You will see all the reviews of real people who are consuming the services of Ross Farm Museum (Museum) in Halifax (Canada).
At the present the firm has a score of 4.8 stars over 5 and this score has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, the average score it has is basically the best, and it's based on a large number of feddbacks, so we may be pretty sure that the valuation is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they are happy, it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to put scores when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Museum corresponds to the category of Heritage museum.
Lovely spot. Everyone was so welcoming and informative. I was curious about lots of things and the staff answered all of my questions and gave demonstrations as well. Lots of farm animals to see, and the grounds are nice to wander.
Had an amazing experience. Left with two happy sleepy kids Only wish we could've stayed longer
Worth the price of admission for the wagon ride alone, but if you have a taste for homesteading history or are looking for handcrafted goods like barrels, pokers, buckets or spoons, it's extra worthwhile. Ross Settlement was truly a unique place to grow up out of the wars.
This is a very special farm full of history and awesome people.
So much fun. Plan to spend a few hours. Lots to see and do. A visit to the little store, filled with handcrafts and local art, and so much more, even cookies! In the museum we needed time to read, and look around. A wealth of history. …
I had a wonderful time at Ross Farm even though we couldnt walk around a few buildings. The interpretors were so friendly. I'll come back again when everything is open and the animals are free to touch ahah. Also, sheep "maa's" were so surprising, imagine a man doing a bad sheep impersonation, that's the sound. The gentleman at the barrel making workshop was the loveliest guy! Update: went again in 2021, this time I took the horse drawn carriage and it was so nice. Carriage driver (?) was great at entertaining children, my daughter was enthralled and engaged. I went inside the barn where the pigs, horse (Ginger), cows and bulls were. I got to pet sheep and the horse. I was given a tour of the garden. I had an even better time than 2020. Must see. You can make it a stop on a Mahone Bay/Lunenburg day trip
Staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable about everything on site. We took our 2 year old in the fall and this winter. He loved the animals and on the horse ride the gentleman driving the cart remembered my sons name. Which definitely made …
Went in June for the pumpkin panting. Had a good time. Not much to do, I've heard there was a lot more going on during the more summery months though.
Excellent place to visit and learn local history...the staff was very pleasant and informative...thank you for the wonderful day...will definitely return!
Excellent overall experience. Employees were very knowledgeable. COVID precautions taken. Staff very helpful. An educational and enjoyable experience for the whole family.
Great experience with my 5 year old and her friend! Lovely staff and cute animals.
Took 2 kiddos for a visit on an in-service day. So much fun to see the new spring baby pigs and sheep. The staff we interacted with were friendly an engaged us in interesting conversation. Relaxed and spacious experience. Felt safe (re: COVID protocols).
Really accommodating and knowledgable staff. Everyone is friendly and it's a great experience for both individuals and groups. There's plenty to see and learn about. A great place to get some NS heritage!
We booked online for the 9.30 am slot, and we were the first ones there! A young man showed us all around the barn, gave us information about the animals and told us which ones would be amenable to being patted and which ones wouldn't. At various points of interest ( the house, the place where flax was being spun into linen thread, the cooperage,) we found wonderful staff who explained everything patiently and kindly so that our granddaughters ( ages 10, 7 and 5) could really understand how things were done way back then. The wagon ride was wonderful, King and Maverick worked well together as a team and the driver Wade talked to us all the way around the trail. Our little girls were tickled pink with the whole Ross Farm experience, and at the end they were well ready for the picnic we enjoyed beside the beautiful new reception building. We were blessed with the most beautiful autumn day so that we could all enjoy this activity to its fullest. This was a very successful outing, ten out of ten, we highly recommended it!!
Awesome place to take the kids to discover and learn about farms and the old life style. Very friendly staff and informative.
Always good food and their root beer is the best.
Went in 2018 to learn how to make maple syrup with friends at Bonny lea farm. We are pancakes made traditionally, nailed a maple leaf onto wood, got on a sleigh, saw a traditional schoolhouse..... Soo informative and interactive.... I plan on buying some things to make my living space more rustic also, to hold up to the test of time ( the home I stay at is.70+ years old )
What an amazing place! If your at all even slightly interested to see where agriculture has come from amd developed, then this is the place for you. Many buildings with many demonstrations of how life was on the farm in the past. Quite a …
Our visit to Ross Farm Museum was great. A must see. It is beautiful, fun, engaging for the entire family and most of all a wonderful learning experience.
we had the best day. the rain did not stop the fun. we will definitely be back!
Our family goes regularly to the farm. Our kids see the farm animals, especially new born animals. We look foward to sheep shearing and wool spinning. We mark the pumpkin plant weekend in our calendar in advance. Its a great day. We've …
Loved all the historical buildings, artifacts, and costumes, and the staff was informative and friendly. Wagon ride was fun and my 3 and 5 year old loved it! I’m glad I left my 2 year old at home as you’d need a stroller, etc, so that age is a bit young for this (in my opinion).
Such a peaceful way to spend time with family, and learn more about our history.
My boyfriend and I went to Ross Farm for Valentine's Day. It was beautifully quiet and absolutely serene with the snow on the ground from a few days prior snow fall. The staff were all fantastic. We were always greeted with smiles and kind …
Love this place. The kids asked to go back, since we missed the blacksmith on our last trip. Unfortunately, the wagon was not in service this trip, so one member of our party (who has bad knees) had to wait at the house while we made the hike. Luckily, the staff at the house kept her entertained until we got back! The little ones enjoyed the walk, and my middle child was fascinated by metalworking. She has now added "blacksmith" to her list of potential careers.
Lots of fun activities for children during March break. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The wagon ride and stop for hot chocolate was really popular <3
It is a great place to visit
My wife, my two grandson's and I really enjoyed our visit. Talking to the guides was very interesting. Unfortunately this was during the Covid 19 restrictions and we were unable to meet all the guides that would normally be available, the gift shop was closed and the hayrides were not available. We are looking forward to returning when more activities are available. Thank you for making our visit worthwhile.
My daughter,my husband and three kids went to visit yesterday. We had such a great time. Very informative and interesting. Since the entree fee was free we spent in the gift shop which had very pretty things. Thank you so much, we will be coming back to see the other stuff we missed due to tired children.
This place was awesome! The staff are exceptional and I learned so much - highly reccomend!!
We had a great morning at Ross Farm. The children loved to visit the animals they remembered from last year and the new additions, piglets and a calf. The staff were very helpful and answered all our questions. I believe we started taking our daughter to Ross farm at about the same age as her youngest child is now. Thanks!
This was our first visit to the Ross Farm Museum in many years. Despite Covid there were excellent socially distanced opportunities to look around the buildings, see the tools and machinery that were used back in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, enjoy the very well kept livestock, and listen to the staff, all in costume, talk about their particular trade, whether it be making barrels, shoeing oxen and horses, or making the many wooden items from spoons to snowshoes that were routinely used 'back in the day'. The various staff we talked to were very well informed and willing to put down what they were doing to share their knowledge and stories with us. The whole farm seems very well cared for. We saw no garbage lying around, no obviously decaying or neglected buildings, no poorly cared for livestock, and the vegetable garden made my wife envious! As she said in the car on the way back "What a well run place".
I have been going to New Ross Farm for several years, but hadn't been there in six, because I had moved away. I always enjoyed the many themed weekends and the hands-on experiences. Today, was my first time seeing the new building and I …
It’s closed to the city. Not too big and quiet place. I really enjoyed my time there.
The staff were all very pleasant, knowledgeable and eager to share their knowledge to make your visit to the farm most enjoyable. It's very clean and well run. I would recommend it to anyone!
We had such a great time here! So neat to step back in time and realize how hard folks worked for everything they had and used. No convenience like today. Everything took time sweat and hard work. The staff on site is amazing, so knowledgeable and so many neat stories. I could have talked to them all day.
Had fun with the kids, small spot but it’s a good little history tour and fun to get on a wagon and see some animals!
We were sorry that there were fewer demonstrations, and no crafts for the kids but I suppose that is due to COVID restrictions. The gnome treasure hunt, and hot chocolate and cookies at the end were great and we all had a good time (4 adults, 3 kids).
We have a fabulous time at Ross Farm, everyone was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Great place to spend sometime with the family
Absolutely loved my trip at the farm on Sunday....will definitely return....
