You will be able to see all the feddbacks of people who bought the products of Winnipeg Art Gallery (Museum) in the territory close to Kildonan (Canada).
Currently this firm receives a score of 4.5 stars out of 5 and that rating was based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average of ratings that it reaches is nearly the best one, and it's based on a high number of opinions, so we can say that the rating is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to leave their score when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to place feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Museum corresponds to the category of Art museum.
A beautiful place to learn, relax and catch fun with family.
It was my first time at an Art Gallery the people were helpful and engaging. There were people available to converse about the many controversial works of Art to help in the full experience for someone new to the game.
Nice feild
Love the WAG especially the new addition.
We (Alli Mae Events) love planning weddings with Doren and the team at the Winnipeg Art Gallery and would always recommend the venue to our clients. There are plenty of room options to host a wide range of events, great service and customizable menus. We are able to create beautiful environments in this local gem of a space. Can't wait for our next wedding with the WAG in a few weeks!
Amazing times.there
We loved the permanent and temporary exhibits. Great gift shop.
Great gallery, I spent a couple of hours looking at the exhibits. I think I will change my review to 5-stars once they have finished the addition, as right now part of the gallery is under construction.
The touring Picasso exhibit was great. The Inuit Art exhibit is always excellent.
I like exhibitions in the Winnipeg Art Gallery!
Excellent visit with my girl
Nice place with nice paints
I love all the art ppl contribute its talent
Quiet, clean, modern and often times has a new showcase to view and learn about for a low entry price.
Interesting place
Nice architecture, presentation, and layout. 1st and 2nd floor weren't impressive art to me but 3rd floor was. It was really quiet and a relaxing atmosphere when I went there.
(Translated) I really like the exhibition inside! The CRAFTED market held a while ago is even more cost-effective and easy to visit???? I really like the atmosphere here ❤ (Original) 很喜歡裡面的展覽!前陣子辦的CRAFTED市集更是划算又好逛????非常喜歡這裡的氛圍❤
A quite place to enjoy art and your alone time
A great venue always. Appreciated Kent Monkman's work.
Beautiful
Very nice atmosphere, can't wait till Inuit 2020
(Translated) Several interesting works (Original) Plusieurs œuvres intéressantes
The WAG often advertises their featured exhibit which changes annually, but one of the great gems that's often overlooked is there regular gallery featuring works of art by many local, national, and international artists that have been donated to the Gallery over the years. It was in the regular gallery I discovered my love for paintings by Lawren Harris. Another unique part of WAG is the ability to rent Paintings. I hope to try it out some time.
Do you like art?! If so, this is the place for you!!
Great at gallery as well as a wonderful center for events
Great tour guidance, highly recommend!
Seen the Picasso exhibit. He was just a doodler.
The staff and tour guides are lovely
i enjoyed the art. best gift shop around.
Went with my kids to an empty gallery and couldn’t believe security followed us and asked us to it fix our masks when my six year old lowered a bit. Plus watched water fountains like high security. Not a pleasant place. My 11 year wasn’t …
Best Art Gallery in Winnipeg. usually bring great international exhibitions during the summer.
Meh!
love it!
(Translated) The entrance fee is not worth it. When I went in July, it was an exhibition of Impressionist painters, but it was fun because there were various other exhibitions! (Original) 입장료가 아깝지 않아요 제가 7월에 갔을때는 인상파 화가들 전시였는데 이외에도 다양한 전시들이 있어서 재밌었어요!
This is a great art gallery. Lots to see. It is unfortunate that they do not have later hours.
We are so lucky to have such a world class gallery in our city.
I love coming to the Winnipeg Art Gallery, it's always a pleasure to see and revisit the permanent collection and exhibitions. The new exhibitions always astound me, and I love how they all tie together.
Beautiful works of art
H well its A. Gallery. IN WINNIPEG
Great place to visit in Winnipeg, lots of interesting displays. Would be recommended
Interesting, clean, well lit
Loved the rooftop gallery and Picasso exhibit :)
An elegantly sprawling, yet straight-forward art centre wields an authentic, and truly powerful voice. Trying it's best to shine a light to the plight of all; both past and present, while simultaneously carving out it, and our future, through the scope of a true appreciation for art, its artist, and the creativity and determination that ties them all together.
I had a very pleasant time here viewing Picasso. Quiet and cool, I will definitely come back!
It's a decently large art gallery, and the collection itself is quite big so the displays change frequently. They host a lot of interesting events too. There's a restaurant on the top floor which can be booked for special occasions as can the main hall on the first.
Love the exhibits
We visit the art gallery every few years to see what's on display. If you're an art nerd (I mean that with respect, like if art is really your thing) I'm sure you'd enjoy it. If you're like me, and like art, but not if you've got to read the card beside something in order to understand why it should be interesting or appealing, then it may not knock your socks off. We saw the 80s display, which was ok, but didn't overly move me. Personally, I'd love to see some more installation art and/or kinetic art.
It is a beautiful place, but the security guards were a little extra vigilante while i was there with my family. I felt like i was being monitored more than i can enjoy the gallery. I was there with 2 elderly people 2 adults and 2 children.
Always great exhibits
Wonderful to roam and admire the art displayed at any given time. Really appreciate free nights and other access to the arts for lower income and poverty affected persons.
Wonderful events of all types all year long. Extremely reasonable membership price. Nothing but good things to say.
The newly renovated galleries are quite nice lots of Inuit content !
A definite Winnipeg must see.
Always top notch and interesting!
Culture wpg
Must visit it. Very astonishing collection.
I've visited on a few occasions and the galleries are always interesting and informative. The last time I visited I went to see the Winnipeg Music Festival, and the auditorium was very nice, sound was great, however the chairs were incredibly squeaky. They are spinning chairs, and I had to consciously be careful not to move while the performers were singing so that the chair's horrible squeaking wouldn't distract anyone. Other than that, would've been 5 stars.
Good way to spend an hour or 2 :)
The miniature Inuit sculptures and Kent Monkman exhibits are amazing and moving. The miniatures project surprising intensity, precisely because of their size. The Monkman show is on the other end of the scale with some giant paintings of settler - First Nations intersection.
A Picasso exhibit guided by the CEO and Curator of the WAG... What a great time!
Why closed Monday ? You think us uncultured folk don't need culture on Mondays ?
Winnipeg Art Gallery has changed for the best.
Amazing building, wonder art and exhibits every time I go. I love coming here when I can!
Beautifully set up :)
Went for Nuit Blanche and had an amazing time. The 80's exhibit was so much fun. The best part was the theater with the music videos.
Evenings on the rooftop are wonderful. The food was great too.
Excellent show on impressionists. Go!
Good for first dates
(Translated) Excellent exposure (Original) Excelente exposición
Great art classes and teachers.
I was very impressed from the Dali Up Close but also I get a good view of the other artists very interesting
Always Great no matter what show they put on. Go check them out. All the best Cheers!
The only gallery that doesn't have the "gallery " smell. I love nuit blanche, can't wait to go again!
We went to the qaumajug Inuit Art exhibit. It was a very pleasant visit. The exhibits had good explanations and were educational. I recommend the WAG to anyone who wants something interesting to do. Also a very nice coffee shop.
Lots to look at inside, and the place has amazingly polite staff.
Very sophisticated and artsy. Loved it!
Building was under construction when I visited, but I enjoyed the exhibit.
Went when it was free to visit, the art exhibition on the third floor was great.
i had the pleasure of visiting recently. there was always no one there. all employees were very friendly. although some might criticize the modern architecture, i enjoy it's solidity. don't miss norval morrisseau's androgeny. it is spectacular and powerful. they have an extensive inuit art collection.
Always an interesting exhibit happening
Great art gallery!
Wonderful place for the wife and I to visit, the Inuit exhibit was great.
The gentleman at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful. The art galleries were fantastic. The Picasso exhibit had fun interactive displays and I loved his quotes that were on the walls everywhere!
Attended a work function. Was ni e to see the auditorium again, after so many years. Will need to go back to see the art.
Beautiful art! Nice people working here. Gave us a great taste of Winnipeg.
Just saw the impressionist exhibition which runs all summer (2018) and it was nothing short of magnificent!
Great place
Always fantastic collection of indigenous art, and various traveling and curated shows. Also an excellent venue with lots of professional support. WAG is class Al the way.
We visited for an amazing special exhibit of Greek art. The permanent collection is not large but has a good representation of classic art, modern, and Inuit.
Very nice place to visit they had Meissner porcelain from Germany
Always enjoy the exhibits at the WAG.
I went there with higher expectations. The place is small, and it only shows unknown artists. The only thing big there is the gift shop.
Interesting
They always have great exhibits!
The displays that were there were very good, but there were a couple display rooms closed to prepare future exhibits. The sculptures on the rooftop were very interesting. Unfortunately there is no secure coatroom area so we had to lug our coats with us. The new Inuit art center will be amazing when it opens in a couple years. Free entry for members.
I cannot believe it took me so long to visit the Winnipeg Art Gallery. I was totally blown away by the various exhibits and articles featured. I will absolutely be back. I loved the gift shop too and have every intention of returning.
Nothing much in the way of art here unless you're interested in Indian handicrafts.
Yawn
Emotional and thought provoking display
Cool place, lots of interesting displays. Would recommend
My friends who just celebrated their 25th anniversary were married at the WAG so I love that weddings are still being held here. After living in other cities and coming home, I also really appreciate the unique architecture that is so distinctly "Winnipeg". The gallery itself is lovely for showcasing art. It has a nice media area to display cinematic presentations (I remember watching the Cannes commercial festivals here). There are amazing jazz concerts to check out too.
One of the best place for tourist to get a great time. Highly recommend
Nice place
Love it
A beautiful building.
I am yet to see a more diversified classification of artistic works
Must visit attraction in Winnipeg.
Always a pleasure
Give yourself about 2 hours to do the full tour. Great seasonal exhibits. A very broad and rich regular gallery collection. Large section on the group of 7 and Emily Carr canadian landscapes. Largest Inuit art collection.
Most of the exhibits were closed due to construction.
Very nice!
If you are looking to have a corporate or social event, this is it. My nephew had his wedding in the roof top garden and the reception for about 150 guests at the Eckhardt Hall.
Went to the new Inuit art wing and really enjoyed our time. Brought extended family, five kids from 3-8 and they especially enjoyed the more immersive exhibits.
Good art. Not great for kids.
The exhibit was spectacular, and there was free food to boot! A great experience.
Our son has art class every week end and he's enjoying it so. The staff are MAGNIFICENT and extremely helpful.
I love the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Along with the changing exhibits, they have an auditorium where they host interesting things like classic movies, Tibetan monks, and singer songwriter performances to name just a few events. Their website has the latest exhibits and programming.
Go with a lot of time and eager to learn tons of stuff. The galleries upstairs are the best!!!!
Noce local museum with focus on Inuit art. But candidly, the rest of the exhibits were pretty pedestrian. 1 hr visit.
Lot to explore
Wide variety of art, regular changes. Easy access, #18 bus drops you off on the other side of the Bay so it's a short walk to get there.
Art
Good thing it was a free Sunday
There's lots of great art in the heart of the city. The staff is friendly. Compared to many galleries the entry fee is quite low. My only complaint is that I want to see more of their Inuit art collection.
Nice place
This is a fantastic place. It makes me proud to have grown up in Winnipeg!
I was there to the opening of the exhibition of the summer with the impressionists. The building is impressive and the opening ceremony was fun to attend. Yet I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed. There are only quite few paintings and just a handful of sculptures on display. What is really disturbing to me is the way that most of the paintings have an unlightened part because the spots are partly directed at the upper frame of the paintings which cast a shadow over the paintings. This is something that these masterpieces really do not deserve. I loved the inuit art. As there is so much more to be seen I definetely will be back for another visit.
The newly renovated galleries are quite nice lots of Inuit content !
Largest collection of Inuit art in North America, soon to be housed in a new addition to the main building. Presently exhibiting the Picasso in Canada show.
Amazing
"Summer with the impressionists" at WAG is absolutely amazing!!!! You certainly will be delighted with the wonderful pieces of art of this exhibition! It is brilliant! I ???? it!
Great gallery. Lots to see. Nice gift shop and they bring in exhibits so there is always something to see
Lots of interesting art in the current "Vision Exchange" exhibit.
The WAG was wonderful as always! They recently added free code-locked lockers for your personal items while you're in the museum. The recent addition of qaumajuq has added even more value to the experience.
Beautiful Art gallery
Really nice
Loved it ????
The Winnipeg Art Gallery is a public art gallery founded in 1912. It is Canada's oldest civic gallery and the 6th largest in Canada. The WAG as it's popularly known is located in downtown Winnipeg, two blocks from Manitoba's Provincial Legislature. There is a lot of engagement here with people talking with strangers and a lot of knowledge is exchanged among people.
Not as much Monet as I had hoped. Excellent experience.
Beautiful! Such amazing art and is a wonderful place for concerts too !
The Inuit art collection is amazing.
Excellent collection of art!! Excellent place for some beautiful photography. Cost of entry a little too high but can be justified comapred to what the gallary has to offer. Should visit if you are visiting winnipeg!!
Lovely exhibits
A nice building with nice artwork
Cool
The current exhibit of Kent Monkmans work needs to be experienced by all Canadians.
Fantastic Art gallery. Its also a historic place too.
The exhibit and ambiance were lovely, and the service was quick and friendly
Great building. Always have good shows
It is a nice and quiet Gallery. Unfortunately the 3rd floor was closed so I couldn't see the rest of it. Staff are friendly :)
(Translated) Very beautiful place dedicated to the culture of the Inuit (Original) Très beau lieu dédié à la culture des Inuits
Thoughtfully designed exhibits fill this amazingly unique building. Friendly and helpful staff are on hand to answer questions and provide insight on the art.
I don't know why this museum surprised me so much. It was a complete delight to visit here. I was amazed at the breadth of their collection.
A nice way to educate yourself and enjoy art!????
Small but interesting
Absolutely humbled and amazed by the First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and other indigenous peoples art. The carvings, artistry, use of materials, colours, textures, all so unique and thought provoking.
Went with my kids to an empty gallery and couldn’t believe security followed us and asked us to it fix our masks when my six year old lowered a bit. Plus watched water fountains like high security. Not a pleasant place. My 11 year wasn’t inspired she felt like there was more security watching us then people visiting. The new display was without representation.

Impressionist show was great!
Spectacular space, great experience!
Currently in the process of adding a new exhibit but what was there was excellent. Great overall experience.
A great gathering place amd the family events are wonderful. Love that art is made so accessible here!
Always has awesome exhibits. Cheap admission. Worth the trip. Has a modern exterior. The buhler centre across the street has a stellas if youre hungry.
Great museum, great experience and an awesome place to visit.
The exterior of the Winnipeg Art Gallery is an art piece in itself. There are always new exhibits to see, special events, and fabulous tours. We suggest checking out the Friday Night Curator tours, where WAG curators share their unique perspectives. Make sure to view incredible works by local Manitoban and Canadian artists while you're there!
Still lovely although under construction.
Wide varieties of art
Expensive tickets
Nice architecture, interesting to see their collection of Inuit art. Worth a 2 or 3 hour visit depending on the expositions available.
Great event at a great venue. Thank you and Congrats Ivana and Richard ❤❤❤
Great event at a great venue. Thank you and Congrats Ivana and Richard ❤❤❤
Well worth a visit.
Always a great institution to see exhibits by great artists. A must visit for anyone visiting Winnipeg
It was free Sunday so we decided to visit with the family. On level 2 there are some nice soap stone carvings and a few other pieces..... besides that there is very little else to see. Lots of unused space and the main display on the 3rd floor had some inappropriate content. Not much to see here and happy the price was free.
Went for Jazz performance of a tribute to Ray Charles. Fabulous
Awesome
Fantastic place
Never been ????♂️
It's a very good place to go if you like culture & arts, I like that they have so much indigenous art
Loved the place, so beautiful and artistic
They bring in excellent touring exhibitions; it's a different gallery every visit.
Loved the building. Would have loved it if more of the exhibits were open though.
Stunning art gallery that specializes in First Nations, Métis, and Inuit art work and artifacts. The permanent collection of European & Canadian collections of art is breathtaking. The vault, chock full of thousands of soap stone carvings, …
Great travelling exhibitions, and a solid gallery to start with.
A cultural jewel in the heart of Winnipeg!
Qaumajuq an important addition to the public exhibition space. And beautiful to boot.
Favourite place to spend a date on a rainy day. When it's not raining that rooftop it pretty wicked.
It's OK.. Not much to see but it's nice to have some art in the city as Winnipeg ;)
Good place to be there.
Exhibition is not so big but inuit skulptures got me impressed
Excellent gallery with a focus on contemporary works plus an extensive collection and emphasis on Inuit and Aboriginal art. Small, manageable size for a single visit.
Most exhibits could warrant the label "interesting". Helpful staff eager to engage with art discussion. I was there with a school tour and the hands on printmaking was a blast.
New exhibitions often, wonderful building, affordable cover charge.
We always enjoy that there is something new to see here.
Rooftop concerts are worthy
This gallery has gotten better over the years and you can feel the love and care placed into the exhibits.
Checked it out while it was being renovated so hopefully I can see it when the renovation is complete. Fair size gallery with some spectacular exhibits.
Someone stealed us and they dont care
Such a great Art gallery! Glad we have this gem in Winnipeg!
Went there for impressionism exhibition in the afternoon on Sunday. We happened to be at same time as their free guided tour so joined it. Learned a lot about history, artists and the pieces. They also had aboriginal and contemporary female artists pieces. Enjoyed it a lot.
Culture available at a reasonable price in a simple understated venue
I went there for school field trip and i loved it!!
Historically relevant and culturally conservative..
Really beautiful Modernist building with an exceptional collection of Inuit and Indigeous Art. You can rent various rooms here too if you want to host an event or a wedding. The events people are really nice and helpful. Parking downtown sucks so I just used the covered parkade at the Hudson's Bay garage.
Very informative and beautiful works of art
A true gem of Winnipeg. Always great curation, exciting exhibitions. A must-visit, and frequently.
The exhibits were top notch, the facility is wonderful. Staff in the gift shop were also very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful.
Great experience, quiet, ethereal and not pricey to enjoy artwork
Nice collection of arts
Love this gallery
The Inuit art exhibition is amazing.
Appreciate the ability to order online and pick up. Order was ready the next day. Street parking right in front made it easy. Friendly staff. Great selection of indigenous art/gifts.
Amazing exhibitions - love being in a space where creativity is celebrated
The WAG opened my eyes with impressive Native/ Inuit/ Cree carvings that all tell a story.
It is a beautiful place to visit but it needs more work on the displayed arts .
Amazing venue for your event as well!
I always love the WAG. Informative and inspiring exhibits.
Taking an art class, nice instructor, fun class.
Such a lovely place with such beautiful art galleries
Love going and exploring what is there, especially when they have a show like Picasso. Look forward to the Igloo Inuit gallary opening.
Such amazing art pieces, and now they are having weekends with free admission which is awesome
Great!
Recommended for family with school aged kids.
The best building in Winnipeg. Outstanding architecture by Gustavo da Roza. Nice exhibitions.
It's our art gallery not much can be said
Winnipeg is very fortunate to have a beautiful gallery.
(Translated) The exhibits are few and the quality is average. I'm really sorry for the building. (Original) 展品少,质量一般,真对不起盖的这栋楼。
Impressive exhibits throughout the year. Be sure to pick up the audio guides if available. Great way to learn about the art in an immersive way.
Nearly half of it was under construction on the inside but other than that it was pretty nice.
Beautiful Art Gallery with an exceptional collection of Inuit artwork
It is good place for people who like art, but it doesn't have own parking lot
Its bus accessible, it has a lot displayed within it
Incredible collection of Indigenous, and in particular, Inuit art.
Saw new exhibit found the vault too intensive. Needed more space. Otherwise an interesting exhibit.
Beautiful gallery featuring pieces from its own collection as well showcasing exhibits from afar. Recently attended the Insurgence/Resurgence show....amazing show featuring Indigenous Art. Watch for art from up and coming Manitoba artist Dee Barsy.
Great wedding!
Love the new space
Not a big museum but worth the visit to check good art! Nice curatorial overall.
Great weekend activity! Not so crowded so it isnt tiring
Great fine arts
Went to visit here with my daughter and mother. Even though I was with them, because I appeared a little more grungy than them and have longer hair, the admissions staff singled me out and asked me to approach the desk specifically to ask me if I planned on paying for admission. I had just spent the first 20 minutes with my family in the gift shop looking at and pricing out some of the fantastic art for sale without any issues. Of the three of us visiting, I'm the artistic one who appreciates art more than anyone else and feel that the way the staff dealt with me was less than stellar. Many local artists have quirky appearances and have a casual attire to suit their personalities. Of all places that I should be able to feel most comfortable, this visit was anything but. Didn't waste money on this particular excursion and we left with a bad taste in our mouths.
Cool building, with some great galleries and exhibits. Wish the rooftop statue garden was better appointed though...
Wow! What a cool place. I strongly encourage you to read the creative statements that are provided in a booklet for some exhibits. It's a beautiful museum with rich, powerful art, and there is so much information there to help visitors understand the importance of the art. That's a hard thing for museums to get right, but Wag does it well!
New exhibit very interesting
Awesome!!!
Great
(Translated) Excellent facilities and good service. (Original) Excelentes instalaciones y buena atención.
Great day at the WAG
Visited the Winnipeg Art Gallery after about 5 years. They currently have a vast collection of Inuit art, lots of learning, looking, and some really neat immersive art. It only took us an hour and a half to view all of the collections. We also learned that Manitoba has a rebate program going on right now & we got half our admission back, so that was a nice surprise. Parking has always been the downfall of visiting, as downtown parking is some of the worst. The WAG is definitely a must-visit for tourists, and those who haven't stopped in for awhile.
very nice experience in here! for more photos around winnipeg, you can come to my Instagram @josen.foto
Great permanent galleries and an impressive collection of Nunavut art. They always have interesting travelling exhibits as well, and the gift shop is a great place to do your Christmas shopping!
Great collection of native and modern art. Will be enlarged soon, probably even better then.
Art and Soul has been one of my favorite events in the city, I'm hoping they re-open the Restaurant or a coffee shop on the top floor, At this moment the rooftop patio is being underutilized.
Beautiful Inuit art space! Rich in culture. Don't forget to check out the roof garden too.
Amazing place, don’t miss out on the roof top restaurant and sculpture garden.
Could use more permanent pieces
Stupid why is there a block and it's worth like a million dollars super confused
Nice variety of styles. Helpful staff. Looking forward to 2020 opening of Inuit gallery.
Very good I clap go yeah
The gallery has an excellent permanent collection and a really interesting array of rotating exhibits come through. Really looking forward to seeing the Inuit collection displayed furthur!
(Translated) I enjoyed the interesting participation activities and friendly guidance. (Original) 재미있는 참여활동과 친절한 안내가 좋았어요.
Usually a good time!
The Inuit exhibit is beautiful and moving.
Highly recommended for Inuit Art exhibit. Well curated & informative. Allows visitor to learn something that is truly part of Canadian contemporary history & take a look back at what land we live on.
Soemone needs to tell people at admissions to ask for ID and not just assume a visitor is a senior and give them a senior discount they didn't request. It's very disrespectful.
Nice building. Gift shop has some nice stuff.
Always a great place to visit, looking forward to the expansion and seeing more indigenous art.
Awesome!!!
I love this place.
The new Inuit art centre is beautiful and well designed. Must see!
Great new gallery! The newly expanded space was used well. I did expect a bit more in the way of different forms of lighting and music throughout, but one has to separate out a museum experience from an art gallery experience. So there was more in the way of modern Inuit art along with the traditional.
Always beautiful displays and new exciting art to look at.
I love it for the most part! I wish there was more to see in terms of art.
Iconic building near the Legislative Building and downtown. Recently, there has been an amazing rotating selection of interesting collections. Permanent Aboriginal collection and an Inuit Art centre is currently being built. I wish they had a better floor level cafe.
Interesting exhibit and the other galleries had been changed quite a bit since my last visit as well.

They change expositions every 2 months so it is a good idea to visit it again
Art was over all good not a very famous gallery so not too much more to expect
The art Gallery is a very big building, and I was at 2 events Saturday. And the building itself is actually amazing, cutting edge construction companies were brought in to work alongside Government workers.
Quite most of the time, greatly informative, new exhibitions take place now and then.
The Impressionists
Winnipeg Art Gallery is an amazing place to visit. It represents different shades of Winnipeg culture. They also arrange different cultural activities to make the place quite vivid! Cool experience!
The Best and the most amazing art in Winnipeg, MB
Such a great place! Can getvlost in there with all the rooms
We saw the Summer with the Impressionists display. It was well curated and very worthwhile. Parking is a nightmare for those with disabilities. It's a joke. The sidewalk and entry outside is very rough by design. Supposed to make it more interesting but it's a serious fall hazard for seniors and those who live with mobility challenges. It was the same inside. The Manitoba Tyndall stone used on the floor wasn't sealed on installation and, as a result, the stone was broken and uneven and had loose material in it. Another serious fall hazard. Washrooms, although marked accessible, weren't. The hallway going in had two very tight turns. Washroom signage was not adequate. International blue and white symbols weren't used for accessibility. No power door at the entrance. We have been to several galleries in Canada, the USA, and internationall. The Winnipeg Art Gallery is sadly inadequate and out of date with regard to accessibility. It needs a serious refit.
Super nice, lots of beautiful paintings and sculptures.
Very singularly focused. Not enough variety.
Weddings at the Winnipeg Art Gallery are exquisite! I've had the pleasure of designing the florals for several weddings here, and each one has felt special and unique. The spaces are all stylish and easily adaptable to different styles. The staff is excellent, and are very clear in their instructions and their service. The event coordinators are thoughtful and easy to work with!

Meh!
When I went in to the gallery I was expecting a small gallery with not much to offer, only to be pleasantly surprised at the most amazing collection of art that rivals any other city. The paintings and sculptures are magnificent and absolutely beautiful. Do yourself a favor and go here first when in the city.
Had a great time with family.
Love the WAG! Just so much was under construction this time.
Love the WAG! Just so much was under construction this time.
I like my membership for it.
Beautiful gallery. I loved the open vault in the lobby as well as the stories surrounding the art. The fight for clean water continues. The latest exhibition brings awareness to the issue from Indigenous communities all over the world.
A great gallery for its size. Excellent buildings both new and old.
Love this place
A first for Winnipeg, Best of British Tour put on by Triumph corporate and Headingley Sports great evening with food and drinks and the Triumph lineup for 2020.????
Went with my daughter to see a couple of exhibits. A great afternoon.
Stellar art gallery. Friendly staff.
Great Art gallery
Fun visit. Always love visiting art museums.
Beautiful facility. Worth checking out if you have an hour or two.
Loved the enormous Picasso exhibit. Had a lovely Picasso inspired dinner in The Storm Restaurant.
The best collection of art in the city. A solid permanent collection but it really shines with some of the excellent temporary special exhibits over the last few years. Whoever is bringing them in and/or organizing is really hitting the mark with them and punching well above its traditional weight.
Art rules
Lovely place to visit to feed your aesthetic needs, each show curated at the gallery has been unique and engaging.
It was awesome! I love the Inuit sculptures in the biggest glass vault, I love the 1920's photos from Winnipeg, and the oil canvas painting of what Winnipeg looked like in the 1880's. I love it! I love it so much!
Lovely.
Very nice exhibition of Inuit art. There was an unfortunate incident involving another visitor while we were there but staff handled it well.
Enjoyed our first visit to the Art Gallery extension for Indigenous art.
Wonderful place ????????????????????????
Great permanent Inuit art collection. Rest varies
Sss
Art in Bloom was amazing!!!
Lovely building and versatile galleries that attract exceptional shows. But it doesn't take long to go through because it's altogether kind of small. It'll be much bigger once the Inuit Art Centre is added on. The WAG also offers a good selection of public art classes.
Wonderful collection
Small exhibition.
Lovely place to visit, you can definitely spend a whole afternoon there
Very helpful staff
Beautiful space and always changing exhibits
WAG is an absolute Winnipeg show pieces in tourist attraction list. Enjoyed my visit seeing the Impressists presentation. Well organized, comfortable and easy to view the artwork. I attend often.
Currently under modifications but exhibit areas are great. Came to see the Tony Sherman exhibit. Well worth the visit. Looking for to completion of the Inuit gallery.
Very nice art gallery, I really like the roof top patio. Only wish parking was a little easier!

The Manitoba Legislative building is an incredible historic site. A public treasure. This building is so much more than government offices. With stunning architecture and a multitude of gorgeous sculptural and painted works, it acts like a public museum. Go and walk around, you won't regret it. The neoclassical building was completed in 1920 and stands seventy-seven meters tall. Frank Worthington Simon was the architect. Construction started in 1913. The present-day Legislative Building was formally opened on 15 July 1920, the 50th anniversary of Manitoba's entry into Confederation. The Golden Boy is a statue perched facing North on the dome of the Manitoba Legislative Building. Golden Boy was actually created in France by sculptor Georges Garden and modeled after a 16th-century sculpture of the Roman god Mercury. The Queen Victoria Statue stands in the grounds of the Manitoba Legislative Building, Winnipeg, Canada. It was designed by the English sculptor George Frampton, it cost $15,000, and was paid for by a mixture of public funds and private donations.
Nice gallery. Very cold so bring a sweater due to the temperature having to be kept cool for the art. Lots of interesting installations. A must if you like indigenous art.
Often brings in great art from different periods and artists. Well worth a visit!
Beautiful! Wonderful experience!
I love this place. I've been coming here since I was little. They offer great art lessons for children and adults, the permanent and visiting collections are wonderful, and the special events are the best. I love the Christmas craft exhibition and sale.
Experience was excellent
Great gallery. Some parts are clearly dated, but they rarely get in the way of the exhibits. Good rotation of presentations.

Was my first time at the wag will go again
Wasn't it the gallery, doing road construction across the street
Amazing space
Did not enjoy it. The masters collection was very sad and disappointing. They had one very crappy painting from each good artist. Not one good painting from one of the actually good artists. The one Monet they had sucked, Monet has painted thousands of paintings and the Winnipeg art gallery chooses the worst one.
Amazing experience
There is far too much emphasis on native work. I know for a fact that this gallery has massive amounts of works in storage. Put more on display of what people would want to see, stop being too politically correct. Also with so much in storage, stop leaving gallery so empty. There is not enough traffic there to justify spacing the art so far apart. I have seen some of the pieces in storage, put more of it on display!!!!
Beautiful Art!
Great art
Full of treasures. Parking was hard to find but well worth it.
A great couple of hours spent with my daughter. We loved the exhibits and I enjoyed watching her explore and learn.
Good show.
The Winnipeg Art Gallery is a must-see for everyone; visitors and locals alike, if for no other reason than to experience the building itself, which is its own work of art. The bubble lights in the entrance strikingly invite you in to explore more. Winnipeg has a surprisingly rich history of art, from the more classic forms acquired during the turn of 20th century when it was home to the most millionaires in North America, to the raw, moving sculptures and multimodal art of our contemporary Inuit artists. Even the walls in this building are a type of found art, with thousands of fossils from the primordial seas captured in the limestone and presented as a once-living backdrop to the many exhibits.
always good exhibits and amazing artists to see
An excellent art gallery! Always enjoy visiting & viewing the exhibits such as North End photos by John Paskievich!
Cool place. Didn't know they also hosted events.
Was fun, beautiful place but would love to see more there. Slowly explored entire exhibition in less than two hours
I love coming to the Winnipeg Art Gallery
This place is beautiful. A must see for visitors to Winnipeg
My wife and I loved this place!! Beautiful art displays, amazing Inuit carvings displays and a well layed out building! The admissions clerk we talked to was very friendly and super knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Inuit culture and how much the water is important to the First Nations peoples in this part of the country.
Always a great experience
Great always lovely
Having a membership is well worth it!
Too much Inuit art. It's boring.
Art is neat
Fabulous installation of Inuit sculptures and Indigenous art! Respectful place First Nations Peoples to visit.
I love coming to the Winnipeg Art Gallery, it's always a pleasure to see and revisit the permanent collection and exhibitions. The new exhibitions always astound me, and I love how they all tie together.
Wonderful Experience
great place
Great art. Great space to here your fart echo
Very nice permanent classical exposition with oil paintings up to 500 years old: real magic is to look at them closer. Huge space for temporary excibitions which are pretty innovative and progressive.
Beautiful. Great selection of artwork and great space to host events. The catering was great as well.
Very spacious and a large variety of fine arts, however it may not interest the kids
Wonderful art but it felt to short
Always a joy to visit despite COVID.
Good display of art for Winnipeg. Enjoy the inuit art, and exhibit always change.
Lovely place for a wedding and reception.
It is well worth seeing!
The artworks are amazing!
What a nice art gallery. Lots of interesting things here
The current Tony Scherman exhibition is awesome. Best living encaustic painter in the world. Must see!
It was nice exhibition and the history part of it was very interesting.
Nice art gallery with large unique exhibits. They also have fun adult nights that I highly recommend.
Beautiful, and with the new addition to the gallery there are free lockers which is super helpful for coats. The gift shop has a great variety of local goods. The reason for four stars is that it can be difficult to find parking close by.
At a formal function, the meal was well-prepared, tasty, and served hot. There was plenty of staff so the pacing of the multiple courses was perfect, with the previous course cleared smartly. The venue was attractive and clean, with very nice decor (hey it's an art gallery after all!). Recommend WAG for a semi-formal or formal function.
We were there for a wedding. the staff were great it was so nicely decorated and seating was great
Very cool art gallery. Interesting building as well.
Friendly, excellent exhibition
It was interesting
Was at the WAG for a La Petit Point event. It was beautiful.
Place was beautiful but the food for the function was it good
We really enjoyed the museum. There were excellent collections - The Impressionists, Indigenous, and the outside sculpture garden.
Art. Exhibitions. Knowledge.
Nice exhibits. Really liked the 80s show - thought it was well done
Very doable museum. Not an overwhelming amount of art to do in an afternoon. Sounds like the new addition will be fantastic.
The space and the exhibits are fantastic!
I cant say best place but it's fairly clean and nice staff...
We were there to see a movie. it was very interesting
LOVED THE OLYMPUS EXHIBIT. WELL DONE !!!
Because my daughter goes there and work's
Good variety of shows.

Very nice art.
Wonderful
Beautiful place to visit
We went to the Quamajuk exhibit. Beautiful exhibit and beautiful building...
I have lived in Winnipeg my whole life and have never been to the WAG. Decided to make the trip yesterday and it was worth it. Very friendly staff and we had a great afternoon here.
Very interesting exhibits, worth going
It's good ????
Amazing building. I perform quite often for events there and the food is excellent, the service is great and the venue it's self is simply stunning. Shane The DJ of Topps Music Service
Canada's oldest "civic" Art Gallery. The Art Gallery is over 100 years old... and has about 25,000 items. The principal focus is on Manitoba and Canadian artists. It has the World's largest collection of "Inuit contemporary" art. The Range of art displayed is very broad... ranging from 2500 year old Greek sculptures to 21 century videos. In addition to the permanent exhibits there are also "special" and "temporary" exhibits. Sundays feature a 50% discount for entry. It is worthy of a visit. I hope that this Review is helpful.
There is always something new...really enjoyed the North End Photos exhibit recently.. extremely proud of our Winnipeg Art Gallery..????!
This is a nice art gallery set in an attractive building. They make excellent use of their space and often times host novel experiences which keep you coming back. My favourite experience was watching a close up opera in the foyer. The rooftop musice series set in the sculpture garden are also a unique experience.
Good travelling exhibits and indigenous art but they should change their permanent exhibit!
Under construction. Not many exhibits open
We went to see the Impressionists exhibit from NYC. It was extensive and presented well. The exhibit was grouped together on one floor in adjoining rooms so those with mobility issues won't have too far to walk to see it all. They had a range of paintings and drawings for those who like different formats. They also added a faux cafe where any visitor could sit and draw their own art and display it for anyone to see. I'm not a big art gallery type but I did enjoy the exhibit from so many different great artists. Took us 2 hours at a slow pace. They did offer a limited number of audio devices to hear commentary about each painting. Also downloadable on your cell phomne too. Cost was $18 per person and there was plenty of parking across the street in the Bay parkade. Not for kids in my opinion. We didn't do the rest of the WAG this time and we saw a large portion is under construction as a new wing is being built.
Great gallery and exhibits.
Unusual art. Not overwheming
The architectural beauty of the building is incomparable.
(Translated) Magnificent exhibition on Inuit art (Original) Magnifique exposition sur l'art Inuit
Great collection of Inuit art
Enjoyed a few hours.
Must see in Winnipeg
Extensive collection. Well displayed. Nice restaurant.
It is fully boring
Great space
Best craft show in manitoba
Have been to a few exhibits, very nice place with good service!
The new exhibition is great
Enjoyed the Arctic displays.
It was fun to be there. All the sculptures hypnotized me. Everyone should go. Check out my YouTube video.
Nice collection of art with intersting visiting displays
Not enforcing masks
WORLD MARVEL. This museum makes the W in Winnipeg stand for Worldclass. Breathtaking exhibit and stunning stunning INUIT Exhibition gallery. The eyes of the World And Nation must cast view on this absolute World Class exhibit. To Those who envisioned, executed and made this possible for our City, Thank You does not do justice. I left awestruck with my heart flooded with pride. I shall return and will boast at every occasion about this world wonder world class Art Gallery in the heart of our City!
impressionist exhibition very well done
The collection is passable. For a $25 entrance fee, the collection is barely worth it.
It's a great gallery
Lovely art gallery. We enjoyed the permanent collection and the Impressionist exhibition.
A wonderful space with galleries filled with diverse art and history. The new Visible Vault is a beautiful structure showcasing an amazing collection of Inuit carvings. It was my first visit but won't be my last by any means.
I visited the gift shop. I can't say enough about the staff. friendly, helpful & down to earth. excellent selections. great place to buy a one of a kind for you or as a gift!
Get some culture already. Go to the art gallery!
Had a great time here on a field trip. The guides were very knowledgeable and great with the kids. Loved all the exhibits and pieces
Nice
Experts mor modern art
Beautiful art
It was a nice experience , staff are knowledgeable, sundays are free for now and the art and displays are top notch
There is an amazing collection of Inuit art. I particularly enjoyed the Brazilian soapstone pieces.
Nice venue. Like on FB if you want to be notified of upcoming exhibits. Recently enjoyed the Picasso exhibit.
Amazing collection, has taken steps to shine a light on indigenous culture that has been neglected by modern Canada
Came from out of town to see the new Qaumajuq centre, only to find it was not open. There is no notice on the website expressing this, nor signage near the entrances of the facility to indicate the exhibit is not available. Even worse, the admission staff said we had entry to "both sides" upon payment. Only when we tried to enter the exhibition did we see it was blocked off. Truthfully had we known this new addition was closed we would have saved our visit for next time. Very disappointing.
Brilliant
Peacefull
Amazing collection of Inuit art.
Just a world class experience. The new Inuit Art Installation is a remarkable addition.
Excellent art gallery for the city. The gallery had both classical and modern art when I was there. The biggest thing of the gallery is it's promotion of Inuit art. It has a big collection of soapstone figures even dating back over 75 years. Right now they have a special section under construction dedicated to Inuit art. It's to be the biggest in the world and completed by 2020.
Nice Place to visit
Awesome art work on display and different themes. Enjoy each visit for sure.
Apart from the Greco-Roman exhibit on loan from Berlin (which was worth well worth seeing) it is not a remarkable gallery. Perhaps the greatest disappointment was wanting to linger longer, but being hungry, found the roof top restaurant closed for the day....barely 90 minutes after arriving we left.
We were invited for a private tour led by the WAG head curator, to see the brand new Picasso in Canada and Man Beast Exhibits, and they were spectacular! I've been to a few art galleries and museums, and I always enjoy myself, but I had never had a guide before. It seriously enriched the experience, especially for someone like myself, who isn't knowledgeable at all about the art and the history behind it. Viewing each piece meant so much more to me, when I was listening to the curator describe what Picasso was going through in his life during the time he created the work. There was also a small interactive section for gallery-goers to create their own Picasso-Style drawings. This is a wonderful idea, and really brought the work to life for me. I included a couple photo's to give readers an idea, but there was at least one other interactive section that I did not photograph. Finally, I have to mention how there were two write-ups for at least some of the pieces, one for adults, and one for kids...how cool! Things like "how many shapes can you find in this piece". I think this is a great idea, and will hopefully help to encourage families to come and view Picasso's works, and know that their kids are invited to appreciate the art as well. Thank you WAG for a splendid visit. I'll be back again, and will recommend the galleries to others as well!
(Translated) We visited such a place for the first time, we wanted to show the child something new, and yes! a couple of paintings caught his attention ... (Original) Мы посетили такое место впервые, хотелось показать ребенку что то новое,и да! пару картин привлекли его внимание...
Beautiful art but some areas are closed. Would have been nice to have a docent.
Great place for education
A reason to travel to Winnipeg. Authentic, genuine smoky flavor on lunch entree. Security personnel are well trained, reliable and comforting to patrons. Inuit art is breathtaking
Very interesting. My daughter is taking pottery classes and loves it.
Great looking at quality art work
Good art, but this place could really use a Thomas Kinkade exhibit. After all, he was the Painter of Light.
Very good place
Get some culture already. Go to the art gallery! Exhibits change often, all of which are really interesting. I've taken classes as well at the wag. The instructors are professional and helpful. I've come away with more then I went with every time.
