Average Rating:

DESCRIPTION

Here you will be able to see all the opinions of people like you who use the products and services of Railway Society of Newfoundland (Museum) in the area close to Corner Brook (Canada).

Right now the business has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 and that score was based on 114 reviews.

You may have noticed that the average score it has is virtually the highest, and it is founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we can conclude that the evaluation is quite credible. If people have bothered to leave their score when they are pleased with the service, it works.

You know that we don't usually bother to set reviews when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

This Museum corresponds to the category of Tourist attraction.

Got here right early and they don't open till Ten Am. Love these old locomotives, climbing on to some of these railcars I thought to myself the number of men a d hours they worked on these trains is Incredible.

A cool site to visit when you're in the town of Corner Brook. You can view the history of the trains and the rail tracks. A nice place to stop by for a visit for the family and get inside some very old trains. Quite historical and it's a museum. Would recommend for a family for sure.

I love museums where things aren't so perfect and you can still touch things. There's enough to see without taking a lot of time. Half an hour is enough to feel like you've had a decent experience. For $3 admission, you are made a member of the Railway Society of Newfoundland. We appreciated the staff giving us a photo of a faux ceremony where we officially became members. Kind of like being screeched in, but without drinking anything or kissing a train.

The train (and snowplow Loco) is a very cool piece of Newfoundland history! The train was being repainted when we dropped by and so we couldn’t get in, but still an excellent use of our time in Corner Brook.

I visit this place in the off-season just to get some pictures. I know during the summer they do have tours of the inside of the train, and history about it. Never been on this tour so I can't comment on it. And I don't know, if there's a fee or not. I'm thinking it's a donation type tour.

Wilkins Winsor

Nice to see the old Train. One thing you will notice is that the seats on the train are much more comfy than anything on airplanes these days. My young son really enjoyed the walk through and getting in all the seats.

A great place to experience some NL history. The Newfie Bullet is on display, as well as hands on tours of the passenger rail cars. Our family range in age from 14 to 57, and everyone enjoyed the visit.

Tony Scott

Visited many years ago, and stopped by again with my son so he could learn a little about trains in NL. The tour was offered by a student who did a fantastic job. A very inexpensive tour.

Place didn't open until 10 website said 8... Even then workers didn't show until 1015.

A lovely little museum of the history, or a portion thereof, of the railway in Newfoundland. Our rails were torn up years ago but the rich history of the railway shouldn't be lost to time. The staff were young, but knowledgeable of the trains and their history. Sadly, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, there are no guided tours this summer, but the staff is happy to answer any questions you may have.

The trains were very interesting to walk through and get a glimpse to what they were like in their heyday. It would have been nice if the young staff tour guide knew and spoke of the historical facts to answer our questions and make it a little more immersive. Otherwise, it was well represented with the information plaques and displays. All in all, would go again!

Unfortunately it was closed when I was there, looked interesting from outside.
