Nice quick informative stop, helpful staff.

Despite the rain, the site is beautiful. The interpreter who guided us around the house was incredibly well-informed, answering my myriad questions with tons of very interested information. When we asked something to which an answer was not immediate, they banded together to try to find out. I was also super grateful to get a tour/highlights reel of the beautiful vegetable garden. If you're in Winnipeg, drop by and spend a free afternoon learning about how and upper-middle-class Metis family used to live.

Barbara Guzman

Great place to go with family and friends over the summer! The tour guides do an amazing job at explaining the history behind the house :)

Philip Fletcher

This is a neat louie reils house. 12 people lived there at one time. Bedrooms up and on main floor

Riel House gives insight into our history of how people lived.

Josh Halliday

I have lived down the road from this spot for 4 years. Finally went. Just under $5 to get in for adults. I didn't bring my wallet so I did not go in but the grounds had lots to see without the tour of the house. Parks Canada should really do a refresh on it though as it is starting to show some age.

We visited with 3 adults and 2 boys age 9 and 14. There were some great informative display boards in front to read that gave us some of the history of Riel's life. We added a guided tour on to our visit which really increased our understanding of the site far beyond what we would have got ourselves. The young people working were friendly and informative. The bathrooms were nice and clean.

The interpreters the Louis Riel house are very knowledgeable and if never been it a great place to learn more about Manitoba's history. Also the Louis Riel house hosts an event every Thursday evening in the summer that has traditional live fiddle music and much more.......

Sebastian Kluth

Riel House National Historic Site is a little museum that only takes about fifteen minutes to visit. Riel didn't actually live here but his family did. Staff is very helpful and knows numerous historic details. Visiting this site is certainly worth a little detour.

Easy to access. Ample parking. Nice gardens.

Came here with my family and kids all the way from British Columbia and was very unimpressed with the tour, we could not comprehend the guide interpreter she could not speak properly, I had to ask her to repeat to many times, we ate lunch on the grounds and heard the same interpreter swearing. I did not appreciate my kids over hearing this. I don’t know who hired these ladies but if you want to go for a tour and be guided by people who can’t speak properly who swear and rude by all means go. I know I will not be back, very disappointed.

Katrina Easton

Interesting recreation of what the house looked like. There was Meti and music going on the day i was there

Michael Franklin

While Louis Riel, the 'father of Manitoba', didn't actually live in this home, it's still an interesting spot to visit to learn more about the period when he lived. As long as you have Discovery Pass, be sure to stop by.

Benjamin

Closed when I visited. There's a small garden and I bet the inside would be neat to see. Old timey and stuff.
