A great place to view the Atlantic coastline and reflect on how dangerous ocean travel can be!

Trevor Richardson

the people in the info centre will not stop talking very loudly. this makes it very difficult to read the displays etc. other than that helpful and friendly

James Baglini

The folks there were very friendly and knowledgable.

Until the Titanic this was the worst sinking in the North Atlantic and it was also a White Star liner. Fascinating information that has been forgotten over the past century and over shadowed by the Titanic. It was an easy, short walk down to the memorial site with spectacular ocean views.

Grant Lamontagne

Halifax, and it's surrounding areas are full of all kinds of history I was not aware of. This is one of them, and well worth visiting if you are interested in that kind of thing. If not, it's a nice trail and a great place for a short walk.

Alexander Stevens

Nice ocean view from the small community of Terence Bay. Also great artifacts from the ship that once crashed along the shores of this site. If you like history and the sea you'll like this.

K Q

Interesting history and lots of artifacts in an easy-to-navigate and well-done exhibit. Also a nice outdoor part with good views and nice places to sit/picnic. More People need to know about this place!

A beautiful and historic location. Well worth the side trip to see. Great staff in the information office and many artifacts from wreck.

Mista Jay

We stopped here on a recent road trip through the Eastern Provinces and were glad we did. Very moving memorial over looking the ocean where the wreck occurred and the mass grave sight where hundreds who perished in the wreck are buried. Small boardwalk, cemetery, historical information on plaques made this a touching and memorable experience.

Cheryl Anne

Beautiful place to relax with the place full of history and a boardwalk by the ocean to walk on.

A great place to learn the history of this tragedy and to see the beauty of this area. There is a nearby sandy beach.

The museum itself if quaint and worth going into. But it's really the walk along the coast with the interpretive signs that are what make it totally worth visiting. Plus the scenery is stunning and there's a small sandy beach at the end of the walk to relax at. I'd give this 6 stars if I could.

Alexa Crawley

Beautiful view, quiet and informative.

This is a great little museum dedicated to a little known ship wreck back in 1873. A great ship of the White Star Line ran aground and sank just off the shore at Terrance Bay, NS.

Paul Creaser

This place is a fitting memorial both to the people who lost their lives in the tragedy, and to the people who rescued those who survived. People who live by the sea know how to take care of people, and I believe they always have. The folks in Terrence Bay are a lot like the people I grew up with. Generous and helpful. Google it, go, see.

Lissette Lemus

First, you get personally greeted by a local, who will share the history of the SS Atlantic, then you can enjoy a freshly made cup of tea and a cookie. Go to the board walk, you would be able to see where things actually happened, is fantastic! Support this community, if it wasn't because they reacted quickly more people would died that night!!!

Liam Sharpe

Beautiful park...I learned quite a bit about this forgotten shipwreck that occurred on the first of April, 1873.

The SS Atlantic's tragic sinking is commemerated here with an interpetive centre, staffed by someone who is knowledgeable and presents the story in an interesting way. There are many artifacts on display. The is an easy trail to the memorial and graveyard. Also, there is a small coffee shop.

This is a gem! The gentleman was very informative and clearly passionate about telling the story of the SS Atlantic. There are lots of fascinating artifacts that have been generously donated by family members of survivors or salvaged from the wreck. The walking trail and the picnic area are a beautiful, a nice place to sit and watch the ocean. Would highly recommend visiting!

A little gem of a museum and memorial site. Beautiful views from the sea shore. Fascinating and well presented artifacts from the wreck. Historic graveyard. Friendly and knowledgeable staff will even make you a cup of tea. Gift shop with locally made crafts. This is just a few miles off the main road to Peggys Cove and well worth the side trip. No crowds!

The history of this place and the views is amazing .

Was a very interesting little stop. Great local crafts and some insight into a shipwreck in the 1870s. Lovely walk around with nice views.
