Visited here with my girlfriend in 2015; very cool place. All the ships and boats are on land; you can tour inside them. It has a lot of Canadian historic ships, and related marine items. Recommend this museum for all ages.

Great place to visit. Manitoba marine history for us to enjoy. I remember fishing out of one of the portholes on the SS Kenora as we traveled to hecla island and back on a weekend trip with my family. Well worth a visit with the kids .

(Translated) Occasionally found this museum, a great experience, so close and so real contact with the history of the Red River and Lake Winnipeg ships and shipping. These boats and exhibits are kept in perfect condition and are within reach, allowing children to have a sense of "temperature" in Canadian ships and shipping!

This is an amazing piece of Manitoba and Canadian history. The artifacts and ships all in great condition and self guiding tour is wonderful. For so much history along the river and formation of our province you see very little advertising and promotion of this site. Our son had a great time seeing everything and I enjoyed reading the history. Strange schools don't do tours here. Affordable for a family and nice drive to do something on the weekend. Glad we did it. My thanks to all the hard working volunteers who do an incredible job restoring the ships.

Well who knew of this place tucked in the North East of Selkirk Manitoba. I heard the boats were land docked but where. Pretty cool to walk along them & read of the past history of these amazing boats on the Red River & Lake Winnipeg. Further into Selkirk Park is camping, swimming & rodeo site. It’s a well kept up park and I will most definitely be going back. August 21, 2020: I had the opportunity to go back to the marine museum. This time with my daughter, her boyfriend & my mum. It was a beautiful afternoon exploring the boats and inside. So much to see, read with lasting memories. The rooms were not overly large. Was nice to go back in time.

The kids went nuts when they saw all the big boats out of the water! Adults $6.50, family $19, kids under 5 free. Was worth the money! Spent about 2 hours just running through the boats checking everything out. Some of the cabins are rooms are really nice and neat to see how luscious it can be on the river. Well worth a stop while you're in Selkirk.

A unique museum experience. Explore boots that let you get up close with marine history. The admission fee is very reasonable and worth it for a different kind of experience.

Estatta Lu

Great opportunity to see the real old boats from the inside, how they are built, some marine stuff and tools

Jakob Hill

First time visiting in over a decade. The boats are well preserved, and are filled with artifacts and information about Manitoba's marine history. At the time of my visit some exhibits on the Keenora were being renovated, and others were blocked off due to COVID. It's probably worth noting that there's lots of steps, ladders, low ceilings and narrow passageways, so probably not the best destination for folks with mobility issues. Also the museum may be hard to find if you're not from the area. Overall, a definite must-see for history buffs, and worth checking out if you're headed to the lake.

We went here for the Halloween Haunt and it was lots of fun. The actors were all great and the costumes and set were pretty scary. Very well done!

Really nice small museum. My kids enjoyed walking on the 6 ships. Each boat is different and it is quite interesting. In some boats you have information signs that tell the story about how the boats were used and where. Masks are mandatory inside and outside though we found a couple of people who decided to break the rules.

Super cool place, but we didn't look online ahead of time and realized once we were there they don't actually open until after May long. However, you can still walk around the outside of the boats which is amazing in itself. We have planned a return trip for when they are open!

Neat museum. The concept of the boats themselves housing displays is really cool. However it could use some tlc. The gift shop is a joke. I get the feeling if it was managed better it would attract more visitors bring in more money and be able to use that money to improve the museum.

An interesting collection of ships and other items to do with the maritime history of Manitoba's lakes. A lot of signage is in disrepair. I suspect due to a lack of funds.
