Great place to go for a stroll and people watch. Great little stores, restaurants, and bars. Activities for the kids and lots of places to sit and relax.
Beautiful way to spend a day. Breathing in salt air. Great shops, fantastic food.
Great place to visit
Lots to see along the waterfront and lots of public seating so you can relax and watch the people or the harbor. Many food options as well albeit a bit expensive.
Amazing place to do something different in the afternoon, or evening... Enjoy a meal or just relax on a hammock...
Always something good happening here, and good food and drink always available.
Nice walk, and cute stores, don't climb on the wave, seen the sign after the fact (sorry)
Beautiful place for weekend chill. You can take a ferry to Dartmouth and enjoy the beautiful ferry park. Also you can have the amazing view of Halifax from the other side of the waterfront. There are lots of cafe bar & restaurants available on the front. Cow's Icecream here is the famous in town.
Beautiful Saturday spent on the waterfront
A nice place to hang out for a few hours and check out the waterfront, eat at the kiosks or relax at the many restaurants in the proximity. You will see boats of many sizes cruising past you while you stroll. There were many displays set up for Halloween on our walk today around the boardwalk. I couldn't resist taking a snap shot of Jasper in front of one of the fall displays and posting it! You will find many comfy chairs, hammocks and seating along the boardwalk. The waterfront is a must to visit if you come to Halifax....oh and I just about forget to mention the music...buskers are a regular site around the grounds!
The bridge in the night look so amazing
Nice spot, a lot going on and the food choices are plentiful.
Love it. Very creative and diverse.
What a pleasure to see everyone out enjoying the Waterfront again. We had a nice stroll, dinner, and ice cream. Great people and puppy watching.
Great waterfront woth cafes, restaurants and playgrounds for all to enjoy
Good place to spend time..
EXCELLENT view! If you come to Halifax this is definitely a must see!
Friendly and kids loved it. Bring a towel.
A must-see for any tourist. A nice relaxing walk for any local. Has everything you need, food, beer, hotels, museums, ferries, sun and water. See ya there folks!
A lovely place to spend some time. No shortage of food or drink, and some great harbour views. Great destination for some indulgent treats on a nice day.
This is a great place for a stroll or bite to eat. Really there is something for everyone. Nice views, some top notch restaurants even some play stations for kids.
A very touristy place (during the summer at least), but cool to see the harbour and ships for a half an hour. Lots of food around as well.
Great place to enjoy a long stroll. Museums, coffee shops restaurants, markets... Walk for hours! Cool job!
3k long boardwalk has something for everyone. From donuts and dinner, to sailing and jewelry, one is bound to find something interesting to see.
The Halifax waterfront seems to have it all. A nice long and busy boardwalk past interesting arts & crafts, public art installations, food outlets & restaurants, harbour tours, bike rentals and museums at either ends of the boardwalk. Pier 21 is at one end and the maritime museum at the other. We had great weather when we visited on a cruise ship and you can tell from the pictures, it was a clear summer day. There are public washrooms and paid parking available along the waterfront. With a few condos sprouting up close to the waterfront, you can be sure this is one place that is guaranteed to attract a lot of crowd. The harbour hopper uses one of the parking lots adjacent to the Murphy's restaurant. Murphys seems to have the monopoly of the waterfront tourist attractions. A great place to spend a lazy afternoon.
Good places to eat, nice view, and really enjoyed taking one of the rental electric scooters on a ride.
There is no shortage of beauty here, nor of things to do and see.
An amazing view. So peaceful. Worth the visit
Beautiful spot. Very clean. Music, lots of sitting areas.
A clean relaxing place to walk and enjoy the harbor.
Nice boardwalk. City planners thought of giving access to the people. Keep the condos and developers away from ruining this.
Lovely city... Great ocean front views, nice people very tourist oriented...
Amazing! Beautiful place! Halifax is very nice city ❤
Super love this place. Nice walk that is pet friendly. Got a number of restaurants with patio. Enjoyed the summer weather outdoors.
Beautiful. Peaceful and relaxing. Stopped and had a couple of drinks. A bit pricy but that was to be expected in a tourist spot
definitely a beautiful place to spend a sunny day, lots of culture. Food, music entertainment, all in one nice long walking path and a short distance to many more cultural and historical landmarks. a must see for any visitor.
You need to visit Halifax, words cant explain how awesome this place is
No trip to Halifornia is complete without a visit here. Hit Stubborn Goat beer Garden or Salt House Social. The seafood tower and Oysters at Waterfront Warehouse Brunch at Black Spoon was divine. Bicycle Thief for a fancy dinner! Lower Deck for a nightcap
5 stars for the picturesque views and the energy of the waterfront. 1 star for the poor service, high prices, low quality restaurants that are scattered about. They are there to get you in, feed you some "authentic food" (some is good, some is not so good), and get you out. They know that you are not coming back so decent service by predominantly university students is often found elsewhere. Try any of the other restaurants a couple of streets away from the waterfront. Visit, enjoy, just don't eat at the waterfront.
Was a nice day on the waterfront but because it is off-season most of the outdoor shops are closed.
Beautiful place to walk and dine. Popular summer destination!
Parking is awful, but still beautiful
I would say it is one of the very coolest place to explore in halifax and to spend your evening by waterside. 3-4 place you should visit are: The Ferry terminal, The Wave, waterfront swings, curvy street lights..!
Walk along the boardwalk next to the ocean.
Very nice Ocean front place for a walk and something to eat with many touristic boutiques for souvenirs
Was here with my husband for an appointment. He was going to be two hours so I walked the waterfront. So many changes since I've been here last including a huge building lol
Its a super nice place to relax. Take a load off and relax right on the sea. Lots of marine activity to watch and some rentals available. Food stalls, some games and activities a Great pub and parking all available. If anything if they added some more adirondack chairs along the piers and a few more hammocks as seating can be hard to find. If your a hockey fan only a short walk to the Scotiabank arena to watch the Halifax mooseheads in action on game night.
Excellent!! Kudos to Halifax for an awesome job preserving the waterfront for the people vs developers. Tons of history, pictures, restaurants and shops. You can stroll back and forth between the cruise ship terminal and McDonald bridge. If you get tired of this, downtown is also a great place to walk around and shop or grab a beverage at a cafe or pub. Be sure to check out the citadel at the top of the hill. Great city
The Halifax waterfront is a happening spot with lots to see and do. You can walk a far distance all along on a boardwalk that has a variety of vendors. You have to visit the Halifax waterfront when visiting.
Clean, pedestrian friendly, with great food stalls and a wonderful environment.
The development along the waterfront keeps progressing and the outcome is great. Lots do see, eat, drink and enjoy.
One of the best seaports I have ever visited North of Maine Portland
Wonderful place to relax and blow off the steam
Best place in Halifax. I love taking a walk on waterfront, sit down and enjoy the view and take pictures.
Nice view on all the waterfront. Many cute buildings and stores. Perfect for walk on sunny day with the family. Dont forget to see Theodore ship with your kids ;)
Great view, banches, atmosphere A lot of restaurants, kiosks and cafe bars to have a seat and enjoy ur time Mist and cloudy doesnt stop novascotians from enjoying the evening
Great fantastic absolutely necessary to make the effort to visit this place.
Lovely to stroll to explore shops and restaurants!
One of the main attractions in Halifax with a lot options to spend a nice sunny day.
Come here in summer time.
So much to see and do here!!! Food, activities, entertainment and some amazing scenery A must on your visit!!
Very good and nice for walking, running or even meditating , love halifax
A wonderful place for a walk. Unfortunately, too many of the shops and stands were closed for Holiday Monday.
As a local now i go down there quite often to enjoy the scenery
I love my city, but parking is tricky. Paid parking lots down on the board walk or parking garages are ok, reasonable I guess. The board walk is clean and all kinds of little shops along the way. It's a great walk from Pier 21 all the way to the casino!
The water front soo beauitful now great place to go for a walk .
My first time in Halifax. Such a beautiful city. I took my sweet time taking in all the amazing views here. The boat race, historical statues, structure art and awesome street performance's. Along the way you will have lots of different delicious food to choose from. You want to shop that is covered as well pick up a souvenir as you will have plenty of shops along the way to visit. Got the kids there is a cool playground with a tidal wave they can burn off some energy well you do a pit stop to recharge. You won't regret the visit here.
Great place for a stroll in the evening little shops ice cream and treats.
I come here every time I visit Halifax. It's an enjoyable walk with plenty of shops, restaurants, and beautiful sights.
Local beers, seafood and shopping all with amazing views and great atmosphere.
There is a one legged Pidgeon. Very interesting.
Nothing short of spectacular
Beautiful for stroll along the waterside. Many places to dine and shop.
Fabulous and really worth to see!
Best place of Halifax with a very good restaurants patio. Government really investing money to develop better.
Beautiful boardwalk, busier during late evenings, has good amount of restaurants to munch on, not so big of a boardwalk(less than 2 km) I had probably mis read it as worlds longest downtown boardwalk(4km+)
This is a trip everyone going to the Maritimes has to take. Just go and you will understand..
This was an amazing day I had lots of amazing views and the lights at night where amazing
It's windy, cool breeze and one of l the must visit place in Halifax. One will get best feelings and enjoyment if they go with their loved one's.
Had an amazing afternoon, shopping walking and taking in the sights
Omg...love this place...don't want to leave ????????????..so much to see and do... Can't wait to come back ????????
Strolling Downtown with e-scooters, good spot for food lovers too.
Well worth the night time visit
Great tourist spot. Lots of activities and food places. Saw a great band at a bar on the waterfront. I think bar is called the Stubborn Goat.
There's always something to see and do on the Halifax waterfront...many great places to eat .things to see..photo ops all over..places to shop . explore..or just sit and enjoy the view.. music..food..or people watch. Walk your dog or go for a bike ride..jog.. Laz in the sun on the hammocks...grab a brew ... enjoy the lawn chairs...it's a great day on Halifax waterfront indeed ❤️.
Excellent place to pass all day
Great place to visit, just take a walk, see downtown attractions, and grab a bite!
Scenic view.
As soon as you see the fog roll out you have to head down here. It’s touristy, but it’s still a lot of fun and a beautifully done waterfront. Love this spot.
Great place to walk and relax by the water, lots of great places to eat and shop.
Beautiful waterfront with lots of restaurants, souvenirs shops and a great place to bring kids!!
Breathtakingly view of the water, lots of boats to see, shops to explore, and little artistic details throughout the harbor. I enjoyed walking around and taking my time doing it
The best place to see the harbor, take some pictures of the city and enjoy food.
Oh it was so nice to walk around the waterfront today. Lots if people walking around and entertainment.
Another reason why I am a proud Nova Scotian. Visited from Cape Breton and enjoyed every moment! Great job by the City of Halifax. Lots of history and so clean!!
We have had a great 3 nights in Halifax. Great music, plenty of places to eat and parking on the pier. The Henry House Pub has a great patio.
The Halifax waterfront is a great way to spend the day exploring everything it has to offer. We recommend the Farmers Market and Alexander Keith's brewery.
It is such an beautiful place to be. Just keep it in mind that they can be really crowded in weekends. Hope you would get the chance to make best memories with your loved ones here.
Great ambience and shopping experience ????
Would give 5 stars if a good portion of the main walk wast blocked off. It has been for a long time and I don't see it reopening anytime soon. Building "luxury apartments" right on the board walk was not a smart idea.
Great walk and harbourfront! Lots of food options and accessory stands and very lively environment.
I love the Halifax Harbour front! There is so much to buy, eat and explore!!! It’s definitely a touristy area so it’s always going to be crowded but you can always find spaces to relax or restaurants to enjoy a meal with family or friends! Make sure to wear comfortable footwear because due to the lack of parking spaces you may be doing lots of walking!
It was a beautiful day and so much to see!!
Amazing...full of shops, restaurants, just an amazing walk from beginning to end.
Beautiful waterfront, lots of restaurants and patios and outdoor seating for families (whether in a restaurant or not) fun vibe and lots to see and do.
Always a great place to spend an afternoon, lots of food options and vendors; my son loves the harbour-themed playground.
very kind people & clean environment. recommend any fish & chips at the waterfront: freshest tasting fish I’ve ever had. the melting streetlights are a must-see!
Gorgeous spot to wander and see. Visited in early August. Lots of food options and places to sit and relax while watching the ships. Shops to pop into offering a wide array of clothing and gifts. Pictures are all from same day. Cloudy, cool and overcast in the morning and bright and sunny afternoon. I understand that changeable weather is very typical in Halifax.
Visiting the Halifax waterfront on a summer evening is just wonderful. You have this wooden broadwalk spanning over a kilometer and the views are marvelous. I saw a group of people swing dancing, sailors, people just enjoying the walk. It was great. There are quite a few restaurants nearby that offer outdoor seating. There are tours one could take to see and understand the history of this place in an organized way.
We walked this everyday, its full of restaurants, bars, and people. I loved it If you get a chance take the ferry across to Dartmouth, its $ 5.00 round trip for 2 people and it takes 10 minutes.
It's under renovation according to signs at various spots and that is a great thing as it is a nice place to walk around, relax, entertain and do more. It will definitely look better as it is a bit worn down at some spots. Nice assortment of dining places with a variety of prices. Lots of free seating to enjoy the day on the pier or elsewhere.
Beautiful relaxing harbor and waterfront. I love being near or on the water. So much to do there as well. Several excellent restaurants to choose from too!
It's the most beautiful place, especially during Summer. Even in Winter it's still a good place to walk around.
Lots of events and development, always plants and bouquet like displays, and they're always adding something new so it's always an exciting visit
Busy without being crowded. Lots to see and do, great food choices.
Beautiful and happening place. Lot of affordable eateries and restaurants nearby. Nothing for the vegetarian though except French fries. Harbor hopper is a good experience for the water tour. Land tour of boring except for not too high a aerial view of the city in and around waterfront. Good time pass place for summer for those who don't want to drive beyond Halifax.
Nice walk along the water front.
Amazing place to see. Lots of activities. Great for kids. Many food options. I can't wait to go back
Amazing to send your time with your friends! Awesome food and ice cream too!
Today was perfect weather so the water was calm and enjoyed watching the sunrise.
Love this place. Always something to see, even if u have been before. Only draw back is seabridge is not open this year due to construction.
Walk the water front everyday. Lots of thinks to see and great places to eat.
Even with the rain it was really nice. Many stores, views and sounds.
Always a nice spot to visit. Get a beaver tail too!!!
Great for a peaceful walk. Huge fan of the ocean breeze
So great to see that as the city grows the waterfront continues to be the focal point offering many great views and adventure for all.
It was a beautiful walk along the boardwalk. Lots of waterfront places to eat or get a cold beer, to visit little shops and farmers market. This is a great spot for taking many photos too. Wonderful way to spend a sunny day!
Exquisite tranquility at water front. One of the best place to roam around in downtown. It almost take half a day to explore the beauy and get cool breeze.- fresh and airy.
This is THE place to be in Halifax. Awesome and fun atmosphere with lots to do: eating, shopping, relaxing, exploring, sightseeing, etc. One of my favourite parts was the hammock area. What a great idea! I wish they had these in Toronto. There’s also complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the boardwalk.
Lots of things to do. Check out Pier 21 and the North Atlantic Maritimes Museum. There are a lot of little gift shops, food vendors and restaurants. It’s a nice walk!
Simply Beautiful ????. Great little gift shops and restaurants and Sea Good places. Loved seeing the big container ???? Ships come in ????
Beautiful shops and lovely scenery to look at while you walk the boardwalk or relax in the public hammocks with an ice cream cone from Sugah!
Beautiful place, nice to have the ferry nearby to avoid parking issues.
Halifax knows how to dp waterfront! Awesome place for walking, souvenir shopping and takibg in the marine attractions!
Very place, good for walk, talk, seat with friends, taking pictures. There a lot of restaurants options.
Beautiful spot to spend the day walking and shopping and eating.
Great place for the whole family. There are chairs and hammocks to enjoy watching the boats and the water. Lots of interesting birds to watch and there are often people fishing from the wharf. Several interesting playgrounds for kids to enjoy.
Amazing view, world longest hourbour front boardwalk. Lots of places to eat. If you are visiting the city dont miss this area.
This summer the whole of Halifax was under construction making it hard to get around or park. Waterfront tourist area smaller than expected with less to do, thus mildly disappointed. A few nice restaurants and small shops.
Best place to meet beautiful women.782-641-0324rob
What are great tradition to start. The evergreen festival downtown was so magical.
This place bussin bussin, lots to do and see. Stopped on the hammocks to relax after a day DT, lots of restaurants and stuff to do. Make sure to stop at Davy Jones locker for a custom maritime T shirt he's got Halifax wind jammers to Beep
Beautiful place to visit. Lots of choices for local cuisine! Something to do for the whole family. Busy night life.
We have not visited the Halifax Waterfront for several years. We found it vastly improved in size and scope. There is more to see do, and more places to stop and enjoy Nova Scotia hospitality. There is a museum, harbour tours, shops, bicycles ans seats to relax and people watch. It was a great day.
By far the best place to hang out in Halifax! I’m currently camping in the Halifax area. I spent all day yesterday just hanging around the waterfront. Lots of places to visit. When your tired, even has spots to lay down in a hammock. Today, I will be back to watch some more shipping container ships come in. Very lively place. Only issue, it’s not located in Wildcats Country. Go Cats Go!
Best walk in Halifax, even though it’s typically touristy it’s fun with Lots if yummy restaurants and cafes and amazing views of the harbour. When we were there there was a buskers festival on( it was huge and people came from other parts of the world) and that was wonderful! Not this year due to Covid 19 but I’m sure it’ll be back next summer. So much history in this Harbour!
Construction is crazy at this time....fkoating boardwalk replacement is cool though
Nice to stroll around on. Very clean and well taken care of. Wish we had this setup here in SJ
One of the places I would consider a must see. The city has put so much into this area to make it as tourist friendly as possible. Activities, festivals and beautiful views, coupled with great resturants and pubs. There are also activities for children, educational material and some wonderful hammocks on the boardwalk to have a nap or read a book by the water.
Had lots of fun there lots of things to do.
It is really a wonderful waterfront !
Great place in downtown Halifax. Day or night you can always go amd chill
Us and the kids had a great time walking around enjoying all the things to do. Cool little shops and things to eat. The wave was probably the most fun.
Nice and quite place.
Lovely boardwalk. Amazing restaurant choices. Great vibe!
I came during COVID and on a day with cloudy skies. So it was the worst case scenario... Bring snacks, and you'll be fine. It's nice to get close to the ocean and see the views. Very pretty. Would 100% recommend to come during days where things would actually be open.
A wonderfully historic area of this famous city, with lots to see. The maritime museum was especially interesting given the history of the 1917 explosion and the RMS Titanic memerobilia.
Feel you want to have a walk by the ocean with the kids and family, it's the right place. A large choice for things to eat, activities for the youngsters and a nice relaxing view
Great place, friendly attentive servers and very good food. This place belongs to Gahan group and I can only recommend it. Great variety of beers too.
I have cruised on many ships and visited many ports of call, and Halifax is one of the best. When you meet people on cruise ships who discover you are from Halifax many comment about how much they enjoyed the Halifax waterfront. You can get off the ship and just walk to most attractions in the city. There are lots of restaurants and shops to explore, and the Museum adds to the possibilities of things to do.
Such a cool place to check out ! A must if your in the big city
One star less for not having enough parking spaces and washrooms. Otherwise very nice place to spend the entire day and night.
Beautiful new boardwalk extention. Lots of Adirondack chairs and bistro sets. Always a happy place to stroll, enjoy the sights and shop.
Great place to visit and enjoy a walk, some food, and shopping.
In the summer there is always lots to see and do on the Halifax Waterfront. My family and I explored the tall ships last summer. Lots of local talent and buskers to keep you entertained.
So much activity on the waterfront. Great to see people out enjoying the music and food and local shops.
If you in Halifax than you must venture down to the Board walk. Lots to different shops to look through and restaurants to eat at! Definitely worth it!
Loved it. It was foggy and it only added to the mystical setting. I had one of the best evenings of my life here
Halifax has a great Wharf Walkway with even vegan cafes, hammocks, children's play areas, great places to sit or eat outside. The further you walk the more cool spots emerge. The hammocks were so popular, we had to wait a bit to quickly catch one. What a great way to relax on the waterfront.
One of my favorite places in Halifax. Always great to visit. Something is happening around the year there. variety of food options, farmer market, museum of immigration etc. Refreshing to walk on wooden trail.
Just beautiful here
Great place with great crowd
Great place to visit. Great restaurants shops and just sit back and enjoy the sights ...
Good experience. Went on the ferry ride, felt awesome. Charges are the same as bus.
It is verey. Nice????
The improvements to the waterfront have made for an even more enjoyable experience. Plenty of vendors, live music and even more spots for snacking!
Was very good tonight on July 31st for this long weekend
Visited halifax first time. Stopped by the waterfront in a weekday afternoon with high expectation. It was beautiful, but not impressed!
The city has made the waterfront area a vibrant, welcoming place to be. We were here on a lovely August night and there were lots of people wandering around, live music playing, ample seating to watch the acticitynon the water or the people. It also felt completely safe. I would love to try some of the food places along here. There is a section that has a number of shipping containers that have been repurposed as retail locations.
One of the most people-friendly waterfront places i've ever seen!! A series of cute little parks for both children and adults alike, all connected by a broad, very well maintained boardwalk stretching from the shops near the Ferry Terminal, all the way to the Pier 21 complex of Farmer's Markets and other interesting places. WONDERFUL views of the harbour, McNab's and George's Islands, the MacDonald Bridge, Dartmouth/Eastern Passage shorelines, etc. Plenty of places to sit down and enjoy the day. Splendid place to watch the sunrise from, or just to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life for a while. Recommended for ALL ages.
Gorgeous day on the Halifax boardwalk. No crowds for July!! Great place to visit for fully vaccinated folks!!
Love the Halifax Waterfront. There's lots to see, lots of different stores. We had a fun time and stopped to have a beavertail. They were delicious.
Halifax waterfront is in the middle of being reconstructed. Old building fronts are being kept. New highrise buildings are developing. The new waterfront still has a 2 to 3 year finishing plan. The new Tourism look includes a new AGNS, Tourism centers, tourist attractions and a great walking waterway for a frontend veiw of the Halifax Harbour.
Beautiful stop to have a seat and look out at the water
One of the must visits in Halifax. The boardwalk is relaxing and a quick way to cross downtown without cars. Lots of statues, landmarks, and chairs to admire the harbour. A must visit for any tourist!
Beautiful!.!
???? this place is truly the best
The view is spectacular aswell as there are many different things to see on the waterfront alone. You could spend all day here!
There's a very specific reason for this one star review. I'd like to see the waterfront allow alcohol to wall with!!! All of Quebec and many other Canadian cities have adapted with COVID to allow people to have more freedom and responsibility with alcohol in public. ITS ABOUT TIME HALIFAX COMES INTO THE 21ST CENTURY. plus every european city does things like this. There is NO reason we can't do that too. I have submitted formal letters to the waterfront, city councilors and the Nova Scotia liquor board and no one is taking action on this. Let's hope this review gets it happening!!
The boardwalk is so beautiful. We lucked out with the weather being sunny and relatively warm most days, for late October we felt very fortunate. Some of the restaurants are definitely overpriced and underwhelming but that's to be expected.
Loved thevibe of the harbour. Very fun and a great place to relax.
A FANTABULOUS place for the entire family. Clean, there are rides, yummy ???? ice cream.
Very beautiful view
It's picturesque , great atmosphere, nice restaurants and people are very friendly! Loved it!
Lovely views
Really nice walk along the water with plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from.
Was my first time there and I loved it. Don't have any pictures but u have to try it. Went for skidoo. Make sure to reserve your spot on their website before
Nothing better than relaxing ocean side. Lots of spots to choose from for food.
Beautiful, scenic area along the harbour front. Very nice to stroll in the summer. On Canada Day, they have plenty of festivities and music, including activities for the kids.
Well, i went in night time and it was good and specially that yellow chair on deck was the best thing!
Some construction when you get off Halifax side of the ferry. Great new spot down along the board walk past the Maritime museum of the Atlantic. Good vendors. Prices good. Lots of places to sit and eat. Great views from the wharf area.
So beautiful on the waterfront. Social salsa dancing going on as a "free" Wednesday night activity; plus sax player, beautiful boats, fun people, beer garden and beavertails. What's not to love?
So love it beautiful! Walking enjoy the water the ocean and in some places great musi! thank you Halifax NS!
Easily walkable from our cruise ship with plenty of options for food and drink. There's a lovely submarine playground for kids. We took a hopper bus tour from around there and saw a small train tour option as well.
Always a beautiful place to go when you're in Halifax, the boardwalk is always nice at night. I would recommend atleast once in your life you gotta walk the waterfront boardwalk, and you gotta walk the pedway!
What a gorgeous, clean Boardwalk Waterfront! There were airondec chairs, benches, hammocks and even leash attachments for the pups! Water bowls serve our everywhere, friendly people & a huge assortment of tasty places to eat. We spend alot of time here because of how beautiful it was...will definitely be back!!!
Being near the water is of course pleasant. It is nice to walk along the boardwalk. However, if you’re looking for an uninterrupted step back in time you’ll be disappointed. While there are some old buildings, or old looking buildings, there are mostly newer buildings, some of which were clearly not designed to maintain the historic character of the area. The view across the Harbour is of many industrial areas. Restaurants are generally over priced, expensive and/or of questionable quality. I did find some of the food stalls to be surprisingly good. Had some fish n chips at the seafood stall - Katch - which was unexpectedly fresh and tasty.
So nice to wander by the waterfront. There is construction there now, but we still completely enjoyed ourselves. There is still plenty of open spaces to enjoy the views and the sea air.
A clean and safe spot to enjoy the day. Loved all the food choices along the way.
It's a very busy spot. If you're needing a bathroom break along the way, stop in at the ferry terminal. There's public restrooms available there. You're welcome! The boardwalk is a great spot for a stroll.
If you are on a cruise ships, the Halifax Boardwalk is extremely doable. On a nice day, it is a walker’s dream. Usually the temperatures are cool to cold; so, dress appropriately. There are a number of shops, pavilions restaurants and new residences were being built when we visited.
The Best place on the East coast. i would spend my days roaming the waterfront whenever im in town. peaceful. yet active always something going on amazing place to relax. try out the hammocks. relax and wait for one of the many musicians to start playing. weekends there usual a band or 2 in the summer. always a mecca for downtown. beaver tails and ice cream. fish and chips so many food options to make your head spin from simple to elegant. sit outside with a blanket on in the fall at a few of the downtown places. its magical!
Nice place
Great place to chill/relax with friends, family. Nice restaurants nearby, there is a hotel Marriott next to it. Had a great time. They should have more adventure activities or water parks.
Great place to walk or get some food or snacks
Amazing October day! Great area to walk and explore!
Great food, live music, gift shops and beautiful views
Had a great time fantastic and will be back
Beautiful walk while breathing the ocean air so awesome
This is one of the main attractions of this beautiful city. Harbour area, amazing dining restaurants, lovely vibe, games to play. Many street artists, Canadian waters, a glance Atlantic ocean ???? and marine life. Where you can enjoy museum, old history of Halifax, restaurants, ship deck's, Ferry to Dartmouth, for children's have a playground too
Gorgeous area! Fun to walk down the boardwalk as if it were pre covid. Everyone seems to be on board with social distancing too which is nice.
Historic and had long boardwalk at waterfront in mother nature.... Lively atmosphere.....
Haven't visited in quite some time. Better with age! Tremendous improvements with much to. Plenty of shops featuring local gifts. And of course many water tours available. While in Halifax, it's a must to see.
Very beautiful and fabulous place!????
Currently under construction and most things close early. Will be nicer when finished.
Amazing place. The lights during winter are great to! One of the most beautiful places in the world in my opinion especially at night
Beautiful spot... tons of food places and the boardwalk view is incredible
It’s a great place to chill out, taking in the sights. You can access to its long, beautiful boardwalk from ample parking spots nearby. There are many benches to stop, appreciating the Dartmouth skyline with some boats sailing. I, …
Nice place to see the history about Halifax. Nice restaurants.
Great spot with great food. Check out the hammocks!
Danced with the gf in the pouring rain into the middle of a outside eating area that was playing music
A small ferries wheel was installed near the car park and it is free for the public. It is definitely a spot light of Christmas decoration there. We visited there on Saturday night but had just queued for about 10 minutes. We had so much fun on the wheel.
Very clean and calm
Very nice boardwalk. Beautiful sites. Good restaurants, brewerys.
Great people watching spot. So much to do and see. A few more public washrooms would be nice, but wonderful spot.
Loved it! Visited the museum, harbour buggy and strolled. Came back it was so much fun. Beautiful art, chairs to sit and enjoy. The Corvette was a highlight.
Expansion of the existing boardwalks are underway. More room to sit and enjoy a beverage and something yummy from many of the delicious kiosks.
We were on the waterfront for Pokemon Go Fest. It was pretty crowded but not too bad considering COVID. I would give the boardwalk area a 9 out of 10 for wheelchair accessibility. It's pretty easy to navigate independently around there in a chair, just not as easy to locate a wheelchair friendly washroom, I'd say. Not 100% sure if that's because of COVID, or in general, but it is worth noting.
Great place To stroll and check out shops. Tons of things to go and explore. Rentals, tours shops etc.
Always enjoy some time on the hfx waterfront. Love taking the Nikon for some great shots and always something to do for people of all ages.
We enjoyed the walk on the waterfront. It beautiful sightseeing
I love Halifax waterfront. Great to see everyone out enjoying the beautiful weather. Lots of patios to have a great meal and cold drink .
Beautiful views of the Atlantic. Wonderful eateries along the boardwalk. A nice place to just sit and relax
Was a place I would like to go back to see more of the city
Nice area to walk around , grab a drink. Beautiful scenery ????
It is the thing that gives this city it's character and why I love to live here
Peaceful. Beautiful. Tranquilizing. Place
Just a great place to walk around, get some ice cream on a hot summer's day
Wow was very nice time ;)
Beautiful. Lots of spots to sit down to relax and/or eat
Great place for walk around.
Amazing view, restaurants and awesome museums within walking distance.
Can't complain. Lots of food and drink
A really enjoyable walk along the harbour. Plenty of places to sit and take in the scenery. Not overly commercial, a few shops selling 'local' souvenirs and plenty of bar/restaurants specialising in fish.
Quite a number of restaurants and food stalls along the harbour walk. Good place take a stroll, running exercise or even sitting to enjoy the scenic view.
The Halifax Waterfront is the paragon of HRM and a perfect representation of our culture and values! If you're coming in from a cruise ship, or if it's your first time DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE! Go listen to the buskers, experience the bursting energy, and spend some time at all the little shops and kiosks; you won't regret making time for this.
Halifax Harbor was a great place for visiting.... very lively bustling harbor. Many entertainment spots and restaurants and snack areas. beach volleyball , ice-cream, hopscotch, playground. And many many more Great place to spend many many hours and won't get tired or finish seeing everything in a day.
Enjoyed myself and will definitely come back.
Absolutely amazing time here with the family, good food drinks and atmosphere.
Took a walk along here back to the ship, great place for a waterfront stroll. Plenty of good places to eat. Maritime museums, information centre, tourist road train and art/monuments to view.
Nice view of waterfront
I love getting to the waterfront every chance I get. Busy or not, I just find it peaceful.
Great place to go for a walk or pick up and dessert after dinner
The waterfront area is so lively and amazing! Great boardwalk
The waterfront boardwalk is great. Has some great pubs, food venues, activities and entertainment daily.
Lots to do, plenty of food choices and tiny shops to keep us occupied.
Waterfront is so wet!!! What's with all this water?? Wish someone had warned me there'd be this much water. I can't even swim. So dangerous. Zero stars.
We could spend all day here. Lots of places to eat, patios to sit and have a drink. There are lots of shops and there are bistro sets and Muskoka chairs everywhere. You can take a ferry to or from Dartmouth. Update September 2021: It's still a great place to visit. They are putting up condos along the boardwalk which could take away from the ambiance and it is becoming very commercialized.
Ample walking space and seating. Lots of vendors selling local delicacies. Highly recommend a visit if you are visiting Halifax.
Lots of things to see. My kids loved the playground and talking to the people fishing. We wished that there were shops open in the market.
Start at the Farmers market. Fantastic boardwalk, so much to see and explore
Lots of restaurants to choose from here. Great vibe near the water including music. Good length boardwalk. Buskers and street performers. Dog friendly walk with picnic tables to sit and have a snack. Great options of dine in restaurants or takeout food stalls.
Love to walk along the waterfront. Always stop at Amos Pewter.
Halifax Waterfront on an early Sunday morning - what a treat. Not much open. Just a few people relaxing in the bright morning sun, getting exercise, enjoying the possibilities of the day...
Always a delightful way to spend a few hours. The boardwalk runs for more than a mile and has lots of history. The White Star Line was once on the eastern end and now is anchored by a market and cruise ship port. Summer brings amazing yachts from all over the world. You can take a ferry across the harbor to Dartmouth for a view of the city. It's also fun to just find a place to sit and watch the world go by on and off the water.
The waterfront is really well preserved, the feelling of old town is really nice to take a walk.
The place is clean, the shops are cute, and they have plenty of photo sites!
Most of the great things about the Harbour are shutdown. I used to enjoy walking down there and buying trinkets and a meal, I won't bother next visit
Love this place always have always will. Love the "wave" especially how there is a sign that says to stay off it but every kid has to go on it, including myself. Love the cool breezes and sunny days. Missing the good ole days when the busker festival would be there when I as younger.
Great for walking up and down when you need to have a think. Or just people watch.
Lots of great things to do and places to eat, all around great vibe around the waterfront!
Great place to visit. Under construction in some places. Great place to go for a walk.
Nice to walk along the boardwalk.
Love the Halifax waterfront. It is especially busy now after the patios have re-opened but well worth the trip downtown.
A must have place to see! Beautiful scenery, great food, music and the ocean! Definitely will be back again :)
Nice place to walk and enjoy the MANY food huts that offer great food, Like the newly opened Brawta Jamaican Jerk Hut or stop by the Beavertail hut for a sweet snack.
Great variety of restaurant and shops. Lots of cool things to see and do, rent seadoo's, bikes or segways.
Great source of entertainment for everyone! Buskers 2019 has been an amazing event this far!
The waterfront is a great place to visit in downtown Halifax. There is ample parking close to boardwalk. Even on a very busy day it's possible to stop at the many benches and relax and take in the sights; boats sailing, the Dartmouth skyline, the cruise ships. Many vendors are present along the water front; Cows ice cream is a must stop, grab some chocolate from Peace by Chocolate, fish and chips at Murphy on the lake.
It was great being out with people after all that we went through
Walked along the waterfront. Many things to watch and to do.
Great solo, family or romantic adventure. Shops, restaurants, beer gardens, food trucks and many attractions along the way. Bike rentals at iheartbikes Segway rentals Boat tours on the tall ship Silva Harbour hoppers for all inclusive Halifax tour Keith's brewery for historic attraction Largest farmers market in North America near pier 21 Try Atlantic lobster and fish and chips Lovely old ships new yachts and visiting cruise ships to see Take the ferry (Halifax public transport 12 mins each way 2.75$ I believe) to Dartmouth for an epic view of Halifax Bring a sweater, can be breezy when the coastal wind comes. A lovely experience for all. Enjoy!
Night walk is the best
Best place to go for a walk or to people watch during the spring-fall. Very pedestrian friendly and lots of seating available during the summer. Lots of seasonable businesses are on the waterfront ranging from food and drinks, to glass, to bike rentals, to performance areas. The whole waterfront goes from the farmer’s market to the casino. There’s also a few boats/sails/cargo ships around and sometimes there are really fancy million dollar yachts to look at. You can see Dartmouth across the water and George’s Island as well. Definitely a fun place to go if you’re visiting Halifax.
Very nice and clean water front. Halifax you should be proud of the beautiful shops and places to eat.
Great family place to spend the day.
It has been at least 10 years since I was here last and I was very impressed with the development. Lots of shops and seating if you want to enjoy the view
Halifax waterfront is an amazing place. It was unfortunate that the little shops close down for winter so early in the year. Should stay open until at least end of October.
Beautiful place for walk. Place for kids to play as well.
Busy with tourists and a vibrant night life. Plenty of food and live music in the bars. Harbour tours were good and guides were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. A very welcoming and friendly destination.
Nice place to walk, sit, enjoy good food, drinks and great water view. Music, great vibes????????
Lovely place to celebrate my birthday !!! ????❤???? Fish and cheaps!!
All behind fences. Couldn't enjoy and of the waterfront. Also, restaurants saying they are open on their signs AND ARE CLOSED......should know better ????????♀️????????♀️
Don't get to halifax often but my son loved the park!
Walk the dog through there daily. They just added a massive deck which is entirely a public space with tables and chairs over the ocean. Great for adults and small children.
I love the Halifax waterfront. Lots of local food and snacks. Not too crowded. Great place to stroll in the summer.
Great place ever seen
What a great place! Beautiful views of the harbour and the shops going by. Lots of different types of food along the way. Great place for the kids to play as well.
Nice view with fogbank coming in
Lots to do along the boardwalk. Plenty of restaurants and watering holes to meet whatever desire you have. Well kept, cleaned and safe.
Nice restaurants. You can take long walk along the pier. Nice installations to spend quality and quiet time on the waterfront.
Nice place to stroll and visit lots of vendors. Pretty views and lots of chairs to stop and relax.
Always a pleasure to spend time on the waterfront in Halifax. I did an early morning run before the hustle and bustle of the day began. Returned later for a relaxed stroll, a little lunch and shopping from local vendors.
Love the new changes ro the waterfront although I will be glad when all of the construction is completed
lovely to be home, if just for a visit. things have changed on the waterfront, yet remains a lovely place to visit.
Great place to walk around with the kids whether waiting to hop on a your or find a ore to eat.
Great restaurants and stores Fun place to go.
We enjoyed the waterfront everyday we were here in some capacity.
Lots to see and do. Great little gems on the water front for shopping or just having a seat and watch the boats and people go by.
Great place hopefully more people will be able to visit soon. Have not been here for 2 years. Great to be back!
