For a small museum they do a pretty decent job. Doesn't take long to get through, staff is helpful and passionate about the exhibits, parking is a bit tight. Overall a nice location.

Good descriptions, cool aircraft and a nice location.

Excellent museum. If war time and/or flight history is of interest to you then you will enjoy this place. By donation. Front desk gentleman was extremely friendly and helpful. He was more than happy to answer all of my questions. There is also an extensive research library there. Plus various cool aircraft to view outside on the museum grounds and just down the road at the hangar.

Definitely worth a visit! Lots to learn about Canadian participation in the air wars of the 20th century. Special exhibit on the Aleutian Campaign to retake the islands from the Japanese. I had not heard of that part of the war.

Nice place if you love Air Force and interested in history

An excellent and very informative museum. I always recommend new people to the valley or visitors to check it out.

Crazy!! To be seen

Great museum, we visit every year. The exhibits are being updated all the time, ask at the front what's new!

Great with free admittance

So nice, Friendly staff, lot of historical exhibits, entry on Donation

Very good exhibits.

Interesting facts and well maintained

Clean location, friendly knowledgable staff.

What an incredibly educational place. So well laid out and comprehensive starting from WWI on. I was instantly in tears reading about the daring and courageous First World War Canadian pilots, like Billy Bishop, in their relatively recently-invented airplanes. There are several model planes hung overhead. Also uniforms, weapons, medals, maps and history. Plus the hosts are knowledgeable and welcoming. A friendly must see.

The Museum is a hidden gem. Especially the POW diary. I could have spent hours here.

Very educational. Learned a number of items that I was not aware of from our military past. Well laid out.

Great historical place lots to see and learn

Library is by donation. Has a library as well.

Amazing little museum. One of the best museums of any kind in British Columbia! Great, informative display with many pictures, artifacts and models.

I was surprised by the exceptionally high quality of this museum, and wish that I would have had much more time there. The 2 staff members that I talked to were extremely helpful - obviously passionate about what they do. Parking is tight, but I was able to easily park my motorhome a couple of blocks away.

So amazing place I personally ???????????? ????????????????

Very interesting

A totally awesome museum! We thought that we would be able to see it all in one hour, but we were so wrong! It would have taken us all day to see all these great displays, models, and WW2 videos. I hope to return soon to see the rest of it!

A great museum and friendly staff. Highly recommend this museum for Comox tourists!

It's just awesome how they have preserved and presented Canada's Airforce history. Well worth seeing.

Great history! So proud of our service men!

Real military stuff inside. Old, but educational. They even allow you to wear a helmet and turn on miniature airport lights and runways. I found lots of information about Canadian air force, aviation, missions, equipment, etc. If it is not enough, they have tiny library there. And they offer flight simulator game to children and (if you nice enough) adults. You could also buy some memorabilia in a little shop.

Good museum with lots of great information and things to see.

Enjoyed the displays!

This place was really cool and shows a lot of Canada's history with the air force and it also had a gift shop and library.

Some good history of the area and local people involved

Fantastic museum!

Very detailed museum full of Canada's aviation history! Be sure to check out the static airplanes outside as well!

This was a great little visit that shows the history of the RCAF from its inception in First World War to its present day activities. The staff are lovely and they also have a great selection of memorabilia to take home. Good stop in a location that has great historical significance. Pro Tip: Check their opening and closing hours!

Amazing! Very well curated and maintained! Highly recommended for all Canadians and tourists. My young kids loved it!

Great museum

Interesting place...Only saw the outside planes, which are free to have a look at...Try It :o)

Learn more about Canada's aviation history in a fun-family-oriented environment. Great volunteers staff this Comox treasure.

Was fantastic, tons of information, admission is by donation and the displays were amazing

An absolutely amazing experience, they had a wonderful layout for all ages. My 2 year old son had an amazing time as well as myself. It should be used more for teaching purposes with schools.

(Translated) A must stop for great memories .. A beautiful museum. (Original) A must stop for great memories.. Un très beau musé.

Fun for the hole family

Lot of cool stuff. But a hat ????????

A very nice small museum packed with stuff to see. Friendly staff with limited parking. There is more parking across the street at the canex. This museum is also part of the planes park 500metres down the road go to the museum first. The staff will tell you about the other park.

Great museum of the Royal Canadian Armed Forces

For a local museum it is very nicely laid out I liked the parts that let you get hands on. Opportunity for pictures and some historic artifacts great place to visit.

Beautiful

Descriptive presentations with pictures and some artifacts. Very interesting, extremely well informed staff answered all of my questions

Awesome place to check out Local Air Force history.

Fun and educational.

The Comox Air Force Museum contains not only military artifacts dating back to World War One but educates the visitor about the history of CFB Comox from World War Two through to the present day. There is also a static display of Canadian military aircraft in the museums air park.

Very nice RCAF and RAF collection spanning WWI, WWII through present. Admission is by donation and includes a walk of static museum aircraft. Volunteers are very friendly too!

Really beautiful and lovely atmosphere

Enjoyed the visit to the airbase and museum. Friendly staff and lots of great information. There is certainly hours of things to learn inside and lots of interesting tidbits. I had no idea that Canada had been bombed by the Japanese on WWII. What!? The walk through the planes on exhibit was also neat. Really enjoyed our time. Thank you.

Wonderful museum about the RAF, SAR, and RCAF, with friendly staff, I loved it

Beautiful museum, lots of really great information and helpful staff.

Nice place. Well worth the stop, if your a military buff.

cool place to visit before a flight

(Translated) Excellent place for children, very attentive staff (Original) Excelente lugar para los niños, el personal muy atento

Took our kids hockey team (7-8 year olds) and they had a great time. Lots of stuff to see and touch. All us parents were impressed that there was so much in a relatively small space.

A valuable and educational facility displaying and explaining the history of aviation and military on Canada's west coast. Be prepared for a lot of reading.

Aviation buffs are sure to spend some time here. Adjacent to CFB Comox and the airport ( YQQ). Knowledgable air force members can answer any question, the library is exhaustive and as a huge bonus, former military and search & rescue aircraft available are available to your.

Actually, I was taking a picture of the Voodoo with the moon in the background. The museum has a great exhibit and is well worth the time.

Well worth a visit

Drive and park the car.. get out and stare at the plane's and use your imagination to fly away. Great views of the mountains and not far to get to. Great place to chill !!

Fantastic, in depth, history of Canada, the RCAF, and Comox. Very well laid out and maintained and deserving of more than just one visit. Friendly and knowledgable volunteers who are happy to help.

Very well laid out, and educational.

Awesome museum with tons of information and artifacts to look at. My 2 young kids loved it and are still talking about it. The outdoor plane park was a big hit with the kids as well.

Lots of displays and educational information about the Canadian Armed Forces and its history. Lots of military models that were donated. A Voodoo fighter is dusplayed outside. Will see the airplane park down the road tomorrow.

So worth stopping in to see this museum! So much to see.

This is an excellent, out of the way museum well worth a visit! Displays inside gives a comprehensive history of the RCAF and the squadrons if CFB Comox. Touches on many ways that RCAF and (originally) military technology have impacted civilian life. Outside displays of historical RCAF aircraft. Across from the local Canex shop. Allow two hours for a good visit. Entry by donation.

We have found that every museum has a single piece of treasure that makes it unique in the world. This museum is such a place. I’m not going to tell you what they have but lets say a movie was made about it. I never expected to find it in a little Comox Museum.

Nice staff and nice setup

A must see. Staff is very friendly. Entrance is by donation. They have such interesting pieces of history. You can also check out the planes and jets just down the roads. Kids will love it!

So much interesting history! They weave together the big stories of WW1 to today into how Comox played key roles in those events. Very interesting, very well done.

I especially like the gift shop's selection of memorabilia.

Excellent place friendly staff.

Well worth the visit

Well documented display of rcaf memorabilia. Some nice old planes.

Very well done! The volunteers are friendly and welcoming. There were some very interesting pieces of history here including the journal of a POW and a picture book of a nurse who had her patients write her something or draw her a picture. We spent a fair amount of time here and it was very interesting!

Amazing place

This is one of the best museums on Vancouver Island and is worth a visit. I could have easily spent 3 or 4 hours here, but my family dragged me away after an hour. There is just a ton of information and fine detail in the various exhibits, and the reading room has a lot of interesting books that are very hard to find. My favourite parts of the museum included the Argus display, as well as the section that talked about the Voodoo and the nuclear-tipped Genie missile -- In particular the museum showed that Canada was ready to engage in "nuclear combat, toe to toe with the Russkies." CFB Comox was home to a variety of nuclear interceptors, including the Voodoo, which was armed with the nuclear-tipped Genie missile.

Such a huge amount of history in a small place. Great exhibits, very informative, and artifacts you can look at and know, someone used that item x amount of years ago. The curators are awesome, gift shop is very reasonably priced and has some amazing things. If you have an interest in Canada's part in the 2 world wars and todays SAR and ASW roles, you need to go here.

Great place to learn about airforce history

As a brat of 66 years, it was a wonderful to see all the things I grew up with that are distinct to the CAF Air Wing. Thanks so much for the experience today!

Great little museum for aviation and history buffs.

Great little museum with so much history that kids need to learn. Friendly, veteran staff.

This place is great if you are looking for some history on the canadian air force

(Translated) Very interesting (Original) Muito interessante

Please take the time to look at the Canadian Air Force museum. They start at the beginning and end up with the current aircraft. The staff are more than willing to help out. The admission is by donation. They also have great merch.

Excellent museum and staff. We got there late in the day and had to leave before we were finished walking through and asking questions. We'll be going back soon, this time with a group we're making arrangements for.

An amazing window to the past as seen through the history of the Royal Canadian Air Force and the important role they played in training and of the defence of Canada's west coast.

Very well laid out and in detail of the experiences of our war heroes! No charge, just donations to help out our veterans! Need more time to see it all.

Lots of info on Canada's involvement in conflicts around the world, and about they're aircraft.

Good little museum to bring your kids. Make sure you drive down the road to the park to watch some real retired planes.

Very interesting and well written display, lots to see if you're interested in airplanes.

Very nice.

We enjoyed our visit to the Comox Air Force Museum.

Lots of history, great volunteers

It's a wonderful place to spend a few hour's browsing, friendly volunteer staff, interesting displays, even a library with packed with books on aviation history. Entrance fee is donations. Excellent selection of aviation related gifts at the gift shop. Hope to visit it again soon.

I should have allowed more time and consequently would recommend at least 2 hrs for the museum portion alone. The staff are very friendly, I'll be going back.

Enjoyed this gem of a museum. There are fascinating models, real example pieces from different eras, and great information about the birth and development of military aviation in Canada. Wish I could have spent several hours there! Payment by donation, and a nice little gift shop where I picked up a mug and purchased another as a gift for a friend. Informative, well laid out, and a good spot to visit in Comox. We stopped to get photos in the ejection seat from a CF-101 Voodoo. I had never heard of the Japanese balloons bombs before, and though I knew about Billy Bishop (who shot down the Red Baron) I was unfamiliar with our other ace pilots...who you can learn about at this great museum!

Such an interesting museum. Great info on local people involved in the wars. Well done!

My favorite place in the Valley. The history of the War The name " Aurora" is my Mother Aurora Bu°lquirin Billiones Naylor De Leon A true unhidden artifacts of every reason about the War. Mt. Washington U. S. A. Love: Prophet Ramona

Great museum. Loved the stories.

Small museum but lots of great exhibits and a nice small static display too

Awesome exhibits and military history.

Nice presentation of the air force history inside the museum, informative text that's easy to follow. The planes parked down the road outdoors are fun to visit on weather friendly days.

Lots of information, clearly presented, about the early days of the Canadian Air Force, with emphasis on the activities of the Comox base.

Interesting, informative; new exhibits on the way.

Amazing history of planes, helicopters, our involvement in the war. Host is an older gentleman that is so knowledgeable. Great models of aircraft, t-shirts and hats at very fair prices.

Very interesting museum detailing the RCAF on the West Coast. Great exhibits and friendly knowledgeable staff.

Was a great place to learn a bit about our air force and some of the missions our country has been a part of!

Great place to visit, bring your kids or grandchildren

Very well done clean and bright a lot of history regarding the rcaf

Very well done displays about Canadian Air Force History with a focus on the Comox Air Base.

Very informative. Brought back memories of my brother who was in RCAF for over 30+ years. :)

WW II display very nicely displayed. Didn't know that a POW, that the movie, "The Great Escape" was based, resides in the Comox Valley.

Interesting

Great little museum with great displays. Knowledgable staff and an awesome airpark with lots of static displays of historic RCAF aircraft.

Very cool way to.soend an hour or two. Friendly volunteers that are always keen to answer questions

Very interesting!

Fantastic experience with kind, knowledgeable and interactive staff. Amazing that they fit so much interesting history into that small space!

Really nice laundry :)

Nice place for kids ! And adults too! Its really nice to see real planes ! And it's free!!!

This is a must visit if you come to Comox! Staff were super friendly and the place gave you the appreciation to our Canadian armed force. Admission by donation and have great selection of little gifts and t shirts too. Great for all ages

Great location, in a decent building. Displays are interesting but not eye-catching. Still, well worth the walk-through. Souvenirs are lacking.

Excellent selection of displays, historic photos, many going back to WW1 and 2. The museum is staffed by volunteers and is funded by individual donations at the entrance. Of particular interest to someone living on Vancouver Island. There are photos indicating various bases on the west coast in WW 2.

A very cool museum.

Very very interesting!!!
