Jesus Precious Name .Amen.

Huronia Museum in Midland offers the beuatiful reconstruction of a First Nation village outside and rooms focusing on more recent anglophone and francophone cultures inside. The admission fee is reasonable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Make sure to visit this museum if you happen to be in or near Midland.

Nice little community museum. Nice room with locally relevant art including Group of Seven pieces. Gift shop with history books. Quality artefacts. Some displays need a fresh update but all considered good quality exhibits. Looking forward to visiting the Wendat exhibit outside this summer, and looking through their archives. Consider volunteering! Hosts the local farmers' market during the colder season.

Bob Mcconnell

Kathy Yanuziello

They host the farmers market in the winter. They have great local historical books and items for purchase like moccasins. The museum is small but my 12 year old still likes looking at all the old stuff

I am a decedent of the Hurons. I visited the Huronia Museum in 2006 and learned so much of our history from the curator of the museum. I walked around the ossuary because only Hurons are allowed. It was fascinating and wonderful. The replica village was superb. I am trying to learn more of our history and traced my great great grandparents to be full blood as well as their children and I am fifth in lineage.

(Translated) 2 generous for the effort! It could be renamed the Museum of the English in Huronia. Or the mussé of the erroneous! No native or French presence on the scene, nor even a Huron flag. 70% is dedicated to antiques from the 60s. I advise you dear museum to involve the communities involved or change your name. Visit Penetanguishene (Penetang for English) instead to feel what is left of this beautiful Huronia. Thanks for traduct! You ask me the same when I visit you! Thanks for traduct! You ask me almost the same when I visit you!

A must see place! Unfortunately covid has affected them too. It was self guided. Not the usual bells and whistles.....people in period dress working in the village. We are happy we went!

Their advertising was appealing. When we arrived, it looked like an old building from the seventies. There was no curb appeal to draw us in. We ate our lunch on a picnic table. We watched several vehicles come into the parking lot and leave. One couple went in and came out. They said it was not worth it. The museum was a favourite place in the past to ppl I know. Maybe they need a refresh so they don't loose the opportunity to share such a rich history.

Matthew Tessier

An amazing museum showing you some Canadian heritage of an early Huron settlement.

Great tourist place to learn about a time long ago, one of the very few good memories of Penetanguishene; not much more in the 1980's. Loved Wasaga beach, Orilla, Innisfil, etc. and the natural beauty of the waterways.

Lots of interesting things to see and the tuck shop has a few bargains if you're looking for a souvenir
