DESCRIPTION

Here you have the reviews of real people like you who buy the products of Michigan Transit Museum (Museum) around Chatham-Kent territory (Canada).

At the moment this firm gets a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 and the rating is based on 64 reviews.

You must have seen that its rating is practically the highest, and it's founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the assessment is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to leave their review when they've done well with the service, is that it works.

As you know, we don't usually bother to write scores when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...

This Museum is classified in the category of Rail museum.

History rocks

Scott Soucy

Interesting little museum, learned a few things about Thomas Edison. The train ride is off site, but not too far away.

TRAIN RIDES NOT AT THIS ADDRESS. The train departs on Joy Boulevard get the correct address!

US and Canada Railfan 2103

As a railfan, I really enjoy this place as it has a lot of cool artifacts and great staff. It's neat that it used to be a station so you can freely watch trains throughout your visit. There's also a train ride around 5 minutes away that rides on what once was a spur to the airport.

It was a nice experience

Kevin Perry

Kind of small but nice staff with historical knowledge with displays. They may have a train ride on a nearby track that stops at a park then continues on to Selfridge Air National Base. They are usually one of the stops during holiday celebrations.

Peri Christensen

A transit and rail museum right in our metro area that preserves local transit history as well as broader rail history; that offers train rides, some with holiday themes, and that offers a membership opportunity to be involved in operating the museum and the trains.

Celeste E

My toddler loved riding the train, wishes it went a little further.

Brian Van Bibber

A lot of history. The depot was built for the Chicago, Detroit & Canada Grand Trunk Junction Railway to serve the growing village and county seat of Macomb County: Mount Clemens. In 1862 at this depot, young Thomas Edison saved the station agent's small child from certain death. The child was on the tracks in the path of a rolling box car. In appreciation, the station agent taught Tom telegraphy. And so began Edison's short career in railroading. Some of his earliest inventions were based on what he learned at the station. The depot continued in railroad use until 1980, when the City of Mount Clemens bought it and leased it to Michigan Transit Museum for use as its headquarters and museum. The depot is now restored to its 1900 appearance. Inside are exhibits surrounding railroading of that era. Also inside is a railroad gift shop. There's quite a selection of items available that make great gifts or conversation pieces. As a reminder, the train depot is unfortunately NOT the location from which the Trolley-Train departs.

Sandy Hensley

Disappointing because some of the tracks were out of commission so our 45 minute ride was cur to 35 minutes. So we had to stop and then go backwards. Was not told this until we were on the train. I would have liked a discount or the opportunity to reschedule.

Jay Hunger

Elizabeth Younger

The trick or trear train ride was interesting & relaxing. The young conductor was personable. You could tell that he loved to be a volunteer conductor. Much better than time spent just sitting in front of a screen. Park was also nice, & easy to find.

Samantha Baker

It has so much history! Plus it has a new caboose that was owned by Henry Ford!
