You will see the feddbacks of people like you who are using the services and products of THEMUSEUM (Museum) in Kitchener (Canada).
At the present the business has a score of 4.5 stars out of 5 and that score is based on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings that it reaches is virtually the best one, and it is founded on a very large number of reviews, so we may conclude that the valuation is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to put scores when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Museum corresponds to the category of Museum.
I asked the server if the perogies were a good vegetarian option, she said yes they are great. They were very bland received 4 pieces for $16! And when she asked how it was after seeing I only at half she said yeah it's better with the bacon and loses its flavour :$ Not overwhelmed with the service and food. I don't mind paying for quality food but unfortunately it was not.
For the amount of space this establishment holds you would expect the museum to be absolutely amazing.. but it was far from that. I paid about $36 for 2 people to be in and out in 30 minutes.... definitely do NOT recommend unless you're 4 years old. The dinosaur exhibit was rather boring with only a handful of dino's....the sound exhibit was confusing... and overall felt like an elementary classes science fair project. I'm not here to discredit the artists I just don't think the price you pay amounts to what you see.... instead drive a little further to a museum in Toronto.
Check their website for rotating special exhibits- usually something good is on display, and fairly frequent evening events/parties.
Great place to bring your kids
My kids (12 and 6) loved this place. Good options to play and learn at the same place, especially with limited crowd. Makerspace was a quick learning experience whereas ball pit was fun. Staff was very friendly and parking was free on Sunday.
We went thinking our London Children's museum pass would I've access to our family (2 adults and 3 kids). Turns out the member restriction is that you just be over 150 KM from the source membership facility. They were kind enough to only charge us for two adults and allow our kids on for free which was much appreciated considering we drove 2 hours (due to some poor traffic on highway). In all honesty I was pretty disappointed with what it had to offer. You could spend 1-2 hours here having some fun but it's not worth the cost of 2 adults and even 3 kids free. If I paid full price I would have been very disappointed. This place makes sense to go to if you are a member and live in the area but I would strongly recommend you don't pay full price for 1 day to come here. And don't make this a sole destination if you are from out of town.

Great museum for kids and adults
My son has not really done well with day camps but the one they run here during the Summer worked SO well for him.
Lots of fun things to do for people of every age. New exhibits coming in monthly means never having to revisit the same thing twice, keeping it exciting. My biggest issue, however. Is that since most of the exhibits are hands on, people tend to take parts of them, leaving the rest of the visitors unable to properly use and enjoy the exhibit.
Great place for a quick day visit. 2-4h of family fun
Great place for toddlers and kids to play and explore. We easily spent 2 hours there with our 2.5 year old. Price is a bit steep - comes to $31 for 2 adults (free for kids 2 and under)
The museum has never disappointed me, every time I go there I get excellent service and the exhibits are always really fun. It's a great place to bring kids of all ages. It is a bit on the pricy side but it's always worth it. It's a seriously good place, i highly suggest it. There are, of course, elevators for people with disabilities.
Attended mental health talk it was great!
Technology level was fun
So much fun!
Interactive, packed with information, and a total blast! Loved it!
Great for kids 2 months and up. A+ for the great fun, cheap as well!
Unzipped was amazing. Love the costumes and music.
Great place for kids 6 and under.
A fantastic place to visit with your young ones. A variety of setups for both younger and older kids. A sensory room that is great. Admission price is very reasonable for what they have. Parking can be expensive during the week, but is cheaper on the weekends.
visited for Maker Club. Great activities for the kids.
It was a good time, especially for children - the exhibit on brains was really interesting and accessible for all ages.
Went to the Unzipped exhibition. So glad I did! You won't regret checking this out. The staff were great, polite and helpful. Place wasn't crowded at all so I was able to really read everything I wanted to without feeling rushed and took a close look at everything. And the stuff they have! Very cool exhibit, every music fan should check this out!
Great kids museum. Lots of fun and very interactive.
Nice place. They host lots of special events and shows. You can also rent this place for events.
Wonderful for the big and small!
I took my 10 year old nieces here. It was nice that something was open during COVID. The museum is much smaller than I expected and much of the area including the play area in the basement and much of the second floor was closed due to upcoming events or COVID. The feathered dinosaur exhibit was cool but once again smaller than I expected filling only one medium sized room. The Sound exhibit was interesting and interactive though it seemed more appropriate for adults than kids. Accessibility notes: The building has many floors and is built around an open atrium. There is an elevator but if you are afraid of heights many of the balcony style rooms may be uncomfortable for you.
Interesting piece of artistic curations. Didn't know kitchener had a place like this. I loved their exhibit on Seances and Colour. Very interactive pieces of art, though I do wish it was a bit more well cared for. Some things felt overly damaged or distressed by the people being hands on. I assume that is down to funding. But everything was very interesting to see. Definitely a fun place for kids to play around in.
Great space, frequent fun events/exhibits, nice staff.
Great for the whole family
I have went her many times over the years with my son but never took my daughter but when we got a coupon for free admission for child when an adult pays I looked up the price and it said $6.50 general admission and $5 Wednesday's i could only take them Wednesday so we went. I'll talk about the museum first and then move on to a complaint I had. So I took my son 6 and daughter 2 turns 3 this month. And nothing on the main and second floor really changed in the last 4-5 years. Just a little more run down. third and fourth floor are rotating displays which were interesting but my children really weren't into it like I was. So after 1 hour of seeing everything they lost all interest and wanted to go. It didn't help that you could barely get to anything because there were so many people that there was always someone at each station. What really ruined my experience was when we arrived I showed Kim my coupon and she said we can use it because of the cheap Wednesday rate and then she said I would have to charge you the general admission which I said that was fine (as I said earlier the website says general admission is $6.50. So I would save $3.50. She argued with me that the general price is 13.50 but I continued to tell her that it doesn't say that on the website. In the end I paid the $10 admission since I didn't want to disappoint my children. What is the point of the coupon when you can never use it. I usually don't get personal in my reviews but when she wouldn't even confirm that is what the website said and then tells me even if it was 6.50 she still wouldn't let me use the coupon then what is the point of the coupon.
Love taking the lil man here he loves all the fun things to play with and the water table. And always something new going on there
Would be nice to see some permanent or long term exhibits. For one child and an adult, it was nearly $30 and didn't feel like it was worth it if not for the Spectrum exhibit. The permanent exhibits are stagnant, and have thinned out since our last visit. :(
Awesome place to take kids on a weekend or a day off during the week. Very reasonable prices for the amount of activities!
Fun interactive museum..not too many attractions but a good place to spend time
This was a fun place, my son enjoyed himself
A gem of a place. Took my 3 kids (8, 6, 1) and there was something for literally all of them. My son was in his element, as he loves building, and seeing how things are built. My daughter loves to create, and was able to mess around with so much different stuff. My baby was loving the 'tot room' as well. I managed to have a quick nap in the pod seat too, so I'll definitely be back. Oh... also, there's a REALLY nice taproom connected, which was a huge surprise. I could also go on about the events and workshops for kids that go on downstairs... Simply said, if you have kids. Go.
Beer + ChefD was sooo yummy! Looking forward to many more of your events this year... ????????
Four stories of hands-on displays. Interesting to both young and old.
Good place for kids, but a bit expensive.
The area in the ground floor for toddlers is very good, they have sensorial walls for babies, and also the floor is covered by big mats
Amazing space for young families. The rotating exhibitions can be quite interesting for adults as well!
Great exhibits that are creative, mind blowing and educational. They have on hand crafts that instructors help with for kids of all ages and more educational classes such as wood working and circuitry that change week to week. Every experience my kids and I have had has been amazing!!!!
Exhibitions are nice and clean. Beautiful place to go. Bathrooms are clean. I recommend.
Great place for kids to have fun and explore at the same time.
Great place to take kids! Entertained my niece and nephew for several hours... Particularly with the second floor interactive exhibits!
For the price, it wasn't bad. The area has several levels to explore. Main level was very open and I imagine generally has a speaker. The second floor was more entertaining with a few hands on activities. The 3rd floor and 4th floor had a few art installations. Overall, ok for the kids 10 and under.
The idea of this museum is really cool and the building definitely has some fun/interesting aspects, but the admission price is high and the amount of time spent in the museum is quick. The exhibits aren't always the most exciting, either. I feel like this museum is mainly geared towards younger kids who are mesmerized by practically anything.
Lovely, friendly science-oriented museum with hands-on exhibits for the family. It's a relaxing, airy space to spend time, but a shame that a couple of things were out of order when we visited (graffiti wall, bed of nails, balance timer). The colour exhibition was very enjoyable. Overall a great place and would def visit again.
Mostly visited here for events like Mac and Cheese festival but the exhibits on display are fun and interactive.
Great place for kids and families. Inexpensive, but full of lots of stuff for the kids to do, and some pretty nice diversions for adults too.
Good spot downtown for a drink. Try and get the comfy chairs/couch at the back!
Had a very nice display of some amphibians and reptiles, otherwise only a small photo display and a whole floor of bizarre art works. I thought the experience of being on the bed of nails was quite interesting.
Love the accessibility they offer here at The Museum. Our son just loves coming here and we enjoy showing our family and friends our favourite outing location. Thank you for being inclusive!!
Super fun
Great place for kids. There is a lot of interactive exhibits that get them moving as well as learning. its also great for adults to play with their kids. There is also an area to eat if you bring lunch or snacks.
Went to the art battle last night. Was lovely evening and the space was perfect for it. Extra points for the DJ who was laying down some awesome tracks. Don't know if I would go without an event. Seemed like it was more for kids.
Fun intimate museum and gallery space in the downtown.
I’ve never experienced THEMUSEUM during regular hours, but THEMUSEUM after Dark events are very well organized, varied, and a lot of fun. I recently went to this year’s PickleFest and enjoyed it very much. Good food and a selection of locally brewed beers. Great interactive exhibits. Reasonably priced entertainment and they don’t overcrowd the venue. The only thing that keeps this from being a 5 Star review is some of the interactive exhibits weren’t working.
Kids teally enjoy it.
Great local place for some family fun. My boy had a blast and they did a great job with all the activities.
Did the mac & cheese; a good time was had by all.
Excellent place to spend time with family even young kids.
Great place for the family
Fun for all ages
A really fun place to bring your kids
Awesome venue for learning things
Awesome space for kids. I recommend getting a year pass. Lots of levels to explore and keep your children busy. Many activities change in a few weeks.
Always a great place to visit
Amazing place!!
Great place for kids
Amazing facility for a festive event.
Had so much fun here. Will definitely go back again.
Fun enough for the price, the alternating exhibits are hit or miss. Some have been very good and others much less so.
Simple variety of kids displays and experiments
Our last visit, I gave the museum a perfect rating. We went today though and it was chaos. They had 3 school groups there and my little ones were overwhelmed, run over, and pushed around. When I asked why the groups were there instead of Monday and Tuesday when we can't go, but the schools can, they said they needed the funding. What a loss. If we had known, we wouldn't have gone. When the schools were gone at 1:30, we did have fun. It just wasn't safe or fun for my little ones till then. I have no problem with school trips, but it's too much when you have the public there too. What a loss. I'm just left disappointed and won't be back for a long while.
If you have young ones, this is a great place to spend a weekend. While it may not be as big as the children's museum in London, there are plenty of things for kids to do there as well as exhibits for adults too. The second floor is always the same and they have things for kids to interact with such as a giant water table and blocks to build towers as well as a large pin wall. There is nothing stopping adults from participating at the water table as well, so everyone has a good time. The third and fourth floor interactive exhibits switch up every few months so there's always something new and different to see. At 11:00 and 14:00, there's arts and crafts that children can participate in for free and they can take home their creation. There's street parking on King street and the surrounding side streets for two hours. The parking lot behind them is a bit pricey, but sometimes it doesn't work and you can park for free that day.
I went there the other day with my daughter to see the Rolling Stones Unzipped. It was our first time going to The Museum and we had a great time at Unzipped. We both loved the Rolling Stones outfits throughout the years!
Staff just wanted us out and to go home. That much was painfully obvious with their attirude or I would have given 5 stars. But other then that the place was very neat to walk through
Wonderful place to visit with children.
Great museum to visit. Lots of exhibits. Went there for a 55 and Better event. Made wearable Light up wrist bands. Was a fun experience in the basement. They are trying to get more people to come so if you show your ID on z Thursday only and can prove your age (55+), you get in free for the day. Thursdays in Jan-Mar they plan to have events from 1:30:3pm, sponsored by Chartwell Retirement Group. See below my Light up Wearable Bracelet
Always a fun visit. Lots to explore. Friendly staff.
This is heaven for children and their parents
Great for children
Absolutely amazing place to take kids no matter how old they are. They have an absolutely amazing activity area for small children learning so walk and crawl. They have an area for older kids with lots of interactive activities. They often get new exhibits. My wife and I always have fun as well!
This is a great place I have a 4 and 8 year old and they are always entertained.
A good place to take young kids.
Amazing exhibits and space! Highly recommend.
It's a super fun experience for any age group. Lots of interesting, educational things to see as well as some interactive activities to explore science, physics, and history. They have different themes, sometimes bringing in exhibits from other museums temporarily and camps for kids that are both structured and enjoyable.
Toddler room rennos are much appreciated. 1.5, 4.5, and 7 year old app look forward to going, so they are doing something right.
Really cool place. Lots of interactive things for the kids to do
Pretty cool place for the whole family.
The absolute best of the best
This is a really fun and interesting location for a wedding ceremony--we can't wait to perform there again!
I was pleasantly surprised with how much there is for a toddler to do!
Good range of activities and interactive displays
Really fun and interactive! Was never really a fan of museums but this museum caught be by surprise. The staff here are very friendly as well and made several recommendations on what to do since we were here for the first Time! Exhibitions change from time to time so do look out!
Great interactive displays for kids!
Great place. Fun atmosphere.
Amazing for childrens.
Its very good place to visit. Beautiful art ???? and really nice people. They have tons of different variety of events going on there.
Just hosted Christmas dinner for our staff and families. Got rave reviews.
Was very enjoyable and enlightening. A must go place for anyone with children under the age of 10. Many interactive exhibits and presentations done by the staff. Convenient parking nearby or easily accessible with public transit as its right downtown.
Great selection of exhibits. A real green in the Kitchener area for day of family fun. My daughter had her party there and it was an awesome experience. The support staff who helped coordinate the party room decorations, setup of the snacks and the activities were fantastic!!!
So much fun
very fun and interactive museum, unfortunately i do not remember much as i went in 2018
Super cool place that hosts very, unique events for all ages. Highly creative environment.
The spectrum thing going on right now is quite cool! Lots of great photo ops for the gram
The bar ambience is so so nice
Great place to bring the kids to pass some time on a hot day. Just check the scheduled exhibits ahead of time to see if it interests you.
Fun for children .
I cannot believe the price I was charged to visit, 40 dollars later we saw five dinosaur statues, and my 2.5 year old was most excited to play with the blocks... something we have at home. The dinosaur exhibit was nothing to write home about, the sound exhibit was difficult to understand there was hardly any explination to what each piece meant... over all we spent about 25 min there and had seen everything. Do not recommend for that price, and wouldn't bring a child here because they will leave dissapointed.
I love to bring my toddler. Theres an awesome sensory room and the second floor has lots of activities for her to explore!
Went to a Christmas party here. Really good idea because we were able to be big kids and play around with the different games.
My boys (5 and 3) have loved our trips to The Museum! A really good range of activities for kids of all ages.
The kids loved it here...Wasn't busy at all on the Sunday we went. Very cool studio in the basement with 3D printers and lots of cool classes being offered. If I lived in Kitchener the kids would join their classes.
Great place for the kids. Better than the ROM even for kids under 8.
Nostalgia instantly triggered by all the gadgets and games. Great design, very informative. Would recommend for younger kids and families.
An essential part of downtown Kitchener. A well thought out rotation of exhibits that jive with what people are thinking about or ignorant of. Great programming for all ages, with a cozy attached restaurant to discuss what's been seen.
Beautiful interior and exterior with engaging activities and programs in a non-traditional learning style. Perfect for kids and interested adults.
Fun venue for corporate parties
Lots to do and was a lot of fun. Just didn't like the third floor, it had some creepy music and videos going. Wasn't very interesting for the kids.
Lovely place. Their toddler room is amazing, very safe and immersive. What people should check out is the child-friendly Co-working sessions that run out of the Wednesday and Friday 10am to 1 pm (Kokku Space).
Loved the carnival exhibit. Baby area was great, but could have used someone nearby ensuring older kids aren't running around.
Cool spot
Great place to spend a few hours. Staff is friendly and the environment is perfect.
Wish we had discovered this place sooner!
Spectrum exhibition is a lot of fun.
The exhibits are OK. They engaged our 5 year old for about 20 minutes and then we moved on. The were not to in-depth but they are for kids so that is ok.
Great entertaining and learning facility for kids! Seek Membership options that best suit you/your family
My two year old son loves this place. A great way to keep him busy for a morning or afternoon
Experienced UNZIPPED - Story of a gang of punks ????with pretty much ???? nothing sharing a flat in London ???????? to becoming the ???? Rolling Stones ????.
Amazing place for kids of all ages and parents alike.
Came for the Brain Exhibit. Very interesting with fun activities.
Great place to enjoy on the weekend. Exhibits are fun and interesting mainly focused for kids and parents.
Great for kids and adults
It doesn't matter how many times we've been here, we still end up exploring until closing time. The current exhibits (Spectrum, The Brain, and Refugee Art) were fun, engaging, and educational. The staff are so helpful and willing to do what is needed to make an experience great.
Great day with the kids
Excellent place to go with your kids.
This is our 2nd visit. First was in 2012 and now 2020. We had kids from 1 yr old to 15 yrs old and several adults. We all enjoyed the time. Spent about 2 hours. Good value. We could have spent longer but had other things to do that day! I loved the art exhibit. The kids loved the activities.
Wow! I brought a couple of 9 year old kids here. The Colour exhibit is spectacular- the room full of pink balloons, the giant green ball pit,, the rainbow piano tunnel, the light contour sandbox....it was highly impressive. Plus there are 4 other floors of exhibits....????????????
Great place good for downtown makes me think of Goudies??????????????
Fantastic place to take the kids and let them learn through play. I think the team at the Museum does a great job in keeping the place interesting for people all ages, but specially to keep kids engaged.
I was one of the people that originally built and ran the museum. I was a long term employee. It was one of the best experiences of my life! Always fun and interactive. I can't say enough good things about this place and all the people involved in making it happen and keeping it happening! I will post some interesting photos later. There should be a picture of me with Marc Garneau down there somewhere. All the staff got to have their picture taken with him but I never got my copy.
Great place for kids or family fun! The workshop at the basement is really cool for anyone interested in technical stuff.
Nice exhibits and nice staff.
We love TheMuseum and often visit there as a family. They also host many wonderful fun events in the evenings. This is a great organization. I just wish that the quality here was reflected in a good kid's menu at the attached restaurant.
Really neat museum with lots of cool and fun events (for example Beer+ Series with Mac and Cheese Festival, Taco Fest)
We now come here for school trips, it's amazing
Great looking museum with regularly changing exhibits. Interactive and a fun place to visit for kids and adults.
I enjoy going to TheMUSEUM regularly as they always have new exhibits rolling in. Everyone that works there seems to remember me and greets me with a smile and conversation. While not directly affiliated, there is also a wonderful bar in the front for drinks and eats before and after touring around! All and all, they have certainly come a long way since being known as a children's museum.
Unique place but great to take my granddaughter to
We only went for the restaurant, really trendy, with a interesting fusion cuisine. From dim sum style buns to hearty soups, they have a nice variety to get everyone's taste. We went on lunch time before it got busy, but saw some tables waiting for a long time to be served.
Nice Venue. Staff are sometimes questionable
Membership here is definitely worth it! My kids are always happy to spend hours here and the rotating exhibits are fantastic. They also gave PD Day programs and camps.
Cannot understand the hype. Came here a week ago (on a weekend to visit) very quiet but the exhibits itself felt quieter. The museum have got some fantastic protocols in place to protect the visitors and staff. Overall, I feel disappointed because Kitchener deserves a decent museum. Having been in a fortunate enough position to visit museums around the world and in Canada this would be considered in the bottom tier. I hope they can improve to make it a better experience for our community and children.
had the annual membership for several years.....and a great place for a rainy day. Also a great spot for corporate events - attended a Charity event and Christmas Party here and it was well done.
Great atmosphere for our Christmas party.
Small but gorgeous, playable. An nice place for selfie.
Great place to bring your kids! Lots of great interactive activities. They have great events held here. Definitely try out one of their events, you won't be disappointed!!!
Interesting and interactive displays. Super friendly staff!
What a great place for all ages!!
Not much interesting exhibition better for weekend family life
My 3 year old has a blast. There is lots to do, and touch, and play with. We would go again for sure.
Took the whole family out on Family Day, Tons of things for my 2 and 5 year old to do. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Cant wait to go back!
We seen the Rolling Stones tribute it was amazing
Attended the 55+ programs. Enjoyed watercolor and lightup wearables very much. The Museum is a great community resource.
The building blocks are always a blast and the Quantum Exhibit was great for my inner science-minded-child.
Great for kids.
This was a great experience for us and the kids. Very clean and fun!
Very happy with my visit!!! I love the Stones !
It was a fun time and a lot of exhibits were interactive which is good for kids and adults alike. Their gift shop is very cute!
The main level is great for young kids. The toddler room is a fantastic sensory experience. The upper floors are rotating installations for older kids.
Always love taking the kids here
Limited free parking but there is a covered garage at the back of the building that is connected to the museum. Sometimes I feel like TheMuseum tries to cater to too many groups (eg. adults and kids), so it's worth looking into what the featured exhibit is before going but younger kids will enjoy the tot spot - a dedicated sensory room for them! Can get a bit chaotic and disorganized on discount days but these are a great economical option for families. Great after-hours events offered. Excellent customer service even on social media.
Kids loved the spectrum zone very much. Their favourites were the pink balloons, rainbow chains, green ball pit, and thermo wall.
Kids loved the spectrum zone very much. Their favourites were the pink balloons, rainbow chains, green ball pit, and thermo wall.
I supervised a school trip here. It was awful. The animator related poorly to the kids and knew little about the science behind the demonstration she was giving... Which there wasn't even enough supplies for the whole class to participate properly!
Awesome place to take kids and learn stuff
Made me feel like a kid again! The exhibits are wonderfully interactive and reasonably interesting. That said, there is very little real science or meaningful art here.
Cool way of spending one afternoon in Kitchener-Waterloo !
Great fun for the whole family, reasonable admission price.
Lots of fun here.
A good amount of neat exhibits all around. Really enjoyed the interactive aspect and the variety of exhibits. The best was definitely the sonica experience up on the top floor! Unfortunately some exhibits were unavailable or certain areas weren't available so it was a short trip. It took us about 45 minutes to do the whole museum.
Been living in the area for 4yrs yet i never went until today. I reckon better late than never. Friendly staff..had a great time. Exhibits were fun.
One of my favorite spots to bring my kids, and I guess events too! Very cool space, industrial building with lots to do and great exhibitions
The Staff and balloon room were FANTASTIC! I was there for a Wedding, it was nice to take our time through the exhibits.
Was here for a wedding. Awesome venue. Has a lot of cool things people can do instead of sitting around at tables talking to people.
One of the best gems in KW. A great venue run by great people. Children's programming by day, and TheMuseum After Dark hosts night time parties and fun events for adults, and this one of a kind venue makes for an unparalleled atmosphere. Also check out The Brush Off, an art battle event every year. One of the best shows in the area!
I only got a chance to visit once before the pandemic limited hours, but it was a great experience. It is fun to explore the place, and I look forward to bringing my little brother when possible. Changing displays increases it's returnability, I imagine. The location is also very handy- plenty of restaurants and other locations around, and the LRT stop going both ways is within a block.
A fun and educating place for kids.
Wonderful display , great experience
Mac n Cheese festival was awesome!
Nice staff and fun place
Lots of fun here
Great fun for the kids. They loved the water table and colours room and balloon room. Great ball pit to play in and lots of educational things to read and interact with. Awesome toddler room and cafe to eat at. Best to use green P parking as its attached to the museum and gets you out on the second floor. Elevators available for strollers.
Great place to spend a few hours with your kids.
It has a very unique layout and appealing atrium area. I didn't actually make it up to the exhibits because I was there for a special event. Hardwood floors extend throughout much of the main level. Decent for dancing.
Someday I'll have to go here for the actual exhibits... the whisky tasting and tacofest events were excellent!
Took my daughter here during the week and we had a great little outing. She loved the sensory room for littles as well as the dinosaurs on the upper level! Can’t wait to come back here when she is a little older.
Great place to visit with kids. Learning for them too!
Interesting spot for an event staff isn't the nicest
Great museum, lots of interesting facts.
The baby room is one of favorite places to go with the children in my life. The whole family also really loved the colour exhibit.
Great for kids! Lots of interactive exhibits that are fun and engaging. Went with friends and had a great time
Had a great time with my family. Lots for a 2 year old to do.
The Museum is a great place to spend time with your children. Lots of hands on experiences for kids and plenty to do :)
Excellent! Love the Art Exhibits
Awesome exhibits especially the quantum one, great prices, I'll definitely go back.
The kids loved it! Wasn't very busy even though it was a PA Day here. Plenty of fun things to do and time flew bye
It had an exhibition on frogs, sound art, and a ball pit. What more do you want, I don't know what else you want me to tell you.
Went for the Interaction exhibit. Discovered an intriguing event space.
THEMUSEUM is a great place to visit and take in some interesting exhibits. It's not a typical artifact style museum. Also it is not a "children's" museum but meant for young and old and families.
My 1 and 3year old really loved the 2nd floor with all the interactive activities. It would be nice if some of the activities were switched out daily.
Always a neat place.
We had a terrific time. My toddler loves running around and exploring.
Wonderful museum. Great space for private events. We have done many events there. Staff is great. Really unique venue
Amazing place to go with the kids. Fun play area on the main level. The Digital area was a definite favourite (might be a limited time exhibit.) Many interactive areas with games! Worth the trip.
Went with a four year old and he had a blast. Ball pit is as fun as when you were that age!
This place is amazing!! A little expensive if you’re paying per visit, so invest in the annual pass and enjoy year round.
I've gone here twice for two different exhibits and I wasn't impressed with either. I first went to their Mac and cheese festival which was not bad aside from the creepy music and weird dancers they hired. Food was great but my God it had some weird vibes. I recently went before Halloween to their seance exhibit and it was truly awful. I mainly went because they had a fortune teller which was interesting. They gave us cards, and let us know what time our card would be called to go up and experience the main event. We had plenty of time so we stood in line for the fortune teller. After waiting in line for over an hour, our turn was coming up. Then, they call our group way earlier than they said because they were "running out of time". So we basically stood in line for over an hour for no reason. We went upstairs and we were guided down a makeshift hall with portraits and random artwork on the walls... honestly I could've done a better job with $5 and a printer. The actor was fine and honestly made me laugh with his "creepy" attitude because he reminded me of the aliens from Galaxy Quest. Once we got to the seance room, there was obviously too many people to fit so we had to cram inside and watch this guy sit at a table listening to an audiotape...and that was it. We stood there for a half hour sweating our butts off just to listen to something that they had online (that I had already listened to prior to going). I expected him to at least talk or react but nothing happened. You could clearly tell people were getting uncomfortable from the heat and getting bored. Once it ended we practically ran out of the museum.
Beautiful building. Sort of empty when we were there and it felt like it was looking for its identity but a great facility. Some innovative items and features and enjoyable but not amazing.
Loved it, especially the quantum exhibit.
My kids and I enjoyed our time at the museum today. Lots of cool stuff to see and experience. We will definitely be visiting again
My daughter loves every exhibit this place has had since we started visiting.
Great place to take young kids ages 2 to 6. Lots of fun activities!
Pretty cool! Went for the first time and it's one of those "you've seen it once and that's enough" times. The staff was friendly, thank you Hillary. :) We, being an early and mid 20s couple enjoyed taking pictures, but in all would be happy to bring our nieces and watch their enjoyment far more. But will return for the animation and Art features next time!
The Balloon room makes this a 5 star spot.
This place was a lot of fun...even without kids. Thoughful exhibits, lots of hand-on activities and great location.
It's ok. Large area, some ok exhibits but when we were there it was quite boring for what I thought it would be. A few interactive parts but went through it fairly quick.
I love this place for this frequently well put together exhibits. Their most recent models citizens + interplay is great!
Excellent place for the kids attached to a restaurant with craft beer. What's not to like? I bought a yearly membership.
Interesting interactive displays. I was there for beer the Startups and Beer event. Overall the event was a good opportunity to interact and find out what various start up companies have to offer. It was a great event for meeting different people with similar interests.
Impressive venue for a wedding, I really loved the layout and the freedom to check out and interact with the exhibits. The ceremony looked beautiful, and the staff did an excellent and quick job of resetting the room for dinner. Hats off to the bartenders for working tirelessly to make sure we were satisfied ! However, I believe that the catering staff was not part of The Museum. The servers working dinner weren't as attentive, and my drunken self would have appreciated not having to chase someone down to get a cup of coffee. Otherwise things went smoothly, and I believe the bride and groom were content.
Amazing fun time while being informative and educational
Really great toddler area for kids.
This place has culture.
Great hands on options for kids!
I've been to many events at the museum and always have a blast. Exhibits are fresh and interesting and they have a spacious layout.
Great playing place for the little ones
Great place to bring the kids week in, week out.
It's a small museum of computer and medium art. Because it is in Waterloo and has such high profile domain name (museum.ca), I expected lot more than it actually offers. The museum is more like a casual digital recreational hall targeted for young kids and families. It's a good place to spend an afternoon for family fun but don't expect high end art and display here.
Great exhibits for kids of all ages.
Fun for the kids. Lots of interactivity. Where are the change tables though?
Very interesting event space!
Lots to do with your family here, new exhibits all the time. It's nice that you can go alone too, a bit expensive for me.
Very fun on Halloween (if you go you will go to hell) I didn’t go but my friends did and said it was fun Don’t go the on HALLOWEEN!!!
Very cool place.
Great staff and fun things for the kids.
It was a very good visit just wish it had better exhibits
We had a fun day here :)
Love this place. It’s great for all kids and people with disabilities.
Great time, no worries about covid. Dinosaur exhibit is decent because they do little guided tours and people walk around with moving dinosaurs and the exhibits move. Great for all ages but the little ones get freaked out by the animatronic velociraptor!
New computers and video game museum exhibit is really cool! We got to play many of the retro video games starting with Pong to the modern day. Staff was great as usual.
Great for kids
We went on half price day on Family Day with our 2 girls. We had a great time checking out the exhibit. Fun place for toddlers and preschoolers.
Can be a little boring (not just because it's a museum) but overall a pleasant place. I'd recommend going here at least once in your life so you have a general idea of what this place is like.
Mac and beer is at this location. I was a great time.
Nice place to take children to.
My husband and I got married at THEMUSEUM on July 14, 2018 and it was incredible! Their wedding co-ordinators were perfect, responsive and helpful whenever we had questions. We could drop off our decorations in advance, have them be set up for us, and pick them up days later. The space was beautiful, and so so fun. We had an hour of exploration of the exhibits and our friends had a blast on the interactive games that were on display during our wedding day. Not only that, but THEMUSEUM is a registered charity which does things like display local artwork for World Refugee Day and puts on amazing educational programming for kids. I originally wanted to be married outside, but my husband was worried about rain or excess heat, in the end THEMUSEUM was the better choice and I'm so thankful to him for convincing me of that. Guests stayed at the hotels across the street. We had the coolest wedding photos in Goudie's Lane, downtown Kitchener and at the venue, and the day of our wedding was a hot and humid mess and we were so thankful to be inside. We could hire our own caterer (as long as they talked to the site coordinator first), bring in our own alcohol on a SOP and the price was VERY reasonable. The wedding was fun, beautiful and we could stay until 2am. It was a fantastic day and they are a fantastic organization!
Cool place to hangout, it awakens an artistic side of you
Fantastic smaller family museum with great programming and exhibits
We go all the time with the family and make a day of it as it is a bit of a drive for us. The exhibits are well done and usually interactive which is great for kids. They allow you to bring your own food but also have a nice restaurant attached.
I loved the summer exhibit. I meant to go again and am sad it will be gone. The ball pit, balloon room, lights and sounds rooms. I miss it already! The main floor and second floor is always great!
Interesting exhibits and an amazing "After Dark" event scheduled.
Fantastic museum with modern design and always updating exhibits.
Always a fun time for the kids.
Nice museum. Do visit if in the vicinity.
The museum is is not big, but good enough for my 3 and 6 years old to spend 3 hours. The staffs are nice and helpful.
I put my daughter into a day camp at The Museum and she always came home with a smile. She really enjoyed her time there exploring science, history, arts and crafts, pop culture etc. There was play time and active time as well so it was a good all rou D program for kids.
Hosted a private event here and the staff and expositions were amazing.
Unique exhibitions for all ages
Great venue for events like tacofest. You get a unique space with cool exhibits.
Great place to bring the kids
Definately a kid's place!
The First Things First exhibit is first rate! Read it all ... and let it speak to you deep inside.
Awesome makerspace with great hands on exhibits that the kids loved.
Spent two hours there viewing the Unzipped exhibit - the Rolling Stones history. Very well done Interactive and lots of information given on their journey. Wardrobe, album covers, model of their flat, and music playing throughout the exhibit all made for a great afternoon. Finale of their concert in Havana was well worth it all!
Jesse Thistle lecture, most interesting
Excellent exhibition Unzipped
Great family outing
Love this place! Unique themed installatuons, very interactive and fun.
Great place to bring kids of all ages.
Great interactive museum focused on educating children.
Doing a great job of providing an eclectic assortment of events for KW
Fun exhibits, great for kids, a little small and empty in places, but not very expensive and a lot of fun
Interesting and very interactive. My 8 yeqr old loved it very much, she was upset to leave after 3 hours. Every museum should be like this.
So much fun, we went as a family, and spent most of the afternoon there.
Great to bring your kids to!
Great place to visit for interactive exhibits that are fun for all ages!
Cool place to check out, especially on $5 reduced price Wednesdays! Friendly front desk staff!
Cool, open concept facility, lots of interesting things for kids to check out and interact with. Kids from about 4 to 10 should be pretty much into everything, there is a small toddler area and a handful of the interactive things are probably for older kids, or for parents to work on with the kids. I'd recommend going and plan for at least 2hours.
It's more of an indoor playplace then a museum. Kids loved it but they were not interested in looking at the exhibits because there was too much fun to be had playing in the balloons :)
Went for a birthday party. The facility was excellent, with a good mixture between fun things to do for the kids, and educational things to do for the grown ups
The exhibit on the fourth floor included a sandtable and a room filled with balloons. It was great the kids (5, 2) loved it. The water table was a hit and overall friendly staff and an enjoyable experience. We were there approximately an hour and a half.
Been going here most of my life and they're doing a great job of bringing in fun, engaging content. The Spectrum exhibit is an unbelievable amount of fun for adults and kids alike and the children's facilities are always a hit.
Great places for the kids
Our little guy is just shy of two and just loves it here! There's a little something for all ages.
Easy beer
Great place to entertain your kids
The sensory room for little ones was wonderful. There are alot of boards that need repair but for the most part they work. The lit tubes were a big hit with the little ones. Most of the floor is padded which offers a nice safe place for tumbles. There's so much to see and do for all the age groups. The upper level offers a lot of activities for the older kids 5+. Well deffinetly be going back.
Great time for the kids and the exhibits are great
Very inexpensive, many exhibits that appeal to all ages, designed for children but informative and allows parent child interaction. A fun way to learn and bond together for a low price and easily spend several hours together or a short time if that's all you have
Great spot. Lots of activities. Fun for young and old.
There are lots of things for the kids
Great place for kids
Great space, minimal content. Very little explanation of what the exhibits were supposed to represent. Strange gift shop...vagina ornaments and tampon key chains? I don't get it
A great place for the kids, friendly and open.... A good balance of interactive and educational.
Was good a few years ago..... Finding it a little run down lately. Either way, kids will enjoy it.
Lots of interactive activities.
Great service and the food was filling
A modern facility. Well laid out and accessible. Friendly, helpful staff. My only quibble would be that during a pandemic and with timed entries it might make sense to pre-screen vaccination passports so there isn't a log jam with everyone at the start, which eats into the 2 hr ticket window and reduces spacing between groups....perhaps this is only an issue at the 10am opening though and not so much with later bookings.
My family visited THEMUSEUM for the first time today and I was truly amazed that a place like this exists in Kitchener. The quality of the exhibits is world class. My kids loved it and I quote from one of them: "this is the best place I have ever been to!" Most of it it geared towards kids but there are definitely interesting things for all ages. Lots of interactive things. I don't think I saw a "no touching" sign in the whole place! We went on a Saturday and it was surprisingly not crowded. Will definitely go back again
Fun for kids. Older kids will fund the computer game floor very interesting andd fun.
Very good, but boring as it doesn't change up too often
Loved the Spectrum exhibit!
We went for The Brush-Off and had a fantastic time! The staff are professional and super helpful.
Great place to take the kids. They have some interesting exhibits for us adults from time to time too.
An amazing space fir kids of all ages that lets your mind explore and play. We had the best time!!!!!
Such a great place to spend an afternoon and they have $7 admission on Wednesday. The spectrum exhibit is great and something you should check out before it's gone. It's very interactive and there's something to do for all ages.
What a fun place for the whole family
Kids loved it. Lots of activities for them.
Quantum: The Exhibition. If you or your kids have an interest in science the you must see this.
First time there. Was very impressed with the displays.
Great place to go with the kids one or two times, but small and repetitive. Thankfully, they have great exhibits that change on the main floor to add variety.
Killer venue and they're doing a great job of programming it.
The Museum is a wonderful resource in downtown Kitchener. The exhibitions that come in are not always something I'm interested in, but if you have children the first two floors of the museum offer excellent play and learning opportunities. Currently they have a video game display that is interactive and lots of fun (and nostalgic), as well as an interactive art installation that my daughters enjoyed. You can bring a lunch and enjoy it in the main room, build with blocks, dance with light and shadows, and explore the fish in the aquarium.
Super fun place
Cool
Great museum with a great variety of events
THE MUSEUM
Neat place. A little pricey.
A fantastic family-friendly place to learn eat and play. THEMUSEUM is certainly among our family's go to list for a fun day out. With an ever changing exhibition, the experience is often unique.
This is a tough place to judge. If you visit with small children up to the age of six, they will find the interactive exhibits, displays, and games to be really fun and engaging (I certainly would have if I was that age). The problem, however, is that THEMUSEUM is really small and you'll find it difficult to take more than an hour. I certainly was underwhelmed and honestly a little bored. Unlike more in-depth children's museums, there isn't anything here that get the entire family interested.
Planning a birthday party here for my son was a total hit! If it wasn't for the staff, especially Julia and Victoria, I would have had a heck of a time sorting it out. The kids loved the Digiplayspace and all the other kids displays that were running, and the party room was decked out by The Museum themselves! Can't say enough awesome things ???? thanks for making it a memorable day!
It's not as big as you think. Can do the entire building all sections with decent play time in 2 hours. Typical childrens museum with a reliance in technology and screens.
So much to see and do!
This is the best place kids in KW. No doubt about it.
This fun downtown museum has something for everyone. When I visited, there was a show put together by local refugees and high school students, a travelling exhibit about cryptocurrency, and loads of fun activities for kids and adults alike.
First time, went to the opening of the Alarm exhibit. The venue was good. Interesting choice of exhibits. Some.more interactive fact based exhibits could have had a better impact teaching the general public. Some exhibits to abstract that the message was lost. Just happy our community is trying to communicate the need for change, sustainability and conservation.
Came here on a Wednesday evening to check out the Interaction exhibit. Our group really enjoyed the nostalgic computers and games. The employee turned on some other art exhibits even though it was past the time they were technically supposed to be running. We really appreciated the guided tour! Neat place, for sure.
Not a whole lot to do. The children like it.
I went to The Museum for the first time this week with my husband and had a great time! A great space that is full of potential, but fell short in some areas. The main attractions were quantum and nature unleashed, these were both well done but understaffed and would have been better with more museum staff to answer questions. The kid's science floors were good, but pretty run down and in need of cleaning. I give this review a 4/5 because even though it may deserve more of a 3/5 the staff that I could find really made up for this. Brook was very pleasant and helpful and Kim at reception was amazing! Not only did Kim convince us that it was worth coming in when we were just looking, but she also recommended a place for us to get dinner after, convinced us it was not a children's museum by telling us about things like a museum beer event and even laughed with us when picking out some things in The Museum store. We will be back for the beer event soon! Thank you Brook and Kim!
This place is great for kids. It’s worth getting a membership. There’s a sensory room for the little ones and their video game exhibit is worth checking out. It’s on till May. I like that they have a member appreciation event with Santa Claus for the kids. My recommendations for improvements are: a photographer during Santa with a donation option would have been a good idea. Plus it can give a photographer exposure and wouldn’t cost much to organize. Also, if the museum is closed to the public for special events then I recommend a special notice on the main page of the website that gets updated regularly (with specific closures instead of a general notice) as well as social media notifications.
The Museum is a great place to take kids. There's interactive and sensory tables for kids to play with. You can easily keep your kids occupied, happy and learning for hours.
I absolutely love taking my son here to play. The staff is very friendly and are always willing to help. I can't speak highly enough about this interactive museum.
Interesting things like a plasma
Fantastic facility, definitely recommend a visit
Great special exhibition, but the other exhibitions were a bit disheveled or not well maintained.
Super fun place
It's like when they were building the museum that they spent 75% of the capital budget on the building and the leftover on exhibits. I would say this is more geared to families with kids under 8. Great they're open, but downstairs level still closed. The library loans out passes here, but can't book online with it yet.
Went here for an after hours taco and beer event. Was extremely well run and a lot of fun.
Loved visiting The Rolling Stones Exhibitionism. Incredible display of Stones' artifacts.
Great place for kids and adults alike! Amazing staff. Perfect place to let the kids burn some energy and learn !
We attended a private event. We could park in the Duke Street parking garage and use that entrance - really nice if it is raining or if level access is helpful. Staff were very accommodating. Depending on the number of people it can get a bit loud and difficult for anyone with hearing issues. Main room is a great space for a group.
I go every 2yrs with the kids. Good environment. Good people. Not too many places like this around here for the kids to learn something.
Great plave to take the family . Wednesday's are 1/2 price So even better for us parents !♡
Awesome events. Great night last night for the Jerry Howarth talk and book signing
Lots to do, clean staff were kind and helpful we will be back
good place for kids 6+ A lot of granola meets H&M parents that believe their 3 year old may read a physics textbook. Anyway, over 50$ for an adult, 2 kids and parking for the day is steep.
Enjoyed our visit and the classic video games exhibit, seems more geared for kids and families.
The unzipped exhibit was great!
A very nice museum for families and adults! Nice exhibits, I recommend it!
Lots of child friendly activities. Safe and comfortable for young children. Great for days when you don't want the kids outside
Good place to take the kids. Although even tho they 5 floors, there isn't much there. The underground was the best place for our kids. They got to make some interesting things.
Great place to take the kids so they can unwind. Interactive exhibits are fun for all ages and we found this a really nice family experience. I would definitely take family members who visit with kids here.
Nice place to hold a wedding reception
Lots of activities for kids. Perfect for a rainy day.
Worth a visit
Love my B Family ❤
This place is great, could use more staff to explain some things and replenish or reset things. I did not see any staff after the front door. Still an excellent museum for kids. Hands on activities that are lots of fun.
Wonderful place with lots of things for kids to do and adults to learn.
If you have an Ontario Science Centre membership you can use it here. It's also free for teachers. It was fun to spend a couple of hours here with our kids.
Great interactive place for kids 2-5
I guess I had high expectations because I thought there would be a lot more to do.
Only been here during taco fest but the place is really nice inside!
Tons of fun and lots to do/explore/play for young and curious kids
Was in when of their rented rooms. Very spacious and clean.
Went for pride-toberfest and it was amazing. It was great to get out again with the way things have been for everyone. The staff are absolutely amazing. Would give 6 stars if I could!
My son loved every moment of the museum. The spectrum exhibit is a must see for kids!
Very well priced for the amount of stuff packed into The Museum, as an adult we spent a lot of time racing plastic boats
Loved the Unzipped experience. Would go back again to see what I misses
Good place to visit along with children
Great for the kids at heart as well as the children!
Good place to spend a couple of hours at if you have younger kids(In my opinion under 5). Our oldest is four and had a good time.
Awesome place but could use a good clean, especially the toys.
Needs better selection.
Attended a wedding reception here. Love how big and open it feels.
Fantastic place to bring kids of all ages
Went today to see the dinosaur exhibit. What can I say. They had maybe 6 dinosaurs. Not a lot going on there yet if I were you I would wait until they get settled. My three year old had nothing to do not much to look at and an employee following us around telling people to stop touching things then spraying stuff down with Lysol. I loved this place I think they just need more time to get organized and find a better system and more things to see. Maybe next year I’ll try again
It was a fun place! My 4 kids who are 7,5,3 and 1.5 found fun things to do. There was a lot of space for our double stroller. The employees were so happy to help. I would go back again????
Super fun for kids! Had a great day exploring, learning and having fun!
It's fun to check out all the little exhibits. Would probably get old fast. Good to keep children occupied.
I cannot get an answer from their Customer Service. I've emailed twice since Monday and not a word from them.
November 2020...the staff was exceptionally kind. Some cool things to look at but it took us only an hour to explore the whole building, maybe the experience would be better if the closed off parts were open. If someone from the museum is interested, I could provide some suggestions.
We were at a wedding here this past weekend. Great idea! Plenty of room. The wedding was on the first floor, then all guest went up to the second floor while the first floor was arranged for dinner. After we ate, we again resumed to the second floor while tables were arranged for a night of dancing. Fantastic!
I visited the museum this month with 3 other adults and a baby, and we ALL enjoyed the experience. The Sonica exhibit was extremely interactive, as was the second floor exhibit. We played music on a walking piano, made our own mini animated film clip, lay on a bed of real nails, navigated a marble through a massive labyrinth, and more. Overall I would say it skews toward younger interests; there is lots to DO/PLAY but not much to read in terms of text panels/back story (compared to the ROM, for example). Admission is fair at $15/adult, and we could easily enjoy 1.5hrs inside. We will be back when baby is older, and/or when they rotate exhibits.
It was awsome
Absolutely rude and discriminatory staff. Despite having a legit medical exemption to both a mask and vax, they were rude and refused me entry although my party of 4 all had tickets since last summer. I called a day ahead and was informed …
Loved it. So much to do with the kids
We love coming here, everything is well organized and kept clean. Great job.
Would be nice if we new the hours of operation and cost that is why there is a one star rating
It is an interesting place, but I feel like the space isn't that well utilized.
I think it should be all the time but I know they have to make money to have that again thank you it was nice
Great time for the family every time we go. Not the biggest museum, but large enough for an afternoon of distraction for the kids.
For 13$ per adult and 9$ for children over 3yo, ended up paying over 46$ for the 4 of us and i don't think we got our money's worth.
There's lots of stuff to do and will keep kids of all ages entertained for a couple of hours at least. It is a bit in the expensive side compared to other family activities: a family of 4 will be more than $50 (plus the cost of parking). They do allow outside food and drinks to be brought in which is nice.
Extremely fun venue for Pridetoberfest 2021. Multiple floors, great lgbt perfomances. Cool photo opps with red couch, table and plants. Nicely located near other restos.
Got my scarf stolen there when I left it in the coat rack.
Fun exhibits, kind staff and engaging displays for all ages make this museum unique. This museum is particularly child friendly, and is well suited to the young and the young at heart.
It was quite a bit of fun and my kids enjoyed the brain exhibits, the kids play area, and the digital exhibition! We got a solid 2-3 hours of time.
Sad but beautiful at the same time perfect 7/5
Constantly changing exhibits , local art exhibits featured, fun interactive activities. 4 floors with all different exhibits
A fun and interactive museum which is very kid friendly Staff are always friendly and the exhibits change regularly.
Had a great time at Pickle Fest Third year in a row great venue.
Cool place to check out! I can't believe I've lived in the area for 10 years and experienced it for the first time just recently. Inky complaint, it'ss a little hot on the top floor.
Went to the restaurant for first time. It was quaint.
Very thoughtful staff and some very interesting exhibits. Plasma ball is very fun to play with. The space itself is stunning and there are many interactive exhibits. The maker lab really stands out!
Kids love it. Very interactive.
The New Year 2019 it was a fraud!!. My family and friends, celebrated at this place. The posted "The event live Cuban music from Cassava Latin Band, a DJ and cuban food. Drinks " They didn't served Cuban food just a junior burger and for the price was too much.. $91 and for VIP $120 plus. I understand is New Year but my group we din't have a dinner before to go and I see other people they were disappointed. ????☹????????????????
Always a fun place to be. Its clean and staff are (mostly) friendly. Love that they change the exhibits frequently.
Very interactive and hands on place for young children.
Super cute museum, my daughter loved the interactive toys and the staff did a great job of keeping the clean vs used toys separate!
Great family fun!
Love when it rains you can still Ware out the kids
Excellent programs especially for PD day and summer camps Great place to visit with family
Fun place for your little one and u can have a quick nap and relaxing day.
Very interesting information and instruments.. $40.00is a bit expensive..
great activities for the kids for the price.
Great food events. Fun atmosphere
Cool place, also have awesome charity events
Finally checked this place out and we’re glad we did. Lots of interactive exhibits for my son to enjoy. Make sure you take a trip to the Underground Workshop. We almost missed it which would’ve been a shame. The workshop on electric currents and LED run by Topher was the highlight of our visit. My son loved the hands on educational experience.
Great place to take your kids
love this place since i was young
Even with some exhibits unable to be used, there are still lots of things for the kiddies ( and adults) to enjoy!
Warm cosy place.
I love it here!????
The Rolling Stones exhibit was very interesting . I would certainly recommend to anyone who likes the Stones .
A fabulous wedding venue. Well done, organized and unique!
It's ok
Not a bad place to bring your kids to play around. I found the brain exhibit fairly interesting.
This is a great place for kindergarten to grade 5 kids. They've got a lot of interesting exhibits and interactive activities.
Best Tuesday afternoon I ever had. ❤️
Smaller than I expected. We were finished in an hour so i'm unsure if it was good value for money. Kids had fun though.
Although my child and I always enjoy our experience here, we were disappointed in our March break visit as two of the features were out of order and they just so happened to be my son's favourite.
Went as a grade one school trip with my nieces. The displays were interactive for all ages, very well set up. It was a well kept and overall a great place to bring kids of all ages! They also did an activity with solar power as part of their trip which was well organized and very informative at a level they understand. The staff working were wonderful people. Helpful, kind and caring. One of my nieces hurt herself and the staff were quick to get her taken care of and back to participating
Super disappointed during my recent visit here! I recently moved to Kitchener and have been wanting to check this place out, and thought it would make for a nice date too. Majority of the museum is geared towards children and playtime activities. Might make for a great visit for families with young children, but as two adults (me and my date) with no kids, it was incredibly boring. I felt like I had been robbed of my money based on the step admission cost for what I got in return. Definitely won't be returning here.
Cool place to check out. Lots of child friendly and interactive things and they often have different exhibits that are very neat.
Went here for Picklefest for the first time and loved it! A little crowded because of the event but I plan on going back!
It was great
Great place to bring kids to play and learn a little something too. Parking garage is attached to museum and inexpensive. Lots of hand sanitizer stations as well. Children under 3 are free.
My son had a great time here. The staff were friendly and extremely diligent in Cleaning high touch items and surfaces.
Amazing
This is definitely one of my favorite places to take my toddler! My son loves going here! We have a membership which is definitely worth it, so much to do and it never gets old. Definitely recommend
Great place to bring your kids
Omg, this was soooooo fun, we went for picklefest and had a blast. An amazing place, we can't wait to check out more events.
Great place for kiddos! Wish parking was easier.
Pretty cool library
My son loved it there. Lots of fun. Crazy at times with all the kids running around. Be careful of the parents that pay no attention to their own kids and let them run wild grabbing toys out of other children's hands.
TheMuseum is a destination that provides a diverse range of attractions and activities that are suitable for people of all age groups. The marketing initiatives through social media made this destination more prominent compared to other destinations in the area.
Such a cool place
We went for a class today and it was great! Riley was a wonderful, helpful instructor. All the museum staff were helpful and friendly. The 5 kids in our car group had a blast.
They do a great job for private events.
I've loved this place since I was a child
This place is ok but it's small. You can see everything in less than an hour. There are some interactive things that can lengthen the experience if your kids have good attention spans
This summer we got married at THEMUSEUM, and it was AWESOME! My husband and I fell in love with this venue because it’s a unique, non-traditional venue in a great location. We did pictures all within walking distance of THEMUSEUM (The Walper, some of the back alleys, Victoria Park), and we stayed literally right across the street at the Walper on our wedding night. We had our ceremony in the atrium, cocktail hour up on the balconies (guests were able to explore all the exhibits), and then dinner/dancing in the atrium. We had 108 guests, and also had a live band! Robyn was our coordinator and she did an amazing job of running the show! She is super organized and made sure we thought of every small detail. Her team helped our vendors in the setup and the transitions from ceremony to dinner and then dinner to dance. THEMUSEUM’s AV and lighting tech also did a great job throughout the night! I would highly recommend THEMUSEUM for anyone looking for a unique wedding venue. If you can, request Robyn as your coordinator because she is so professional and a great person to work with!
We cannot wait to go back. Our visit went beyond our expectations. The facility was very clean, and we felt safe the entire time. Educational and great place to reconnect with our family. Sonica was amazing, the dinosaurs were a family favourite. We will be back to see unzipped. See you again soon. #ExploreWR
I have purchased the membership to attend with my two year old. I want to love this place because the concept is great. I just wish there was more creativity items on the second floor to entertain young kids and can be shared with the crowd. The third floor is beyond young kids ability to be interactive and requires more reading by adults that have the time and attention to spare when not chasing after children. The forth floor I found most enjoyable for my toddler. The green screen and the projection screens seemed to entertain the crowd of kids. I like they they tried to provide exhibits like animal shows. Again I really want to love this place is I just think that more can be added to ensure kids of all ages are learning participating and exploring their creativity. Will go back!...And will continue to support this local business
So fun for adults and kids alike. Some of the interactive exhibits were not working but we loved the balloon room and period exhibit!
They host great events here. There is a restaurant right inside that you can have a drink or dinner before or after your tour through the museum
Very family friendly and fun
I love this place! While it's tailored towards children, science-minded adults can have a great time here too. The third and fourth floors always have rotating exhibits - fascinating stuff that challenges you and makes you think. Highly recommended unless science gives you hives or something.
Fun spot with changing interactive displays for people of all ages
Incredible exhibits for all ages
There is much hoopla about the dinosaur exhibt at this time. Please dont go for that..... extremely small showing...kids were disappointed! It took less than 4 minutes to view. An entire large area is closed due to the fact that some group (motto is tongue hanging out...very rude) is coming! The sound exhibt is OK....but really no explanation available for younger kids on the purpose on the display. My Grandson was very disappointed about the closed area because he was planning on enjoying the hands on area he experienced before covid.
We went on their reduced night not sure what to expect, but had a great time. There are 4 floors, the first two are like the science center, very interactive displays more geared towards kids, and the top 2 change. When we were there there was an display of old computer games and game consoles which was cool, and retro photos. I could see us coming back again.
Not alot to do. They need more kid friendly activities
Great time pass
Very enjoyable, alot of cool and fun things to see
Excellent place for the kids
This is an awesome place for kids and big kids alike. With the planned activities and the interactive exhibits, we were there about three hours until they closed and we all (adult, teen, preschool) left wanting more.
The brain display was AWESOME, the giant floor piano and the nail bed. I wish there was more for my older child. All in all a great trip. I would visit again.
Great place for kids
Was very disappointed, expected a lot more. May be good for toddlers and young children but our kids were bored and didn't find it edu atonal or challenging at all. Quite expensive for what you actually received. Wouldn't recommend it.
I don't regularly write reviews, but I can honestly say hand on heart this is not worth the money - in fact I would rank it as the worst "Museums" I have ever visited. To call it a Museum is a bit of a stretch, it is more like the sort display that you would find at an amusement park. A bad amusement park. As others have stated you can be in and out in about 20 mins, there is very limited things to see, and there is no real information on anything. Without intending to insult anyone, the whole thing feels like a low budget school project.
I liked the wednesday cheaper pricing. There is lots of good stuff for the kids on the first two floors. Second third floor was for video game lovers and the top floor for adults. I loved when they had the balloon room! They shoukd bring it back! And the sticker room too :)
Love this place! SO much to do and see. Its all around a great place for all ages!
I liked
It was ok.
Fun place to take the kiddies. The low light sensory room is great for babies and toddlers although kids a bit older like it too. They have big giant foam blocks on the main floor and it's cool to see kids work together to build something - and then crash it down, of course. Second floor has the ever popular flowing water feature and piano mat. Third floor has the star dome thing (they do a space show in there, about 20 min or so) and the feature exhibit. Watch for special events to make it even more fun. Staff are friendly and enthusiastic. You can bring your own food which is great. We park in the parking garage right behind the Museum. I think the third floor of the garage gives access to the Museum.
Picklefest is awesome!!
Good for 1-3 hrs
Great fun for the kids! Lots of levels and areas to play and discover
Fabulous wedding of Nicola and Sarah Jane!
I've loved having a membership here. The exhibits are great and staff are friendly. However, it would be nice if the membership desk was open during special events (like today - Easter egg hunt) to help move the check in lines faster - especially for those of us who dont have to pay upon each visit. We bought ours on new years day to specifically speed up the process of admittance.
It was loud, but fun. I recommend this place.
Excellent fun museum.
Great little independent museum with interesting exhibitions and fun events.
Such a great place to bring kids! There is so much to see, do and learn.
Definitely not worth the trip, was done in under 20min
Great place to spend the day with kids of all ages.
Great venue for a wedding!!!
A great, interactive place to take the kids. They need to change out the exhibits more frequently.
Just unexpectedly pleasant experience for the kids and adults. Their website doesn't do them justice, hence our low expectations. Very hands on facility, from building to water and music play.
COVID aside, this place is really bad value. Dinosaur exhibit is half a floor and is a few models and they have cut the interactive floor in half. Avoid.
Stones show was great.
Great venue for Science Gradball 2020. Beautiful looking and spacious.
Really enjoyed bringing my younger children here. It is a very interactive place with lots to do. A great indoor activity. Not very expensive especially if you go on Wednesdays. They have an area that is appropriate for infants and younger toddlers that is full of quiet sensory items. It is very clean. The main area of the first floor is great for kids to build with life size Lego blocks and large soft padded blocks of different shapes. My kids really loved it. The second floor has lots of interactive play stations for preschool and school aged kids. Be aware there is a water based station that is very popular and while they provide smocks your kids will likely get wet. You can bring your own food and there is a microwave and tables to eat at. I recommend parking at the parkade that is connected to the museum by a walkway.
Very interesting...lots to discover
We had our daughters 6th birthday party here. Beyond amazing ! Our coordinator was so helpful and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was a good one. Tones of stuff for the kids to do. Everyone had such a great time. Highly recommend !!
Was always a good time here
Beautiful interior and great shows!
Went here for a seminar, very cool space
Great attraction, nice to see a little brain teaser place.
We love to bring our toddler here to explore for a few hours on the weekend, family pass cost was very reasonable for that purpose, interesting exhibits come and go from the main floor that keep it fresh and the staff are excellent
Awesome for kids. Mine are 3 and 6 and love going to The Museum near every weekend.
My kids and I really enjoyed the special exhibit, it was lots of fun and very interactive. However, there wasn't a whole lot to do outside of that. Some of the permanent displays weren't well kept and weren't overly exciting. I think we'd only visit again if there was another special exhibit we were interested in.
I had a good time visiting The Museum with my boyfriend a week ago. We simply went online, checked the visiting hours through their easily accessible website, and were thrilled to see that the current exhibition was "Nature Unleashed". It was the perfect thing to do on a Saturday afternoon, we grabbed lunch right after at Rainbow's Caribbean Cafe just down the street, and there are many other great lunch options in the area, as well as a cafe located inside The Museum itself! The Museum is located right in the heart of downtown and is easy to get to using public transportation, however there is very little parking in the area so either plan ahead in regards to parking or plan to take public transportation. As soon as you walk into The Museum there is a great sense of fun and that atmosphere remains throughout the attraction as it seems that this is a museum geared mostly towards children and families. The Museum, apart from the exhibition, seemed to lack content and could perhaps use more art pieces. For this reason I did not feel like it was quite worth the $12.00 adult rate we each paid, however there are days listed on the website with reduced fares. The "Nature Unleashed" exhibit was excellent, taking viewers through various different types of natural disasters including earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and volcanoes. Each type of natural disaster had great displays and interactive experiences to give you a better sense of the severity of that natural phenomenon. There were stories from survivors different natural disasters, as well as educational information explaining how each one occurs. We left with a much better understanding of these natural occurrences as well as great respect for the survivors of them and the communities that have suffered any of them. After leaving The Museum we both agreed that it had been too pricey for what we got to see, but that it was still a good time and an enjoyable afternoon. I would recommend this attraction to any young families or any adults who are young at heart and looking for a fun hour.
Probably great for kids. Not so great for adults. Needs updating
Beautiful...
great for kids in the day easy and affordable for a family activity during the day it be great
My kids' all-time favourite place...hours of fun to be had!!!
Good spot to take the kids.
