Went to the museum today and they had family day. It was lots of fun and we were able to wonder the musem. I highly recommend going to the museum dont let the quick ID check scare you away.

(Translated) 360 adrenaline, captain spaghetti and marco paquetti. Very grateful for the advice and treatment on board. The little one got over his fear very quickly and we had a great time. From what I can tell it's an excellent museum. There is ample parking, and it is well put together. It's on the naval base so you will need some form of valid photo ID to present at the gate. To enter it is not the first gate near the tracks but the one farther down Admiral. If you are LGBTQ+, or otherwise not cisgender or straight presenting, expect or at least be prepared to be refused entry by an elderly comssionaire at the gate. There is no valid identification, be it a canadian passport, domestic driver's license or vaccine card he will accept. I'd strongly advise not even visiting to avoid the trouble. I watched it happen with my own eyes and could not stomach the museum after the display.

Really neat, realistic models and artifacts. Employees / tour guides are extremely knowledgeable and have lots of info to share. Would not recommend for large groups as there is a lot to see in a rather tight space. Although there is a play area for children, I would not bring children on the tour, it can be boring for them and there is lots of displays they will be wanting to touch

For anyone interest in military history. Bit of a challenge to find, keep asking around when you get close. Pass through a guarded gate to enter the Navel base.

This little museum is definitely worth a visit. It covers the history and heritage of the naval presence on Canada's West Coast and of the military on Southern Vancouver Island. The museum traces the ups – and downs – of the Canadian Navy with a series of exhibits, from the Navy's formation in 1910, through the turbulence of two World Wars, the conflict in Korea, and beyond. The museum itself is housed in a heritage building at the Naden Naval Base in Esquimalt and a visit also gives you a chance to see some of this historic Royal Canadian Naval Base up close.
