While smaller than most museums I've been to, the history contained in these walls is one you won't find anywhere else. Run by the Huron-Wendat people themselves, they tell their story. Both the audio guide and the tour guide were great and the restaurant was on par with some of the best I've ever been to. If you're going to be in Quebec or even just near by, this is a must see!

Touching place to visit. I liked the walk around the river with all the explanations on native Americans traditions. Would have hoped that tours do not close that early. We arrived at 2:45 and the last tour was already taking place so make sure you arrive early in the day. Otherwise very good place to visit and learn from

This museum is of great importance in the transmission of the history of North America and I recommend it. I also recommend the museum restaurant, La Traite, and ordering the sumptuous, tasty and unique plank "The La Traite Experience", I still can't believe how good it was! On a appris beaucoup sur l'histoire des huron-wendats à travers la très bonne visite guidée dans la salle des artefacts historiques et la superbe réplique d'une maison longue. Mon interêt pour ce peuple fascinant, que ne je connaissais peu, a augmenté considérablement grâce à cette expérience. Je suis triste qu'il reste si peu d'individus sur le contient mais heureux de voir que la culture perdure. Ce musée est d'une très grande importance dans la transmission de l'histoire de l'Amérique du Nord et je le recommande. Je recommande aussi le restaurant du musée, La Traite, et de commander la somptueuse, savoureuse et unique planche "L'expérience La Traite", je n'en reviens toujours pas à quel point c'était bon !

(Translated) I loved my visit to the museum a few years ago. We decided to visit the longhouse this year; it is super well rebuilt. HOWEVER, we were extremely disappointed with the guide. For a so-called experienced guide, it was not far from the worst I have had in the multiple archaeological / cultural sites in Quebec. Firstly, his tone, energy and language were in no way suitable for young people (half of the participants were minors). The facts presented were on the surface, fuzzy, blunt and burst. Even the explanation of the objects had errors, especially the fishing tools vs farming. Very Very disappointed with my experience, but great site and museum. (Original) J'ai adoré ma visite au musée il y a quelques années. Nous avons décidé de visiter la maison longue cette année ; elle est super bien reconstruite. PAR CONTRE, nous avons été extrêmement déçus de la guide. Pour une guide dite expérimentée, c'était pas loin de la pire que j'ai eu dans les multiples sites archéologiques/culturels autochtone du Québec. Premièrement son ton, énergie et langage était aucunement adapté pour les jeunes (la moitié des participants étaient mineurs). Les faits présentés étaient en surface, flous, peu nuancé et en rafale. Même l'explication des objets avaient des erreurs, notamment les outils de pêche vs l'agriculture. Très Très déçu de mon expérience, mais superbe site et musée.

Fantastic tour - definitely ask the front desk at the hotel for reservations to the English tour (need to sign up in advance) if you're not a local. The tour guide was thoughtful and humorous throughout the 2 hour presentation and took us through the museum, the canoe 'workshop', the long house as well as the town center and its landmarks. We could not have asked for a better introduction to the Wendat culture and I would highly recommend anyone who comes to Quebec City to do this tour. The gift shop and church were unfortunately closed for renovations but I hope to return one day to visit.
