Great little museum. Love how the city has made it free, and it seems to have changed sense last time I was there. Majority of the items have been donated from local's. Making it really about the town and it people.

I've never been, which is unfortunate. We were blown away. We took our 16 month old son, and spent over two hours doing the indoor and outdoor scavenger hunts. Was actually a lot of fun! The amount of local history is incredible, even not being from here I left feeling a sense of pride. Highly recommend to anyone who lives in the area.

Great outdoor replicas bygone era in buildings and very interesting indoor displays. Both inside and outside are rich with history and information!

Firstly, the Google direction to the place was wrong. But, we got to the place alright and there is a short walk to the quiet museum. Loved the taxidermy animal displays and especially the dinosaur fossil. I totally didn't expect it. The models created of coffee shops, cabins etc were informative and some were also fascinating because they're interactive. The Heritage Village is also fun to walk around and see with friends or family.

Easily the best part of Grande Prairie. Large museum for a small urban centre, and very comprehensive with plenty of exhibits. Historical village is also very well done. Hours are extended relative to most museums, and all exhibits are free.

Great place to take the kids. Scavenger hunts of many levels. Replica of old houses, businesses and school. They also add sound effects in some of the buildings including the sound of chalk writing on the board in the school room....Comes across haunted ... But that's just me my kids didn't notice.

I was in GP for work and had time to kill and basically stumbled across this place. This museum is packed full of all kinds of neat things. Definitely worth a visit.
