Great place to learn about the reality of the WWII. How 6 million Jews were massacred because rhey were Jews and a minority.

A very humbling expérience. The museum is very well thought out and for the price of a latte ans a croissant you can learn about what lead to, conspired to bring forth, created, executed and tried to hide one of the most shameful events in recent history. They have a companion app with troves of additional informatin and you can use one of their iPads if you dont own a mobile device.

(Translated) Museum of modest size but very well thought out. The documentation is abundant as well as the objects (religious and personal), indelible traces of the suffering inflicted on the Jewish people. 1h30 of total immersion in the heart of the history of the Shoah make this visit a difficult and upsetting journey. (Translated) The content of the museum; photos, texts, objects and videos are very interesting. We have the perspective of their lives and what it was like to be there. However .. the texts are too high. If you read in English, it is at eye level and ideal, if you read in French it is too high. The walls of photos, those at the top, we break our necks to read and watch and at the bottom, we put ourselves in a snowman to read the descriptive text as well as the photo. Otherwise, thank you for this beautiful museum.

A very good comprehensive overview of the Holocaust that follows a logical timeline approach. The free iPads with videos make up for the slightly dated feel of the panels, and there’s enough detail to cover the basics while inviting further study of specific topics beyond the museum (e.g. the Danish resistance). I would have liked to learn a little more about Canada’s history (anti-semitism, Jewish immigration and life, etc) before, during, and after the Holocaust, and Montreal as a home for many survivors. It’s great that they keep the price of admission so low.

(Translated) We are going there this Sunday when the museums are free. If I had to pay, I would have been disappointed. And yet the holocaust is a part of history that has always interested me. But the museum is a bit poorly designed. You arrive the walls are plastered with text and some object in the window. It lacks a bit of structure. You read a bit, you arrive at the next station and you run out of time. Difficult to explain. But I will appreciate a structure better than the present one. But still a lot of interesting stuff so I didn't know it existed. This is the best place to learn about Jewish history, culture and specially the inhuman behaviour that Jewish people faced during Hitler years. Don't come here in a rush, the story needs time to be told.. There are two levels and you might want to spend a bit more time on a second, although it has a very sad atmosphere. Great thing is: it is open until 21:00, when all other museums are long closed, so you can come here in the evening taking a metro and walking a couple of minutes from the station. I would suggest to spend 2 hours in this place, there is a lot to see, hear, read.. and then maybe just sit a bit and absorb.

Note: The Museum is closed on Saturday. It was a great learning experience. The video interviews gave it a human perspective. I learned that the Warsaw Ghetto was not the only one. There were many ghettos all over Europe. So many people died from hunger and sickness. I gain a new understanding about the suffering of those brave people. Also about how evil was the Third Reich.

This museum is extremely well presented. Many museums are hard to navigate or overwhelming, but not here. It is very clear the order to read everything in; there's a general blurb for each "section" and then it's broken down into pictures and more specific information for each event. Of course, it is very poignant and I learned a lot. I was also surprised at how low the cost is. This museum is absolutely worth a visit.

It is two floors, the free audio guides are on mini ipads and that is nice. The explanations are fun to read. Nothing is confusing. It is not an emotional roller coaster, it is more academic when discussing how a an elected leader lead to genocide.

(Translated) Very good and documented Holocaust museum. It is small, so you have to come early, to see everything quietly. Bring a piece of identity with photo to access the tablets with the guided tour, which give a lot of additional information. Absolutely necessary and recommended visit. Absolutamente necesaria y recomendada visita.

(Translated) The museum tells a very concise story of events but it is true that compared to museums in Europe, there is less material. It is all the same well done and it takes at least 2 hours, in my opinion, to take your time to browse the museum. When we arrived, there was 1h30 left and I took the trouble to ask the person who sold us the tickets if we would have time to do everything. She told us yes ... but after charging us for the tickets, she said that with "the little time" we had left, we couldn't have the iPad as a guide ... that would have Nice to know that before you swipe the credit card! Indeed, we missed 30 minutes at 1:00 am to finish the visit quietly and we were forced to leave at 4:00 pm sharp ... in short, plan at least 2:30 without rush, no less.

Very moving for adults, but hard for our 9 year old to engage. She was interested, but the volume of written text was geared more to older ages.

(Translated) A particularly interesting museum insofar as it gives us information on the Jewish religion, on the Shoah ... In addition, there is a variety of documents such as videos made by Jewish survivors, texts, objects used by the Jews during the Second World War ... However, the clientele is to be reviewed. A gentleman who does not know politeness (a hello ...) and a lady who does not speak a word in French.

Very informative museum. It was well layed out, the pieves from the museum appeared to authentic. The only thing that I can possibly complain about is that was a lot of reading. There were a few videos to break up the reading. However, some overhead narrative would be helpful or some more hands on exhibits would be great too. Overall, it was an amazing museum and great experience. We are so glad we came.

Its smaller than what I expected. Be prepared to do lots of reading. Make sure you have at least 1.5 hours to read and listen to some videos of holocaust survivors internviews. Its informative but I just expected more. My family have good handle with this part of history so for us its not worth it to visit this museum as we already knew most of what we read.

The tablets are great to help explain more info on the items, especially if there are people surrounding the displays. My husband and I were there for hours and read every single thing. Expect to stay at least 2 or 3 hours if you take in all the information. Very heavy on the heart but important to discuss.
