A great museum. Visited once before when they had a rare, working Wellington bomber here to visit. Came with my son and nephew this time during spring break. They’re both 6. Both the boys and I had a great time running around and looking at all the awesome planes and stuff and flipping switches and turning dials and sitting on the Air Canada passenger plane. It was all great fun. They especially loved the touchable control panels and paper airplane lessons.

Duane Myers

Kevin Nyborg

Great museum, lots of Canadian history including some very interesting pieces such as the avro car and a section of bush planes and a second floor lounge area with a view of the airport runway. Plan to spend 2-3 hours.

We were there at 1:50pm a few minutes before the Easter Egg Hunt starts at 2pm but the lady at the door didn't let us in because she said the Museum has reached capacity. My kids were crying when we left because they were really waiting for this day to do the egg hunt. My only concern is that they should warn people or say that in their ad that once they reach capacity they won't let people in anymore. It was raining this year and more cars are coming but parking far from the entrance and just walking with their little ones to the door and this is what they will get. Very inconsiderate and disappointing.

Fun but not kid friendly.

NOTE: We were guests at a birthday party, so pretty much free entrance. We do not know about costs for parties. I've been wanting to bring my kids here for a while since they enjoyed the Smithsonian Aerospace museum in Washington DC. Of course, I did not come into this with any intention of comparing the 2. I was prepared to be happy with seeing a hangar with 4 or 5 planes in the exhibit. I didn't count but I was pleased to see that there was at least double that and more. As a party venue: We've been to several parties where the party rooms were pretty cramped, designed for parties with around 15 kids. Definitely not designed to accommodate parents staying for the party. The party room here was very spacious compared to those. It was able to accommodate several kids and enabled the celebrants to invite adults as well without worrying about their comfort. It is probably comparable to the space that the Manitoba Children's Museum can provide. Activities included a tour of the exhibits, paper airplane making, and a visit to a separate play area. I definitely intend to come back for a visit. We will also consider this as a venue for our kids future birthday parties.. Visited April 2016

Very interesting! Lots of airplanes and history packed into the hangers. It should be even better when they get the new location up and running. Love it when they bring in the old but still flyable planes for special events. They do need to advertise those better. Too often you hear about it after the fact.

Tim Walden

Eric Smith

Eric Robinson

Lots of aircraft to look at. Many many engines. There is a strong bias to the Canadian side of the story, which is great. There is a whole area dedicated to bush planes, and their impact on mapping northern Canada.

Looking for a place to watch planes come and go? The flight deck is a great place to relax while your kids are running around Skyways! (Play area)

As an aviation buff I was obviously amazed with the museum collection. Such a pity money is always a major problem, one of the staff told us it took 30 years to complete the restoration of the Fairchild 71. Very nice staff and some rare exemples of airplanes, a must go place for all those who love aviation.

I K (Kira)

Great place for aviation lovers.

Excellent museum. Would have like to have seen more of the aircraft open for sitting inside, but aside from that, great experience. Kids seem to love the Skywalk kids area.

I loved it it's friendly and there was AC on a hot day that helped cool off

A well presented museum. Nice variety of aircraft both passenger and Canadian forces. Staff are very helpful, there was a display that required a “tour” in order to board the craft, staff member took us aboard and gave us the tour, super cool and thank you! Worth a visit, they were doing a kids birthday party as well, good community interaction.

Erik Fullerton

Hadn't been in about 15 years. They didn't have the play area for the kids back then, and I didn't have kids... LOL The kids had a ton of fun, and the price is very reasonable. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

I took my boys for the first time over a year ago. We had so much fun that I bought a membership! I'm not really into planes myself, but the kids love to walk with the guides and sit on a real plane and enjoy making the wings move on the smaller one. Of course, their favorite part is going upstairs and playing in the play area! They pretend to be planes running on the runway and fly all over the world. It is a wonderful place full of magic and adventure.

Nick Kozub

Moving to new home soon! Please do it right.

This museum is a must go if you are into the world of aviation. Highly recommended. Great place to take your kids to show them some really cool aircraft.

Had some time to kill before my flight from Winnipeg so i decided to stop by here beforehand. This is a wonderful museum for people of all ages interested in Canada's aviation history. It's not an enormous place so you can get through it in about an hour or 2 depending on your interest level. They have all kinds of exhibits from bush planes to fighters to the centerpiece Vickers Viscount which you may board (Spoiler - there was much more leg room back then!) The folks who volunteer at this museum are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable as well, they are happy to answer your questions! When i went to leave, I underestimated the walking distance between the museum and the terminal and a gentleman named Norm was so incredibly kind enough to give me a ride. Thanks again!

Great selection of Historically significant Canadian aircraft and a fantastic knowledgeable staff. Many rare and interesting aircraft and even some one of kinds models on display that have been restored to mint condition by the on-site restoration crew. I had the pleasure of being toured by an older gentleman named John, a retired history teacher with an obvious passion for teaching, he was incredibly kind and very knowledgeable about all the aircraft on-site. A lot of work goes into theses restorations and they take decades to complete. Would definitely recommend to anyone with an interest in aircraft and aviation or any history buff or anyone with a few hours to kill before a flight.

Dragos Nina

This is a great place to visit with your family or just by yourself. They have a lot of neat planes and really cool displays. It's an older museum that really connects with the time the planes are from. They have an interactive area for kids to play. You can host a function there as well. Great staff and worth a visit!

Nice place to see some aviation history. I was there for a birthday party and they gave a tour. You got to go into one of the planes, and kids got their picture taken one also. Gets a bit hot in the hanger if it's a hot day (over 30 degrees) There is a lounge area where you can watch airport activity, and a play structure for kids. Overall a cool place to check out!

I was here with my children for one of my nephew’s first birthday and we were fortunate enough to have Brady K. as our tour guide for the day. He was one of the most amusing tour guides I’ve ever had. He was knowledgeable, interactive, and very funny. He made a hot day inside an old stuffy plane definitely more interesting.

Excellent! Hope the collection will grow larger. Would the military consider moving and restoring the outdoor displayed craft to the museum? Also, regarding the new building site, would there be an enclosed connection to the airport to allow the long layover passengers a convenient visit to the new museum? A nice way to pass the time and impress the Winnipeg visitor.
