REVIEWS OF Assiniboine Park Zoo IN Kildonan

Scott Wachal

The zoo lights were amazing in March 2021!

Jessie Carroll

Excellent walking and enclosures, lovely views. Only thing that made my visit poor were the unmasked children standing on multiple fences.

Kia Slk

I don't like going to a zoo simply because I don't like to see animals in cages! Just visited this zoo for polar bears. It's a great place to see polar bears and get a taste of arctic wildlife.

Jeremy Anderson

The Assiniboine park zoo is easily a whole-day experience. The exhibits and habitats are accessible and visible, yet spacious and animal-friendly. Parking is free. Volunteers are in good supply, and are friendly and well-informed. Buildings and bathrooms are clean and in excellent repair. There is a lot for both children and adults to see, and there are snack and souvenir shops at several locations. Peacocks freely roam the grounds, as do red ground squirrels. We also saw a ferret dash across the path carrying a field mouse. Of everyone I saw at the zoo, I think only that field mouse was displeased with the day.

Ermio O

Perfect zoo I ever seen the place to take you friends and family's and with a lot unique animals I never seen them before.

Stephen Gilbert

First time I've been to a zoo where I got to see everything and the animals weren't hiding. Polar bears are stunning, fluterby pavilion was very relaxing.

James Gauthier

Zoolights event; I loved the feeling of being in a lit up park. The animations and all the decorations that was, the music tents, some dancing and food or beverages of varying choice. I didn't drink or eat the food, but it was a great experience. I arrived late close to 9pm and the music died down by 10, but the park remains open for awhile. There's warming fire pits managed by volunteers for those that get too chilled and need to warm up their hands. For $15 you could easily spend a couple of hours there and be entertained. I'd go again with more company

Ted Rennie

Spent a lovely morning at the zoo. This was my first visit to the “Journey to Churchill” exhibit. It was outstanding!

swirliness

Peacocks can be seen roaming all over, they pass by you casually and can be seen in other animals' areas, geese too. Lots of areas are temporarily closed or blocked off, don't worry as you can still access most areas by walking around the zoo. My yearly pass means I'll be here very often.

Victor Jegede

Nice place.The kids love it!

Reilly L. Coad

Have so many fond memories of going here when I was a kid! Haven't visited that much in the recent years but I've heard it's still a fun place to learn and make memories as a kid but also an adult

JewelPillow

I love it here! So many animals! While there I was even able to touch stingrays! Signage isn't the best, you have to depend on the maps but otherwise, amazing zoo Easy to find food and ice cream as well! Yum! I love that u can eat next to the bear enclosure in one part

Nicole Wiebe

Beautiful place. Wish they had more space. Beautiful Animals ❤

Ben Jiménez

Without question, Journey to Churchill is the highlight of the new revamp Assiniboine park zoo. While the polar bear are its marquee attraction, the harbour seals in my humble opinion are the show steppers. They are wonderfully entertaining and engaging. The other stand out is the new wolf paddock.

Michelle Deschenes

Polar Bears were amazing, huge park lots to see!

Len Pugh

Boo at the zoo is awesome this year. Great especially for kids.

Jaclyn McGill

We had an amazing time and can't wait to come and visit in the summer time!

Leo Qian

It's got good variety of animals and well layed out. Got the kids hopping like kangaroos (which is a main attraction). The dinosaur exhibit is a bit fake, but a hit for toddlers.

KatAnne Monroy

This zoo was quite lovely. There is a nice variety of animals in decent spacious looking cages. There is a few places that are nice to have a little picnic with the family. And the staff at the zoo were all very nice and informative. All in all it was a very nice outing

Michael Belanger

Boo at the zoo was good for the kids. As always the zoo was well maintained and put on a decent event

Jasper Alexander

Wonderful day at the zoo. Most of the animals were active on a brisk October day. Volunteers were quite helpful, and plenty of covid prevention practices were in place. 5/5, would attend again.

Maureen Toussaint

Lots to look at and great way to do an outing with the family

Ray Wong

Nice environment to walk around and check out a lot of different animals. Great place for family with young children.

Ashleigh

Went on a blistering hot day which allowed for a great experience as the volunteers were very eager and upbeat when helping and or approaching people. The Journey to Churchill was great as it led to the polar bears playing and relaxing in the water and giving us great views! The Kangaroo exhibit was great and I loved being able to be so close to them without having a fence or cage in the way (they make sure all guests are a specific distance away from the kangaroos for safety)!!!

Lucky Chahal

The zoo is a pretty cool place but wish there was more to do here and see. Will probably come eventually considering winters are cold so I’m sure there’s limitations. Some clear paths and shaded sitting areas would be great.

Jona Baumung

The morality of zoos is another topic. However, the individuals running the park were very attentive and seemed to love their job. The animals generally look well taken care of.

Wendy Strewchuk

Wow, the lights and weather, everyone with the same holiday spirit made for a beautiful evening. WELL DONE

Emily CPY

It's not exactly world class, but it's a very nice zoo that does lots of conservation and research. They don't do much in the way of exotic animal (besides the dinosaurs of course). The Journey to Churchill exhibit is pretty neat.

Ibiwangi Atabor

It was an awesome experience! I will do it again and again!! Well-laid-out pathways, volunteers willing to give help and knowledge at every turn, maps, the beauty of the outdoors and the sense that all the animals are being well taken care of.

Corinne R

We have become members and find it’s a great place to walk while enjoying our animals

Cameron Dyck

The zoo gets better everytime I visit! Kudos to the staff and management!!

Gerard haggett

Love the zoo and this light show they had on was alot of needed fun

heyitsjaddle !

Beautiful place to visit, the animals seem mostly happy. I got an annual pass this year and I highly suggest it, makes the experience less exhausting and more enjoyable, and definitely worth the extra money. Some staff enforce covid rules and some don’t, one volunteer got upset that we “came from the wrong way” and made sure we went right when entering Toucan Ridge but then let the group behind us go left. The random barricades on certain paths make it confusing. Overall I love the Zoo and hope to go many times this summer

jaino c mAthew

Not that much interesting than expected. But its construction is good.

Sunil Shrivastava

Absolutely a fantastic place to visit with family, friends or even alone. They have animals from around the world and they have volunteers to guide you on your trip. The polar bears are the best thing to watch and the seals are amazing. Had a great day at this place. Don't miss the amphitheatre as the short movie is incredible.

Roxie Pompana

Grew up in Manitoba and came here lots growing up, when we had kids they came. Everything about this place is amazing and can’t wait to come again.

Neil Neil

We love visiting the zoo. However, I will wait until pre-Covid sanity returns before going back. The manner in which movement of people has been manipulated and directed like cattle heading for a plunge dip, does nothing for spacing out or keeping people apart. In fact , it has the exact opposite effect. Remove the barriers and allow people to walk freely again. Typically on a hot day, there's very little animal movement, other than the polar bears.(Which is great, that's why we go to the zoo, to see the polar bears) The Tundra Grill has a limited bland "chicken wrap" menu and in spite of suggesting at the entry that fully vaccinated people are allowed to sit together, there's nowhere to sit inside. Furthermore, there's no crowd control in the bear viewing enclosure, and in spite of a large sign asking people to continue moving through the tunnel, NOBODY adhered to it. You need to have somebody inside assisting those who cannot read....

Mil

I haven't been to the Winnipeg zoo in years and all I have to say is... Wow. The improvements to the facility have exceeded my expectations. The polar bear and dinosaur exhibits are definitely a must see/experience if you haven't done so already. To add to the great exhibits and displays were helpful and friendly volunteers, the clean renovated bathrooms (and park overall, really), and bottle refill stations were scattered throughout to keep the visitors hydrated. We also had the privilege to speak to a zookeeper while she was feeding one of the critters and she was very friendly and informative while answer our questions. The only *mild* complaint (and I do mean mild) was the wait and disorganization at the food stands. There were some mix ups but they were corrected quickly. Highly recommended for a day of fun with loved ones.

Avi I

It is a nice zoo. I prefer going during colder weathers and in the winter as this is when you get to see more animals. They have ample free parking on site. It is a large zoo, so bring comfortable footwear, water and snacks.

Philippe Alves

I am never impressed by zoos in general. But this one had a particular impact on me, especially the artic section with the polar bears, the seals and the wolves. Plus I enjoyed sitting among the birds and watch them fly around, singing (loud!). A great place to go.

J K

The zoo has changed a lot since the 90s when I was a kid. Many of the enclosures made up of bars have been demolished to make way for the updated enclosures, such as the one for the polar bears. Some of the old attractions are still there, like the tropical house, which is nice during the middle of winter. The zoo actually possesses a substantial collection of animals, even if Winnipeg isn't the largest or most visited city in Canada. I think a trip to the zoo is well worth it, especially if you are in Winnipeg for the first time.

Steve Fierce

Boo at the Zoo was fun this year. The mist in the air Oct/10 added to the atmosphere. Good entertainment for the evening.

Walter Favell

Festival of lights very beautiful! I wanna keep going back Went on a perfect night No windy at all only -17 Great night for lights & family fun! Thank you Assiniboine Zoo & park and the people who helped put on the festivities thank you very much!

Liz Bradshaw (pezliz)

What a beautiful zoo to visit! Very educational, lots of fun for everyone in the family.

Amede Thompson

Took my son here for his birthday ????????

Narender rakhra

If you are in Winnipeg and you haven't been to this place, you are missing something. It's a very interactive place with knowledge about some very rare species of animals and birds, conservatories, and chance to see some really great moments. It has a really good soveneir shop and a restaurant with some really great people working for this place. You will love the experience.

Christine Boulton

Th Polar Bear exhibit is amazing and is the only reason I’m giving it 3 stars. Other then that, charging the same fee in off season as you do in peak is silly. All the extra stuff is closed for season, a lot of animals moved or not available. But don’t say that to the front office as the lady (I assume is a supervisor or manager as she was not in uniform) will scoff/laugh and say “that’s never gonna happen.” (Referring to off season pricing) I was actually surprised at that comeback. Maybe you have heard that a lot....so instead of being uppity in the future maybe just smile and nod and thank me for the suggestion if it irritates you that much. Given that I said it in a suggestive way and not demanding a refund, really didn’t justify that comeback. I also asked the same lady for a volunteers name that was so helpful so I could give her thumbs up here (she was the only interaction I had there that was pleasant). I said her name starts with a D and she has blonde hair. The lady laughed again at me and said they have over 300 volunteers and can’t keep track of them all. So I was there on a day where there couldn’t have been more then 20 people in the park with almost no paid employees anywhere and I only saw one volunteer. So forgive me, I don’t work there but I’m sure with my description she could have found out who I was talking about. No one else was around, it wasn’t busy and you have a customer that’s giving positive feedback. I would hate to see how you all deal with negative feedback! So overall if you want the full experience only go in the summer, which I was told to do.....cause you know I drive across Canada on a regular basis.???? If the same things are not available in the off season that are there during peak, how can you charge the same price? Even a small discount would be something. Just doesn’t make sense.

M Rivera

Huge, clean and safe area. It is good place to bring for kids and families. Volunteers and staffs are knowledgeable. A place that you can learn.

alex b

best place to walk with children

Angela Monkman

We had a good time out, volunteers were friendly and helpful, the store staff were nice as well :) I really like that there is tobacco offering for the bison. I'd love to see more things like this - that embrace and respect indigenous culture and practices. I'm a huge fan of Frogs, Owls, Sloths and Manatees- I would love to have more of these one day featured or an expanded exhibit. It's a good feeling to be able to go to a zoo and feel happy and enjoy the facility than to feel grim, sad and concerned for its inhabitants. I had a fun experience with a cavalier Peacock- so that was the highlight of this visit

Sahil Ahuja

Went to the zoo had a great experience.

Manjeet Singh

Nice place for spending the time with family..Friendly staff..

Navnath Indore

Wow. Best place to experience Artic animal life. One of the must visit place in winnipeg and Canada. Well maintained with healthy animals and well managed in Covid pandemic by zoo staff. Bus route 18 is easy option to get there from osborne junction.

Great place to spend a day with kids

Colleen Okrainec

October 9, 2021 Took my mum to Boo at the Zoo. This was her first time experiencing this event out weighed my many times attending. Reminded the times I took my daughter Brittany. I had much joy watching her expressions the inner child came out in her ‘n glad I was able to spend this amazing evening with my mum. The zoo stepped up this year going outside the box of their normal Boo. Included rides for all ages, band, riddles along the path to try to finger out, adult drinks, snacks, hot chocolate, coffee, mini donuts, walk through the grave yard ????. It was an wonderful evening fun had by all. We arrived for 5 the line up was quick end up finally making to the exit after 9. Did our night stop no made our way to Boston Pizza for dinner to talk about our wonderful day shopping/zoo. I love spending time with this amazing lady who has given me the strength when I was weak. Love you mum ????

Lisa B “Lisa B” A

Fun time at the annual Boo at The Zoo at Assiniboine Park ????. Enjoyed the live performances ????????????????????‍♂️????????‍????‍????

Frank Marchesini

One of my favorite places to visit every time I am in Winnipeg. The kids love it. The polar bear exhibit and Journey to Churchill are world class.

Gwah Gwah

Went to the zoo lights at night. Great display plus it was good to see firepits scattered about.

Lisa

Better to go on cooler days. Animals are hiding in the shade. Kids were happy with what we did see.

Haleys comet

SO MUCH FUN!! omg expensive however the addition of the sting ray exhibit where you can touch and feed them is amazing, had a blast with the kids :)

Whitecloud Booyakasha

Great experience but beware of wasps! Seriously. There is major wasps at every garbage and recycling bin. It's actually problematic. My daughter was stung and another customer in front of us, thier 2 year old was stung. So please beware. Juice and sweets attract them so staying in any spot for too long is a bad idea. But the polar bears make up for it ????

Udo Gerritzen

Nice Zoo. Very friendly staff/volunteers. The stingray house was the hit only topped by the polar bears. Saw them swimming in that water tunnel... Just great

Mystic Alara

Very poor value for our money. Prior to Journey to Churchill, there were more animals to view and it was more enjoyable. I used to go almost every week! Now? Not worth it. Went today and I feel we paid to see empty enclosures, plants, and parents not controlling their kids. Yes I know the zoo isn't responsible for that last part, but it's still part of the experience. The dinosaur enclosure was so lame, especially when you see old cob webs in some of the dinos mouths. It's 2021, I figured there would be a bit better technology but, guess not. What was also sad is so many of the enclosures are too small for these animals and they all look depressed...especially the meerkats who were trying to get out so badly. Honestly, the Journey to Churchill area is badly done because too much space is wasted on winding paths that show absolutely nothing, and the area about Churchill should really be in a museum, not a zoo. I'm so disappointed at how little there is to this zoo now. Most likely won't be back again.

Daniel Roscoe

The only reason for the missing star is the entrance fee. As a kid, the zoo was a standard summer Sunday excursion for my family, and I used to take my kids there too. Since they started charging for admission it has become a special occasion outing and I think I've been maybe 3 times. My son and his wife love going, and have season passes, and visit it all through the year. We joined them on a nice couple of hours walk, about 2 miles, slowly rambling through the zoo, stopping in the bird house, monkey house etc and having lunch in the Tundra grill. The display areas are very nice, much bigger and more humane than 50 years ago. The animals are impressive, and there are lots of helpful, knowledgeable volunteers, even in the -15 weather we visited during. The Tundra Cafe is a burger style eating place, with lots of support for families. Aunt Sally's Farm is a thing remembered only by us oldies, but the play area here is still fun, and a lot less scary for the animals. An additional feature of the grill is the view. You are looking out at the polar bear area and we got quite the floor show, the bears came right up to the windows and looked in at us, and then proceeded to goof around right in front of us. I had the big burger meal, but there are smaller meals as well as vegetarian options. I just missed the park breakfast meal due to getting there just after 11:00 but it looks like a good deal. Food was very good, hot fresh and generous servings. A bit more than a McD's but the floor show seemed worth it. We explored the aquarium exhibit, watching the seals power round the tank, and were fortunate enough to be given another show by the polar bear who jumped in and swam around and over us. I would like to go back, but the admission fee is pretty high for a pensioner, I'll probably wait till early summer to see the changes and maybe a few more animals.

Legal Eagle (Legal Eagle)

Absolutely superb place!! This is one of the best places to visit if you are in Winnipeg (in addtion to the Forks and the Human Rights Museum). The park is well kept and has several area for kids activities, walks, music arena, Arctic exhibit (live Polar bears and Seals). There is a cricket ground also. On a summer day you can spend hours there. You may rent rent group bikes to get around. Overall an amazing place to visit with kids, families or friends!!

Vanessa Meads

Such a great place to spend the day! I appreciate the water bottle fill stations that are available throughout, and the new polar bear enclosure is really something. Volunteers here are really friendly and knowledgeable as well.

Dimitris Protsios

We had a perfect day even though it was windy and showing today. But snow and wind were a good resemblance of a visit to Churchill ☺️ . Bears and seals were active enough to enjoy them playing around. Plenty of animals to watch and most of them were out and about. We will return for a follow up on a summer day.

Chloe Weinheimer

Beautifully renovated. Very spacious enclosures with lots of places for the animal to roam, play, and avoid people if they so wish. The animals look relaxed and well taken care of.

VIRAL RAVAL

Assiniboine zoo is really good place to explore new species and nature, there is proper guidance at each place and map is everywhere to give us directions. It has spread widely, however, if compared to Toronto zoo, it is not that much wide enough. But, Polar bear makes this Zoo worth to see. For one day picnic it's good to visit here with family.

Darshak Patel

Had a great time exploring the zoo and looks at the animals although a few of couple of them had an attitude.

Sharnell Friesen

I always love the zoo! What a fun adventure! Only wished we could have seen the Polar Bears swimming around!

John Dharm

Its a great place to being kids, they will especially love the dinosaur exhibit because they have models that move. The animals were in great care.

Ruben Barrios

It was an amazing experience, the polar bears are incredibles!!

Melanio Enero

Zoo lights were a phenomenal experience. $15 can be pricey but you end up staying for the whole experience. the money is worth it. $12 at Co-op acan save a bit if your with a large famile

'Tunji Alao

Located minutes from downtown Winnipeg in beautiful Assiniboine Park, the Assiniboine Park Zoo is one of Manitoba's premier tourist attractions. Home to nearly 200 animal species, the Zoo is a great place for exploration and family fun. Open year-round, the Zoo is the home of Journey to Churchill, one of the best arctic species exhibits in the world. Here visitors can experience polar bears and seals swimming above them in the amazing Sea Ice Passage as well as encountering musk ox, snowy owls, caribou and more! The Zoo also provides visitors with the opportunity to experience animal species from all corners of the globe including Amur tigers, camels, snow leopards and more. With over 80 park-like acres to explore, the Zoo has been a favourite destination for families, tourists, school groups, and animal lovers for over a century.

Ahmed Elsamahy

An okay zoo, doesn’t have a variety of animals like zoos in big cities. However the best part at least for me was the polar bears section! It’s great and you can see them swimming and having fun in the glass dome!

Piklu Sutradhar

Great place for everyone. My daughter enjoys the dinosaurs discover section.

F. Catojo

Took the family to Boo at the Zoo. Loved it. Great entertainment and lots to see and do. Really enjoyed the ferris wheel.

Tammy Rediger

Gift shop has a ton of stuff, every stuffed animal you can think of almost. The animals are well taken care of here. The best time to come is around 9 or 930 am during feeding time and when it is not too hot for the animals to be out. The pilar bear exhibit is my favourite part, they are so beautiful and the underwater tunnel provides some amazing perspective.

Odia Pollard

So much to see and do. I had a great time with the family. My 3 yr oldhada blast especially the dinosaurs and the polar bear

Jennifer Falk

I took my 3.5 year old daughter here and it was so much fun! We barely got to see half the zoo in the 3 hours we we're there! They were also celebrating the red panda, and had lots of fun festivities and learning experiences. I had no idea they had a butterfly garden or an Australian outback walk-through. So awesome! When our legs got tired, they even had a free shuttle tour. There were so many animals to see and lots we're out and about! We even passed by a few peackocks walking around freely. I was definitely impressed with the Tundra restaurant as they had quite a few gluten free and tasty options! I think I will look into getting a membership here!! Oh and they have a giant insect exhibition worth checking out right now that's included in admission. SO MUCH TO SEE!!! ????

Billie Quinn

It's very over priced($20.50 per adult) for what they offer. They dont have a lion anymore???????????? but they do have an amazing albino Bison who is SO handsome(you can see him for free from the parking lot ????). I can literally sum up the zoo in 5 pics.

Michael Koch-Schulte

One of the world's best Zoo's featuring boreal and arctic animals.

Mark G

A great little zoo for all ages. The polar bear exhibit is the highlight of the park, we were able to see them play fighting over the water tunnel. Butterfly exhbit was neat and informative. Plan on a minimum of 3.5hrs, though you can easily spend more. Bring a picnic lunch and spend some extra time in the park next door.

Richard

The size of this zoo is massive and they have a large selection of animals. However I do think some of the animal enclosures are very poorly decorated and extremely small. Monkeys were cool though! The admission price is not bad as well.

Charlotte Pirch

OUR FAMILY really enjoyed the Lights of the Zoo. The displays were amazing, staff was friendly and you could tell that there was a lot of work involved to make everyone's visit special.

Mandeep Sandhu

So cool place, mainly the glass tunnel for polar bears. Very well maintained and clean.

Christian Bazin

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is alright. It's bad, but it's far from world class. It's likely more exciting for children than adults. Our toddler really enjoys it. The renovations in the last few years are nice but having gone back this year for the first time since the renovations were done, I was not blown away. The Journey to Churchill is massive, and probably one of the most humane enclosures anywhere in the world. Despite it's many lookouts the only real attraction is the underwater tunnel, which is short lived due to the small size of this part of the installation. As for the rest of the Zoo, it is spread out, which again likely means better size enclosures but it's a little confusing to navigate the Zoo and the lookouts for many of the enclosures don't afford a very good view. This is particularly the case for children who are short or those in strollers. Although Zoos sometimes come in question for animal rights, they can be an important part of children's education to help them increase their value of animals, the environment and sustainability. Zoos can also benefit animals from the research done there too.

Michael Loschiavo

This is a great place to bring visiting family or even just for a family visit anytime. Nice and clean and lots of different animals To see

Levi Fehr

The new polar Bear exhibit was amazing, well done folks.

Jared Miskimmin

The lights were pretty spectacular and it was nice to get out of the house.

Siddartha I

It's a great zoo. The exciting part is you get to see the polar bear close up. You should definitely check out the show "Rhythms of the North" it's amazing. The seals put on a great show. Also definitely do check out the gift store to take some souvenir back home. If you ever visit Winnipeg make sure you check it out.

Lindsay Wachal

It was a beautiful day so quite a few people around but we loved it anyway

Gary Alderson

The grandkids and I had a wonderful time with the dinosaurs. We managed to see the musk ox were out. Great exhibits, animals.

Ralph Mousseau

Great little zoo. Well worth the admission fee.

Anahid Shook

Though small, this zoo has so much to look at, we easily burned through almost the entire day there! The animals seemed very healthy and happy. Very satisfying trip!

Corne Pretorius

Animals are well taken care of, facilities clean and maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed every single moment!

Hiu Yan Chan

The kids love the light, there are fire with an assistant there to help warm you up but... It's not very safe for little kids. There are 2 tents, one at the very back of the zoo and one of the right side from the entire. Bad decisions on our part to go at -35... Very true Winter-peg... The lights was beautiful and I think the kids love it beside it was a bit too cold.

silpa sethy

Nice place to go with family and friends. It can take upto 2 and half hours to go around the zoo. Many animals were sleeping when we went like polar bear and Lynx. I personally felt it was very dry for the animals with limited water supply.

Clay Purves

Took friends from out of town. The polar bears impressed them and the overall experience had them happy

Saud Alruwaili

Excellent place to visit for children.

Kenny Gionet

Boo at the zoo was amazing this year!! 1st time going!

Krissy Lee

The volunteers are amazing and the kids thought the extreme bugs were pretty neat. The baby snow leopards were cute and funny. I do miss the lions and a few other animals. The kids also loved the butterfly garden. The only downsize is how expensive it is. I understand they are trying to raise money for the zoo but the prices are over the top. The gift shop items were $15 for a little stuffed animal keychain or $30 for a 6 inch stuffed animal and they really weren't anything special. They should offer less expensive toys for the kids, very few people can afford $30 for a small stuffed animal.

Sophie Baillargeon

Sweet n short!

Sam B

Great selection of animals! Sometimes hard to see the animals with all the shadowy cages, especially with small children, but good overall. Be prepared to do lots of walking. Polar bear and seal underwater exhibit is super cool!!! My 1yr old daughter was super pumped about it!

J. Marshal Courneyea

Decent zoo...better than a lot, but some issues made it hard to grade. Standard problems a lot of zoos face (appropriate space and companionship for the animals)...but a top notch conservation effort with the world class polar bear facility to boot. Unfortunately a lack of signage and maps to navigate the facility/grounds hurt the score a bit too.

Serenity Duncan

Always love our yearly visit to the zoo, love the animals and the staff is always friendly

Julian Kim

Great place to bring the family and stay covid safe too.

Val

This zoo brings back so much memories. They have updated a lot to the place over the years. Glad to see a peacock still roaming freely around. Some of the animals where missing in action. (Unless they could be sleeping) Glad to see the zoo still busy as ever. Would give a 5 star if the attraction where fully stocked or working and up and running.

T Duong

Fun place to bring your family. Or go by yourself :)

Courtney C

This is a great place to go with the whole family, although it's a little pricey. If you go on a cool/cold day you will get your money's worth with the amount of animals to see. The volunteers and staff are also very helpful when having trouble getting around.

Sarika

Zoo lights were impressive. I’ve been to other zoo lights around Canada and this one is not to be missed. Oh and the stingray section was open as well. There are many places to warm up if you get too cold.

Marc S

Great! (If you like zoos.)

Kerr Almario

The kids will surely enjoy this place. It has a lot of different animals and there's also life-sized dinosaurs! The butterfly place is also amazing!

Rebecca Wallace

Went to boo at the zoo and had a fantastic time.

Louis Boisvert

The kids loved Boo at the Zoo. I was surprised with the beer gardens and live band! Very cool.

Corey Mugford

The habitats are modern and the animals appear well looked after. The Arctic, Farm and Dinosaur exhibits are all excellent. This Zoo is highly recommended!

Uxaer Malick

Really fun Zoo! Visit makes an active and informative day for adults and kids. Polar bear exhibit is the highlight.

Vimal Sandhu

Assiniboine zoo is an amazing spot for family outing. You can go for picnic and see a lot of animals at the same time. There are many animals here, including arctic animals, amazing tundra birds, small aquariums, farm animals in summer etc. I have been here a lot of times both in summer as well as winter. In my opinion, during summers the place is very crowded but it does have plus points which are missing in winter. For example butterflies, bug exhibit etc. On the other hand if you go here in winter, there are less people and the volunteers are easily available if you have questions about animals. They have restaurant, shop for souvenirs as well. This place deserves 5 starts, there is always something new going on here. They also have some special days for kids, old people etc. They have separate Churchill area, they also have kids’ play area. You must visit the zoo if you are in Winnipeg. I have tonne of photos, but uploading a few here.

Natalie

I love the zoo. This time is was for the zoo lights. So much fun. Allocate 1-2 hours and dress warm.

Bryan Abila

Beautiful place to enjoy and relax with kid, family and friends.

Mr Jackalope

To many wasps. I was told there was traps but could see none. Its amazing that me and my kids did not get bit. They also had very sloppy lines and directions, I still dont want to be near that many people due to variants and I was forced to be near to many people at once. They also had no one to enforce any rules or directions further complicating things. This kids had fun but I'm highly disappointed.

Simon Handley

Huge exhibits. Lots to see. The two big ticket animals we didn't see though. No polar bears or tigers could be seen. Avoid hot part of the day I think if you want to catch those two. We went from 1-5pm. The dinosaur exhibit on new species was awesome. I hadn't heard of many of them before. The butterfly conservatory was top notch too. On par with Niagara butterfly conservatory.

Derpy Corgi

I went for Boo! At The Zoo and it was a fun experience, but as to be expected it was pretty crowded and lines for the rides took forever to get through.

Francisco Alvarado

To have an unforgettable Sunday with kids. The polar bears are a top show

Andrew Kaiser

An alright zoo overall, but the Polar Bear exhibit: A MUST SEE! Cannot begin to describe the smile on my face seeing the polar bears swim overhead... Brings a child-like sense of wonder to anyone in the underwater tunnel. The seals and bears playing around in the water made it an unforgettable visit.

Devon Fischer

My fiancé and I just made our first trip here today! We've been in Winnipeg for a year and a half and finally decided to check it out. We've heard nothing but good things about it. We spent almost 4 hours here and still didn't see everything! We definitely will be going back. We loved our experience and can't wait for our next!

Alena Brown

Great zoo!! The polar bears were amazing and the sting rays were really cool! We didn't get a chance to see everything as we had a flight, but what we did see we had a great time!

Steven Goldstine

A must-visit for travelers and locals. Journey to Churchill (polar bears +) is remarkable every time, special events including the Lights at the Zoo are fantastic, and continued improvements keep the experience fresh and exciting.

Kaleb Inglis

Boo at the zoo was a great time lots of entertainment. Worth the price of admission. Line ups were a little long at the end of the night.

Lilllers

Assiniboine Zoo has had a nice little update. Aunt Sally's farm is nice bright and colorful, the small play area for kids is also welcomed as the one by the polar bears is usually overcrowded. The bison viewing platforms are a nice touch and make for a great photo opportunity. They have changed up some of their animals as well. Price is still pretty steep for this zoo, it lacks what others in the country have. Overall it was good to come back to.

Raymond

Lots of great animals enjoying the warm winter day.

Odell Havsdotter

Had a great time. Saw a lot of animals. Wish the scooters were cheaper to rent; its air of walking for someone with mobility issues. But I had a great time. The wolves were amazing

Kevin W

We love it, lots of options to see everything and the have new exhibits to see (this summer was dinosaurs). We enjoy it and got a membership.

Melanie Hartshorn

Great zoo! Links to fnmi. Staff was very helpful. Offer online visits too.

Leon Be

The Zoo has always been a decent place to visit. Animals are not usually that active but guess what no animal runs around 24hrs a day anyway. Journey to Churchill is a must, Aunt Sally's farm as well. Wandering peacock's yup you'll see those too!

Joanne L.

It was a fun trip. The most interesting was to see the polar bear swimming and playing in the water.

Robin

Christmas at the zoo. A stroll through amazing light displays. Lots of fires to warm up at.

Jeremy The Dad

Its so much awesome compared to when I was a kid...keep it up! And boo at the zoo!!! Love the new version!

Aaron Merke - In Character

Boo at the zoo and lights at the zoo were fantastic outdoor events for everyone.

Nicole Bambenek

Love the zoo, member of plenty years here! Love seeing all the improvements, would love to see the wolves in a bigger enclosure and the tiger! Pic for fun!

Pavehead

The zoo is fantastic, there is lots of fun to be had. There is a wide variety of different animals and sea creatures that you could certainly spend a whole day perusing. One thing I noticed however, is the lack of water bottle fill stations throughout the park. That is kind of frustrating when you have kids in tow and it's a hot day, and you didn't prepare with a lot of water.

oMykhajlo K

It was very family friendly. Rightly insisted upon covid safety measures (masks when indoors, etc.), but didn't impose a 'proof of vax' requirement. The APZoo has a wonderful balance of respectful habitats for animals and yet providing the public with the otherwise-impossible opportunity of observing animals up close.

Paul Lewis

Always fun to visit! The price always surprises me though, it's a good way to spend an afternoon with kids if they don't get too tired of walking.

Earl Rina

It is a good sunny day at assiniboine park zoo together with family and friends

Erin P

Many highlights at this spacious facility but the Journey to Churchill exhibit is amazing. On a good day, you can watch polar bears wander through the large habitat and play in the water. I don't know if there are any other facilities that show so much respect for these amazing bears.

Navjot Kheeva

Beautiful place to go specially for kids ♥️staff is very helpful and they also do little activities for children which make children fresh in this summer season . Highly recommend ????visit this place once.

BrendaLee R

Had fun with my sister at the zoo! Polar bears were active, saw the wolves being fed. Best time here so far!!

Frank Rinella

This is a proper theme park. Great family visit. Really surprised that a smaller city has a proper theme park style zoo. Lots of assistance for families to get around with tram , push strollers, and lots of food stops. The tundra grill is a great stop for lunch or snack to see the polar bears. Amazing. The polar enclosure is worth it. Great park. Top notch. Recommended

Kitin Cayona

Be sure to wear comfortable shoes that are meant for long walks because this place is huge. You can buy the tickets online and skip the lines. They also have kiosks for the tickets onsite that only accepts credit or debit card. But the line for cash payments is long. Bring your mask with you because you'll need to wear them in enclosed spaces in the park. Otherwise, outdoor is great and a mask is not required. There are a few food trucks and water refilling stations here and there. Kids surely enjoy this place.

Terry Peristerakis

Love the changes that our Zoo has made since I was a child and started coming here. While it is not a huge zoo, they have a lot of variety, and they have animals specially selected to handle Manitoba winters too. The new enclosure for the wolves is really nice and right when you come into the park, on the way to the polar bears and seals. The arctic foxes are really fun, the tiger enclosure is great as are the red pandas in the tropical house. Definitely a fun family destination, and even better in the summer when more of the animals are out and walking around.

Mohidul Arefin

I loved it! They have all the things that you need to see over there. I didn't get the chance to see the tiger. Probably he's shy. But I will meet that guy next time! Great decorations and arrangements. It's absolutely fantastic place. Good job! And the volunteers, omg they are so nice..

Mark Moffit

Spent 5 and a half hours at the Zoo. Animals were active in the morning. Polar Bears, Seals and wolves were a highlight for our nephew. Had a wonderful time. The dinosaur exhibits were interesting and right up a seven year olds alley. My wife will steal a red panda one day. Facilities were in good shape, signage was fairly informative and volunteers and staff were great.

Jass Maan

Wonderful place to chill !!! U can sit by the side of river and enjoy the sounds of running water , chirping birds, the park is really beautiful and very nicely organized ????????????????

David Brown

Wow great to be back at the "new and improved" Assiniboine Zoo! Lots of new displays and modern new look and what an amazing Polar bear experience now! You can walk under the swim tank in a clear tunnel and really see the bears up close in their elements. Then the new restaurant has a panoramic view of the enclosure where again you can see the bears up close and personal I their large habitat. An amazing experience and definitely must-see when visiting Winnipeg!

Isaak Wall Wall

It's the right place to have fun with your family, build up relationships between parents and children. Many diferentes animals, tasty snacks and ice cream. "It's recommended for everyone who needs fresh air"

RF Digital

Why does Winnipeg’s only zoo need yet another Google review? Well i haven’t been to the Zoo in nearly 20 years and I was blown away by the number of exhibits and vastness of the area. This is certainly an adventure you need to be ready for. After spending close to 4 hours wandering around I can definitely say I got my admissions worth. Whether going with a group of friends or alone with your camera it’s an absolute blast. Pack your snacks and bottles of water if you’ve got kids because it is truly an all day excursion.

Dave Miller

My 7 year old had a good time. I feel like our zoo is a little weak compared to others I've seen. On a bad day, 90% of the time is walking and seeing the man-made stuff and 10% is squinting to see a sleeping animal at the back of the cage. But this time was pretty good. We saw a bunch of animals close up. There's always construction, so maybe we'll see more improvments over time. Some things are not available thanks to Covid. But overall there is lots to see and I'm thankful to have a zoo.

Ryan Gugenheimer

Lots of construction currently happening. Polar bear exhibit is good. New tiger and wolf habitats are nice. Has a butterfly garden.

Jennifer Aquino

Such an absolutely beautiful, peaceful place. Beautiful English Garden & Sculpture is great. I loved walking around.

Kevin McCormick

My first time since they redid it and I was just in awe. They did an amazing job even have wolves now ( my favorite animal ) I really enjoyed it. Took our time and looked at all the open exhibit's. Well worth the trip!

Darren Seekings

Boo at the Zoo was great..Looking forward To Christmas lights

Bruce Hoadley

Absolutely amazing! Went for the light show

Snowflake 16

The zoo lights were unreal, the staff were on point, people were respectful, it was amazing! The zoo and the companies involved exceeded expectations!

eksbawks eksbawks

No polar bear in the water tank. But there was this nice white bucket that a polar bear may have crushed.

Eric Johns

Went for boo at the zoo. Even though we had a time to enter due to Covid restrictions the zoo was in incredibly full of people. I feel like they should figure out a better way to have a turn over in guests. Our time was 8:30, but I feel like the people with earlier times stayed a lot longer than we were able to. Which made the place that much more crowded.

Eric W

Excellent zoo for seeing Polar Bears. Most animals were our but some were not seen. Overall good value for you money. I tip my hat to the volunteers who really take their job seriously

Rachel H

While the Assiniboine Park Zoo has come a long way in improvements from the days of free entry, there is still plenty of room for growth to justify the $21.50 entrance fee. There are certainly fewer animals, but it works to the benefit of the zoo as several of the exhibits are much larger and more open, rivaling many of the more prestigious zoos in the country. The crown jewel remains the polar bear exhibit, where one can stand within a clear, plexiglass tunnel and watch the bears swim and play. There is still much work that needs to be done, but it is definitely worth the visit.

Debra Tokar

We covered every square inch of the zoo and found the staff and facilities clean and well tended. The staff were very helpful with directions. Totally enjoyable!!!

Kevin Colindres

I loved it, specially the new section with the dinosaurs. I loved that experience and specifically cause is one of the last sections so when you leave, the only thought on your head is of how great the visit to the zoo was

Michael Armas

Great zoo. Go here every couple of years and it's well worth the admission fee. If you haven't gone in a long time, the renovations from the old zoo are a drastic improvement! Seeing a polar swimming in a clear tunnel above you is amazing! The animatronic dinosaurs are a cool recent addtion.

Bree S

The zoo has come a long way over the years. Much better, more spacious and natural enclosures for many of the animals. Still some work to do!

Brian Hirsche

There are better zoo's in the world, but it was always an enjoyable experience. The exit setup could be improved. It is confusing and you get mixed up with people trying to enter. They why it was setup during Covid was much better. Completely set apart from the entrance and clearly marked. Would love to see a return to that setup. In all we enjoy going and will renew or membership in the coming months.

Helen Stockburn

Great service. Very clean when I was in there. Food was quickly brought out. Not always the case though.

Golnar NSK

I am one of those people who doesn't find going to zoo a fun activity, I can't tolerate watching animals in cage. But this one is worth a visit! It's really impressive, the way they have ensured every animal lives in an environment tailor-made for them.

Stephen Brisbois

Boo at the Zoo was good, some things better than the old ones, some could be improved upon. But the kids enjoyed it which is the important part.

D

Boo at the zoo: They closed the crossrodes food hub at 10. Not enough time if you buy tickets for 8:30 or later. Lines are super long, too many people let in at once. All I wanted was a sammich at 10:05.

G Lingelbach

Boo at the Zoo is wonderful and so much fun! A must visit if you love Halloween.

n tofigh

Most of animals weren't there. Many cages were evacuated for different reasons such as covid or vet visit. That is understandable but They should have noticed at the entrance. We paid for watching empty cages.

Roy Benedik

Nice to see the animals out and about. Great spring day.

Knut Reinertz

Best entertainment for some 23 Cad in town. Polar bears were very active ( though not swimming) and few visitors, so 1st row views to their playfight

Lauren M

The new additions and expansion are amazing! You can really get up close and personal with the bears and seals, the viewing tunnel where they swim is amazing. A lot different from when I was a kid. I miss Debbie, the old polar bear that lived at the zoo for many years. But what they have done with everything so far is really great. Volunteers and staff are all very warm and friendly. The play area in the restaurant is really great too, my little one enjoyed it very much and honestly I did as well, it was clean and I could actually fit in it and play with her. I'm giving 4 stars because there is still a ton of construction going on and some of the facilities are dated. But it is absolutely worth the trip to see the Journey to Churchill exhibit.

Matt Murdock

We have a yearly membership and recently went for Boo at the Zoo. It was our first time going and we had a lot of fun. The kids loved it.

Evan Harrison

I was there for the lights I was very good

Deb Pryslak

Great experience. Wonderful zoo. Very friendly and helpful volunteers make the visit so much more. Love the animals. Good tasting food at the Artic Tundra restaurant, where else can you have lunch and watch Polar bears

Geoff Miki

Beautiful space, good quality zoo. Polar bear exhibit is a must see! Currently, the "Lights at the zoo" is on until the end of the month. Wonderful display!

Tyson b

We went to boo at the zoo and it was great fun. My 5 year old loved the shows that were performed along the walkways. It was crowded so social distancing was impossible. A few more kid rides would of been nice but overall we had a great time. Thanks for the electric vehicle charging station that was a bonus.

Premjee Paul

I have visited the zoo many times. The polar bear habitat is amazing. They have some unique animals. If you are looking for tropical animals this is not the place to be.

bernadette mackenzie

This is a great zoo they have spent lots to change it out. The Churchill exhibit is great. They have a new extreme big exhibit too it was wonderful. A bit scary for the younger kids but well done .

Donnelle Loewen

Boo at the Zoo was great. Tons of people and a lot of little ones dressed up in costumes

Haihong Wang

A great place to visit with family, we visited there in Sept. 2006.

Brian Trinh

Great city zoo with polar bears, seals, a tiger, live dinosaurs, and even kangaroos. The property is clean, and paths have clear signage so you know where you're going.

Charlotte Watkins

Great place to just sit and watch the beautiful butterflies. Would recommend this for people who love butterflies..This exhibit is enjoyed by all ages. I definitely recommend this.

Ray Stephenson

Zoo lights exceptional ! Staff very friendley.

Erika De Miguel

A must see! The polar bear exhibit is amazing!!! A walk through with bears all around you, the animals are a joy to see and their enclosures are so big!

Jeff Ehlers

Had such a fun day at the Zoo. Everything was active. Staff are very pleasant and helpful.

jerry maliwanag

What a great zoo for such a small market. Worth the cost of admission. Prices in the zoo for food are even reasonable, not inflated like other attractions. Went in the winter, don't worry about the cold. You don't walk far to get to a warm building to shelter from the cold. There are numerous bathroom facilities all over the zoo, and they are all clean. Many volunteers around to provide information on anything in the zoo.

Sushie Singh

The zoo is a great place to visit. There are limited numbers allowed in the enclosed buildings and every one goes in one direction around the zoo. The exhibits are easily accessible, even if you are in a wheelchair or have a stroller. Love the safety measures in place and signs all over to remind you to stay safe. The dinosaur exhibit was the highlight of our visit but we enjoyed so much more.

Jas niz

Great place to spend one day picnic. My little one really enjoyed it.

Laurie Sodomlak

The air was crisp and the sky was blue so a perfect day for a visit to the Assiniboine Park Zoo. People traffic is directed in one direction around the zoo by all the great volunteers and signage. We were lucky to watch the polar bears and Azul Tiger at snack time.

Pedro Sandino Lora

My family loves to come here every now and then. Lots of animals and you never get tired of seeing the polar bears and seals swim. Watching 2 polar bears wrestle up close was unforgettable. Now that Aunt Sally's farm is open there are more things to see and do. It's fun to just sit under one of the trees and enjoy a snack from the food concession. I just wish the kids could pet some of the animals but overall it's always a fun family experience to come and visit here.

Erika Doerr

Our kids enjoy the Zoo. The Winter lights are also fun. I love that they're adding new things. We finally bought a membership. This year we'll be there more often.

usman sadiq

Day was delightful during the Zoo visit, But Animal were very limited in numbers. Need to more introduce entertaining things with Various Animals and species.

Anas A

Amazing zoo, well maintained, very welcoming staff members!

Rylan Ewen

Went to boo at the Zoo with my friends and my Niece, it was a blast for everyone. Great entertainment, rides, and food!

Rita Nimchonok

Had my first outing trying to stay safe though. Things were very nice. Would of been perfect If people would pay attention to the circles and signs. Wouldn't it be great if we didn't have to have restrictions. So how about we all follow them now so we can live to go visit again. Don't touch the glass means don't touch the glass. Stay distance means exactly that. Time to get on board everyone. Holiday's are coming soon.Want to be with your families. Take care stay safe.

Byron Yadao

Nice, clean place. Beautiful, interesting animals. Appreciated the Dinosaur exhibits.

Tara Silver

I really liked that they had water bottle fill stations and washrooms throughout the zoo. Decent concessions serving Popsicles and lemonade as it was a warm day. Would like to go back, didn't get to see all the animals as it was fairly warm outside. ????

Nathan Barton

This zoo was a decent zoo... wasn't the best, but also not the worse I went to. The Stingray exhibit was worth a star all by itself. A few cages were empty and there were no monkeys which was a disappointment

Sean Choiselat

We recently took our niece for her second birthday and we absolutely loved it! The Journey to Churchill exhibit was a favourite. The snacks are guaranteed to satisfy. We unfortunately were unable to see the entire place as she fell asleep halfway through. Would recommend

Gina Gustafson

Great visit to the zoo. Animals were all active. We were there first thing as they opened. When we left there was a line up to get in. All covid rules and signs were easy to follow.

Adam D

Really nice zoo with a good selection of animals to see. The enclosures are very elaborate and where appropriate very spacious. The highlight is definitely the journey to Churchill exhibit featuring animals from northern Manitoba. They have about 11 polar bears as of this review. They are mostly rescued animals too so that’s a plus. Good education center and lots of friendly volunteers with lots of info to share.

Sarah H

Great please to spend time.with family and friends. Tickets are price but it's always a great experience. The animals all have very large enclosures and are well taken care of. The gift shops are awesome and have lots of neat things! The food is amazing as well!

Lindsay Sanderson

Great place to spend time with the family. Hours easily went by and we enjoyed a nice lunch at the restaurant. Kids had tons of fun and also brought back some nostalgia

Karin Ens

One of the best zoos I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to a lot). The polar bear exhibit is amazing - where else can you see 9 polar bears?! I go up to Churchill for work a few times per year and I still love coming to the zoo to see the bears up close and swimming. The seals are also incredible and always a delight. A great mix of outdoor and indoor exhibits with mostly local /Manitoba animals (wolves, owls, cougar) so you can learn about the area, with several exciting “exotic” ones too (eg. Tigers!). The special events put on by the zoo are excellent as well, especially zoo lights now ending their second year. Plus, if you have a zoo membership, entrance fees are free and you get a discount on everything inside the zoo. The membership fee was super reasonable and I’m glad I have it! Photos are from my most recent visit, but I swear every time I go I have similarly amazing interactions.

Martha Wall

Thoroughly enjoyed my day here. The experience was definitely made by the stingray exhibit which was very interactive, and also by being able to watch the seals and polar bears swim and play from in the tunnel.

Jag Sandhu

Always a nice option for a date or family outing. Recently went for the Zoo Lights, and had a fun stroll. Dress warm!

Jim Retzer

Simply spend the whole day there.Great memories.

MariaL Janke

Very pretty, lots of staff around. Lines moved quickly, lots of cocoa an food options.

Vlad Povole

It's ridiculous that this place requires prove of vaccination. Dark outside, you have to pull out you ID, play with freezing phone to find vax. card. On other hand you are visiting public service places, stores and you don't need to provide vax. status. Some admins just going crazy with their decisions.

Tyler Thomaschewski

Probably one of Winnipeg's best tourist sites. I recently was gifted a membership and find myself using it all the time. The rates for a membership are paid off after only 4 or so visits, and it comes with many other perks. Would highly recommend many to buy a membership with limited activity's during covid times. Feel like going for a walk? May as well go look at some polar bears or monkeys while you do it!

John Vermette

A fun time. I liked the dinosaur exhibit. The only The gesture I have is they should have some cooling tunnels. It was awfully hot today we went

Jeffrey Hammond

Always love the Assiniboine Park zoo! Have not gone since the fees went up. The admission PRICES are outrageously expensive! So much for affordability for average families. They are gouging people. Saw some ignorant people feeding the peacocks & other animals. Not impressive.

Linda Blair

Excellent day for a visit to the Zoo, thanks to Towers Realty Group. The new displays such as the dinosaurs, kangaroos, and horses as well as Aunt Sally's Farm were especially interesting. A very helpful welcoming staff made for an excellent experience.

Caitlin K

The zoo alone is amazing. It's definitely an experience if you have little ones.

Q.E.D

Great place for an outing with family. The animals are generally out around supper time around 3 pm

Stephane Mercier

I had a very nice day visiting the zoo

Angela N

Saw lights at the zoo. It was amazing!

Jonathan Larsh

Having been to Toronto Zoo, it's hard to compare, but this was the perfect size for a single day walk with all the kids. We had an amazing family time at the zoo

Nigel Kerr

Good. Several exhibit were closed.

Bruce Swingle

Great place to spend quality time with the family. So happy that the city no longer operates it.

Jordan Harding

Awesome place to visit in the summer and the winter lights walk is great as well.

Kathy Lisson

Was there for Boo at the Zoo with my new granddaughter my son and my daughter-in-law loved the entire walk through the park

Tyler Horsman

Friendly staff, social distancing was being followed “ish” very few people wearing masks out side of indoor spaces. Animals were really active

Shawna Rossoukh

We were there for the Christmas light show. Very well organized. Despite the bitterly cold weather, we had a good time. There was aw warm up tent & different fire pit stations .

Brad Alder

The zoo was an amazing experience. So much fun, such great weather. And delicious mini doughnuts. Lol, Please check it out for yourself.

Alex Beisick

Love this place, well maintained and animals look well and taken care of. Sucks the airplanes fly over occasionally.. besides that it's a nice place.

Courtney M

This review is based on summer visits and Boo At the Zoo. Regular zoo programming has been great everytime we've gone, our zoo is outdated and pretty low key compared to the other provinces. That being said, the exhibits aren't usually very packed and the grounds tend to be reasonably clean and tidy. The Rays were a neat new addition to the current exhibit. Boo at the Zoo was a great time. The set up was engaging and the exhibits were very cool for the little ones. We did miss the live performances and music, due to bottlenecking crowds and general poor etiquette of the crowds taking selfies everywhere. While the tacky crowd behaviour was not directly the Zoo's fault it definitely did directly detract from our enjoyment there. This should be addressed to some degree for future B@tZ, but that aside, this is a great outing for the little ones. I would say those between 7-12 would get the most out of this experience.

Cody Crocock

Stop in every time I visit Winnipeg and always have a pleasant experience. The volunteers walking around the park and at the entrances to the pavilions were all very friendly

Dylan Mckay

Was a good walk around. Not overly priced an had good food stalls within. The whole family enjoyed the day would go again

Ben Reside

Incredible zoo, with great staff and exhibits. I would love to see larger enclosures for the animals though.

D. Gunson

For the most part my experience at the zoo was amazing the polar bears were putting on quite the show, the wolves were active, and the dinosaurs were very realistic. The zoo staff that were organizing the line-ups have some people skills they need to work on, other than that the staff in the zoo were very helpful and polite.

Leigha Corbett

Really great zoo. Loved the interaction with the keepers. Lots of walking but its to be expected in a large zoo. The tram was great from getting from one end of the zoo to the other. Extreme bugs was fun and educational. We loved all the butterflies too. If you're coming from the forks hitch a ride on the free trolly. A great day at the zoo!

Justin Rondeau

They've done such a great job with all of the renovations. Very modern exhibits in which makes you feel like you're walking through nature and not in a zoo. Glad to see great work is being put in!

Roger Harder

Amazing place to go as a family, especially with kids. The tickets look expensive, but are totally worth it. There are a lot of bathrooms, free water fountains to refill your mug and various places with picnic tables to enjoy you're snack\lunch. The 360 theater experience is awesome too!

Brent Anderson

We had a great time. Staff were friendly. We got lucky and almost all of the animals were awake and moving during our early morning visit.

Benjamin

Great Saturday night at zoo lights. Get there early as it's packed parking. The music tent and beer hall were separate which was a bit of a bummer. See the polar bears from the grill restaurant if you're lucky.

Jane Asong

Unforgettable experience and a nice outing for the summer amidst the pandemic. Everyone keep their distance too..

Yvonne Lewis

The Zoo is bigger and better than ever! Great way to spend the day with children, looking forward to the Light display coming up at the end of the month.

Zee Man

It is a beautiful zoo and has lots of animals to see . Mostly open air which could be great to do dying covid times . The polar bears are the highlight of the visit .
