We arrived extremely early to the Just for Laughs event to ensure my party sat together as this was a first come first serve event. 1 minute before the show started, Marc asked me to move out of my seat because it was ‘reserved’... there was no indication anywhere this seat was reserved. I sat alone the whole night... very rude person, I was embarrassed. They should have been more organized... will not be going back to another just for laughs event with this producer hosting. However, the PHI staff made up for this with their excellent customer service.

It's my second time at Centre Phi. I went for Hum(AI)n and I went back for the Jim Carey exposition. I have to say, you have to know it's there when you walk in the Old Port but so worth the stop. They have original expositions, prices are reasonable and the staff always so friendly. Nothing but good things there. Now, I keep an eye open to see what's next, I'm just dissapointed in myself for not putting attention towards this place sooner.

I went to Centre Phi for Canada's Top Ten Film Festival. The venue managed to be spacious and intimate at the same time. It was a great space and event!

I went to the Lucid Realities exhibit and it was amazing. This is a VR/AR/Mixed Reality exhibit that has a collection of pieces meant to show art in its newest forms. They have Oculus, Vibe, GearVR, Daydream, Hololens and more all with very interesting pieces. Make sure to go early or at off times as some exhibits take about 15 minutes and can have long lines plus I could not do 2 of the exhibits because they are for 2 people and there was no one there to pair up with me (they offer to pair you with an employee if it is quiet). If you want to do it all make sure to put aside 3-4 hours and all of them are worth trying out. I will be back for other exhibits.

The low rating is the result of unsatisfactory customer service at the Center and the provision of misleading information by employees. The Center does not respect MTL passport cards/tickets and makes it impossible to use them. Instead of being honest right away and informing on your website or through an employee that "Hi, you can't actually use our service if you have an MTL passport. Sorry, we suggest you - buy our ticket through our system and enjoy the great exhibition, and use your passport for other attractions, where it will work ", the Center has chosen the path of lies and discrimination. A better category of visitors is the one that just doesn't use the passport because it is useless at that point. Our experience is that during two days, while calling and being in person, we received information from the ticket office that there is no online booking, you have to call in the morning of the planned visit and they will reserve a place for you. We did just that, to find out 10 minutes before entering the exhibition that it was not true. The person from the morning shift did not make any reservations and the very nice Florence from the afternoon shift said that "in fact, you can only call one hour before entering and find out, because for the MTL passport they have no guaranteed places. Calling in the morning does not give anything - despite that her colleagues said something else. " All in all, instead of having a nice day at the exhibition - we lost our time calling and commuting to the center, lost an extra $ 17 on parking in the center, lost our nerves at the checkout desk and writing this review and most of all we lost confidence in your Institution and MTL passport. I think you can do better than treating visitors like a second-class people. It was not a nice experience, I will not be back again. For the future, just tell the truth, it doesn't hurt. Trust is also a currency. One of my worst customer service experiences at MTL.

I would not recommend this museum or waste time in it. We left after 3 exhibits. The headsets hurt and theres a lot of pushed agendas. None of the exhibits really make much sense either. Maybe other months they have better stuff but I would rather sit outside and enjoy the beauty than be inside this theatre with shows that dont make much sense.

PROS • colorful building, super chromatic! • interior design is attractive • futuristic idea! well worth the money! • 2 hours of fun! • friendly staff, very helpful! CONS • hard to find parking PRO TIP FOR VISITORS • do not wear a hat or glasses, you'll be putting on VR goggles and headphones & a thermo vest for the last exhibition, it'll only get in the way, be sure to wear contacts if you wear glasses a must go for anyone age range! the experience itself is so futuristic that you don't want to leave!

Cool modern multi-purpose venue in Old Montreal. I saw the VR exhibition “Echo: The Sound of Space” in December 2018 and it was fantastic. The staff at the entrance takes time to explain what the experience is about. You even get the chance to try one short film before buying your ticket. I recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun and interactive activity in the city.

Centre Phi is always full of surprises and has never let me down. The VR experiences are very immersive and some of them in the hum(ia)n exhibition requires lots of interaction too. I had fun in the algorithmic perfume testing even though the I didn’t quite like the perfume that eventually came out. I also got surprised when the digital human being called out my name at the end of our conversation. The facial recognition seems work perfectly.

Rock Star Today

While I've only been to concerts at this venue, it's a small intimate room with balconies on either side for those that prefer to sit. The stage is low enough that you can really get up close and personal to the performers, which makes the evening feel like you are in someone's living room. The acoustics are great and the entrance is always alive after the show where the performers will often join the fans to sign merchandise and chat. This space also hosts movie premiers and interviews in the small concert room as well as having a larger screening theatre.

A pretty cool virtual reality exhibition. You book a slot of 3 hours and there are enough VR ‘rooms’ to keep you entertained for at least two hours. Note: if you feel dizzy in normal video games be aware. It’s a stronger effect here. It happened to me - but not the equipment but my physiology is to blame :-)

Wearing wide-brimmed glasses (13.4 cm / 5.27 inches) I could not stand the pressure on my nose when I put on the mask. Suddenly, the screenings were brief! I must deplore the lack of tablets for installation "algorithmic perfumery". It has 2 tablets only to answer database questions ... so we waited a long time to access it (unless you have a cell phone connection to access the application). The experience was disastrous when the result appeared! The scent lifted my heart! To remain optimistic, let's say that the experience was fun but do not expect to harvest the ideal perfume for you, the one that will make you capsize! The interactive experience of artificial intelligence with a digital being did not impress me more than that ... say that we do not understand and that we did not have the chance to understand him and me ... and that, even asking him simple questions! I must admit however that she (female character) was honest and polite with her answers: "Sorry, I do not know the answer or I can not tell you more." As for the various emotional experiences produced by the installations that broadcast either stories or short films it is a question of taste and perception ... but be careful! Some experiences can make you feel nauseous (nauseous). In conclusion, if it is to persuade visitors that we enter a future where machines are and are an integral part of us, then in this case, I am not convinced at all but this is my point of view! ... to you to make yours by visiting this exhibition! Les masques qui étaient trop étroits. Portant des lunettes aux montures larges (13,4 cm/5,27 pouces) je ne supportais pas la pression sur mon nez lorsque je mettais le masque. Du coup, les visionnements ont été brefs !Je dois déplorer le manque de tablettes pour l'installation "algorithmic perfumery" . Elle dispose de 2 tablettes seulement pour répondre aux questions de la base de données...ce qui fait que nous avons attendus longtemps pour y accéder (à moins que vous ayez une connexion sur votre cellulaire pour accéder à l'application ). L'expérience fut désastreuse lorsque le résultat fut apparu ! La senteur m'a levé le coeur ! Pour rester optimiste, disons que l'expérience fut amusante mais faut pas s'attendre à récolter le parfum idéal pour vous, celui qui vous fera chavirer ! L'expérience interactive d'intelligence artificielle avec un être numérique ne m'a pas impressionnée plus que ça...disons que l'on ne sait pas compris et que l'on n'a pas eu la chance de se comprendre lui et moi...et cela, même en lui posant des questions simples ! Je dois reconnaitre toutefois qu'elle (personnage féminin) était honnête et polie avec ses réponses : "Désolée, je ne connais pas la réponse ou je ne peux pas vous en dire plus." Quant aux diverses expériences émotionnelles produites par les installations qui diffusent soit des contes ou des courts métrages c'est une question de goût et de perception ...mais faites attention ! Certaines expériences peuvent vous faire sentir nauséeux (nauséeuse). En conclusion, si c'est pour persuader les visiteurs que l'on rentre dans un futur où les machines sont et font partie intégrante de nous, alors dans ce cas, je ne suis pas convaincue du tout mais cela reste mon point de vue !...à vous de faire le vôtre en visitant cette exposition ! Bonne visite cher humain ! :-)

It is up to our societies to define the limits of this very near future! There was a wait, the price is not very affordable in my opinion. However, you get what you pay for. Toutefois, je me suis rendu compte que le cerveau peut aisément et efficacement se faire duper par une telle "réalité" donc des dérives sont possibles. Rappelons-nous des films comme Matrix, Avalon ou encore Wall-E récemment. Pour la seconde, il est fort probable qu'avec toutes les informations que nous donnons à internet (comme ce commentaire), des lunettes de réalité augmentée utilise ce BIG DATA. A nos sociétés de définir les limites de ce futur très proche! Il y avait de l'attente, le prix n'est pas très accessible à mon avis. Toutefois, on en a pour son argent. Avec mes ami-e-s, nous sommes resté-e-s 4 heures sur place! J'ai quand même eu la nausée à un moment... Le centre PHI est à recommander!
