Nice historic place on PE . Well worth a visit. The house is very nice and so are the grounds. Interesting gardens and nice walks.

T T

This is a really tourists spot. The house where Lucy Montgomery spent her youth and inspiration is there along with all the original house furniture and tools. It was pretty neat to notice how small their rooms where. We also took a stroll through the haunting woods. You can spend about an hour or so here. There were some activities for the kids such as Lego, and dress up as Anne. If you like heritage and crowds, this is the place for you!

R. D.Batho

The setting for Anne with an e was magic... Guided tour was free and delightful... Alot of love for the story and history

Arash Ghashghaei

The worst experience ever during my travel time. We reach there at 4:15 pm and it was closed, we came back earlly tomorrow but it was closed again. Open 10 am... it's a disaster for a traveler to waste time during his full visit days. They put a small paper on door and at the bottom the opening hours are written. Their management deserve zero star.

Bruce Kramer

My wife loved the place as she is a big fan of the book. Really amazing home and antiques. If you are visiting PEI, this is probably a must see place.

Angie Perez

Very nice house with old fashion things I really like the fact that it seats on a national park where you can just walk around and get some wild raspberries :) also there is a golf course there

Wade Watts

Great place with amazing history. My wife was so happy to see for herself the history of her favorite book. Accessibility outdoors to the attractions needs improvement otherwise 5 stars.

Jean-Claude Linossi

Really liked visiting the place. Very quiet, scenic and nice staff. Good historical learning experience.

Sweet Mandolyns (Urban Farm)

Beautiful place to visit with lots of historical value.

somkietr rojanasathit

Well preserved house with beautiful outside garden. You learn a lot from the new visitor center.

Piragal Thirugnanasundaram

Love what they have done with the newly constructed main entrance as well as the interpretive centre. In addition to the house tour the trails are beautiful and easy to hike if you are dressed for the weather.

Patricia Sideris

Nice tour...self guided. Grounds and bathrooms are clean. Map free, but no information pamphlet given with purchase of tickets. Gift shop $$$$. The do not stamp books with place of origin (Like Hemingway House) so of your a collector keep you receipts.

Robert Boyer

Anne of Green Gables is a show I watched as a kid every year when it played on CBC. My sister and I would watch the entire season, LIVE on TV before the convenience of PVR ;-) Two summers ago we went on vacation in PEI and of course we had to go visit the heritage. It was worth every penny and all the people in character do an amazing job of bring back to that period in time.

Holly Hohban

Great stop to learn about the story of Anne. This location includes a small museum, gift store, heritage house and hiking trails. on both sides however there is a golf course which takes a bit away from the magical feeling. Next time would pay the additional fees to have a guided tour or after hours tour as the limited staff were hard to ask questions too.

Erik Fraser

A beautiful tribute to Lucy MM. if you haven’t read Green Gables, like me, you’ll leave at least wishing you had. If you’ve read the books, like my husband, you’ll giggle like a school girl the whole time you’re there. You can’t really spend much more than an hour or two there. A brief hike and a tour through the house. Go early to beat the rush!

Justin Chang

My wife and her friends are big fans of "Anne of Green Gables." It's a must-read books for many Korean females students in their school girl days. Furthermore, the Japanese cartoon of the same name was hugely popular even to this day. For her and my daughter, it was a great experience as they have always dreamed of what PEI and Anne's house would actually look like. It's a must-visit fans for anyone with slightest knowledge of the book "Anne of Green Gables."

S Nomani

They have a new exhibit that explains very well through multimedia. If in PEI it’s a must see. It’s part of their heritage.

Neill M

The new parking lot is completed but there is a new building still under construction. A great piece of Canadian cultural history with scenic views and educational content! Many visitors did not bother visiting the location of her house as it is now an empty field that you are expected to pay entry to (This site belongs to the MacNeill family, cousins of Montgomery, and not Canada National Parks). Also be careful, it requires crossing a busy road with no crosswalk. There is also the option to visit the grave of author Lucy Maud Montgomery. Will entertain audiences of all ages!

Collin Richard

This is the best tribute to Anne of Green Gables that exists. If you need to "get your Anne on" I highly recommend this location.

Ren Corvus

Beautiful property/gardens, very informative interpreters with historical information, helpful staff. Lots of information on L.M. Montgomery, Author of Anne of Green Gables.

Stacey Reviews

Very cool. My only issue was that one of the trails was closed, which is a lot of the places from the book but other then that the House was really neat and the Haunted Woods trail was beautiful!

Juliana Kühnert

Amazing. A lot information about Lucy Montgomery. The Green Gables house is beautiful and well maintained. A gift shop with a lot for Green Gable lovers.

Gur Simar Deep Singh

The house in Anne of Green Gables, is based on this place. If you've read the book, you'd get to know and see the inspiration behind it. There's so information to read about LM Montgomery's life as well. This place is looked after by Parks Canada so no need to buy tickets if you have discovery pass. Definitely a must visit while in PEI.

Frank H

Very reasonably priced. Great visit for fans of the book.

Carlos Jacobs

Yes we tried to go here but on the road there the bridge was closed down for work but no signage till you nearly get there so very disappointed! But in the town of Victoria the place they train young people and older people to be Chefs and Waiting staff was a great find because the food was delicious and hot and the delicious desserts were great as well ❤️❤️and the drinks were good as we’ll

Diane Baker

Beautiful hiking trails that my dogs and I enjoyed. I've never read the books, but I've just started the first one!

Jorden Belanic

Interesting place, I didn't expect we would be able to tour the house when I arrived.

Anh Thu

Very nice place. Interesting for fan of ‘Anne of Green Gable’!

Cole Kash

The house was super cool to be able to walk through. Lots of period set pieces and knowledgeable staff. The trails will take you through some of the scenes in the books and is a nice hike to explore even if you don't care about the books lol . Lots of little info panels along the way as well.

Place is fun, kids always want to go here when we are in PEI. Cute little house, they use to have an actress dressed up as Anne that would walk around, kids were bummed when she wasn't there this trip.

Nathan Bertrand

It's just how you would imagine it from the books, what a gray place to have lived. They have a new building for memorabilia and washrooms as well

tom a

From Japan:) Beautiful place.... I strongly recommend you read "Anne" before you come here.

Naro Dulay

I drove here to show to my wife who loves to watch Anne of Green Gables, she was so disappointed, she was expecting a small village that should depict the story, but at least the on-site actors cheered her up.

Alison Herman

Memories of Anne of Green Gables, Road to Avonle. Lucy Mod mcgamry, A great part of Canadian Heritage. It was very interesting to see all the memorabilia of that time that time. Very interesting.

James Roger Dodd

Green Gables is worth checking out if you're in the Avonlea area of Prince Edward Island

larry cooper

Small site consisting primarily of a walk through the house and an associated gift shop. None the less, it is a great place to visit when it is not crowded in the mid-summer.

Martin Kane (Organist)

We were not expecting such a lovely time here. The National Parks have done an excellent job of the setup. Top for us was the characters from the books roaming about the site. They are all amazing actors and stay in character so well. We expected to do this and the museum in one day - we ended up spending all day here. Museum next time we visit Canada.

Joy Hoskin

Great spot to visit. The historic house tour was lovely. Busy spot. The Haunted Woods Path is a good half hour walk. A nature trail which inspired writings. The gardens are pretty. Take a picture on a stone bench by a tree or in the historic horse drawn carriage.

Keith Fennell

It's about as touristy as it gets. Good gift shop. Although the summer staff were just eyeing boys they like, chatting with their friends as I paid for my stuff. Lol

Savannah A

Literally the most overrated place in Canada. There is nothing enjoyable about being here whatsoever, it's just a boring museum with no interesting displays about an uninteresting topic.

Isabelle Richard

Very nice to walk in the trails if you like nature walks. You can visit the Anne of green gables house and the garden. Beautiful spot to visit.

JS G.

A Canadian dream come true. See the house and land that inspired the great Canadian story of Anne of Green Gables. The interior has been restored to look like the story. Live actors animate the site. Meet Anne, Diana and Miss Stacey. Hike on the lovers and haunted woods trails.

Jessica Fleury

This was a wonderful place to visit Its It's a good wholesome family outing They have really oriented it to make it an experience everyone could enjoy The house was put together really nicely, with quaint peices in each room pulling it together making it feel like you're part of the story Was glad I got to have this experience while I visited PEI

TJ Poole

A historical building on PEI dedicated to the story of Anne of Green Gables. The building is well kept and the guides are eager to assist with any questions you may have. The house is hidden behind the visitors center which recounts the story and provides a bit of background on its history and author. You'll typically find this to be one of the more crowded areas on the island in terms of touring but it's a good place to stop and visit.

Mike B

Very nice. Liked the part where Anne came out... see pic. Not too touristy, just enough to make you not want to go back. Go if you are in the neighborhood which would be a stretch as it is in PEI.

Christopher Bovey

I just visited today in the off season for the 1st time in 20 years, money hungry people have ruined this little historical place. I like that it's got the museum things to teach about it, but they should be away from the house.

Mark Hamilton

Absolutely wonderful. One of the high points of our trip to PEI. This lovingly preserved and maintained farm is idyllic and well worth your time if you're on the island. Don't miss the Lovers Lane stroll...it was beautiful. Friendly staff and easy access to the site. One area under construction as of June 2017, which appears to be a restaurant or something.

Robert Wolf

This a worthwhile visit for the complete life of author of Anne of Green Gables. Bits of her books and a full scale replica of the green house in the book. Fully decorated just as described in the book.

Thea Amelia Stevens

Honestly done much better than I anticipated. Very nostalgic from my childhood memories. My favorite part was the haunted woods walk and all the information along the way.

Clement Lau

The house and all the contents inside are very well preserved. My wife had an amazing time as she was a fan of the book. I thoroughly enjoyed the short hike with my wife through lovers lane

Big Kahuna

If you are a fan of the stories this will be a relaxing enjoyable time for you. My wife was a big fan growing up so we went and enjoyed a hike through the haunted forest there.

jaydon plett

Very peaceful walks along trails. Only wish the name of God was acknowledged better in all this beauty.

Matt Small

Relived some childhood memories whilr reading these books. Alos introduced my children to the world of Anne Shirley and she is unable to put down the book(s).

Letitia C

Parks Canada venue so take advantage of the Xplorers program if you have kids. This is the homestead that inspired Anne of Green Gables. It was originally owned by relatives of LM Montgomery. Historical house to walk through that has added touches to connect it to the story of Anne. Lovely grounds with two walking trails that are where parts of the books were inspired. There is a cafe (Starbucks) on site as well as ice cream and extensive Anne themed gift store. We.went for opening and wasn't too busy.

Liant Torres

Nice place to visit at least once if you enjoyed Anne of Green Gables

Claire Lemiski

An essential place to visit if you are in PEI. Beautiful grounds. I particularly enjoyed the walking trail through the Haunted Wood. The interpretive centre is undergoing a massive renovation. It was not too busy in October, but I imagine it could get quite crowded in the high season (summer).

Timmy Pham

Great place to visit to learn some behind the scenes of the Anne series! Recommended to go with the tour guide!

Arthur Ma

Book lovers' dream destination. The Haunted Wood walk, Lovers Lane and the Green Gable house are some of the highlights. Amazing gift shop.

Matt

While this is a rather small attraction it's very high quality and well done. Worth a stop if you are in PEI especially if you're a fan of the books.

Lindsey Ross

We had an excellent visit here! We had a friend in town who loved the Anne books, and she was so excited to visit this spot. We were really lucky that they stay open later into the shoulder season. The spot is clean, bright and very accessible. Lots of well laid out ramps and well marked steps. Washrooms were clean, accessible and well maintained. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable- We really loved the guide inside the house but everyone was very friendly. I think our favourite part was the wall of books, showing the different book covers and when they were published for different countries. Really interesting to see the image choices!

Anonymous Reviewer

A must-see if you’re visiting Cavendish. The guides were knowledgeable and told us everything we needed to know & answered our questions. The Lovers Lane trail was amazing, though a few mosquitos decided to make us their afternoon snack on the way. The heritage house was gorgeous and I was impressed that the organ actually belonged to the original family !! Would DEFINITELY come again ????????

Al

Really nice place, especially if you read the book. You can pay to have a guide, but the area is fairly small and easy to navigate. It is 7,80$ per adult, and it seems that dogs are welcome. A Starbucks will open in a matter of a few weeks a few meters from The Green Gable, which is surprising, they should have something local instead of Starbucks.

Anida Van der Spuy

Loved the museum and Green Gables , walking in the forest ...Anne came to life !!!

LANMAC

Ignore the dolls - this place isn’t creepy! We loved the house, they should legit rent it out as an Airbnb’s they’d make some serious coin. Anyways, we tried to find lovers land but we stumbled across “haunted walk” …not as romantic but hugged my boy just as much. Staff were great, vibes were amazing. Should she be cancelled? No I don’t think so

Harry Radford

What a wonderful experience walking through the home and your guide was so informative ❤????????❤

Sarina Shifteh

It is a very beautiful place and contains a calming nature. I really recommend going to this place. ????????

Shyla Tibando

As an Anne of Green Gables fan, since the age of 11, I found this much loved homestead connected me with Lucy Maud Montgomery’s imagination. You must take all the trails and wander through the garden. My romantic mind keeps returning to this place.

Monique Coulson

Having been a huge fan of this book series when I was a young girl it was quite powerful to walk through the museum here as well as Green Gables. They really have done a wonderful job in making the author's life and the story shine through.

Valfaye Shaffer

Enjoyed the history of Anne Green Gables. Gardens and house... beautiful

Karl Miranda

Very pretty location. The house is well maintained along with the gardens. Nostalgia at its best.

Ron Mosocco

We made it to Cavendish National Park, the home of author Lucy Montgomery of Anne of Green Gables fame. We also drove out of the Park down the road and found Lucy and her grandparents' graves as well. I thought the cute young red head in ponytails was an actor to have your photo with. She was there as a tourist. NOT! We run into her later in the woods, have a good laugh, her mother tells us we need a picture as a memory. Find out they are from Utah, they gave us ideas for our trip there later this year. Very nice day today. Also found time to light a couple candles for our parents in the local Catholic Church. It is a most beautiful place to visit and walk the grounds and tour the reconstructed home. Kindly click the like button if this review or my photos are useful.

Jessica Auyeung

If you are an Anne of Green Gables fan, this is a worthwhile visit. The info centre had bright beautiful displays and lots of information. There was even Lego to keep our kids entertained. We enjoyed walking through the home and the walks through the haunted woods and lovers lane.

David Liming

Nice short visit type place, just the one house and "lovers Lane". Watch out on lovers Lane for golf balls, one just missed hitting us in the head by an inch. Golf course right next to it.

Leah D

This is an idyllic landmark. Sadly we went on a very rainy day so we didn't get to walk the trails. It was still worth going in the rain!

Sanje Ab

Nice place to visit if you are a fan of Anne of Green gable or not. There are two small easy trails which is is around 1 km each. Tour in the old house is very interesting and the staff is amazing and extremely friendly. Museum is modern and wheel chair accessible too. Products in the Gift shop is reasonably priced. If you are going to the PEI ,Cavendish it is worth to visit.

Erin Lafleche

An adorable experience! The only reason it doesn't get full stars is that there's not much, but it's fairly priced to access the house and the trails. Overall, a good hour or so experience. I also recommend getting a bottle of raspberry cordial from the gift shop!

Montana Brigham

Really beautiful place! My husband and I where there is September for our Honeymoon and we really enjoyed ourselves. The house is absolutely adorable and the gardens are beautiful! Don't forget to stop in the barn shop for some raspberry cordial!

Deborah Shepherd

This is a wonderful place to visit and don't forget walking shoes, so you can experience all of the area. Here you can learn about the history behind the book or just as bit of history of the area if you know nothing about the book. The grounds are beautifully kept. However, this is then broken up with the neighboring golf course and major construction going on abutting this property. We arrived early and it was great. The parking lot only had a few cars. When we were leaving, just a few hours later, people were frantically looking for a place to park. Overall it was a good value as the admission fees are low, maybe two hours to see everything if you arrive early, and the place is beautiful.

Jeffery Excell

If you are a fan of Anne of Green Gables then this is a must see destination. You'll be reminded of the books/movies as you tour the house, walk down Lover's Lane and step into the Haunted Woods. The movie at the beginning is informational and the gift shop is nice if you want to pick up a few things to remember your visit by

Rhonda West

While the house is the real draw, the quiet walkways surrounding Green Gables really allow visitors to connect with Anne. The wooded walkways healed the pain in Anne’s heart, provided the scope for her imagination, and allowed her to trust people once again. People who know and love the Anne books will understand the power of these woods and will connect to Anne and Lucy’s stories through their exploration of these naturally beautiful areas.

Alannah Pelini

Entrance fee is a little expensive. Lots of information about the author that was interesting to read. The actors were amazing as their characters! My father tried to trick them by talking about Facebook but they didn't fall for it. Canada parks people were very knowledgeable about the property. Huge gift shop with just about anything you could want. The property is well maintained and looks like a perfect place for a picnic.

T Duong

Well kept and beautiful. Love the living replica of Anne xD

John Gallo

Child hood memories... Great place

Google Guide

A great place to visit whether or not you are familiar with the famous story by Canadian author Lucy Muade Montgomery. Wonderful trails to follow and explore.

Jeff Ohlhausen

Nice grounds. Very commercialized. Much better historical grounds.

Mae McCarthy

The staff are great and it's a very unique experience! I wouldn't plan a whole day out of it, but it's definitely a must-see if you're around PEI.

Peter Manderino

Like the books or not, this is a good take to unwind along the trails that surround the house. Nice property.

Chrisby

So interesting in the new exhibition hall!!! Especially if it's wet!

Leonard E

The 7-day Tour East Bus trip that I’m traveling on stopped here; we have 50 tourists in our group. The $222.50 attractions package includes access to the Whale Watching Boat Tour, Thousand Island Boat Tour, Hopewell Rocks, Maritime Museum, etc., of which this attraction is one of the experiences. Green Gables Heritage Place is located within Prince Edward Island National Park. Green Gables is the name of a 19th-century farm in Cavendish, PEI, and is one of the most recognized literary landmarks in Canada. It’s an interesting visit and a tourist boom for Canada’s smallest province. Development is underway for a huge new Welcome Centre with more amenities. Heritage Canada ????????

Carmen Lee

The Green Gables Heritage was well laid out and comfortable to walk around in. There is an enchantment forest that takes you through a wooded area that is also nice to walk through and very family oriented!

Gordie Hanna

Prepare for lines and strangers in your photos if you're going to visit any time between June and September. The trails are beautiful, but expect some bugs in the warmer months. We enjoyed our visit here.

JohnandLis Humphreys

A must visit for Anne of Green Gables fans.

Master iOqY

Reading the other reviews I had low expectations. Turns out this place was wonderful and brings to life L.H. Montgomery's Anne Shirley and her own life. While the author didn't actually live here, this was the house of her uncle that inspired the story of Anne. Parks Canada purchased the property a while ago and built and new welcome center that just opened May 2019. A new cafe will open soon too. There's a brief tour conducted by Parks Canada staff for about 15 min just outside the welcome center that introduces Montgomery 's story and the grounds. Anne also roams around in costume and acts the part too. The barns are new circa 1997 but the house is original. While the tour doesnt take you through the house, the guide points out interesting things to look for when walking through the house like a "hair wreath" which are hair cuttings from family members that have passed away. A bit eerie but was the practice at the time. The admission wasnt that expensive at just under $8 for adults and youth under 17 are free. The staff were helpful. Plan to spend about 1.5 hrs here but you can spend a half a day walking through the paths and taking your time. You are after all on island time.

Alina Silvestrovici Paun

Very well run museum. They had a nice scanvenger hunt type activity for the kids which kept the engaged and moving.

Ron J

A must see on this beautiful island. If you love the Ann of Green Gables stories this place is for you.

Jack Chambless

For fans of Anne of Green Gables this is a super fun stop. It can get crowded with the international tourists are in town but if you are on Prince Edward Island it is worth the visit. Relaxing...

Michael Martin

This made for great morning outing, that included touring of a historical home and some beautiful outdoor walks. It gives a real sense of the history and environment that inspired the Anne of Green Gables novels. Bring a camera!

Brent Fraser

Good for fans of the movie, or family outing. Wear comfortable shoes for the trails. Staff was friendly and informative. Don't forget your camera.

Chelsea Bergeron

We visited at the beginning of May. It's a beautiful site, a must visit for any Anne fan. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, the guides were very knowledgeable. There is a ton of construction right now (May 2019), whatever they are building looks like it's going to be amazing.

Ricardo F

We've been here to send some pictures for our parents who love the book and the TV series, not expecting much but, we were wrong. An extremely well structured and organized museum, really beautiful inside and out. Very well maintained where you could probably see lots that is on the books right there. Everything is sparkling clean and the flowers are amazing.

Geraldine Gonzalez

A must go if you visit PEI since it's part if the culture.

Nicole and Joe McKinney

Loved, loved loved this place and the interpretation! Dont be distracted by the competition for tourism and questionably "authentic" Green Gables houses. There's room for everyone to get along in the picturesque real world that inspired L.M.Montgomery's beloved fictional world. Anyway, a highlight here is the trails with interpretive signs. Beautiful & relevant. Also loved the full furnished house tour, which added a lot to my next reading of the books.

Luke Belyea

Very neat historic site that inspired the novels for Anne of Green Gables. It was a little tricky to find, and we ended up at a museum instead, and cell service was sparse. So make sure you know the address first before heading out! There was new construction going on by the house and I believe they might be moving the museum closer! I recommend visiting here

John Kinkead

Green Gables is definitely a place for fans of Anne, but you can still enjoy the home and grounds if you're not. In 2018, this was my third visit here and it’s changed since the last time I visited in 2003. They’ve made a lot of updates by adding new buildings and a video presentation. They’re currently building on a new building near the front and the parking area. Entry fees are very reasonable and you can take as much time as you’d like touring the property. If you’re not a fan of Anne and don’t like historical homes, I’d stay away, but otherwise it’s a nice place to visit for not a lot of money.

Ron Licari

Bucket list item for wife. I enjoyed the whole experience and history.

Lissette Lemus

They have done a great work laying out and preserving everything The staff is really helpful

Stephen Eichler

Interesting place for fans of the books to experience. Definitely worth a visit. You can pretty much see everything in 2-3 hours.

Geneviève Déziel

It is worth the 6.50$ Not really worth a detour if you are not a die hard fan of Anne of Green Gables. Would have love some context while visiting the house, either in the form of animation, guided visit or audio guide. Even a little booklet would do the trick.

Donna Brown

Very cool place...heritage site and walking trail in the Haunted Forest to where the home of the author of Anne of Green Gables lived...

Nadeera Liyanage

World known book, so why not visit the place where it was filmed.

Carmelita Marsden

I loved the experience and will definitely be back for a visit, God's willing. Everyone was friendly, kind and knowledgable about the property and it's history. Loved it!

Maxime S.

Great place to stop if you are passionate by the book. Personally not my favorite of all parks canada I visited

Amanda Lowe

Great place, great location, great pricing ( kids 17 and under FREE), would love to have a tour to have more knowledge.

Min Potter

Brought back wonderful childhood memories of both reading and inspiring imagination but the show which my daughter grew up loving. The grounds are a beautiful walk through lovers lane and the Haunted Woods that took you out to original homestead and Montgomery Park and the cemetary where Lucy Maud Montgomery chose her own grave site so she could look out over the woods and the place she called home...

Sarah

This was enioyable enough but if it's not high on your list and you hate crowds then give it a miss. I'm not a fan of the books but my mother is, and we both preferred the Anne museum (about 20 mins away) as it felt more authentic. This is still worth a visit if it's the reason you came to the island - You might even get a photo with Anne! The staff were friendly and you can pick up some souvenirs if needed.

Abigail

Really interesting place to see. The trails are quick, easy to do and well-maintained. The house is really neat as well. Lots of stuff for the kids to do. There are free tours in both english and french every hour and you can also pay more to see LM’s home. We didn’t pay for the extra but we still spent a good chunk of time in the park

Jason Clark

Beautiful location. If you are fan of Anne of Green Gables it's a must see. Take a walk through the haunted forest to the grave of Maude Montgomery the writer of the Green Gables herself. It will give you a sense of who Anne was in the the stories as they were written.

Dan Kennedy

Interesting place to visit. Also has a 1.1km trail to hike. I also was able to charge my Tesla there for free as they have chargers there .. how awesome is that !!

Matt

The wife loved it!!! If u grew up watching or reading these stories u will love it. Nice trails to walk and beautiful things to see.

Emilia Gal

The Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The trail around the property is a very nice walk.

AJ S

It was awesome we all went for a walk... got some memory stuff

CCF

Not much to visit at this location: only the house where Canada’s most loved fictional character, Anne of Green Gables, lived in, and the small Haunted Woods and Balsam Hollow trails featured in the book. If you're not familiar with the 1908 novel, this place will be meaningless to you.

Sophie Bédard

We recommend the hauted wood trail. There is a creek with Crystal clear water. Even if the site was close, we were able to see the inside of the house the windows.

Arkesht Tripathi

Everyone who read book or Saw Netflix series of Anne with an E will love the visit which is a must. Drove 1000 plus miles to reach and enjoyed visit to house. We had tour booked thru Canada park and the girl who showed us around was very knowledgeable and courteous. Book was translated in 40 laungages.

Ghina Besbes

Original place to visit. Enjoyed it. Bring you umbrella if it will rain and hiking shoes. The place is not very big but good for a walk.

Nick Pizza

Very very well kept together and neat experience. Went early to beat the rush and boy would I suggest that. As we were leaving the line for the house was quite long. Also the trail to the authors house crosses a road with no official crosswalk, so cars rarely stop. We had to just walk onto road and wave and a car finally stopped to let a whole group of us over. With the money this place is making I'd suggest making it a legit crosswalk, ie add road paint. Then cars should (or may legally have to) stop.

Philip V

Our guide was so funny and informative. We are blessed as Canadians to have such a creative author as Lucy Maud Montgomery. Thank goodness her Grandma ran the local post office!

Wilson Luo

Nice place to visit, very beautiful, no wonder the movie is so beautiful.

Beverley A. Choo-Foo

I became teary-eyed when visiting the exhibit for it recalled cherished memories of everything that Anne represented for me: an unabashed sense of love for life, beauty and candour. The video of Anne was lovely showcasing excerpts from LMM's journals. The house was carefully decorated with period pieces, however I would have liked more written descriptions on the rooms and furnishings. The walks through Haunted Wood and Lovers' Lane were both lovely.

Clare Boone

A childhood dream of mine, to visit Green Gables. For me it was a very emotional experience ❤???? My boyfriend made it our very first stop in PEI. Well worth the lifelong wait. It will forever hold a special spot in my heart ❤

Rejean Martel Cooper

Lots of people. Took some time to get the photos but patients paid off. We found the map to be barely usefully, perhaps having a better forest map would have helped. Had a good walk in the haunted Forrest.

Brenda S

Green Gables is a must see tourist attraction. There is a small fee to visit, however, it is worth the cost. There is a small museum that provides lots of information on the author and others, as well of a well stocked gift shop. The Green Gables house was spectacular, you get to see history in the moment within the well preserved house.

Two nice little hikes (each 1.1km); may be tricky for a stroller unless it is like a Thule with big wheels. Anne was not around for very long when we were there, which was disappointing. The kids enjoyed the little scavenger hunt in the booklet they received. Likely due to Covid, the eatery was not open. Can be done in 1.5-2 hours or so.

Conveniently laid out such that you can tour the buildings and exhibits without a lot of walking, but offers scenic trails through wooded areas for those with the ability and desire to explore. Staff very accommodating and super friendly.

Closed for the winter but I could walk around. Lots of snow, the picnic benches are buried.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Well maintained grounds, and a must-see for any Anne of Green Gables fans.

Really educational as I get to see how the original novel or story was written, as I only watched the movie. Really inspirational as one can see how some persistence, plus some talent, can produce such an impact on so many people's life! Really Canadian as well, as it shows how we care each other and be nice to each other.

Interesting, especially if you're a Green Gables fan. If you get combined pass and are physically healthy, you can walk between sites, instead of driving. Lots to see and experience. Be sure to walk trails.

Place was being renovated, so there is a lot of construction. Free to see the house though.

The haunted woods trail ia really nice and super easy. The guides were all very informative at the house that inspired anne of green gables. They even have everything set up the way it is described in the book with original items from families across PEI. Very beautiful on a fall day!

Anne of Green Gables Heritage Museum was such a wonderful place to visit and the house contained many period artifacts that were very interesting and helped to make the books come to life. The gardens and all of the outlying grounds were also very beautiful and inviting and a must see as well. The fact that “Anne” is there to greet people to the house is also a nice touch and it was a treat to have our picture taken with her. We took our 90 year old mother to visit Anne’s house and she was thrilled to finally make it there, as were the rest of us! The entire experience was wonderful and I would highly recommend others to visit also. The gift shop at the museum contained a lot of nice Anne of Green Gables memorabilia that was reasonably priced. All of the gift shops that we visited were all priced the same, so if you see something you want you might as well buy it when you first see it, as the prices were no different at any of the shops or museums. This gift shop also had the best T-shirt selections of any of the other shops. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I am looking forward to a return visit to PEI!

All of my children have read and watched Anne of Green Gables and updated me on why they like it or otherwise. Going in I didn't know much about the author though. Learnt alot about the author and how she used her cousin's place as the base of the story. It was a nice hour spent inside and another one out on the Lover's Lane and Haunted Trail. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Worth the visit.

A must see if you are in PEI. With the new exhibit centre it makes for a very informed visit. The staff are great.

New building for 2019 offers additional LM Montgomery insight and artifacts. Green Gables house is just like the book. Anne is often nearby.

A historical gem! A must see place for all Lucy M. Montgomery fans. The place is not very accessible for wheelchairs and strollers as it is a historical building. The newly built facilities are accessible though. This was a very busy place in July!
