First and still the BEST urban farm in the Halifax area. Am SO happy that the Kidston family decided to donate their land to this purpose: anyone can go there and grow a nice garden if they live in an apartment or other place where their yard isn't their own, to dig up and plant fruits and veggies in. Staff are WONDEFUL, and the place is very well run. FULL MARKS from me!! I used to have lots of fun in the old (now reclaimed by nature, lol) Kidston garden next to this do-it-yourself (with help when needed!!) farm: the elderly Mrs. Kidston gave me permission to pick whatever i wanted - she said i was the only child that ever asked if they could visit her garden, and i felt pretty good about that. The Kidstons were one of the founders of Spryfield, and they were and ARE a force for good in the area.
