REVIEWS OF Fort Henry National Historic Site IN Kingston

Jay Yang

There are a lot of exhibit rooms to visit. Besides that, they offer 4 programs explaining artilleries, rifiles, music instruments, and the role of woman in the fort. The staff are very nice. Will definitely be visiting fort Henry next year for the big show.

FESapper

Seen the Marine Silent Drill Team. Awesome experience.

Peter Ayache

The fort was closed but enjoyed a nice walk around it. I would go back to see the inside and discover the history. It looks very interesting.

CB

Great historic site. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Definitely worth the admission.

Hariprasad Ramakrishnan

Nice place to visit in Kingston. Do ask a lot of questions to the guides and get to know the history. You can spend 3 to 4 hours here by taking the tour. Listening and talking to guide and getting some nice clicks.

John

It's a great place to take visitors. You only pay when you want to go into the Fort proper and can visit the shops, look out over Kingston and see the Guard practicing gratis. The Sunset Ceremony is first-rate and well worth the time. Veterans get a huge break on the cost of tickets

Julien A

Very interesting visit at Fort Henry. Great presentation, demonstrations, a perfect view of Kingston's skyline and an opportunity to discover more about history of Canada.

Nancy J

Lumina Boreal is is worth the time and the cold!

diane hill

Free guided tour was very informative and educational. The guide was dressed in a costume of the period and provided a glimpse of what his life would have been like at that time. Fort is well preserved and presented.

Demi

Came here for Pumpkinferno and had a blast!

True Adventure

Highly recommend if you enjoy history but it is also just a nice place on the lake if you are not. Great views. Nice restaurant overlooking the lake as well. Well run historical site - reenactments, and well maintained fort. Great parking. Very interesting. If you are going by it is worth the stop.

Steve

I somehow went into this thinking that surely a big old fort would be boring, but I was so wrong. The fort is massive and well done up. There's incredible re-enactments constantly going on in the square - we watched for quite some time, captivated at the precision and accuracy of these reenactments! When exploring around the fort, a lot of the rooms are either re-done to period specific style, or are used as museum rooms (each room focusing on different topics and having a large variety of amazing artifacts - if you're into that stuff). Some of the rooms are also part of reenactments too, like the school room (which hosts a short school for guests every day) and bakery (which had bakers baking AMAZING smelling bread over the fire). We came back a second time and did one of the ghost walks here after dark, which was a really cool time to see the fort and hear some eerie stories. Would definitely go back again and spend more time there! The place is a fury of activity and I'm sure we didn't even see it all! Worth the visit! We did it as part of a kpass.

Natarajan Ravikumar

Great place. Good view of Kingston from an elevation. Washrooms available. Lumina Borealis in winter and Craft Beer Fest in summer some of the best events. Parking available and bike racks are located at one end. Disabled people friendly trails can be found though different tyres may be required. Great views of Lake Ontario too.

Duane Martin

This is a nice tourist attraction. Lot's to see and learn. My kids enjoyed it.

Cathy Cooper

It's closed right now, but you can stroll around the property

Uma Chidambaram

There is more to visit than a fort. If you walk around the fort, you can find a beach which is one of the best places to relax.

Philip Ball

Enjoyed the guided tour, as it made the place come to life. Impressive amount of work went into it's building and good to see it being used so well.

Booyaka Stubbs (ExplorewithStubbs.com)

Haven't been here in about 20yrs and decided I want the kids to see this historic location. The last time I was here with my parents, we ended up meeting one of my mom's students from high school. He showed us around the fort and gave us a somewhat private tour. We had an amazing time and learned so much, he really took pride in his duties and it showed. This trip unfortunately wasn't as good because we arrived with only 30 minutes left and from memory it takes a few hours to go around. We will come and try again before heading back to the west coast..

Stephen

Pumpkin Inferno was a great attraction.

Prads RK

Good place for a quick visit in summers. Beautiful scenic views make it a wonderful place for photography. It's nearby Thousand Islands so both can be done in a days trips. If you have time you can just sit around and relax. The back of the fort has waters with small islands overlooking two lighthouses which is really good to just sit back and watch.

Vitaliy

Top 1 place to visit in KIngston

Vincent Houghtaling (ocarina_21)

Great living history site with knowledgeable and keen staff. Lots of activity throughout the day to keep you interested. They even fired a cannon! How can you go wrong?

Jacob Pullia

Lumina Borealis was quite the experience. The scenery, music, and lighting was phenomenal. A must-see during the holidays.

Kandita Post

Went for pumpkin inferno. Was a great family evening.

Lisa McY

We took the Haunted Ghost walk tour at 9pm. Great experience!!

Kaushal Pandey

If u like History !

EXOTIC

great to visit. not as amazing during a pandemic. great views and amazing staff doesn't change!!

Mary Buynak

We love the different family events at Fort Henry. The Sunset Ceremony was fun and informative. Our kids (10 and 13) enjoyed being called to "enlist" and learn how to March like a soldier.

Tina Hunter

See there ARE ghosts running around Fort Henry.... I even know them personally as Tarissa and Lucas...lol ????????

Rajendra Patel

Good for family picnic

Andrew Dibden

Great way to get to know historical Canada. Very immersive experience.

Mohammed Naushad Rahman

Nice place to visit. It's a good experience.

Darren M

If you are a history buff or a family looking for a great evening out; this place is for you. The sunset show is phenomenal with a live battle in front of you. The show itself lasts about 90 mins. The ending chokes you up with a tribute to the fallen and the singing of our national anthem with a fireworks display. Bring your own seat cushion and take the ear plugs offered to you. I had the experience on front row bleachers and the action is loud especially the cannon fire.

Inna Manova

Well maintained impressive fort from 1830. The highlight are the tour guides. Dressed appropriately to the era, they are knowledgeable, responsive with welcoming attitude. They act as if we are still in 19th century, theatrical to the max. We had such a fun! Kids were mainly impressed with the canon shooting presentation

Noha

We had so much fun! The best part was everyone there dressed up in time period appropriate outfits, and even going so far as to pretend to be living there/carrying out day-to-day tasks. The views around the fort were definitely photo-worthy. So overall, I would highly recommend people check it out.

Yusuf Taherali

I have been to the fort a couple of times and everytime I have enjoyed my time here. The guards in uniform and the staff dressed in traditional historic attire brings a special touch to this place. The views from the place is quite scenic too.

Daniel Goodland

The 2018 Tattoo event was Amazing! The Fort put on a show to remember!

Ravi K

Visited with family on a labor day, fort location is beautiful, patio of bistro at fort was super, awesome view of lake Ontario. Walking through the history was good, I was expecting but more from parade.

David Poole

A proud part of our Canadian heritage.

Nate

Fort Henry was a fantastic experience! They had a very cool tour around the base, full of information about the base. The staff here was very knowledgeable and made the experience that much better. They also have some other cool things, like little shops and live demonstrations, such as firing blanks from a cannons and rifle military drill. They were spot on with everything, and the pricing for it is very reasonable considering everything there is to do.

Brent Dalley

Good place for children to learn about Canadian history. Especially during COVID. We had the place mostly to ourselves.

Sara Ami Mlaga

So interested!! Really appreciated it. ❤❤❤

Ramses Morales

The staff that work at the Welcome/Westgate are very friendly. The site holds gorgeous views looking down into lake Ontario, wolf island. You can also go and check out their self guided tours for I recalled was $13 CAD. Definitely a landmark site so visit in Kingston, Ontario.

Traveling SweetPea

I came right at the beginning of the season which means not quite as much stuff is open as it would be during their peak. Even so all the interpreters were eager, ready to go, and knowledgeable. I did the free tour and it was really good, got to see some interesting parts of of the fort that I may not have otherwise. The Fort itself is really interesting and has some great views over the water. If you love history and getting to explore historic landmarks then this is the place for you!

khan saab

What a view what a feel. Must visit for everyone. If u visit kingston add this to your list. There is an entry fee which is justified by the forts maintenance. There's an restaurant inside they are super busy. Food is great. View is great form the restuarant too.

Harshal Soni

Really enjoyed visiting the fort. We witnessed demonstration on the Rifle and cannons. It was great. I wish that the first was in its original state instead of the restored version. Nonetheless, it was an awesome experience

Audrey Desmarteaux-Houle

Beautiful site! Our interactive tour guide, LCol M. Bennett, was superb! From the moment you step into the Fort you are transported back to 1867 and all employees interact with you as period actors. A definite must should you visit Kingston!

Alisha

Nice place to visit, and learn about the history of the fort.

James Jaspar

i go t attacekd by a bat here once also i think i met god

Arun vr

An Awesome Historic place

Amanda Huang

Beautiful historic fort! The displays were well-done and plaques were very informative. I learned a lot during my visit. The view of Kingston and Lake Ontario from the top of the fort is incredible. There are people in era-appropriate costumes to answer any questions. General admission price is reasonable and there is lots of free parking available. Unfortunately, I came on a rainy day so there was no rifle demonstration. Dress appropriately as there are indoor and outdoor walking portions of the self-guided tour. Maps are provided when you check-in but you don't really need it because there are arrows to guide you through. Despite the ongoing pandemic situation, I felt safe visiting. There are hand sanitizers available and enough space to distance yourself from another group. Would recommend to my history-loving friends!

Patrick Wilson

Great tour and amazing history. Wish we seen silent drill team.

Patrick Vigneault

Too expensive for the tour. We miss the Sunset Ceremony. Bring it back. Without that the visit does not worth it.

James

Not quite interesting for me but for others.

Limesh Jose

Amazing place …. We got a chance to see the cannon fire demonstration ????

Oscar Cecena

Quite interesting and, if you're into military history, even better! Seeing the fort makes you understand why it never saw any action. At the time, it was an impregnable fortress.

Nick

I went for the fort fright event. Alot of work was put into this event, as far as scaring people while social distancing goes staff provided an amazing Halloween themed experience.

Melissa Price

The food was ok but not hot when we got it. The washrooms are outside & down from the event room which was messy & cold on the night of our event. The room itself was also quite cold. The staff were very nice and accommodating.

David Schulz

Awesome historic site. We went to see Pumpinferno which was an amazing display against the backdrop of the Fort.

Alice Cheng鄭美智

very good site

Pascal Van Bladel

Loved it, shows a little part of Canadian and British history .I went in september, not to much visitors ,lots of parking space and a great view on the city.

Tahir Pasha

Pumpkin Inferno was amazing. Wear for the weather though.

John Limbert

The kids liked it.

scott wright

History lesson combined with fantastic views of Kingston.

athira pallacheril

Worth visiting. Very polite and friendly staff. Try not to miss their demonstrations.

Matt Perry

We saw the Sunset Tattoo! Loved it. We stuck around for the Haunted Tour as well. In the bakery a heavy door slammed shut for no apparent reason. Ooooh Ah Ah Ha! Great time all around

Monica Dostal

Fort Fright is a very well done haunted house for both older kids and adults!

richard young

Historic, amazing, the architecture, the moats etc ????????????????????

Melissa S

Very knowledgeable staff. Great view of the lake. Fantastic historical site, and something to learn for every age. I'll definitely be coming back to Fort Henry. It's one of my favourite War of 1812 forts. Check out Fort York, Fort George and Fort Erie if you're love history and the War of 1812 forts.

Nick Lupu

Very cool pumpkin displays! Epic enough for the entire family!

Logan Mccready

Went to see the Sunset Ceremony which was amazing! Would definitely recommend going! Would love to go again!

shubham malik

Nice historical fort, takes you back to 19th century culture. Lots of cannon of that time, the king’s cutlery, chairs etc are on display. The place has a general admission fees of 15$, and offers free parking. Outside view is great to enjoy Lake Ontario views, wolf island visible from here, decent place to enjoy your evening. Best part of the fort is, in Kingston it is used for festivals and carnivals, like Pumpkin Inferno (pics at the end) and Light Borealis. That’s another reason to visit it in night.

Khusen Shukurov

A must go place in Kingston! Unforgettable experience!

Home Sparling

We spent a wonderful day and evening here with our boys (8 and 10). We loved the hilarity of school head mistress Chu! She has a wonderful sense of humor as a strict head mistress. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable as well. If possible, stay for the sunset ceremony. Well worth it.

Scott Guminy

Lots of great history here. The staff is wonderful. Be sure to watch the artillery demonstrations! There are several options for food as well. Plan to have lunch while you're here.

Frank Cross

Fun place for the family regardless of the season

Eric Mearow

Great place for a family adventure

Katy Brodski-Quigley

Educational and fun! Really helpful and friendly garrison.

Gazi Rashid

view from the fort is excellent. GPS will lead to a closed road. need to take 401 East then HWY 15 then Hwy2 to reach fort.

JuicyGaming Gamers

I liked it! My favorite part was when they show off the rifles and shoot them, heck they were loud!

Edward Clermont

Absolutely stunning place to visit. If you have never been to Kingston, this should be one of the top three places in the city to see. The summer dinners here is some the best ambiance you could ever wish for and they have the chefs to not just cook your dinner but make it art. Absolutely should visit at least once.

Sofia Briskin

I liked people who work here. They all are helpful and knowledgeable. They have very informative and interesting demonstrations.

Megan Cochrane

Great place to visit, lots of rooms with displays. The tour was mostly self-guided due to COVID-19 restrictions, but there were still staff members throughout who were more than happy to answer questions.

Tyler Buttle

Beautiful federal fort in the Kingston area. You've missed a great site if you haven't stopped in here.

Mayte Maragoto

Very interesting place. Lot of information and a few demonstrations of the live and culture of Fort Henry. Right now all following COVID measures.

Ridhima Arora

Its a great experience to begin with, the Kingston view from the fort is breathtaking. If you are interested to know about the history you can take the tour its free and is included in the admission ticket. We were right in time to watch the rifle show.

Carey Duchesne

What a great experience it was to visit. It's not an overly long visit but I recommend you wait and get the guided tour, it's the only way to tour the Fort. I highly recommend also visiting the additional rooms on the 2nd floor after the tour where their are some exceptional displays of old uniforms and equipment. A lot of the old historical information is displayed there too. Definitely worth a visit.

Dave Rideout

Went twice to the fort’s Halloween festivities, “Fort Fright”. First time was soon after the opening night and it was incredible - frightening and a perfect duration. Went again a few weeks later, still had a good time but lines were much longer and there were less actors along the course to scare you.

Jason Whelan

This was awersome to be back here as an adult and get to enjoy with my wife. This place brougt back so many memories as a child. I can say this did not dissapoint one bit. Enjoying a great meal along the outter wall overlooking the water with a slight breeze was the highligh of our day.

Buhboni

Loved it. We happened to be in town on a gloriously sunny day, despite many events being shut-down due to COVID, all staff worked tirelessly to make the experience enjoyable. Great team and solid attraction for history buffs!

Lisa

Very educational. The Fort is bigger than expected. The staff is super friendly.

Shawn Emmons

Pumpkin Inferno was spectacular... Hopefully an annual event.

Gil Moffatt

Very interesting and splendid view!

Grimaldo Ortiz

Not expensive at all and the staff was very attentive. A must visit to learn about Canadian history.

Philip McAlister

It was interesting, but very self directed. Didn't feel the $20 admission was worth while, but happy to support one of our national historic sites. Spent about an hour here and covered it all..

Anupam Nath

Even with the new restriction the fort was very enjoyable. All the staff were very helpful and very informative and the exhibits were very cool

Asya D.

Wonderful light show. Awesome for both kids and adults.

Keetharni Thusyanthan

It was a great experience learning about the Canadian history and checking how people lived in the era. There could have been more activities and such but considering COVID restrictions, it's understandable. $15 + taxes (website says tax is included but it's not) for entry fee but nit bad for two adults ($33.90). You can get bakery items, sweets, and there's a restaurant there as well.

Swati Saxena

Great place to visit

Konstantin Osokin

Great gistorical monument. A lot of activities for kids and adults. Tours in French and English. Great views. Beaver Tails!

Robert Faithfull

Great experience

Nathan Saccon

Fascinating historical building. I've been on both the regular tour, and the haunted walk tour. Both are very interesting an incorporate a bunch of historical facts. I enjoy this place as much now as I did when I was a kid.

Victoria Blouin

Very interesting and well kept historic site. No tours were available due to COVID, but the costumed guides were positioned along the self-tour route to chat with visitors. Friendly and impressively knowledgeable! It was worth taking the time to ask questions beyond the summaries written in the self-tour map.

Abdul Mannan Muhammad

Was a great experience

Prashant Bombe

We had an unplanned visit to the fort this summer. The landscape around the fort is pictursque. We visited the fort while coming back from 1000 island tour. Spent very good time exploring the fort and clicking photos. Worth visit once.

K Town Card Collector

This couldn't be anything but a 5 star review! An extremely historic and important structure in Canadian History. Always hosting amazing festivals and outdoor events. Good amount of parking for them aswell. Now that things are getting back to normal I'm hoping to see the inside of the Fort back to full activity! Lots of great little themed shops and preserved interiors to see! Not sure how they will price tours etc these days but if you're visiting Kingston it doesent matter, it's a must see spot!

Xza9

Loved it.

Eric Catraniuc

Not really interesting (at least for me) but the view you get when you’re at the top of the Fort is beautiful.

Abner King

Tickets are 13 yuan, and ticket sales will stop at 4 pm. Free parking.

Michael MacDonald

I have been to Old Fort Henry many times over the last 55 years or so. It never disappoints. Went again two days ago. The Guard were simply fantastic. Their drill precision evidenced what must be hours and hours of practice and commitment. Have some experience with drill, being retired RCMP. These young men and ladies are ten times better that we ever were!!. All the staff at the Fort were so friendly and helpful. So proud to see people from all over the world seeing and enjoying a living example of our history. Well done all staff at Fort Henry!

Mark Cairns

I haven't been here since I was a kid, but it was still fun and educational.

Teflon121

Didnt go inside but the grounds was amazing. Nice place, some shops inside first wall before you have to pay for tour. Restaurant in there too with a patio overlooking the st Lawrence. Great place!

Arjav's Little World Arjav Trinay

It's just amazing. The view from fort is wonderful

Todd Gallant

We go running here almost every night. Amazing sunsets.

Mehul Patel

Very good ceremony and firework display

PIX XX

Best view in Kingston.. but as a 100 year old fort you would expect it to be on a hill. There are shops and restaurants inside. Its pricey for the tour.. but if you have the time and like walking... youll enjoy it. Free parking.. bring comfortable footware.

Sherri McKane

Family enjoyed Pumpkin Inferno, great to have it local this year! Beavertails and hot cider were fantastic

Robert Hakim

It was unfortunately closed for the season. We enjoyed the outer scenery and the perimeter nevertheless.

Brian C

It’s a big EH! Rather small and the exhibits are dusty and old. The staff is like high school kids wearing the uniforms, some were faded badly. They did try and do re-enactments which was nice but need more training and practice. I wish I could help them with marching- people properly trained get annoyed with bad marching ! I can see my old di twisting off if he saw this. For what you pay I expected more than just staff marching around and only shooting cannons. It’s a nice one time see. But rather pricey. I think the acts need to be improved and polished up. Nice staff tho, just rather sloppy.

Dolly Vyas

Great place to know about history and culture.

Heidi Hanna

The view of the water was especially beautiful! Definitely take the guided tour the guides do an amazing job! This is a great stop all the kids loved it ages 6 to 16. Make this a for sure stop!

Michael Gilmore

Very cool fort and the staff are really knowledgeable!

David Diaz

Went for the pumpkin inferno and had a great family experience.

Ryan Moran

Cool place, a great historical experience with an incredible view of the city. Came here on the YGK Beer Fest day which was a great, seamless event complete with choice food trucks, awesome beer selection and musical line up. Good job, St. Lawrence Parks Commission.

Liisa Shafer

Incredible light and sound show. Very interesting and innovative idea for what to do on a cold winter evening. There are several interactive stations. You have to jump, or yell, or throw balls, or do some sort of activity to make the sound louder or the lights brighter, or to make it snow! You can participate in the interactive stations as much or as little as you want. However, I found that participating made it really fun. This is a good way to have an interesting time while keeping warm outside in the winter! Make sure you dress warmly. However, they do have several indoor warming stations along with propane and natural fires along the path that you walk for the activities. You can also purchase hot chocolate.

Kelly Hill

Loveeee this place! You get a guided tour from a "soldier" dressed in 1800s garb, who are impressive as they stay in character throughout. Also worth seeing the sunset ceremonies as it's very exciting to see the military maneuvers from that era. Also can buy fresh baked bread from the ovens of the fort to eat.

Angela Sargent

Fort freight 2020 hands up thumbs up raise the roof oh my goodness during a pandemic you guys rock keep up the amazing scary fun work play die kind of evening. Laura Kelland-May

A beautiful day and lovely experience. The tour guides are young and very knowledgeable. We often ask questions and to me, it's the best way to get information. They are a fountain of information and if you can get them "off script" their depth of knowledge of amazing

chirag patel

Fantastic place. Must visit and watch show

Shrutinder Kaur

Good view.

Maria Elena Gramolelli

Nigh 'Lumina borealis' was fantastic

出门在外的石头太郎

Interesting history and good views.

Sylwia Ewa Elsodany

Loved the place and all activities there. The fort contained lots of stuff, clothing, furniture from that time. We could see room for different soldiers depending on the position. Our daughter had a possibility to wash clothes on the scrub board, "fire" the cannon and play "old" games. At noon, they fired the cannon. We went there by trolley and stay there at least 3 hours. You can buy some stuff made by local people... You can go to explore by yourself or with guide if you want to know more details about the place or exhibition. Very interesting experience. Really recommend. Good to go with kids, they will love lots of activities there.

Evan Leibovitch

Nice place to come at dusk, sit on the grass to watch the sun set.

rakhin thankappan

Not worth the visit .. the fort has a more modern look

Kimberly Lacroix

A must visit for anyone to Kingston

kazumi makwana

Awesome fort. view from the fort is amazing. entry ticket is $13 plus tax per person. Due to covid little adjustments in sightseeing but thats ok in terms of what you get to see inside. Staff is friendly and helpful. Good at maintaining social distancing protocol.Mask mandatory for entry. There is restaurant and canteen inside the fort for public to use. But price is expensive and little vegetarian options available.

Lisa Berry

What an amazing show.

Truong Ngoc Vinh Le

Nice site for toursist

Dave Tse

Very educational and the programs run every hour, very convenient. Too bad No marching during convid.

Cale Vincent

Great place to take the family.Itis very educational. The Battery Bistro was fantastic. They serve a gluten free burger and salad. The little shops are full of fun stuff.

Meg Pidskalny

Would definitely recommend if you ever come to Kingston; amazing historic site with live demonstrations and performances from the drum line. Loved every minute of it!

Christopher Charlebois

I have always loved visiting this place! The reason for the 4 stars is because of my last visit. There was one staff member who was trying to be spooky (Halloween theme), yet funny, however he came off as extremely pushy, rude and not funny at all. If I could offer any advice it would be to read your audience and come up with more wit.

Sara Fleury

We went for Lumina Borealis. It was magical. The only thing is it's too short. So take your time if you go. Loved it!

dawn wood

Dish and shrimp were excellent, the taco not very good at all

N犇

Nice view!

Wendy Kennedy

Definitely worth checking out. Some adjustments made for Covid. Can only walk through in one direction but no big deal at all. Weapons demonstration was really interesting. Also a great place to bring a picnic lunch and eat right near the water!

Joel Myers

Fun and educational! The rifle demonstrated was great. The staff is very knowledgeable. Great time.

Silvio Gomes

Nice place to visit

Joe Murray

Fantastic light show! Staff were really great! Although I felt the finally this year was not as spectacular as last year. Maybe they had technical issues. But I won't let that stop me from giving it a 5 out of 5

Joey Tan

Very interesting place. We took a trip out here for the New Years and got to visit this place. You need to bring an extra layer for this because 1. It’s on top of a hill and 2. It’s an semi isolated areas within walls so it’s a bit breezy. Good experience, a lot of interactive activities, but seems to me like it’s a one time thing. Would go again if I have kids though..

Serina Corcoran

Lumina Borealis was awesome

David Warner Henderson

Fort Henry is a quick 3 hour adventure of walking around and learning how pre-Canada (British Empire) build, defended and maintained the defenses in and around Kingston during the War of 1812 (Against the rebels army of the Americans). Brought family and extended family to revisit this historic site and we all were all very pleased with its layout, history and performances from officers in the full uniform. Would highly recommend.

Brian Valpy

Great place to visited

Himesh Patel

Nice stop on the Montreal - Toronto Trip ! Read about the history of this monument to get more perspectives.

Anna

A must spot to enjoy the view on Kingston and the Saint Laurent river.

Sakthi Moorthy

The entrance fee is pricey but worth it! The staffs were very helpful. When we were there one of the staff was demonstrating shooting in one of the olden times war gun ????

Keerthi Chandra P

You can visit fort Henry and easily spend half a day just going through the tour and going through various activities. They have the best customer service (they stay in character but still smile for a selfie) must recommend this fort along with fort York . Get the tickets for both places and save. Definitely recommend, thank you to the team at fort Henry for the hospitality! ????

Jessica Rybka

Good place to take the family for something different

K M

I'm a big fan of military installations and Fort Henry is a great place to visit. The fort itself is situated on top of a hill which gives you fantastic views of Kingston downtown and Lake Ontario. Even though it was never attacked the historical staff had a ton of information to provide and were all very friendly. The tour is self-guided with a bunch of different presentations ongoing at different times on the hour. Bring a date, bring your family, bring your dog or bring your pet tarantula! Either way Fort Henry is worth your time!

Milca G. Sheney

Beautiful historic site to visit! I've been there twice now, iced during the day and once for the sunset ceremony. They are both worth every penny. A must when living or visiting Kingston.

John Belbeck

Spent 2.5 hours on site and found it very interesting. Our guide was very informative and also answered all questions knowledgeably. The Marching Bands was fabulous. The tour covered all areas of the fort and that lasted one hour, then we could cover off all areas more intensely. Interesting history though the Fort was never attacked. Highly recommend

Dan Fraser

Closed for season. No information found on that.

Lucía S

Very nice views even if it's closed, there are some spots by the lake (not suitable for swimming) but nic to hang around. It's open only during weekends and the parking lots are big.

Roberta Rubin

A perfect spot for watching the sunset and gorgeous grounds for walking; running or biking. The inside site is closed until Spring so I will have to wait for that visit.

kory beaulieu-blanchette

Great location to spend an hour or 2 with the family or even by yourself.

History able to touch feel and see!

Present use In the 1930s, under the leadership of Ronald L. Way, restorations took place as part of a government work program during the Great Depression. "Old Fort Henry" became a living museum with the introduction of the Fort Henry Guard, and was opened on August 1, 1938. Fort Henry is administered by Parks Canada and operated by the St. Lawrence Parks Commission. Uniformed military interpreters known as the Fort Henry Guard staff the fort and conduct demonstrations of British military life and tours for visitors. Self-guided tours are also available. Other activities and demonstrations include historical reenactments of drills and battle tactics, the Garrison Parade, the Victorian School Room, and the Muster Parade, where young visitors are dressed in period uniforms and taught to march by a qualified member of the Guard. A Sunset Ceremony is held every Wednesday in July and August, where a full program of historic drill, music and artillery is presented. During evenings year-round a tour company conducts tours of the fort that highlight the fort's supposedly haunted past. Fort Henry has been designated as a National Historic Site of Canada, and in 2007 was included in the designation of the Rideau Canal as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Long Boc

Good place to have lunch. Great city view and lake view from here.

N.Anissa K-V

Beautiful views of St. Lawrence. Talented , informative and friendly staff. Demos were amazing. Clean washrooms, good food...tried pretzels ...they make them on location in a traditional way. Fun and educational for all ages.

Life is not a dress rehearsal.

Beautiful site and excellent place to watch sunsets. Great place to walk.

Mariette George

We will return The grounds were very nice and the view beautiful Do to covid we could not your but we will go back

Missy G

Was a great time

Daryl Tremain

I love visiting Fort Henry, whether it's to walk around it and down to the water; or to visit the forecourt for a drink, a meal, a souvenir or the view; or to pay and tour the fort itself. I'm a Kingstonian and manage to head there several times a year for briefer or longer visits. It's a real treasure!

Amanda Sherwood

So many great event!

Genevieve Brunet

It was nice. It is interesting to have a glimpse into the past. The parking is ample and accessible. It is a lot of walking so parents of young children, this is a good place for a stroller. The bridge is really neat and the information from the guided tours makes the visit even more stimulating. Talk to the people in costumes. They are very knowledgeable and most love to answer questions you might have. There are several little shops. I recommend buying a loaf of the historical bread. It's pretty delicious. The view is really nice and the staff very friendly. They have accessible, non-gendered washrooms and a water fountain/bottle refill station. It was very easy to take my boys to the washroom without waiting for the family washroom to be free. Dogs are welcomed in the upper part of the fort. Please be a responsible pet parent and don't let your dog piddle on the middle of the parade square or on the wood. Also pick up after them so we can keep bringing the dogs in. There are seats on the sides but not a lot of shade. The restaurant has plenty of seating overlooking the river.

JENN W

went for the sunset ceremony and it was amazing! well worth it if you can make it out

Iffatur Ridwan

Very pretty, so much to learn. Enjoyed the evening.

Orra Sangkum

This place behind, good for having lunch and nice view with the lake , you will love it ????

Amanda O'Brien

My favourite place in Kingston

Anup Pednekar

Nice piece of history preserved in Kingston! Staff is friendly. Cannon fire is the highlight of the visit.

Lorie

Great place to spend some time enjoying the outdoors. The park is clean, centrally located and has loads of free parking. It has a kid's playground & small water park, lots of trees, grassed areas, nice paved paths that will take you from one end to the other, and then the is the stunning views of Lake Ontario! The only negative for me is that the public washrooms close in Oct and don't open again until Apr or May.

Allyson Raymond

Very interesting place to visit. Just knowing that there were so many men that waked the same ground do many years ago. The stores were very nice and affordable. The views from the fort was lovely.

Brenda B.

Can't wait until covid is done so places can open up again and have people in side. This site was huge.. just got to walk around it

Thuy Nguyen

Great big field to have a picnic and watch the sunset

Pierre-Paul Laplante

A must-see in Kingston! Great exhibits, loved the musket firing demonstration.

t

Cool place to go for tours and historic stuff is cool to see and read about

Ralf Winter

Very good interpreters of the history of the Fort and of its history during WW1 & WWII. I never new we (Canada) had 14 internment camps across the country. So much for my history lessons! However the fort itself is not aaw inspiring.

Haunting Visions

I forgot to take pics but its an alright view of the city but very touristy and the main features are locked behind a paywall.

Corey Simm

Amazing views

Jay Nasram

Been here quite a few times I like it a lot it's a good historical site, every time we go I notice something new. This time we went for the sunset ceremony and a ghost tour afterwards. The ceremony is a great show with cannons, mortar and muskets shooting. The drums are always enjoyable. The ghost tour was not the best one I've been on, but it was worth it just to wander around fort Henry empty at night. There are also special events/shows here quite often so keep an eye out, last winter a great interactive light show was here in winter I'm hoping it's back next season so I can bring friends who have not been, it was amazing.

Van sculpture

Wonderful place to visit

Raymond C

It is a must see if you are in Kingston. It exhibits a lot of history about this fort.

lauren milan

Awesome tour. Did it with our 2.5 month old girl and it was great. Would avoid the stroler as there is quite a large amount of stairs. We used our carrier and it worked great. At noon they fired the canon and our little one slept through it.

Sheryl Lavery

Great place to visit. Lots of in-character explanations. Great guided tours! Experience lived history. I am sure there is more to see here. Food, at the restaurant over-looking the water, was very good.

Jason Cramp

I found the cost (almost $80) to be high for two adults and two kids doing a self-guided tour. The grounds were definitely rich in history to say the least; however, perhaps a guided tour would be better. The shops were a little deceiving as they appear as though one might find interesting souvenirs, but instead seem to be leased out to arts/craft-type retailers. The sightlines of the city of Kingston were great though.

Peter Johnston

Wonderful show and history lessons

Caroline B.

I had fun visiting. The shows were educating and interesting, I enjoyed the artillery demonstration. Fun for adults and kids.

Jacqueline Jeffrey

Maps app is a wonderful thing????????????????????

Petula Thomas

This is the epitome of the word "breath taking". Go see for yourself and you will understand the feeling and enjoy the tranquility of the scenery and knowledge of Fort Henry

Jason Thomson

Awesome bit of history to check out and take in,, ya gotta get the pull apart cinnamon raisin bread they bake in the original ovens there,,, so delicious!!!

Edward Trejo

Beautiful and quick tourist site to visit. The top portion is free and the lower part is paid. Worth a stop over if you're in the area.

John Paul Handrigan

I visited here in the off season. Didn't get to take in any of the big events or tours. It's still nice to walk around. Lots of open green spaces for your kids to run free.

Christie Brien

Came back for nostalgia and to share the place with my daughter. Always nice to walk around, great view. Not 5 stars because it's so expensive to go inside the fort, and not much to see for the price. I know, maintenance is expensive, but the cost deterred us from going in, which is a shame.

Dave Enstrom

Very historic ... definitely worth a visit.

Shane Black

Easily worth the price of admission. The guided tour was really, REALLY, good. The (volunteer!) guides dress in period clothing and answered every question that the group threw at them without fail very quickly. It was obvious they knew their stuff and had ready answers to everything about colonial army life in the mid to late 1800s. We came in the fall so it was quieter than the summer schedule is... But also got more time with the guides and to explore without a crowd everywhere. Highly recommended if you're in Kingston.

Max Nicholls

It was fun, the demonstrations were super cool and the pretzels were tasty

Ada Kirkwood

Great time! The staff are dressed up and teach you all about the place while keeping people entertained and happy. Live riffles and cannon demonstrated which was so cool! Good for any age! They have everything from artifacts to bread made right there in the fort! I got some pictures from on the roof and even though it was raining when I went it was still something I'll never forget! A great experience!

Darlene Belanger

Always enjoy visiting Fort Henry, learn something new every time.

Dave Swinkels

Great piece of real Canadian history

Jason Moore

Came here for pumpkin inferno. The wife and I were impressed with the displays. Both for the artistry and ingenuity. The lack of organization and the shops within fort Henry were the drawback.

Nataliia Pasichnyk

Good historical place

Etienne Hodder

Great place to bring family and friends, although don’t plan to walk from downtown Kingston as it’s quite a walk! It’s free to walk a large portion but you have to pay for the core attractions inside (group rates!). I’d recommend you bring a hat and/or sunscreen. Overall a fun educational experience! The fort never saw action!

Raman Gill

Such a beautiful place ❤️

Ali Raza

The Fort is nice place to visit. The officers quarter tour however can become long and boring due to Covid restrictions and only one way traffic.

sloane rosen

A lovely location that hosts some fun events. They are very heavy on the rules (like not being around during a Thunder storm) , which I appreciate. The pumpkin inferno was a very fun time overall. A star was deducted as many of the lights weren't working sadly

Gil Strachan

FH is always a good place to visit. The Lumina Borealis light show this winter is fantastic!

Stefanie Lucas

Awesome experience for the whole family! Full of historical artifacts and information with some live demonstrations!

Medha Sharma

It is nice place to hang out. Beautiful view which can be seen from outside the fort as well. For $20+ , a little pricey.

John Cutler

This place was probably built by child labor

Sebastian Kluth

A visit of Kingston Fortifications National Historic Site is mandatory if you visit this gorgeous town. The visit is very informative if you're interested in Canadian history. The views of Wolfe Island and downtown Kingston are stunning. There aren't too many tourists around and you can fully enjoy the beautiful landscapes.

Mmm Taylor

Will definitely go back when it's open.

Kasia GT

wonderful place to watch the sunset and good for swimming

Laura François-Eugène

Was a great experience!

André Wolff

I went there after a long day on the road from Toronto to Quebec. It was a nice stop but I was quite surprised to see that the deck at the bottom at the fortress is for bar patrons only. I had to climb on the wall to take some pictures of the beautiful lake. There is a paid tour I didn't take so can't speak for. On a sunny day it offers great views of the city, river and lake.

613 Bassin

Very fun place to visit with beautiful views of the city. Interesting to learn about the forts history. Wednesday and Saturday nights is a fun time to go as they have fireworks.

Adam Copland

Hands down one of the best tourist attractions in Kingston. If you're a history or military buff, or want something fun for your kids, this place is a must. The amount of effort the staff put in to recreate 19th century British military is astounding. You can see how hard they work to make sure their drill and perfect, and their knowledge of the time period is very good as well. If you can, try and make it to their sunset ceremonies in July and August on wednesday evenings. Simply spectacular.

Chris Tennant

Always enjoy the shows and activities at the Fort.

Jessie S

Really neat place with awesome city views. Try to catch the sunset. We went for the Lumina Borealis event, which was really neat. It was very cold, but they had fire pits, warming rooms, and had warm snacks for sell.

Steve Glover (Papa Bear)

Went on the Haunted Walk with Richelle as the tour guide and it was a great experience .. started the tour as the sun was setting so it gave a really great ambience to the whole experience

Darrell Lafave

Have been coming here every other summer since I was a kid. The depth of the history presented here never ceases to impress me. Took the kids here for their first time and they're still talking about it, weeks later. A true gem that should be on everyone's "must visit" list.

Eric Milt

It was a nice experience. I would've like to see more artifacts, drawings and or more interaction with the soldiers that we're there. Still it's nice to have the chance to see this historic place

Elad Salomons

Old English Fort. Very nice place to visit and take the guided tour. Great for children

MamaBear.2020

PumpkInferno is such a spectacular display! The whole family absolutely loved it.❤ The fort is a perfect spot for this!

Patrick H

Nice place to go on a weekend afternoon. There are programs and you can buy oven baked cakes as well.

Yaacov Artom

It's a live museum. Taking the job very seriously. Kids and adults learned a lot and enjoyed.

Diana Raad

Great way to learn about military history. You can do this tour in about an hour and the seightseen it's beautiful. If you're into photography it is a good place to take some pictures.

Wesam Khalil P.Eng.

An excellent and wonderful history.

rahul tulsian

Nice walk back in history.. Love that the folks on duty wearing the suit are very professional and play the part well.. Must visit if you are in or around Kingston.

krupesh faldu

Nice place to visit if you have whole day to spend. They have multiple things going throughout the day. There was art gallery which was good. Nice place to take pictures :)

Elaine Greaves - Holloway

Been a favourite since childhood and school trips, bringing family from overseas and now several times as an adult... They've done a decent job of self guided tours during Covid. Thank you for keeping our history alive to share through the ages.

Mona Bhadauria

Entry to the fort was closed because of covid (and rightly so) but we were able to make a nice trip thanks to the big park and St Lawrence River. The fort has an antique rustic look and you can feel you're amidst history, looking at the tanks poking out. There are plates engraved with historical facts and a nice little assembly area at the entrance. Would definitely love to visit once it's open again for visitors. If not, go with your family or partner or pets and make a picnic-day out of it ???? ~StaySafe

Coraline Bretonneau

We did the ghost walk at Fort Henry and it was amazing! I totally recommend to anyone who like ghosty stories! ❤

Lalit Kumar

Nice place

Joe Jansen

Pumpkin Inferno was great. Beavertails to complete the night....

Nick Doyle MTL

A must see landmark near lake Ontario located in the middle of a great town.

Matt Sully

Great family experience. Tour guide was phenomenal and even on a hot day the cool breeze from the water carries through the fort.

Pauline Hennequart

Nice place but they sold us tickets saying we would have one hour to visit and in the end it was closing 40 minutes later... Should not sell tickets like that... We could not see everything.

Ruiying Zhong

Very interesting. Loved to see the historical exhibits.

Monashkay_ Diary

Small place but definitely a must visit historic site in Kingston. Clean and nice view from the top.

Marcus H!!

Fort Henry is very scenic and it over looks all of Kingston. My problem is that when I went there at 1 pm on Saturday which is the most busy times for attractions, it was closed.

Samantha Marsh

Went for the Fort Henry Ghost Tour, amazing staff, terrifying stories, overall terrfic atmosphere! Well worth the drive from Toronto. I would come back to do the day tour. Highly recommend.

OneNineTwo 7

Never a dull moment. Plus the sunsets are awesome, so there's that.

Adam Pemberton

Great attraction. Especially in the winter for Lumina Borealis.

Michael Mason

Take the tour, I learned so much and don’t worry about the occasional bat in the underground tunnels. Great place.

Dinu G

We loved the little presentations. Canon fire, musket fire... The rooms back in the days, walk and see inside but protected by glass. We had fun.

Rama Krishna Daripalli

We had a really good time @ Fort Henry.. good to know the Fort's History, there was a guided tour and fun activities on Sunday when we visited..

Wendy D

Pretty cool. There are some shows when visiting here. Awesome!

Tom Uzi

At first I was not happy about paying $20 per person to get in. After seeing the soldiers perform there marching skills that all changed. These young soldiers put a lot of time into that craft of marching a playing some old tunes. I was really impressed and happy that I came. There are some shops that sell all sorts of tourist trap items. The structure is amazing. Parking is free and a two minute walk. Handicap access is limited in this place, there is no getting on the ramparts from a wheelchair.

Radhika Kulkarni

The fort ceremony is held on each Wednesday evening of summer. It is a great experience to witness the real guns and canons fire followed by fantastic fireworks. And also the fort has a museum which is open from 9-5 every day.

PJ C

This is a review of the Haunted Walk Tour. My guide knew the scrip/history of the fort and the events that took place. It's all about the narrative, and she delivered that very well. The fort was clean and well-kept. Before you start the tour, it's better to hit the restroom, as there are no restroom breaks during the tour.

Marie Perry

Went to Pumpkin Inferno. A little difficult in a wheelchair through gravel patches but it was well worth it. Amazing carvings and helpful staff.

Smile Anand

Great place. The cannon fire was loud and nice. People were dressed up so nice . Open place and so much things to know about.

Genevieve Nolet

Beautiful historic site! The sunset ceremonies are extremely impressive (do go if you ever have the chance to do so!), as is the annual U.S Marine Corps ceremony. Great selection of shops and the baked goods are to die for!!!

Divij Sharma

Not loving crowded downtown so much? Drive all the way up to Fort Henry, a wonderful spot to watch Kingston at glance. Best timing - Dusk with light clouds. Still not convinced? drive past Fort Henry parking lot and checkout Kingston city's skyline.

Cat Viney

I went for fright night the weekend before Halloween, it was a lot of fun in the haunted house. Definitely had me spooked while I was walking through it and very well put together. I also got the total scare package and went on a guided tour with a wonder young girl who's name I forget unfortunately but she was short, round framed glasses and dirty blonde hair. Very informative and well spoken. I would like to go back and visit the Fort another time in the daytime.

HarrY

Wonderful place that shows a part of history.

Darren DeRidder

Fort Henry is definitely worth a visit but it has gotten somewhat lackluster. There are signs of ongoing construction, fencing and heavy equipment on site that ruins the historical illusion and makes the perimeter appear to be ramshackle. The military "parade" was a noble attempt to entertain by a skeleton crew of youngsters, but ultimately it wasn't very convincing. The most interesting part was the special events and administration building next to the fort, which has an interesting modern architectural style, but isn't open to the public. It looks like a lot of the funding went into the new office building for the bigwig managers instead of to the fort itself. You can stroll around the grounds outside the fort and see some nice views.

Cass D

The coolest place ever!

Stephen Stewart

Excellent tour and exceptionally good value for money. Tour guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. Exhibits were fascinating and well worth the visit.

Mike Dobson

Fun spot for the whole family. I must see in the city.

Noel Hopkins

Nice to visit

Mike Patchett

A must do if you are visiting Kingston.

Nancy Leconte

A little bit of history

Ezay Hayhay

Cool place never made it in time for the full exploration of it but part If it was open to the public including the restaurant batterybistro Apparently they hold a haunted walk here as well seems interesting probably worth checking out

Rajat Kumar Bawa

Awesome place to check out. It has some real role playing soldiers that showcase nice knowledge about the historical monument with nice flute playing.

Jazzifur McE

Our guide was great, came back at night for the Sunset Ceremony, it was awesome. Actors were great, and the fifes and drums and reenactment was wonderful. Really loud though so take headphones if you have sensitive ears. One of the new recruits was a service dog , there with a Queens U student. She helped the ???? with all the commands. ???? was a real hit with the crowd. We went back today to purchase an item we didn't get on Wednesday. Today we got to meet their mascot David the ????.

Vic Megahy

I went for the Halloween Fort Fright event this past weekend. My friends and I loved it! It was really fun, the maze to get into the centre square was really cool. I also liked that they try to space out the patrons entering so you're not being herded through in massive groups, which wrecks it. The only thing that was mediocre was the 10 min audiotape haunted walk, definitely skippable. Definitely going back next year!

Bushra Asghar

we attended light show. it was fun

Quazi Haque

One of the best places in Kingston to see a mesmerizing sunset

Mohammed Saleem

Went with my kids, lots of fun!

I dont like

It was really good but I lost my phone here but this place was nice they seen it and keep it I am happy

Andrew Raymond

A great visit for the light show

Siddhartha Palanki

We visited Fort Henry over a weekend when we were visiting Kingston, unfortunately since it was a weekend there was a huge crowd and the tour that we took had one tour guide shouting himself hoarse for more than 75 people. They should probably pace or restrict group sizes as the officer rooms on display also do not have enough space for a lot of members. Apart from the above the visit gave us knowledge on the history of the Fort and the conditions during its construction. It was an insightful tour.

craig maidens

Great place to go. A little difficult with younger children as there are only a few interpreters so the kids really do not get the idea of a village. But from what I see they enjoyed it. Go to the bakery and but fresh bread.

John MacKenzie

Great destination! I came here with my family for the sunset ceremony and was literally and figuratively blown away :). Only wish there were more water fountains in the Fort. If you get the normal admission, you'll be able to go for free to Upper Canada Village (check restrictions).

Shannon Maric

Amazing experience. Our 4 yr old loved all the cannons, the cells for when you're bad, and all the recreated period rooms inside. Excellent social distancing procedures. Loads of hand sanitizer offered where you come in contact with a railing or an enclosed space. During our visit we saw the rifle and canon demonstration. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. After the tour we enjoyed walking the grounds and seeing the views of the Lake. Great picnic spots if you plan ahead. Amazing summer/fall activity even during COVID restrictions!

Shae Evoy

Gorgeous view!!

Zubedah Jama

A great visit and quite informative. The staff were knowledgeable and answered our questions.

nathan duffy

Didn't come here for anything more than the sledding hill and it was beyond fantastic!

Robert O'Connell

The site is kept wonderfully, and the military attachments make the tours very immersive and interesting. Very nice of them to accept the rigors of time travel.

adored carrot

A very cool place

Isaiah Farber

Amazing! Definitely worth the money and worth a visit. Had a great time there!

Mayukh Bagchi

Beautiful place to catch a view of Kingston ⭐

Richard Young

Awesome experience. Lots of history.

Shu Qing W

very informative tour. bring me back in time. will come back when my daughter is older.

Raheem Merali

What a great historical spot to visit. Perfect view and amazing scenery. Great spot for group lunches dinners and or celebrations.

Jan Horak

Beautiful winter show. Needed more food options during the show, hot chocolate was not the best.

Glads Moshi

I love it:)

David Wolder

Interesting place, but don't wait until the last hour to arrive like we did. It takes more time than this to see the Fort. My only complaint is there is no sidewalk up to the Fort from the main road which is an odd omission, especially considering it's only 30 min walk from downtown..

Chris Fuerth

Lots to see and do over a couple of hours. Try to time it for the big parade/canon fire if you can only pop in.

J Domenic Gallo

Drive by... nice view of Wolfe Island.

Randy Warren

Took my dog for a long walk around, no traffic no problems

david charles

Take the guided tour , it's well worth it .

Feryal Sobhani

Amazing , it was good to get familiar with 19th century 's soldiers life style.

R G

Beautiful historic location and very nice people. I liked the arrangement and presentation. Very nice maintained. It was entertaining and educational and we all loved it! Gift shops were great too and people give you good vibes. I am not sure I will go there every single time I visit Kingston, but I recommend it to first timers.

Rishin Naik

Very nice historical place. Shows are very nice and informative. Staff are very friendly and explain history nicely and answer to questions very politely. Thank you.

S. Z.

WOW!!!!! Before our tour started we enjoyed a fantastic lunch at the Battery Bistro. We had a knowledgeable tour guide, it was such an interesting view. The parade and drills were totally worth watching. Gift shops were lovely.

Boney M J

One of the best attractions in Kingston - Scenic views, a medium difficulty trail, lakeside and Fort views. You wouldn't want to miss this on your trip to Kingston.

Kalah Productions

The view of the city from up here is so beautiful at night

Stephanie Chipman

We had an amazing day here..the kids loved how the soldiers involved them in different activities. It was been excellent learning experience for both the Old and the Young. They also have their on restaurant located right on the Fort, prices are moderate and the quality is excellent. The view from the Fort is incredible

Dante Cerron

Great place to spend time with family and learn some Canadian history. I like the way the fort guards put in scene the military activities of the time

sirin tuteja

Great view of city and river from the top

Monte Hardy

A fort with a host of history.

Arathi Paramsothy

Fantastic experience! Took the walking tour and the guide was very knowledgable and friendly. Was able to catch the firearms demo as well that was hosted by another great guide. A worthwhile stop while in Kingston!

yen C

Staff were great in detailing the historical life at the fort and explaining the various instruments, weapons, and canyons at the demonstrations. Due to COVID we weren't allowed into some of the historical spaces, but it had great views of Kingston and the kids learned a lot and enjoyed the visit.

Jerry Howell

Nice way to learn of our proud, Canadian history

Catherine Fairbairn

Loved the displays. Too many people allowed at once as the crowd did not respect social distancing and waiting their turn.

Arsh Brar

Nice historic place.

Braedan Dale

Cool, went for the ghost walk during the night. Guide seemed very knowledgeable of the fort and was able to tell lots of stories. mosquitoes were absolutely horrid, would recommend bathing in bug repellent before going.

Do your best Everyday

Awesome place. Loved it

JL M

Amazing display of light, music and interactive enjoyment that keeps you in awe and discovery from beginning to end. The Lumina Borealis event and thoughtful layout of warming huts, charging hut for devices and petiodic hot apple cider/cocoa makes for comfort even in the outdoor setting. The event is accessible and the passageways broad and winding so as to feel virtually alone in your discovery. Definitely recommend going, or even revisiting, as each experience is unique!!

Asif Mahmud

Beautiful peaceful place to hangout with friends and family. Excellent lakeside view is a bonus with the historic site. You need to buy tickets to get inside the museum.

Bram Blenk

Awesome historic site. We hadn't been there for at least 15 years and it was just as great as I remembered. The site is beautifully restored to it's 1867 state, complete with a period guard detachment that performs rifle and artilery drill demonstrations. We had a great tour, led by a very knowledgable young lady dressed as an artillery gunner. They now have a very good restaurant, run by an old friend of ours, that serves excellent food either inside one of hte fort's stone rooms, or outside on a patio that looks out over Kingston and Lake Ontario. There are several shops and canteens selling local arts and crafts and food items produced in the fort's bakery.

Scott Linderleaf

I love the fort and the view outside the fort is amazing too.

Gayve Kazak

So much fun going back to Fort Henry. Such a good day to spend with family ... make sure you go in the fort if you haven't been

Glen Wolgemuth

Wedding reception at the Great Hall was wonderful. Catering was absolutely first class, both the food and the servers.

Tania R

The fort was closed but the view was wonderful. It has its charm and history that was interesting. There is free parking so even if you're going for a simple walk. I recommend.

B Jones

Must see. Great for all ages.

David Tremblay

Really nice place to visit.

Amanda S

What a cool place! Excellent demonstrations (gun and canon). Clean and well organized! We had a great few hours there.

Christine Wong

love coming here!

vintage dolls 101

Nice place to learn some history

Gerard Nash (The Photo Mender)

20 dollar admission was surprising. Other similar sites are free. Not a lot to see but the guided tour and period dress of the staff adds to the experience. Nice views as well.

ReshmaAlphons Dsouza

Amazing place....must visit if you love historic places!! $76 ticket price for a family of 4. (Aug 2021)

Jaime K

Went to Fort Fright with the kids! Awesome experience! Lots of laughs & screams!! ????

Kimberley Carpenter

My nephew's wedding. Although the day started a bit rainy, the wedding was beautiful. I wasn't able to stay for the full meal, but I heard it was amazing. Lovely setting. Only missing the sun.

Marcel B

Great place to visit. The military parade was very well executed. Beautiful point of view.

D'Lia Müller

It was pretty interesting. I'm not too into military things but the general history was cool. I loved the goats, and the artisan stores onsite were great.

Adam Marshall

It's nice but its kind of empty

FFTW Development

Really enjoyed it. It's a self guided tour but there are staff there dressed in original uniforms that soldiers and wives of soldiers would wear. They allow you to take photos and give information on what there is to see. Some great views from the second floor. You can also see in the actual rooms around the compound and with covid, it's a group by group policy. Not all people were following but just be prepared with your mask. Great views!!

Zoran Penner

Decent place. Not incredible, kinda lame after an hour. One time is enough but do recommend

Jolly Roger

A historic site for people to know the military history of the city. Super interesting and informative if you're into North America history of wars. Lower Fort doesn't require a admission to walk in. The view from there is nice day in the river and lake.

Klaus Grotke

Absolutely terrible. No body hardly there, gift shops poorly equipped. Not worth it in this ccvid year

Umama Zobayer

The history, the beauty, the view and everything!!

Helen Conlon

We saw,Pumkinferno. Well organized and very entertaining.

WingK Lo

Good for picnic with family on a sunny day. Excellent vintage point over Kingston. Cannon show at noon. Very nice maintained.

Always a great time going to this gem of history

BENLOVE Y

It is very interesting historic site of old Canada.

Alayne Yeash

The staff was very friendly and our guide was extremely knowledgeable. We learned a lot about military life.

Jon

Everything was good. However, ticket too expensive, $17 each for age 5 and up. $60 for family of 3 for just walking around and look at stuff.

Joelle Day

Pumpkin inferno very nice but very basic maybe will add to displays in future

Melissa Caddick

Really enjoyed Pumpkin Inferno

James Brown

Bistro best nachos Battery burger to diefor

Joan Flores

Nice view

Meaghan Vlacholias

We had such an amazing experience here! We were not sure what to expect as it was a last minute decision. The staff are so talented - totally in character. The place is huge. There is lots to do and see. We went through the museum of the building which was very interesting. Then we were able to watch some reenactments including the canons and guns. I highly recommend checking this out! They have a new restaurant as well that is right on the water. We did not get to eat there as we had to leave early. They also have little shops to check out!

Nick Mawson

Friendly staff and informative tour, definitely much better when you hook a tour compared to stumbling around trying to figure stuff out yourself

Sean Ifill

Excellent show!

Kerrin Simon

Wow! So much history. Definitely worthwhile for everyone. Well done exhibits and summaries.

Mike Bruun

Another amazing show at the Fort!

The military exercises are good. Some rooms are a bit empty. Would like more historical stories associated with the rooms posted in the rooms. If you do not take a tour make sure when you go into the upper fort to go to the left as there is more on display in those rooms then to your right. Some interesting information about the use of the fort is on display.

Aaron O'brien

Really enjoyed exploring the Fort. Really cool going down into the below ground tunnels. Next time I will take a guided tour. But still had fun. Very beautiful view.

Debby Martin

We love this place. The history, the buildings, the staff.. all amazing!! Grandkids loved it!!

Nick Kogut

Fort Henry is always an excellent place to visit they put on live show fireworks... the history is unbelievable a must stop if you're in Kingston Canada

Chris Kidney

Very interesting place to visit. Covid keeps the number down inside too! Nice to have 1 group per room at a time so you can see everything. Good job!

Jillian G

We enjoyed our visit to the fort, spending around two hours to see all of the sites & learn a bit of history. You will need your mask when you go to the indoor parts. We were most impressed with the staff - they're incredibly helpful & passionate about providing history to visitors.

Bart Miller

Phenomenal historic landmark! Great guides and very educational.

starz ba

There was a good place to park at the top, where you can see the landscape below.

rafer johnson

Nice view,Interesting place

Cory St. Croix

An amazing historical site! Loved seeing how the fort worked. Also the staff are all very friendly and helpful. They have found a good balance of staying in character but also being approachable. Due to covid it isn't fully open but what is open is great. Still recommend checking this out even during the pandemic.

Kelly McCloskey

Pretty cool flyover. I remember it being a little bit more exciting. For 15 a person you'd think thered be a little more...well more.

Brennan McGavock

Pumpkinferno was great! So many cool things to see.

Qinglin Meng

Nice place to visit if you are interested in history and military.

Sanjay In Kingston

The tour is great and the view is amazing ????

Leslie Sweet

We love visiting Fort Henry. It is a beautiful structure, chalk full of history with wonderful and helpful staff. Summer programs for students and kids. Their Sunset Ceremonies are definitely worth seeing, especially when the American Cadets are in town or the Kingston Symphony accompanies the performance.

Gary Poole

Great place to visit

Sa Gr

It was a great visit. It was not busy. There were people through out the Park to answer questions and with information to share. Enjoyed the Beavertails at the end. I really enjoyed the visit to Fort Henry.

Monarch Vyas

Great historical spot to visit

John Shannon

Amazing views easy to get to. Easy parking Close to downtown Kingston. Reasonable cost.

Anne Verburg

Went for pumpkinferno it was awesome

Bren Hancock

What a great place!

julie steele

It's fun and educational. They have a sunset ceremony that's a must see with a fireworks ending.

Kamna

Its a nice fort with a lot of history. Due to COVID they had demonstrations and socially distant tours. Must visit if you are in town.

Ian Wilkinson

A must see spectacular fortress loaded with history. Excellently choreographed marching from actors dressed in historically accurate outfits.

Catherine Bell

Attended a micro-wedding at Fort Henry. Beautiful spot for the ceremony! Because of COVID, the reception was at the Battery Bistro and the generous portions were delicious!

Anne Goodrow

Quinn was excellent and made the tour very interesting! I highly recommend booking the tour once the sun sets

Rae Vandenberg

I enjoyed my day here. The view of Kingston is lovely. The guided tour offered a bit of history. If you go on Wednesday during the day, for $5 more you can gain admittance to the night performance with theatre and fireworks. Fort Henry wants to celebrate protecting the land for the British Empire, but they don't want to tick off all the American tourists by being anti-American. Thus, the play has no focus. Going on and on about the music driving the soldiers is also a bit much. Good visuals, however. Lots of muskets and cannons going off. My mother was able to go almost everywhere in a borrowed wheel chair. Just to add, we could not simply sit at the open-air restaurant at 3:30 overlooking the bay because the restaurant was going to open in the evening for a party. Give me a break! At 3:30? THAT was off putting. We had paid for the view with our tickets too!

Lea Fraser

Thus is Canadian classic to be visited.

Donovan Selbye

We were dressed warm and enjoyed a 1.5hour walk through the display. There was a lot of innovative things that they did. All of our kids 3-11 loved doing this and all 8 adults. It would have been nice to have some place to go to the bathroom throughout the walk, instead of having to walk all the way back to the entrance. The centre square display was so much fun, and the light screen had the kids laughing for quite sometime. The winter wizard was really cool to talk with.

Javier Teo

Located a few kilometres away from heart of Kingston town's touristy heart. When you first arrive, you will get a very nice hilltop view of town and Lake Ontario. Don't let the looks of the Fort fool you; doesn't seem very big but my wife and I ended up spending more than 2 hours here. 1 hour for the guided tour, and slightly more than another hour just visiting all the rooms and looking at the exhibits on display. There are a few cafes/restaurants and souvenir shops too. Didn't try the food so no comment on that.

Kris N

Was a very cool place to visit. Expected to stay for about an hour or two but we were there for about 4 hours. No regrets at all. Watched demonstrations where cannons and rifles were being fired and heard about the role women played while living and working in the fort. Was interesting to hear about how integral music and drumming were to marching and the mental health of the soldiers. When we passed people who were in period garb they enquired how our visit was going and if they could answer any questions. We explored all of the rooms and enjoyed seeing places like the bakery, classroom and the soldiers quarters. We appreciated the time spent to provide information and create displays that share stories of indigenous people and those that lived in internment camps. It is important to make sure that all voices are heard when sharing a complex and intricate part of history. Was a great way to spend our day and we recommend it to anyone interested in Canadian history, the military or anyone in the area. Definitely a must see.

Doug Duff

Such a fun place to visit with kids. Hope to get back soon!

Roberto Moschella

Cool place we were there at night for the Halloween stuff .it was really well done

Toon Leetoon

Once of life experiences!!. Definitely recommend if you are visiting Kingston!!

James Burnett

A must see when visiting the Kingston area. Whether your local or not, the shows they put on are amazing. Also have special events for all the seasons. Must check their website for more details.

Janelle Bowes

Great family spot!

Jennifer Lindsey

Amazing! Historically significant and authentically haunted! Very cool, fun for kids. Halloween, sunset ceremonies, period dining hall, haunted tours, re-enactments. Great view of city. A must-do for visitors and residents!

Jeffrey Skitch

Went to the YGK Craft Beer festival. Plenty of local breweries there to try something out and different types for all lovers. It was set up on the hill looking over the water so great view with good music playing. Touch crowded in the beer tents to maneuver around and see what they had though.

Google User

Great fun for the family, the tour is very informative, has explosions, and is just the right amount of time. Free parking, admission that gives you free access to Upper Canada Village and a beach. The shops and restaurants are great, clean, and have very welcoming staff.

heather dunne

Wonderful experience. Reenactments great. Guides very lively, knowledgeable and enjoyable.

Abhinav Bansal

Superb place to visit in Kingston. Very scenic all around providing a great view of the city and the waterfront. Its way more interesting than it sounds. Loved the cinnamon pie from the bakery.

Chantal Dunn

A must visit.

Philippe Macias

Well worth the visit. Parcs Canada does à wonderful job with many activities and events at the Fort. The fort itself is well maintained and a great walk through history. Plan to spend at least 3hrs there and look up the schedule to ensure you are there for the events that interest you.

Sandra Williams

Very cool, always wanted to visit since seeing it on Creepy Canada. The haunted house they host is very well done!

Sara Quigley

Amazing experience and a wonderful guide to walk us through. A definite must do!

Nathalie Guilbeault

Went for a tour last night and our tour guide Connor was amazing. He went into alot of details concerning the history of Old Fort Henry and he made sure everyone followed the safety rules....wearing our masks, keeping our distance etc...Would definitely go back and hope Connor is our guide again.

Matthew Behr

Wonderful scenic fort.

Lorena Martini

Enjoyed the tour even if it was self guided due to covid. Interesting information.

Ayangleima Laishram

It was a nice time I had here, it was nice to know how soldiers were living in that time, how there lives were. It was a nice show that we watch cannon and guns firing . The entrance fee was 20$ CAD.

Trisha Glabb

I always learn something new each time I visit

Amanda May

Best views of Kingston from the Fort. With Covid19 many interactive exhibit rooms are for viewing only now. But still so much to experienced and learned at this site

Lubna Irtijal

Nice place to visit. It's not like a Big fort but still pretty good place considering we do not huge have historical buildings in Canada. It has rooms, dresses, furniture and weapons of that era on display. There is employes(girls & boys) of the fort dressed in uniforms of that era they also give information about the history of the fort. They are very friendly and informative, and happy to pose for camera. There is also stunning lake view from the Fort.

Kristine Cunha

We enjoyed the information and self tour

guiusepe vinzenzo

Beautiful place to visit

Angela StPierre

Was here for their Halloween and Christmas themed events... So impressive really enjoyed. Going in summer to see the Fort your.

Anthony Baranyi

Wonderful historic site. Great reenactments. Friendly and helpful staff. Spectacular views, particularly at night.

destry reynolds

Relaxing andca great place to walk my dog

Deitra Kimpton

Knowledgeable, enthusiastic staff. Well run with all the right practices in place for visitor safety. Great food and service at the Beavertail cafe too! Great day out.

Khushnaz K

Wonderful view. We saw the military tattoo here and loved the whole experience.

YLK LK

Pros: Nice venue inside for wedding reception and had a nice grass area outside for the wedding ceremony. Service was very good and staff was nice/attentive. I would rate this place as 9/10 for service and venue. Cons: Decor and table settings was basic. It was a bit crowded inside and not much room to dance or move around as the hall inside is quiet small. The wedding I went in May had around 15-20 tables total. The food had small portions and we felt there was not enough food at the wedding we went to. The salad was very good, steak/salmon was well cooked but it got ruined by the bad sauce that they used. It made the salmon/steak taste really weird. The dessert was ok...Overall I would give this place 6 to 7 out of 10 for food. I heard the alcohol packages here are really pricey but the food package is cheap at only $40-60/plate. So best to bring in your own alcohol if you can. The wedding we went to had cash bar which kinda sucks as you had to pay $6 per drinks (pricey). Better to bring your own wine & beer so the guests can drink more and don't have to pay since they are already coming to your wedding and bringing gifts.

timmy tuck

Solid historical landmark in Kingston, the first capital of Canada. Good to learn about the history of the area. The staff are a little on the screamy side...actual military doesn't scream that much.

david hamel

Beautiful place and good eat in bistro

vidyut banerjee

We live in Kingston so Fort Henry is not new to us bus this was the first time I saw the sunset ceremony. It was amazing. The marching bands, the storytelling and the war reenactment was great.

Cheyenne Rocchetti

Pumpkininerfo

Diane Tyler

Went to the pumpkin Ferro? Was well done and I love how they used the fort.

Charlie Stage

It is a great place for taking you back to a time when the countries of Canada and the United States did not get along so well. Do not miss the Wednesday night Sunset Ceremony during summer. If the USMC Silent Drill Team and 8th and I, USMC Band are coming it should be DO NOT MISS on your list. Children will really like it.

Rob Black

Interesting history but previously it was worth it just to see the Guard, not so now. Uniforms and equipment seriously in need of care and or replacement.

Charles P

Cool place to when you're in the area. Friendly staff who guide you to the different aspects of the historical site. The cannon and rifle/musket firing demonstration was the coolest and loudest part. The staff also do a very brief but informative presentation to give you a feel of what is was like back in the day when British soldiers were here.

Cristian Madularu

Wonderful fort. Take a guided tour.

Jeramie Iacobucci

PumpkInferno was great!

Heming Bai

Worth a visit if you haven't been to a place like this. If you've seen old castles and forts before, this one may be underwhelming. Entrance fee is pretty steep. The daily garrison parade is pretty neat. Staff was friendly and informative.

W M

Spent time there recently at the Pumpkin Inferno festival over halloween. Was very well done. Included the opportunity to visit the parade square with warming fires, "country couches" and many cut-out set pieces for spooky pictures.

Mélanie Lacelle

The kids had fun watchinv the reenactements. My kids are older, but the canon and riffles being fired scared a lot of the younger ones.

Jason Hazelton

If you find yourself in Kingston with a few hours to spare, definitely worth the visit. The guides and demonstrators are well trained and very professional.

Serena C

We went shortly after their reopening from the province-wide lockdown. Location was easy to find and there are ample parking spaces. The way leading up to the front gate is very picturesque. There weren't many people there since it was a weekday after the re-opening so we were able to get a front seat to the demonstrations. The self-guided tours let you walk around and you can get a great view of the area. Really enjoyed being able to see how it was during the 19th century fort. The public washrooms were fully upgraded and meticulously kept. The staff were friendly and very engaging. We took a walk outside the walls of the fort and I would highly recommend to do that on a nice day.

Andrea Kocourkova

Wonderful

Armaan Ladha

Walked up here and totally worth the climb for the gorgeous views and sunset. Very peaceful and quiet in the evening.

Naven Alagarsamy

The only interesting thing on our visit there was the rifle demonstration. They could possibly reduce the entry fee until all activities are open inside the fort.

Carlos De Sousa

Liked what they did for social distancing one way through the buildings one group per room. Not as many demos as i past but thats expected. Check schedule they only do canon, Rifles, music, demos once a day.

Derekhe1988

Very interesting historical site for learning about Canada's heritage.

Heshna Khadoo

It was extremely beautiful winter wonderland

Huxley Anjilvel

A great historical site filled with informed and courteous staff. Fun place for a daytime visit and offers interesting events year round. The sunset ceremonies in the summer time are a great experience and in the winter they've been doing light show based off of the northern lights that incorporates motion capture and other interactive tools to engage visitors. A must visit in Kingston for sure.

Wendy LeDrew

We visited Fort Henry because we thought our children would enjoy it. I would not recommend visiting during the pandemic as it is quite a subdued atmosphere and the interpreters/ employees are asked to enforce covid protocol. Unfortunately, this enforcement was done in a manner that was bordering on rude at times. We felt that the admission price was much too high for what was not an enjoyable experience for us. The baked goods were very good though and the kids enjoyed the canon demonstration. Just not worth the price of admission currently.

M&M Neophytou

It's amazing to see some of history's most important pieces here. See the actual uniforms, canons, and military history. A perfect outing for families.

Yvan Courcelles

Amazing place need to visit

Thomas Burke

Great place great reenactment. Well worth going for sure 2 hours 1hour for the reenactment 1hour for looking around

Adam Gyimesi

Special events were great, enchanted forest

Allanah

Fun Fort Fright experience that will keep you on your toes! The different sections are very intriguing and scary enough, lots of actors which are keeping the mystery of what's around the corner alive! We loved it! Plan to spend two hours, more if you intend to do some activities like the coffin ride, tarot reading, go to the beer garden, etc. Free parking. Buy your ticket at the entrance, no wait around 7h30pm on a Friday night. Lots of activities (skeeball, putting, ring toss, etc). 25$/person. Would so again. Make up is really well done, a lot of details with decoration.

Trii Ildze

Should have been kept more authentic - without the asphalt and modern floors. If there is a cafe, it should have been made in the old soldier's cantine and offer unique experience eating there. etc.

Judy Thompson

Being born and raised in Kingston, I have been to Old Fort Henry more times than I can count and it always blows me away. This past weekend we attended again as the US Marine Corp was there with the Marine Band and Precision Drill Team. These are PROFESSIONAL soldiers and I would put our Guard up against them any day of the week when it comes to precision, professionalism and OUR guard are University Students. Once again, so impressed as were our friends who experienced it for the first time! So proud!

Kapersky

A well preserved and interesting site, rich with history and activities for the family.

Rex Catubig

The place is well maintained and preserve. A good place to reconnect from the past. Very educational and the staffs are friendly and well informed.

Steven C

Beautiful views. A nice visit even if you don't go into the fort.

Andre Potvin

very nice to c..

Mitja Mehrens

Awesome - Fort Fright is a 'MustDo' in October

Mirza Bacchus-Misir

Not anywhere as nice I remember in the past, just 2.5Hrs of Military Bands doing formations. And for me personally, I am no great fan of bagpipes. The fireworks do end the time nicely. And the Fort itself is definitely worth time to explore. But the Sunset Ceremony has not changed for the better in my personal opinion.

Jhonatan Mendizabal

Just great to spend time with the family

Scott Rushton

History comes alive and learn about Canada in a world class experience.

d3adeye5

It was great! Visited an event called "Lumina Borealis" had great time with friends and family.

Tim Dunn

Fun ghost walk, interesting stories. Great work with physical distancing.

Ian Percy

Website has a contact link. No response after 3 days. Website says only advance tickets allowed. Had to wait while 3 walkup families were processed by the single person working the booth. The fort itself is fine but clearly the website is not maintained

Jenn Cheng

Lots of history and very well layed out for Covid regulations.

suzanne ackerman

A really entertaining night! The host was amazing and the stories were well researched. We went there in late October so it was dark, making the experience all the more creepy. We were inside and our host was telling us about the Corp. room and the chair. As we were leaving the room, the large metal door slammed right in our face. These doors are really heavy. They would not have faked this as we could have been hurt if we had been walking a little faster. Our host said that was only the second time it happened to him, and he wasn’t too happy to have to do another tour after ours.

Joseph Abreu

Love Fort Henry... I always look forward to an opportunity to attend an event there or do a tour and they have Beaver Tails

Zilhurain Jaigirdar

Presentation by the student volunteers is very enjoying. Some professionals some professionals also make the demonstration that's fantastic. Anyone and everyone who can manage time should visit this fort.

Rick Pavlopoulos

We had a really good time, our guide was very knowledgeable and explained the complete history of Fort Henry. I really had no idea how well built it was. Our guide explained how it was strategically built to fight off any attack from all sides. If you like history....a must see. Learned something new and very interesting.

thomas lemens

Its a decent historical sight to visit, alot of the places are closed

Linda Kreager

The exhibits are very informative and the views from the ramparts are stunning. Kingston is a lovely city with a fascinating history. Highly recommend a visit!

Faizan Nasir

The fort is a great place to spend an afternoon or an evening. The views of the city and the lake itself are breath taking. The staff is friendly and dressed in the clothes of the period. There's a live cannon and a rifle firing that are fun to watch. There are many rooms to check out how the soldiers lived when the fort was active. There's free parking and places to eat, including a patio with lake view. It takes about 2hrs to see the full place.

Hamant C

Fort is well preserved, and very clean. The characters and the rifle/ cannon demonstrations were great. Overall, a very good experience and well worth the admission fee.

Dronesational by Monique Byrne

Pumkinferno was amazing, great for the whole family, and safely set up for covid.

Piano Man

The light show was fantastic. Family friendly and enjoyable for adult groups also.

adnan abueid

Extremely great view

Rob Linn

Last visit was just a quick walk around. But when I went to fort fright last year I had a blast and will be going again this year.

catherine z

Great experience. The staffs were nice and informative.

E Lala

Really nice place to visit with your family! They have a nice tour, they make food according to the time for guests to try and buy. There’s a really cool soldier marching and band display. Also if you are a teacher you get in for free and if not then your admission is also good for the upper Canada village which is a about an hour away I think and super cool

Labrador Kiko

To enter to this place, there is a fee. $13 per head. I find it is expensive not much to see.more for tourists and small children. K

Marek Mulyk

Good piece of history

John Walker

A decent historical place with much to explore such as showcase of old guns, prisons, barracks and it also has a cannon show at evenings.

Eric Naud

Visiting Fort Henry is an excellent day trip from Ottawa, bilingual presentations, friendly and knowledgeable staff, several boutiques including fresh baked goods (cinnamon buns were awesome!). The guided tour was led by Private Watts who was friendly, knowledgeable and played his role to a tee. He made the tour interesting even for my six year old. Don't miss the cannon shot at noon!

Rathish Sekhar

Great shows and the staff was fantastic

Giuliano Golin

History of fort Henry is so interesting

Jonathan Stock

Took the kids there. They loved it! I enjoyed it myself.

Alan Young

Haunted tour, fonal one of the night. Quite creepy and had a great guide named"Tiz". Highly recommended. We did the Haunted walk from the Prince George Hotel to several downtown sites the night before. Guide was "Enya"??? She did a fantastic job,was very friendly, and we conversed alot while we were walking the tour. Also highly recommended

Living Freedom

The interactive display of Lumina Borealis is AMAZING!! Go through at your own pace with hot cocoa/cider, warming and charging huts available along the way. The vast turns let you feel virtually alone in discovery, keep you in awe of what's to come, and the music is enchantingly matched to each section...accessible for all to enjoy regardless of age or ability. Visit again and again; you're sure to see something new! DO NOT MISS THIS!!

Trent Dykes

I went to the tour during the day. And the Wednesday night sunset show. It is a must see. Get a K Pass and see all the great sites of Kingston!

Martin Brunet

I went with my wife and two daughters. It was slightly raining but this didn't dampened the fun. The period actors were on point and cheerful. We all had a great and really enjoyed learning about the fort. It was really cool to explore the open fort, passages, rooms, and nooks. The fresh pretzel and pull apart bread from the bakery was delicious too. It's definitely worth the time and money to visit the fort.

Miss Smith

Wow what an awesome spot. Just to be in a place with so much history. Its amazing & we must reflect; were all human & no matter what we must all just get along ! To many lives lost lets change our future. Great spot to take the family for quality time.

Andre “Dredre” Parks

Always love going to Fort Henry. Amazing sites and great for knoledge based fort.

Natalia Pereira
