You have all the feddbacks of real people who consumed the services of Château Dufresne (Museum) in Châteauguay (Canada).
At this moment this firm receives a score of 4.4 stars over 5 and this rating was based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an reviews average is very positive, and it's founded on a very high number of reviews, so we can conclude that the valuation is very faithful. If people have bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to set tatings when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Museum belongs to the category of Museum.

Customer service so-so
My fiancé and I reserved one hour at the Musée Dufresne-Nincheri for a photography session. When we went in the week before to pay, I asked a girl working there if we could go see where the pictures can be taken. She said "Any room that doesn't have any furniture." I later found out that the rooms that had furniture in them were blocked off by a glass panel, making it impossible to take pictures in those rooms either way. And most of the furniture exposed to the public had “Do not touch signs” which we respected. Keeping in mind that this is an engagement photoshoot that I hired a professional photographer for and I'm paying 150$ per hour + 30$ "encadrement" + tax to use the space, you could imagine that we are not teenagers willing to break or bend rules. During the first half an hour to 45 minutes, we were in one of the rooms, unsupervised. So I don't know what I'm paying the 30$ "encadrement" for. We were taking pictures by the marble staircase when Mme Manon Lapointe comes in and tells our photographer that he is too close to a statue (it did not have any do not touch signs on it) and basically telling him how to do his job. She would interrupt our session every couple of seconds to complain about what our photographer is doing. Essentially we were wasting time in every sense of the word due to her constant harassment. She was very rude, but was smiling to the other guests who probably had not even paid half of what I was paying to be there, and much younger than we were. When she told us that our time is up, I told her we will reserve the space for another half an hour. Mme Lapointe came back to make her snotty comments and kept checking her watch every couple of minutes and giving a stressful environment to us and our professional photographer. Later that day, we saw on Instagram a bride was literally lying on the railings AND another man TOUCHING the statue that our photographer was allegedly “too close” to. Why are we being treated more poorly than guests who aren’t charged by the hour? Where was Mme Lapointe, the security guard? When our half an hour was up, and we went back downstairs to pay for 30 minutes of extra rent, she had charged me an extra 30$ for encadrement in addition to 75$ (half of 150$). I refused to pay the extra 30$. She claimed to have hired people, but nobody was around. My fiancé said "If you don't accept, then call my lawyer." To which Mme Lapointe said "Oh vous autres la" Eventually Mme Lapointe accepted reducing our price by the 30$ and made very rude comments saying "Je ne veux plus vous voir" and refused to give us her business card. All the while, throughout this entire conversation, Mme Lapointe kept interrupting when my fiancé was talking and kept defending herself saying she had explained to me "clearly" the procedure. I have no written document of anything clear or precise. I even had to make her photocopy the initial invoice. On our original invoice, it is specified that I will pay 100$ if I wanted an extra hour to take pictures outside. No mention of the additional 30$ for "encadrement" whatever Mme Lapointe thinks that means. When she told me 75$ I handed her 75$ cash to which she said "On charge les taxes ici madame." I am an accountant, she doesn't need to educate me on taxes. Had she told me the correct amount owing 86.23$ right away I would have given it to her. I am not an idiot. When I asked for the invoice, she only gave me the receipt from the cash register, unlike the official invoice I received for the 150+30$ + tax. I had never been a victim of racism or verbal abuse until that day. Mme Lapointe's condescending attitude and unprofessionalism is completely and utterly unacceptable in the public service department. To add to my point, I had written the Musée Dufresne-Nincheri an email in English to which I received no response. But after a couple of months later, I wrote an email in French and got a reply right away. How can the Museum association of Montreal let someone so awful be in charge of a public place? Horrible experience, horrible woman.

(Translated) If you are really interested in the history of Montreal, and you like period houses with wood paneling, stained glass, painted walls, etc. this visit is worth it. The visit system with iPad seems interesting at first, but we quickly realize that it is not ideal. When we are a few in a room, the sound of 2 iPad at the same time is not great ... It would have been nice to put a few more information boards. Several rooms do not have (given the iPad, but as mentioned not great).
If you like any vintage decoration or family history, here is the right place to visit! Very beautiful!
The tour was much quicker than we thought…we did the whole thing in 30 mins. A lot of empty rooms but you could admire the mouldings and the ceilings. A few rooms had the original furniture and setting which was pretty cool.
Nice place... just miss water
(Translated) Very beautiful residence superbly restored. The guides are very interesting and knowledgeable. However, I would have liked a few additional posters here and there to explain more about the construction of the building and what was going on in the daily life of these people at the time. All in all a nice visit (Original) Très belle demeure superbement restaurée.

Interesting to visit a historical building and seeing how a wealthy family lived. They guided tour on the iPad was useful.
Amazing architecture; in superb condition inside. The brothers has rather different personalities, and that is squarely reflected in their tastes in design. A must to visit.
It always fascinated me these type of places, they speak aloud about history and a world evolving. I went on the first Sunday of a month so I didn't have to pay. If you have to pay, I think it's a little bit expensive for what it is. The building is incredible, but aside from some history about it at the beginning (in English and French) and about the shoe factory the family had at the end (only in French), there aren't explanations about the rooms.

Love if! Very interesting museum with the history of the surrounding area
(Translated) Nice little museum, unusual place in Montreal for an hour or two mini tour on a rainy day. At the museum level, there would be significant improvements to be made in the historical records. Constant confusion between the objects that belonged to the owner and those placed to only evoke an era (and sometimes others). In the same way, we add elements evoking the Maisonneuve city project (including a fictional model which is not identified as such) and pieces of art by contemporary artists having no connection with the museum! Ironically, this eclectic side of the museum refers to the same eclecticism of the Dufresne brothers of the time. In the end, it remains nice although still a museum in the making.

We arrived an hour before closing so there was no one in the house so it felt like we had a private tour. The house is incredible , I would suggest you get the audio tour so you can learn more about each room.
Explanations would have been helpful, but such a beautiful house!
Gorgeous mansion Interesting history about Dufresne family and their beautiful house. Each and every corner of the house are beautifully designed. There are paintings on the ceiling and on glass doors. Even radiators are so beautiful. Free parking in front of the entrance. You will get an electronic tab to guide you through the building. It has an audio description about each room (you can select English or French) Staff is really friendly. For anyone who like history and beautiful mansions this would be an ideal visit.

Beautiful home that must have been something to be able to live in! The incredible detail in the wood ceilings, velvet wall coverings, wood moldings, doors, etc. are absolutely gorgeous. If you appreciate beautiful architecture and lavish bourgeois style, I think you'll enjoy this château. The employees are also around as you tour to answer any questions you may have, but you're also supplied with an interactive touch-screen tablet with audio clips to guide you through as you make your way through the rooms on both sides of the château. Worth the visit!
Amazing architecture; in superb condition inside. The brothers has rather different personalities, and that is squarely reflected in their tastes in design. A must to visit. What a great restored mansion and tour, with tremendous depth of history and knowledge imparted by a very modern and high-tech electronic tablet that produces helpful/useful audio for each room on the tour. Best yet, on our September Wednesday morning we were just about the only guests in this house that is really off the beaten path in Montreal. However, it's literally next door to the Olympique Parc so you can make a half-day of it visiting both. if you're interested in learning about Montreal and the industrialsts that launched their modern economy around 1900, or if you're just a history buff on how the rich used to live, you must check out Ch. Dufresne !
I liked it but there was no tour. This could be because of covid ????♀️. Also the whole basement was filled with super interesting information, but my English friends couldn't follow since it wasn't bilingual. I had to translate.

A very nice place, the exhibits were very interesting. When I went the top floor was closed for renovations, but that didn't change my experience at all. It was interesting seeing the way the people in the house lived. They gave us iPads and headphones and we were connected to a sort of app that allows us to listen to the backstory of every room as we were in it without disturbing others.

This place is very beautiful and peaceful. I would recommend to visit. I have a good impression of this place. They offer you an audio tour. You could listen while you walk from one room to another. Not a lot of people, I would say no people. It was just me and my husband ???? We were in July and there was no air conditioner, but rooms were chill so it was not an issue. In some rooms there’s chairs so you could sit and listen to the audio guide.

Chateau Dufresne is a castle built around 100 years ago by two brothers. The architecture of the castle is symetric and since when it is pretty much like a mirror a part of it has furniture whereas the other part is empty this way you could admire the decoration of the past century as well as enjoy the architecture and the monument itself. The furniture is quite breathtaking and very rich as for the structure of the castle i would say it's classical. I think it's a must for people interested in decor, architecture and history to visit it while in Montreal

Super cool little museum. Worth checking out. Loved the architecture.
If you like any vintage decoration or family history, here is the right place to visit! Very beautiful!
Not much to see and very expensive. The rooms of the home were mostly empty, it would have been since to see more furniture and objects. The entrance was unclear (its around back). The English video provided on an iPad was well done.

(Translated) I fell in love with this mansion! If you are visiting Montreal you have to visit this Palace because it is an architectural Jewel, many decorative elements have been restored and although they are not the same as the original piece they replace they are equally beautiful. The details in this house are incredible. I wish I went when it wasn't so hot. I would have taken more time to really take it all in. The iPad guide is glitchy but still informative
Though it only looks like a large house from the outside, the interior was surprisingly more spacious and had many grand interior finishings that makes this place a "chateau". The wonderful ipad guided tour allowed visitors freedom to explore at their own place while providing wonderful insights into the two families that resided in this residence. Some of the rooms and locations in the museum were under renovation and I wasn't able to see everything but I would like to revisit again perhaps in the warmer season to get a fuller picture of this historic home.
(Translated) Nice place, but for now there is so much construction on the building, around and in the streets that it's a bit hard to find the place. Heritage is still well preserved, except the top floor. People in wheelchairs have access to all floors. I recommend going after work for a better experience. (Original) Bel endroit, mais pour l'instant il y a tellement de construction sur le bâtiment, autour et dans les rues que c'est un peu dur de trouver l'endroit. (Translated) A little-known pearl in the history of Montreal. The opportunity, in a short time, to explore an important era in our economic and social development. This is a very interesting and unique attraction in Montreal which not only charts the personal history of an important Francophone family but also has some incredible architecture. The price is perhaps a little steep considering a lot of the furniture is missing and the building is being renovated but the audioguide, which is actually on a tablet, is extremely informative and really adds to the experience. All in all I highly recommend visiting this hidden gem of Montreal as it very much reveals a different and little known side of the city.
