Very confusing place to visit... the employees were rude and did not like us wandering around checking out history...be sure to know what youre exactly looking for so you dont get frowned upon. Improve the customer service aspect and might feel more welcoming.

Dustin Bajer

You really have to go inside to appreciate the beauty of this facility. It's almost as if they built a separate building to hold the City's archives inside. The archives are amazing and extensive. The staff is fantastic as was able to help be research the history of the 1912 home I opened at the time. With their help, I walked away with building permits, fire maps, old articles, and a list of every person that lived in the home since it was built.

The Prince of Wales Armoury is an early twentieth-century, two-storey, rectangular brick building, located on a parcel of 0.96 hectares. Prince of Wales Armouries is an ideal venue for any occasion - wedding ceremonies, socials, business conferences, lectures and retreats. Prince of Wales Armouries is a massive, brick and sandstone structure, with distinctive corner towers, evocative of medieval castle

Adib Kaddoura

This is of the most gorgeous buildings in edmonton. A beautiful jewel

Adam Northey

Good place to see and interesting place too

alok negi

Beautiful place, amazing n helpful staff

Although it's kinda hard to get to by car, this is one of Edmonton's best little secrets. The city's expansive archives as well as a few other historical resources (Like the Loyal Edmonton Regiment Museum) are all concentrated here. Definitely worth a visit if you need to do historical research, or even just to check out the museums and the many events held here throughout the year. Beautifully modernized interior too- it's like a building within a building.

The group at the Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre was terrific! They waved the fee for the men's recovery group that I brought in, and still provided a tour from a very knowledgeable volunteer. Visiting the centre was very enjoyable & didn't take long to get through. The men were like little kids when they got to try on all the different war-themed outfits!

I used to spend a lot of time here when a club I belonged to was stationed in the Armouries. One star off because you can't stand on the turrets and pretend to scream at trebuchets.

Don't know if it's good or bad but the floors are creepy. If it's a historical site then they should still be able to fix the floors and keep it to historical guidelines.

Always an educational & thought provoking visit, the Armoury is actually a building inside a building - replete with arrow slits, balustrades and an "air moat" inside the fort between the outside and the armoury, this historic building also houses the Edmonton City Archives, the Edmonton Telephone Museum, the Edmonton Arts Council, travelling art exhibits as well as on site information about the role of the building and Canadian military during active usage. Accessibility is great in the main areas, with a long, wide gentle ramp leading into the building - but falls off in side hallways for some of the offices and bathrooms due to stairs or huge heavy doors or narrow corridors. Much of the building is navigable with a wide rollator, and a powered chair should be able to access a portion of the building. Unfortunately, due to the age & historic nature, retrofits to increase ease of use are minor and leaves many unable to explore this piece of Canadian history. Expect groups on tours, particularly schoolchildren. Transit is nearby but still a distance despite the LRT tracks being so close, this is a drive or walk a ways sort of place to visit.
