Nice place for visiting with family and kids...many species of butterflies and moths...the place was little humid but I can understand because they have to maintain the temp and environment suitable for these insects...

Andrew Miller

I loved the conservatory, it was really fun to walk around with the butterflies fluttering around us. We went on a weekday and we were the only ones in the entire butterfly exhibit, it was quite peaceful and relaxing.

George Vamos

A great location to visit. The cafe has nice selection of food and nice eating area, both indoor and outdoor. The gift store is a nice size and well organized. The butterfly conservatory is tropical, calm and beautiful. It's very easy to see why this is a popular wedding location. The staff here are fantastic. Their enthusiasm comes through whenever you interact with them.

Eugene J

While the place is very nice to visit, and we used to come there every year with our 4 years old daughter, I do not think it is a good place to visit during the pandemic. Zealous staff, lack of empathy and overly stressful approach - all these will add more stress and negativity to your visit. And that is INSTEAD of being a very relaxed and calming experience of spending some time with the butterflies... Bottom line - wait until the pandemic is over if you actually want to enjoy your visit there... And don't you dare to come before your time slot - cold or rain, you will be told to stay outside. Little children including!!!

Marina Wadie

It feels like you have stepped into a tropical destination! Seeing the birds and the butterflies roam freely was so special. A lot of benches to sit and just enjoy being in “nature” for a little bit. It’s too warm in there so make sure you are not dressed in layers if you are visiting in the winter months. It’s also a great educational experience if you have kids.

Talat Awais

This is a really fun place and i would recommend this place to people that have an intrest in bugs and butterflys ???? butterflys are really cute and 1 of them was on me, my brother, and sister.

Niels Beekes

Beautiful garden, but much smaller than we thought and pretty pricey for what it was

Jessie Barritt

A great outing for any age! I have always enjoyed visiting the Butterfly Conservatory since I was little. It's hard these days to find things to do that are still enjoyable with Covid restrictions but the Butterfly Conservatory is a great option!

Jim Wright

As the bus driver for this trip I was unable to your the facilities. I did find it easy to find and easily accessible for all. There is a cafe for light snacks. My passengers enjoyed it very much.

Rubab Zahra

Good place and cheap tickets

Chelsey Hendriksen

We had an awesome afternoon here. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. My 4 year old and 1 year old born enjoyed themselves and I had a great time as well.

Jane Imnotprovidingtherest

Lovely tropical getaway when winter Just. Won't. Leave. Café has personal pizza, salads, muffins & cookies, soups, etc., and a children's menu. It isn't cheap, but it isn't expensive either. Nice gift shop area with lots of children's games & learning activities. Free parking!

Ramnath Kumar

Had a good time with kiddo. A must visit

Rumi Dey

Its a small space but absolute fun. Very well maintained. Following covid restrictions strictly. Staff is wonderful. And tropical weather was a delight during winter months.

Alex Cavanagh

Perfect morning with the kids. We have been 3 times and will go back. Great for kids 1year-10 years. Easily spent an hour in the live butterfly area. Another hour spent learning about bugs in the smaller rooms.

Sara Marry

Much better than the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory - maybe not as many butterflies at once, but far less crowded, best landscaping, friendlier staff, and they have other little creatures to see.

Kris Sybers

A great place to visit to see some beautiful butterflies. They were following Covid protocols and everything was set up to be one way, but you could go around as many times as you wanted with in your scheduled time frame, which was great. Took us about 20minutes to do one round, so we went around again.

MadeBy VR

If you really like butterflies then come here. Otherwise for $20, it’s a lot of money to see butterflies. Kids love it but with the 80% Humidity and 25-30 Celsius temperatures the kids don’t like to be in there for a long time. So if you do go, dress lightly.

Monika Hurford

I visited on Family Day with a group of 12 family members spanning 4 generations. We enjoyed the butterflies and the quail, and also the hug a bug exhibit. Entry for our family with the 20% CAA discount was $135.00, which I felt was reasonable for the size of our group. I attempted to buy a family pass for future visits, but the restrictions on the pass meant none of them applied to a group of 4 or 5 (eg, my mother, my daughter and her two children). Passes are only available for individuals living at the same address, and ID must be shown at each visit. It would be great if a more flexible pass were available that expanded the definition of family.

Sharjeel A. Zadah (SAZ)

Went 5 years back... was great. Now the price has doubled and I didn't see the value the price. So giving 3 stars. Can be better. Please don't blame it on Covid haha

Lee Newton

Lovely place, there's usually someone present in the emerging room off the main sanctuary room if you have entomology / lepidoptera questions. During covid times it's a little weird moving as a group through the space, but it doesn't take away much of the enjoyment.

JP C

Lovely exhibits and lots of beautiful butterflies. We went first thing when they opened and the crowd was manageable, but patience is required. Great for kids interested in nature.

Felicia Nicholas

Such a beautiful and serene conservatory. Traveled outside of Toronto and found this gem . We planned to have our wedding here but Covid messed up our plans which was a bummer. Love the warm tropical feeling, as if your in the islands. Overall lively greenhouse , with clean facilities and great staff. Will be back in the future!

Sled Neck

Friendly staff and great displays. The live butterfly sanctuary is a great experience with tons of varieties of butterflies as well as an array of tropical plants to enjoy. Wear bright colors and you may have a butterfly land on you !!!

David DeWolfe

It's not as big as other butterfly conservatives I have been too.

Booyaka Stubbs (ExplorewithStubbs.com)

Had a very good time here even though covid 19 was in effect. We made smooth transitions from room to room allowing for distance. There were a few people that had the same idea to show up, so they limit the guests and tickets can only be purchased online, so heads up. We were met by a wonderfully bubbly young woman who's name escapes me but she did have a very cool tattoo of butterfly wings on her right forearm. Gotta love your job when that happens, am I right? You could tell she did!! More than just butterflies here too, many insects and an awesome looking blue/purple poison dart frog. The big open free for all room where all the butterflies fly freely around you as you walk was amazing. They are literally everywhere so beware of where you step as they will land on the ground too. What they do on you is another story lol, my wife had two butterflies get busy on her leg doing the butterfly bump..They have a special area where they breed them too, not just on the customers lol. Thank you for an amazing time as the location is well maintained and super clean. Staff was spectacular and very knowledgeable which makes this place highly recommended on my list. Will come back when we visit the eastern coast again..

Vivian Tse

A pretty good place to explore. They have tonnes of different butterfly species imported from Costa Rica on a regular basis. To my surprise butterflies life expectancy is only 2 and a half weeks. They also have museum like glass boxes of exhibitions of various insects, crayfish, butterflies etc. I get icky when it comes to insects so I kind of skipped some sections, but the rest was great. You do need to buy timed ticket currently due to covid though. And it gets fairly humid in there, so dress accordingly. You may go out and come back I if you need the fresh air. But if you do, I find going in a second time feels harder though. Nice staff there!

Zoltan Wagner

The plants alone are worth a visit! It very relaxing and beautiful here and it’s not just butterflies but also an exhibit of many insects. Friendly staff, too!

Emma Mae

beautiful place! the butterflies were lovely, and there was also two rooms where you could view insects in terrariums. the staff were really nice :)

Avinash Singh

Lovely experience. Very interactive and a nice trip to appreciate butterflies and other exotic insects. Take your family and keep this spot hot.

Scary Bookkake

Was okay. Tried to stay for at least an hour, only so many laps you can do. Was fun for the kid so thats all that matters Maybe groupon still has the deal so check it before coming!! Regular is $18 adults and i think $12 for kids Groupon is $12 adults and $10 kids

Stuart Long

Went for a wedding and photoshoot. Place was gorgeous and the staff were very helpful. Nicest place to have a wedding if you want a stunning, different, sense of nature.

Alex Page

Don't bother trying to book an event here because they don't know how to honour a booking. We were trying trying to book a baby shower here for 2022-JAN-02 and had ~1-2 weeks of emails back and forth establishing the arrangement. We were trying to put down the deposit and they then told us that had booked another event in the time slot. Lost the booking because the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing and because the person 'we' contacted was too slow to take a deposit. Having to scramble for another location now. Its the only day that works for us as specific family members are coming in from other provinces. Very disappointed. Buyer beware.

Andrew Lockwood

Always a great time. Different species all the time and well maintained facilities. Can easily spend a few hours here doing loops and "hunting" for the insects, birds, and butterflies in the guide book.

Tony Schmitt

Had our wedding here. Married my beautiful wife here. Would be nice if they cleared people out before you start setting up. And the butterfly where alive when you do the realse.

Laerte Ghiraldello Silva

The conservatory is spacious and well organized, there should be although more option of what to do.

Lisa H

If you can immerse yourself in nature, if you can slow down and take it all in. Watch, sit, observe you will enjoy this place. However, if you are a person who is overheated easily keep in mind the conservatory is very warm and humid. To take better pictures, best to go on an overcast day, which is also better for it feeling less hot. It's like a artificial rainforest, just keep that in mind. They have an area where you can see emerging butterflies and moths. If you ask nicely, the interpreters can bring out real demonstration bugs such as millipedes, stick bugs, nymphs etc. Some you may be allowed to hold. I find it's better when there are less people here, between 3 and 5pm for closer to closing time. To get the best view of butterflies that may seem to never land, the chrysalis area where the emerging butterflies and moths are is best. Sometimes with thier wings fully open. Great for pictures. I love this place so much, however if you are not into bugs, don't find nature interesting then this won't be for you. Otherwise it's a great place to get warm in the colder months. There are coupons from attractions Ontario that are out out every year to save some money and occasionally Groupon will also have a deal for admission. Only thing that sucks is there is no public transit to take you here.

rawkout

Nice place! I really enjoyed it. Great for dates, families, elderly, photographers, people who like warm environments. Ticket price is OK, your date will cost you around $35 for entry {you and the Mrs}.

Greg Van Bastelaar

This is a really neat place to visit with kids and served as a nice respite from the cold Winter weather. The area that houses the butterflies & birds is humid/warm with lush greenery as well as a pleasant waterfall/pond. The staff were very nice and helpful. My only detraction was the price; this is largely a fun place for children to visit and I feel that adults could stand to get a break on admission price -- or perhaps instead of a "day pass" there could be a lesser hourly rate.

Nikki

Really fun place! When we went it was super busy but still had a great time, staff was great accommodating wheelchair use. Had lots of fun!

Jordan Fysh

What a beautiful place. Staff are friendly, butterflies are plentiful, bonus birds! The grounds are really nice too. We will be going back.

Simon Howe

What a great spot! They keep the climate inside super humid and warm. It was 27 degrees Celsius when we were there (nearly 90F) in January! The staff are super friendly and accommodating to children. This is a great spot for toddlers. They're free to run around, lots to see at their level. We also visited the cafe, and had a great lunch. We were expecting tourist gouging prices and were pleasantly surprised at both the cost and quality of the food. I highly recommend a visit for young families. Particularly in winter!

Chris Perry

It's an awesome place to learn about butterflies. They also have some small birds, turtles and other bugs you can learn about. I'd highly recommend this place for kids.

Anoop Chempakasseril

Beautiful place. Nice weather inside. You can see a lot of colourful butterflies inside this artificial habitat. A must see place both for children and adults.

Jeanette Laliberty

We loved seeing the butterflies. They were very active and flying all over the place. The birds were awesome too. They had great exhibits to look at also

Ruella DCosta Fernandes

Amazing Tranquility and very peaceful!

John Freamo

Such a gem in the countryside near Cambridge, Guelph, and Kitchener-Waterloo. Love taking the kids here, and we go every time we're in the area visiting family. It's an especially nice oasis in the winter, stepping into the lush, tropical greenhouse for a taste of summer. The staff are wonderful and it's a really interactive experience for kids.

Steven Weber

Had a great experience with my wife mother in law and 3 year old. Warning though the butterfly jungle is hot and sweaty like a jungle. My toddler never complained. Even the cafeteria was pleasant, offering simple foods for a reasonable price.

Janice Buswell-Lyons

So much fun for the whole family. My three year old loved it

Amit Bhutani

Excellent place for kids. They have lot of different types of butterflies. They also have good descriptions of each type of butterflies. If you are in or around kitchener/waterloo/Cambridge, you must visit & support them. Edited- removed CAA membership reference as it is no longer valid

Crystal Meade

What a team! Susan introduced us to a fabulous documentary Fantastic Fungi, and the gift shop lady was super helpful and kind. ????

Umi Shamji

Had an amazing experience! It felt like walking in a mini rainforest with butterflies and beautiful plants and trees everywhere! Staff was helpful, professional and kind.

Mark Dewar

Exquisite displays and live butterfly and birds and the staff were so happy to answer any questions. Awesome adventure

jazzy Nicks

Gorgeous! I loved this place so much!

Jenn R

We had a wonderful time at the Conservatory, the bug displays are so cool!! And of course the butterflies ????the Conservatory is teeming with life. The flowers and the plants are so beautiful, especially in this time of COVID when we can't get away to a tropical paradise, we need look no further, the Conservatory has all that we need! We love this place so much, we are having our wedding here!

Trevor McLarnon

What a great place to take your toddlers! My son loved it, we spent hours walking around and finding butterflys and turtles. The staff were super friendly and the bugs were so cool! Will go back for sure

Sandra Hughes

Fun and great for taking pics, super friendly and helpful staff

Little Munchkins

Enchanted place- it’s beautiful- colourful, nice and warm ????. You can go all year round. Almost feels like flying with butterflies in an enchanted forest.

Andre von Nickisch (VNR Photography)

What a great place to go for an afternoon or anytime... this place is great to go if you are a photographer or someone that just likes nature.... they have so many butterflies flying around its awesome and all of the other wildlife that is around....

Louise Morfitt Hall

Wonderful, like a fairy tale. So many kinds in different stages.

Arthur Sweezie

This is a great place to visit, thousands of butterflies and a few different birds plus some bugs. Had a great time and close to Cambridge.

Carrie M

Great parking and wasn't busy at all. Come at least 3 hours before closing if you want to watch some butterflies hatch from their cocoons. There weren't many left when we were there. They have great covid regulations with one way walking in display rooms and limiting the number of tickets sold. The store has some cool bug things like chocolate crickets, mealworms and suckers with bugs in them.

Jonathan Knight

My daughters and I love this place!

Danielle K

It was a lovely experience it's a small trail compared to Niagara's and not as many different exhibits but there are enough spaces to spread out and the bugs are divided between two rooms. I know COVID hasn't been kind of places like this but I packed food for my kids and we couldn't eat it at the cafe so we ate in the car. It's wheelchair accessible but the doors may be a little tight, and there is a change table in the female bathroom.

sindhu bijjal

Staff is lovely, very friendly and humble people. they try to answer all kind of questions that you ask. variety of butterflies, bugs, birds are found here. also, there is a museum of butterflies etc. Loved this place. Often visits here are definitely a stress buster !

Corey Grecia

Great little tropical getaway in the winter time

Ryan Ruthart

So much fun. Went with a stroller and it has easy to navigate paths. Butterflies and plants were beautiful. There are also many exhibits with exotic insects and lizards.

R. B.

My wife, daughter and I visited the conservatory for the 3rd time and both times have been a excellent experience. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating and our daughter just loved seeing the butterflies zip passed her. We look forward to returning again soon!

Leticia Franco

Very small place, but nice for kids

Marta Borowska

It's a nice place but pretty small! Very hot inside. They have cute quails! Wish it was bigger space.

Christian Gaarn

I love this place! Walking through the main exhibit is like a slice of paradise, transporting you far away from Ontario. The inside climate is tropical so dress accordingly. It can get hot in there. Awesome fun for kids too. The whole experience is short and spending an hour or so is all you need.

Archie Ives

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and our granddaughter loved it. The cost is ok for getting out of the cold weather it was grand. The cafe is there although we never used it, it has a lot of items for consumption. Large parking lot and accessible for wheelchair.

Kayden Kuipers

Great place to bring kids location is great giant great place for taking photos which is what I did over five star review

Jennifer Fernandes

Great collection of insects and butterflies!

Calyx and Trichomes

Perfect place to go when you’re stoned. One of the first places my partner and I went on a date!

Chantelle Habbershaw

Gorgeous foliage, beautiful butterflies, what a spectacular atmosphere. Educational as well. Free guided tour, labled signs for the vegetation. Display cases and friendly helpful staff. My 5 year old had a blast today!

Jenna L

Went with my 5 year old during the Bug Feast. We somehow got there 15 minutes before anyone else so had the luxury of walking through the butterfly space without other visitors. Yes, it is small compared to the one in Niagara but it is so much more comfortable in size because you are greeted with huge smiles and friendly personalities by all who work there and if you have a kid who's afraid of flying butterflies it's small enough to get through at a slow pace so they can become more relaxed and enjoy spotting fish, turtles, lil birdies. OH and the bug feast was so much fun!!!!! My kid laughed her head off watching me eat the samples and we took advantage of the two photo booths they had set up with props. So,yes it's small and some people complain about the cost but when you think about the quality of the experience and all the work that goes into maintaining the place its worth it.

Marsie P

This butterfly sanctuary is great. The butterflies are very happy here, I've seen less dead ones than other sanctuaries I've been to. Smaller, but taken care of. They also have an exhibit where they have different types of bugs, some are kept in terrariums. Then they have others posted in frames. Very nice and informative plaques as well. Nice location!

Maria LozanoSolano

Over priced for the what we saw. A very small place for the admission fee. It starts where it ends. The gift shop is ridiculously big, almost the same size the actual butterfly enclosure is.

Ryan Braun

Took my GF here and she loved it. So many butterflies, friendly staff, and well organized. Would highly reccomend

Cheryl Lim

A lovely place to take the kids or even go on a date. The staff is very informative and super patient with children. The conservation itself is a decent size and there are benches along the pathways to hangout and immense in the world of butterflies. A few little birds and quails to find, a ton of fish and even a turtle add to the collection. Very well run and clean center worth checking out.

Paul

Almost want to call it a waste of money. It is very tiny and has very limited attractions. Don’t get me wrong, the butterflies are beautiful but the lack of space ruins the experience in moving from attraction to attraction. I would try the Niagara conservatory, if this is your thing. I don’t think the price justifies the experience here.

Linda Prudhomme

Butterfly Conservatory in Cambridge is something you must experience for yourself. There is quite the assortment of Butterflies and each have their unique colours. I had some land on me and others fly around me. They also have birds and other animals as well. It's a great place to learn about these amazing butterflies and other small creatures.

David Parrott

Very nice little place. If you like butterflies, you will get your fill here. They also had other bugs on display. Saw a few that were new to me.

Carl Giguere

Simply gorgeous. We were surprised to see that there was so many butterflies flying around you, you don't have to look for them, they are everywhere!

Annika Jayne

This place remains just as magical as ever. We loved sitting on the benches and looking up at all the butterflies and birds flying around. Looking forward to heading back in the spring when they get the new beehive :)

R dc

They know how to conserve species. Everyone's looking for some beautiful (natural like) places like this in middle of crowded, noisy town. I could observe plenty of butterflies kinds, tortoise, colourful fishes, birds and insects. Though the place is bit narrow and there's not much space for scores of visitors, it's relaxing place to be in.

Dave Chen

Such a wonderful place to visit. The diversity of butterflies, insects, etc. was amazing. Everything was carefully curated. The staff members are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Girl Rebuilt

An absolutely gorgeous place for the entire family to visit and a nature photographers dream come true. I particularly love going here in the winter when the tropical greenhouse environment is very much needed to escape the winter block. Incredible opportunities to see butterflies emerge from their cocoons. If you wear bright colors and our patient some are likely to land on you as well. Much less crowded than the Niagara butterfly conservatory andnd more reasonably priced as well. Couldn't love this place more. Frequently discount vouchers can be found on Wag-Jag, Groupon etc

David Bates

My Daughter had a blast. The hands on exhibits they had were a lot of fun and the staff were friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. When its busy it can be a little tight on the walkways, so would suggest leaving the stroller at the front or in the car (if you can), there is a free coat room with lots of space. They have a little cafe but it doesn't have a lot to offer, mostly snacks and a small selection of warm food. A little pricey for what you get, however, the kids loved it and still talk about it and want to go again, so, cant really put a price on that.

Cyndi Marshall

Cute little place to visit, but short. They gave 2 hours on a scheduled visit, but definitely didn't need the full time. It was nice to go. Once.

Angie C Gibson

Lots of different bugs and butterflies that I didn't know existed. The oasis where the butterflies and birds were flying free and all the plants was very relaxing. I saw stuff in the gift shop I will go get for Christmas presents for my grandchildren

carl cunningham

A live exhibition. A bit humid inside. Especially when wearing a mask.

Mark Zammit

Wonderful exhibits, beautiful butterflies, and extremely kind, friendly and helpful staff.

Jessie QuintaR

Beautiful place to relax with the butterfly,

Susan Cook

You are up close with nature, you visit creatures in their true habitat.

Ash Noman

Its a small.place but I like it. U need an hour to look around.

Romina Crosato-Granaudo

Amazing display, excellent for kids. Conservatory warranted a second visit. Spectacular.

Sujit Kumar

Good for one time visit. We visited this last week and saw few butterflies flying around. The number of butterflies were less than expected.

Amber Clarke

Such a beautiful place definitely worth the $20. Several species of birds and butterflies in the sanctuary but it also contains a little museum/ display at the front as well. They also have a party room for larger groups/ events !!

photographybygeorge1

Because of Covid-19 regulations I recommend to call first and make a reservation. Great place to visit with your kids.

Shilpa Verma

I can give 10 star to this place. We have recently been to this place and i can go there every day. This place is so magical even u don’t need company to go there just go alone if u want alone time and sit there and experience a meditation like feeling so relaxing and calm. You will totally forget that there is snow outside. They kept it so well. The mesmerizing sound of water and birds will make you feel like in some tropical place.I would highly recommend this place to everyone.Children will definitely going to enjoy aswell and its educational too.Staff is very nice and friendly. They have insects, birds, tortoise etc..Must watch.????????????????

S Smith

Small but beautiful. Nice paved path loops through a lush garden with various butterflies flying about and perched on feeding stations. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Plenty of Covid safety protocols in place but doesn't detract from the experience

Mr. Big

A great place to bring my kids. My son loved it, however my daughter did not like the butterfly landing on her. A great place if you want to spend a few hours entertaining your kids.

Devin O

This was a great day trip. Staff was very knowledgeable. The Cafe had amazing customer service and really good food including vegetarian options. Recommend going and staying for lunch.

Stefanie B

Beautiful butterflies and cool little exhibits. They have 2 separate rooms from the enclosure that have all sorts of insects in them which is neat. When you go into the enclosure it has a rainforest feel and is pretty humid but very beautiful. There is also a section where you can see the metamorphosis of caterpillars turning into butterflies. There are also some landing spots throughout the enclosure where a butterfly just might land on you which is really cool. If you're looking to have a butterfly land on you be sure to wear bright colours and stay still ????

Ahmed Dinani

Small indoor place with a good variety of different types of butterflies. They have some very good exhibits and displays in their gallery.

jessica harding

Great time was had by all , our 18 months old loved it ! The butterflies flew all around her and landed on her hand . Such a fun way to spend a few hours

Sam Graham

Beautiful little oasis for butterfly and bird lovers! So grateful I got to visit before the second lockdown. So many safety measures in place, very happy with their precautions. They also have 2 rooms dedicated to other insects with live specimens and catalogued bugs from all over the world! Staff is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. Truly a peaceful place. Hopefully after Covid I can return and take my time going through the exhibit again.

M Da Costa

Start of our vacation week and it's raining. So we decided to go here. The butterflies were fun to watch along with the quails and various birds. You get to see the cocoons and witness the butterfly taking flight for the first time. There are also exhibits inside, you van watch the honeybees come in to hive and watch them work. Staff was super friendly. During COVID you need to purchase your tickets online. My teenage daughter loved it. Fun for the whole family. Place was clean and staff sanitizing high traffic areas. Would go back again.

Smit Panchani

Best place to explore butterfly

Derek Scanlan

many hours of awesome summer memories with my daughter and I here. A wonderful experience for all ages.

Laura Cole

Cute place, lots of information and nice to wonder around. Hug a bug day was pretty neat.

It was like stepping into a tropical rainforest. So warm and humid lots of plants and vegetation. Of course many beautiful butterflies as well as many other things to see.

William Cartagena

Lovely place. Lots of interesting information. Beautiful butterflies flying around. Really nice experience.

Heather Jewitt

It's close to home reasonably priced and really cool place to check out!!!

Larissa Beadman

Great place for little kids to explore and enjoy

Kathleen Foldvari

A beautiful venue for a lot of different activities! I wish it was just a little more guided or interactive for the kids.

Fareed Mansur

A great place and effort by the management, it's very informative and amusing for adults and kids a like. Staff is super friendly and very knowledgable. Its butterfly life cycle upclose and personal as one can get.... must visit

Andi Hipwell

Had a great time walking around the conservatory and checking out the butterflies, birds, and flowers. The procedures and staff made us feel safe and relaxed.

Ian Kerr

Great location for kids of all ages. Can watch butterflies emerging and flying, check out the birds, and get hands on with some exhibits. Good for 2.5-2hrs with my kids (3-6yrs).

Robert Levy

Had a few butterflies land on me! It's a bit warm inside but they fly really close and land on or near you.

Safaa M Bedawi

Lots of beautiful butterflies ???? and flowers. Have a set of caged insects to display.

HelloImSamson

Friendly staff, lots of interesting stuff there, including tarantulas and stick bugs. A great place to bring a date and well worth the cost. Handicap accessible too.

Chris Guerin

Beautiful as fascinating! Butterflies flying everywhere inside the conservatory along with birds I’ve never seen before!

CKC Z06

Nice place to spend a afternoon it's a bit pricey.

Sarah Brown

Love this place. Always a good time with the kids, especially in winter months.

T J

I love visiting, it's one of the best butterfly conservatories I've been to, love that there are birds there:-) prices are extremely reasonable. Staff are really friendly too which makes visiting that much more pleasant:-)

Andrew Von Lukawiecki

Had a wonderful time yesterday at the conservatory. Staff was exceptional and very knowledgeable. Everything was clean and there was proper COVID precautions in place so we could enjoy our time and stay safe. We will definitely be returning and telling others of the wonderful experience.

Zoe Kelly

Amazing variety of butterflies, insects, birds and plants. Helpful staff and excellent exhibits for children and adults.

Greg Thornton

Wes loves it here, and overcame his fear of insects! Still won't eat the ants in my kitchen but he really enjoyed the suckers (maskless pic from 2018)

Tina Mirzaee Ghazani

Place was very nice. Love going here with my family! :) I was invited to a birthday party hosted here in the past. The only issue I have is some of the people are rude and will continuously follow you. One lady even said don't touch the leaves to my friend and I ( which we weren't.,) and continued to follow us just to tell us not to touch anything. :/

Teresa L

Great for kids free guided tours. Can purchase tickets online. Educational and fun!

Craig Stewart

They have made the conservatory safe during the pandemic, so you can see something beautiful when you need it most.

Troy Warrington

There were lots of butterflies, close by. Staff were friendly. However they had no steps once inside the conservatory to social distance. No markers, no lines, no notices. They really aren't doing anything aside from "limiting" the amount of tickets purchased for each time slot. It was at times very uncomfortable.

Bren Irwin

Lovely time at the butterfly conservatory. It's not a long path through, but it probably takes more than one pass through to take it all in. Wear light clothes as it is warm in there. The staff were very friendly and it was nice to see other parents enjoying their time with the children there.

Mukesh Sharma

Had a nice experiance - Its really good to be around some butterflies- They maintained it very well -Its Good for kids for sure and a day outing as well -Staff was really friendly and they a small displays as well. Once should visit for sure!

Rebecca Nash

I love this beautiful place right in our backyard. The staff is always helpful and kind but the conservatory is magical. Just watching the butterflies flit around you.

Laiba Ali

This was a lot of fun to go to. We got to see far more than just butterflies - they had turtles and a variety of birds there. A great place to bring kids with a curiosity about the natural world.

Paul Ooi

Was able to see everything in approximately 1 hour. If we stopped to read all the plaques maybe it'd take 2 hours. Took the parents and a toddler. Wonderful butterflies and moths. There's also staff to help answer questions at the hatching station. If you're lucky and timed right maybe you'll get to see a butterfly exit their cocoon.

Ryan Labrie

A wonderful experience even during covid it was a pleasant stroll. Went here as a vendor and loved every minute

Deryck Hart

Had a great visit today. Was nice to enjoy some tropical weather as the temperature dropped.

Jean-Claude Desjardins

A wonderful place to visit with kids or even a night out with friends, family or that special someone. It's truly a beautiful and enjoyable experience to have literally thousands of butterflies zooming past you well taking a walk through the observatory. It almost makes you feel like you are in the jungle, walking down a pathway surrounded by plants and trees from all over the world as well as a beautiful waterfall and pond. Filled with fish and turtles. There are also many birds that fly throughout the observatory. And a parrot that is usually sitting on his perch. They also have two galleries that have several different types of insects and information on butterflies and other insects. They also have a small cafe where you can buy meals and snacks and drinks well visiting the conservatory, as well as a great gift shop. They have many different activities and events throughout the year that can easily be found on their website or I'm sure on Facebook. I also believe they may hold wedding here but I'm not sure. Something that could easily be found out. So if your looking for a great time at a reasonable price than definitely check out the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory. We have been several times and always have a blast. Have never looked into the membership as we come from about an hours drive away, but I'm sure that it would definitely be worth it if you live in the Cambridge or KW area.

Lori South

Love this beautiful Butterfly Conservatory. Great interpretive staff to answer your questions while you are surrounded by free flying butterflies and moths. So tropical inside this building. Restaurant is excellent for light lunches and snacks. Has gift shop on site. Offers Senior's discount, is wheekchair accessible and great place to sit and relax and enjoy the sunshine and warmth. Groups welcome. Also has banquet room for weddings and special occasions.

Kelsey Jackson

We had an amazing time learning about butterflies! It was like having our own private tropical oasis for 2 hours! The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! We can't wait to come back soon!

Verity Suntz

Took our 2 year old here for his birthday and it was a huge hit. Plan to spend 1-2 hours here - the conservatory is small but beautiful and so fun, and the educational rooms outside the conservatory offer some additional information. Be prepared - the conservatory is HOT and HUMID. I loved it, my husband was dying! Allow yourself to enjoy the butterflies and other wildlife. Don’t rush through. Good pricing for what they offer. The cafe onsite charges for convenience, so we recommend you bring snacks or a lunch.

Stephanie Therrien

Friendly, warm and welcoming environment. All out beautiful place! I love butterflies so this was my happy place :)

Steph S

Still a fun place to visit, even with Covid restrictions in place. Wear as few layers as possible - it's so humid inside the butterfly area. What's nice is you can take a break from the walkthrough and visit the insect and reptile displays in cooler rooms. Overall it's a great place to take kids, or anyone that hasn't been before. (Just make sure kids get the 'look, don't touch' rundown or you'll be in trouble ????)

Garry Bakuniec

I have to admit I was surprised that the Butterfly Conservatory existed until I did a search and I am Glad I did. We had a marvellous time. It was a perfect sunny day and the butterflies were stunning. The staff is great. They will do anything to make your visit better.

K Kulesha

Lovely experience and the staff were very welcoming. Took my 2.5 year old who was enthralled. Tickets are purchased in time blocks. We bought ours for the last 90 mins on a Saturday, and I was disappointed it was so busy. Not very good for social distancing if everyone shows up at the same time. But a pleasant experience the whole family can enjoy.

Gladis Flatt

It is the perfect place to take little ones on a cold day to learn about butterflies and insects. Also nice to have snack and coffee.

Kash

It's a nice little butterfly conservatory. Can be improved further like the one in Singapore. Needs more theme decor out side the building too. Plus a little play area for the kids will be good, or a coloring corner etc. Just some more activities for those coming from further away around gta specially to visit only this conservatory. There's plenty of parking available on site. It's best when the weather is really bad outside and you visit here cuz you will get a great feel of the meditation places

Olya Makeieva

Nice place! Free parking but should have a booking online in advance for entry. $20 per adult and $8 per youth kid. Our 4 yo girl had a fun but we spend here 1 your only. So 1 hour for trip - 1 for fun - and 1 hour for back trip ???????? My recommendation to plan something else for visit in this aria

Johnny Caldoculo

Great family time. Kids loved having the butterflies land on them

Paulina Boreal

Our family enjoyed greatly the visit to butterfly Conservatory. Nicely maintained premises, lots of informative posters, super friendly and knowledgeable staff, gift store full of butterfly themed souvenirs and irresistible lollipops,,, Conservatory has everything and more to make family time enjoyable. Definitely we will return.

Ben I

This is a really fun place to visit. The lobby entrance has two really cool museum areas. They contain lots of exotic bugs, small reptiles, etc. My kids loved this part. The actual conservatory area feels like a tropical vacation. They maintain a really warm humid temperature (take your coat off in the car in the winter). Walking through feels so cool. There are butterflies flying all around, landing on you and feeding on the little pieces of fruit they leave out. Part way in there's an area with cocoons and chrysalises hanging, all in different stages. We watched a butterfly hatch and saw many that has just freshly hatched (so cool)! Decent gift shop. I purchased some bbq flavoured crickets to give them a try with some friends. Not bad lol Highly recommend a visit here.

Kassi Meslo

Beautiful location to take the well behaved little ones! There are beautiful butterflies that land everywhere including the ground so little feet need to be taught to walk slow and observe♥️. Friendly staff, clean, going during the weekdays is the best as it is super quiet and peaceful. Wear a tank top or light short sleeve shirt...as it gets very steamy and hot inside with the butterflies climate ????

James Bachiller Adventures Vlog

Beautiful place that your family would enjoy

Dar Woodley

Kids enjoyed all the birds and butterflies. Had a few land right on us. Great time.

Carly O'Brien

Had a membership for a couple of years when my littles were smaller. A wonderful place to go for photos, warmth and good, safe fun. Informative exhibits, excellent parking and a local success story. I usually take my own food. if I am staying awhile. Another local winner!

Cosmo

Perfect place to bring any one! This conservatory has an abundance of different butterfly species as well as other insects, crawling critters and even birds to take a gander at. 2 hours for a ticket is more than enough time to enjoy learning and relaxing in a beautiful garden full of winged life.

Andrea vandenHoek

Fun for kids, relaxing, and beautiful. We will definitely go back. Lots of beautiful butterflies, but also birds, turtles, and other insects to see.

Caroline Lightowler

This is a lovely little place to visit. There's a large indoor garden for all the butterflies and a few birds, which is great at any time of year. They also have an area for bugs, which can sometimes be held by the kids. The small cafe has good food. Definitely worth a visit.

Joshua Da Silva

Expensive for what you get. It's $20 and takes 15 minutes to walk through if you are slow and stopping for pics. For another $9 you can get into the Toronto Zoo for the day.

Amie Shepherdson

It's a little smaller than I expected, but they have a huge variety of butterflies. The guides are full of information about different butterflies and there's a little hatching section that's super awesome to see.

Melanie Morrison

Always a pleasure! Wear summer wear in pinks/orange to attract butterflies

Tim Stern

Had an incredible time at Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory. The location itself is gorgeous with lots of butterflies and nice greenery all around. Its a great place to go, especially during the winter months. I also selected the private photography session and the staff could not have been more accommodating. They were quick to answer any questions and went above and beyond to help with anything I needed. I can not recommend this location enough!

Chris Coveny

Nice excursion for a date or with the kids. Lots of information, insects , butterflies and more.

Yee Hong Chu

Good place for a quick getaway to enjoy butterflies flying around you while learning more about butterfly lifecycle. There are some extra insects for you to explore. You will also see some birds and quill roaming around lol.

Mark Dykstra

This place was amazing. A hidden treasure in Cambridge that everyone must visit. They have butterflies of course but there's also displays on other insects too. There is also a small coffee shop and a gift shop.

Jeffrey Johnston

Excellent venue to get married. I have been to multiple weddings there, and the staff to an incredible job hosting. The indoor space with beautiful butterflies and gorgeous plant life is so relaxing to walk around for a personal visit as well. Highly recommend!

Justin O'Brien

I was there Yesterday with 3 little girls and the amount of children, teenagers and adults with no mask was extremely disappointing. I went to the front desk and report it to him as he was checking ppl in with kids not wearing masks. Their was a large family literally 15 feet away from us with no masks on taking pictures and he just shrugged me off like their was nothing he was going to do. I won't be returning to this beautifully unsafe place.

anish cesil

I had a fun time knowing about different insects and walking along the tropical garden with the butterflies There are no words to describe how I felt when meeting these lil flies

M Elaine Mandeville

Beautiful and educational. Good cafe menu. Fun afternoon adventure.

Lee Zamparo

Our kids loved the displays, and the butterfly room especially. Afterwards we had a picnic at their tables outdoors. I would definitely recommend it for a family outing

Ravvindra Babu TG

A very nice place for kids to be amidst the beautiful, colorful butterflies and know the world of insects. The best part is that the butterflies keep fluttering around you.

Rockett Man

Great little spot for a quick family visit. Various butterflies and moths as well as some tropical birds. Staff is helpful. A guide is available showing the butterflies and birds at the door for a small fee. Popular place so i suggest buying tickets online to ensure your spot. They also have static displays of butterflies, moths and spiders. Gift shop and cafe located on the premises. Near Waterloo Regional Airport.

Mike

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, beautiful and educational facility perfect for everyone from nature lovers, couples or families. They offer a coat check, cafe and gift shop. Great place to visit especially during winter to escape the cold for a bit. Admission prices are reasonable.

Rachel Babor

An OASIS! Perfect for anyone at any stage of life!!! Accessible, beautiful and grounding. Would much rather walk around here then a mall in the winter!!! Perfect for elderly or children. There's strollers, walkers and wheelchairs available to anyone to use. All of the staff are SO friendly and kind! Buy yourself a seasons pass for ONLY $65 and go as many times as you can in a year PLUS get 10% off in the gift shop and cafe while feeling good you've helped conserve nature. Cannot recommend enough! A great place to create lasting memories and traditions :)

Ryan Cantin

You'll feel like you're outdoors in a rainforest but you're indoors in Cambridge. A very nice spot for adults and kids. The butterfly area is beautiful. Lots of plants, water, stone and of course lots of butterflies. There is a place where you can see butterflies in various stages of their life and even see them emerging from their chrysalis. The other areas of the building have some interesting things to see too, such as insects and spiders (although mostly for display behind glass and not living). There's a great gift shop with plenty of stuff to remember your visit. The BBQ ants were delicious!

Nithya Arun (Nithya)

Excellent place. Good hour to two hours activity for a colder day. Kids under 3 go for free, ages 3 - 12 @ 7.50 and about $17 per adult. Lots of butterflies. Educational experience for kids.

Roccozio “RestaurantRater”

Good exhibits to see and walk through.

Carey Bertelsen

I have gone multiple times here with seniors from LTC homes I have worked at and we are always treated respectfully even when a resident needs a little extra attention. I have also taken my niece and nephew here multiple times they really enjoy learning about the different butterflies. Most recently I took a 90 year old man there for his birthday and he had an amazing time alkyd about his trip for weeks. Thank you for making his day and every ones day that passes through the doors .

Kunwarjeet Singh

Serene environment and so close to nature.. playing with the butterfly was one awesome experience

Saida Mohamed

It best place to take your family. Kids really enjoy it. You'll see different type of butterflies, birds and insects

Solaiman Hasan

Very nice place to take the family for an hour or two , maybe three .But the kids will like it , they also have a small collection of other insects than butterflies , the people there are very nice and they’ll help answering any question. In total I liked it, and will visit again.

Dallis Favret

Nice visit especially if you're in to entomology. A little on the pricey side, but it's not everyday you'll visit a butterfly conservatory, especially one as well attended with knowledgeable staff.

Joshua Thomas

It was a great educational thrill. My Wife and I were also pleasantly surprised by having so many different species in one place. My 13 month old enjoyed herself immensely! Grounds are clean and well-being, and the food at the onsite cafe was actually pretty good.

Purrrplehaze

Relaxing, interactive experience. For a couple of hours it was like being in a tropical forest. Learn as much as you want about butterflies and moths or simply just enjoy the peaceful surroundings. COVID protocols did not interfere with the experience but come prepared for the humidity. And wear bright colors! It attracts the butterflies and you get more personal photos!

Mike McCumber Photography

If you love shooting butterflies; this is your spot! A huge diversity of curious butterflies in a small area, making it ideal for taking photos. Grab your macro lens and go have some fun, you'll be sure to get some great shots here!!

Jane Waterfall

Small venue but lots to see, staff were friendly and helpful

Joanna Dubois

My son went for the BugQuest summer camp and absolutely LOVED it!! He really enjoyed learning about the various insects, making new friends, doing all the activities. The counsellors had some amazing and fun games available too for their activity time. He never wanted to leave! I highly recommend this summer camp, and the Conservatory is fun and exciting as well. My son wants to go next summer as well for another week. Makes me really happy he had such a wonderful time!!

Marco Antonio Nieto

It is a nice experience. Parents, please take care of your children; some of them touch the butterflies or kill them.

Victor Ciubotariu

First time going and it kids loved it. We have been to Niagara conservatory and thats the only one i can compare it to. In comparison this place is smaller. there are 2 rooms before the main attraction with insects and other animals.

MLMorfitt

So relaxing and calming to be quietly close to nature in a safe indoor setting.

Sarah L DenHollander

I absolutely love going here. The staff are friendly and the place is always clean. Prices are very affordable. If haven't been, you need to go!

Quinn Harder

Susan made for a great experience from welcome to goodbye. The conservatory is very immersive and relaxing. Highly recommend.

Tiffany Bissonnette Reed

What a fabulous afternoon spent here. It didn't feel like we were there for 2 hours, we were enthralled! Would definitely go back again!

Courteney M

Nice and warm. Beautiful butterflies and a great experience. It’s very small so I wish the restaurant was larger with more options. But if all you want to do is see the butterflies this is a great half day trip.

Adrienne Hong

Had a great time this past weekend since it is open again. Pre-ordering tickets online is the way to go. We didn't have to wait in line to buy tickets when we arrived, and we were guaranteed entry. Just showed the barcode of my pre-purchased tickets at the door and we were off! The timed tickets worked really well and the facility didn't feel crowded at all. The butterflies and displays were amazing as usual. My kids loved it. We will definitely go again!

S Clarke

Great place for old and young. Wheel chair accessible. Beware of the tropical climate.

Kimberly Saunders

Something great to do indoors. They have two smaller rooms with insects and other creepy crawlies (both living and on pin boards with information). The main attraction is the large interior room which resembles a jungle. Very warm with lots of plants and a waterfall. Birds and butterflies roam throughout freely. You can expect to see 50+ butterflies flying around. They sometimes land on visitors. Also has a Cafe (small menu of sandwiches and wraps /desserts). Right now they have timed ticket entry and you can stay for 2 hours. Many people had strollers and there are benches along the main jungle path to sit and watch. We went with our toddler and was done in an hour.

Jeff Bauer

Smaller than expected, but very cool for adults and children. Lots of unusual species of butterflies from all over the world. We were there for a bug hunt outside where the conservatory supplied meets and terrariums for the kids to go hunting for critters.

Andres Mera

Beautiful place, unfortunately it has a big big "but": the place is super busy on weekends. Stuff must control the visitors (sometimes you can't walk inside because of the crowd).

Maya V

Inspirational for a green thumb no doubt, a great escape on a winter day, great displays of beautiful worldly insects, though does not warrant a long visit. $34 for two people.

Angela Bortolus Longo

A lovely place to explore and learn about butterflies and other insects and spiders. There are two rooms with displays and then the main Butterfly space. We've had the joy of watching a butterfly emerge from it's chrysalis and stretch out it's wings - what a remarkable and magical experience. Things to note: Family friendly, easy access for strollers, coat room, outdoor pollinator garden, onsite cafe. Staff are available to answer questions, you can also purchase a little butterfly guide to help identify butterflies that you see in the conservatory. Expect to stay around two hours, although timed entry tickets are currently required. Our family enjoys it so much we upgraded our to members.

Dayle Van Massenhoven

Lovely place to go for a day trip, not too pricey. My 16 month old daughter loved it. Easy guidelines to follow with covid precautions

Nicole Layton

Wonderful place to take your family!! Love all the butterflies there. Children enjoyed it very much.

R T

Nice Day visit.

Lawrie B

Really well done! It's smaller than the Niagara conservatory, but I found it was better laid out and equally beautiful, as well as not being nearly as crowded. Really enjoyed myself!

Bruno C. Sibella

Great experience! It is an awesome warm and cozy place to go during winter. Butterflies, plants and much more to see.

Sudipto Ghosh

Beautiful collection of butterflies. Enjoyed the day very much.

Bruce Renton

The guide we met was well informed and interesting to learn from. More here than butterflies. There are birds, insects, turtles and fish.

Jian Relatos

There's a butterly release every hour I think. Good spot for families and kids. Gallery is very detailed.

Sareela Ramcharan

Love this place. Always so serene. It’s always warm inside the conservatory so it’s a perfect place to visit in the winter! Also I love seeing the quails everytime I go

Ayla Shank

Beautiful and educational place to visit and enjoy nature with friends and family.

Amaranath TN (Amr)

Children will be excited and enjoy a lot.

Jennifer “ThruJensLens” McNaughton

A very lovely collection of beautiful butterflies in a charming walk-through garden setting. Very knowledgeable staff.

Andrea Deering Nagy

My husband and I had an incredibly magical, short and sweet wedding (it was an evening ceremony with a dessert reception), with about 150 guests, last night at the Butterfly Conservatory. Cayla and Shannon's management of the event was invaluable. They were extremely attentive and flexible. I felt like everything was completely under control with them at the helm, assisted by the rest of the fantastic staff. The venue itself was nothing short of enchanting. On a dark and cold February evening, with the main overhead lights off, lit with twinkle string lights, it was like a warm, cosy, magical oasis filled with everyone we love. The food and drink service was flawless, and even though we were not serving alcohol they were still happy to serve a custom mocktail that we requested. At the end of the night all of our things were quickly packed up for us and we were on our way home. All of our friends and family raved about the location, and how gorgeous everything was. Highly recommend, we have decided to have all of our weddings there ????.

Jordan Lahn

Beautiful place just to go and sit and enjoy the sound of the waterfalls and the smell of the flowers and, of course, the dancing butterflies. You could see the whole place in fifteen minutes, but you can spend hours enjoying it.

Shadae Hassan

Similar to the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls but way less crowded so you can enjoy without being rushed. There's ample free parking outside as well.

Amy Lyoness

It’s ok. Not really A LOT of butterflies. Didn’t really wow me or the kids. The other bugs and couple birds were cool. Staff were friendly.

Heather McNutt

Very family friendly, sunny day had the butterflies fluttering around!! A few more bugs to interact with would be nice otherwise a fabulous place to go wandering in

Umran Chaudhry

Butterfly Conservatory is a fun time for everyone young and old

Jaden Le

A beautiful place for family hang out

Jourdan Meinen

Such a beautiful spot. We love to bring our kids here, even though they are very young, because there is always so many species of butterflies and beautiful birds to see! Our oldest is almost 3. The staff is very helpful and informative - they often walk around with different bugs for all to see. There's also a spot to look at the chrysalis and sometimes you'll see butterflies emerge. A great place to take pics as well!

Paul Bondy

This is a beautiful place and a must see. It’s well laid out and they really teach you a lot about butterflies.

Leslie Melcher

A great place to reconnect with the essence of life, with exotic birds, a symphony of butterflies a great knowledgeable and caring staff and a small lunch place with perfect sandwiches. A winter trip into the happy tropics in Cambridge showed in.

Josie Simonini

Beautiful and edicational

Kiran Naveed

This place needs to add some more interaction for guests. It was my 4Th time here and the rice paper butterflies in 1000s were no where to be seen! I wouldn't pay more than $5 for the experience and I ended up paying $33 for me n 2 kids :(

Denise Murray

On entering an seeing the different types of insects was wow ok, but then when I went into the butterfly conservation as you open the door alot of butterfly come to welcome you. I was blown away by butterfly of so many colors an small birds I have even seen outside. I will love to visit again

Steff L

Went with my Parents, Sister, and nephews for Mother’s Day , and it was very educational. They had multiple different rooms with different live bugs, wall plaques, and posters. The butterfly room itself was very warm and humid (to be expected) so make sure you dress appropriately. This was a great experience for the whole family and was both fun and educational!

Leslie Lumley

Awesome place to take the family. My 6-year-old had a hard time sleeping the night before we went; she was so excited to go! In summer, the restaurant is worth the visit, alone! They serve local food and their own produce. The best burger I ever had was there. Even off-season, the pizza was delicious - obviously home-made. The gift shop is great, too!

KFThierry Fogang

Awesome place. Great Customer Service ????????

Patrick Bergsma

Beautiful place! Friendly staff, a nice variety of creatures, a small. Muesem of insects and a gift store.

2ManyGoats

Staff was great, and the kids loved it! Especially the bee hive

Wanderlust Digest

So I gave it 4 stars but only because I was expecting it to be bigger, other than that, it's great! We went through the entire place in 30min, so if your coming here, grab some snacks and enjoy the outside picnic area to get the most out of it. Beautiful butterflies, they land on you randomly which is super cool. We even had one stowaway with us when we left, had to bring the little guy back in. Birds, fish, butterflies, and a decent Cafe inside. A great way to spend a couple hours. Not super pricy either. Worth it if your driving through.

Brian Clennett

Great place to escape to the rainforest for a while. Beautiful plants, birds, butterflies and other really cool insects.

Bryan B

Really fun experience here. Kids will have a blast. Great place for photographers. Highly recommended. Will add more pics soon. Will definitely visit again.

Shelly Calvert

Amazing place to hang out with the butterflies

Tre Lala

Really peaceful and pretty little haven. The butterflies are beautiful and very active, you just have to be patient enough for one to land on you. Theres a waterfall and a pond that you can sit by. There's birds and different plants and insect displays. I think it's a bit overpriced. But overall it was a lovely visit.

Harshita Patel Kanani

Watch the butterflies as in their natural habitat. Lovely. We even saw butterflies hatching out of eggs. My daughter totally enjoyed it and even played with the pet millipede nicknamed "Milli" :)

Afzia Shareef

I had the chance to work the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory on November 27, 2021 and I can't tell you how great the staff was! As a wedding planner I really do enjoy working with onsite teams for my couples' weddings. We all have one common goal - making our clients' dream day a reality. Shannon, Alyssa and the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful. Taking care of the couple and vendors. They are so attentive to the point that since it snowed in the evening while everyone was enjoying the reception, they had someone shovel a path to the vendor's cars in the staff parking lot! Specifically the driver's side door! Much appreciated let me tell you :) Needless to say that I look forward to the next wedding I have there! Thank you for the great experience!

Henry Duval

The Butterfly Conservatory is a favorite destination for our family. The butterflies have a magical quality to them. There are many benches where you may sit and enjoy being in “nature” for a while. At the butterfly conservatory, we had a great time.✨

Paul Cuaso

Amazing place. The Greenhouse was definitely the highlight. Very well-maintained. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Maria Brum

Amazing experience! Amazing place! Extraordinary experience! I did not have time to fill in this part when I did the star rating. There's a lot of reasons why I went to this place. It was bit of drive from Toronto, but worth it . I had heard about it. All good. ???? The why: I have a family member who absolutely LOVES???????????????? BUTTERFLIES! I wanted to buy tickets for them, for their birthday, to experience real BUTTERFLIES. However I wanted to see for myself first!! It was so amazing that I bought Annual PASS,for my family member,as part of the birthday ????gift????That how great the experience was???????? A friend of mine, her highly functioning special needs teenager went. We all LOVED it. The interactiveness of the place, with the butterflies is incredible ! There's calmingness inside the place .I understand why people of all age ranges, from children to seniors and everyone in between love to go there. One can just even sit and hang out for a while inside the conservatory. Great for distressing, truly! Perfect therapy, Butterflies, birds, fish, loads of greenery, waterfall, other animals and so much more. Staff: They were Great! friendly, so nice and super helpful and loads of patience! The day I went, the girl at the front was super nice. Parking: One word description, loads of!(ok2 words), Huge. Food service section: The food area is big, bright. I love that in the warmer weather they can spill outside (must amazing), by opening the glass doors. Food was good. Improvement needed in this area: They need to keep in stock more of the bigger sellers(good problem to have) and everyday Staples like breads, bagels. More variety needed, choices needed and more items to add to sandwiches. Coffee was very good and the muffins (which is what I end up having). My friends love their sandwiches and fries.☺ Go! you will not regret !! Ps: I loved seeing a real tarantulas, easy, it not in the same area of the butterflies.???????????? See you in the warmer weather!

Simon Bonner

A hidden gem. We had a wonderful visit. Butterflies and other displays are incredible and staff was very welcoming and knowledgable. Food at the little cafe looked good. We didn't eat, but the menu was a step above the usual fast food. Well set up for social distancing too.

Danielle Durocher

Amazing place for a reasonable cost, my 15 month old kept squealing she was so happy! Even the snacks weren't overpriced - bonus!

Lu

A great place to spend some time with the family.

Holley Elliott

Such a beautiful place with the nicest staff! Really nice to go in the winter for a summer feeling adventure to get away from the cold! Very educational place perfect for family’s and couples.

Juanita Butler (Gift2feel)

Phenomenal. Exciting. Calming. Gorgeous. Perfect for any day and season. Such a beautiful warm inviting place. Staff are so friendly and educated.

Candice Grizzle

An amazing spot. Name sure to wear light clothing. It is really hot, which is great on a cold winter day. Must visit.

Jaash Singh

Absolutely incredible place. A tropical enclosure with many species of beautiful butterflies, birds, as well as turtles, and a side exhibit with really cool insects. Passionate and knowledgeable staff. Will come back again for sure in the future.

Susan Hennig

I would spend the night if I could. I love the conservatory and all its residents. I wish it were bigger!!

Katie Kish

We are regular visitors to the Butterfly Conservatory. My toddler and Elementary aged kids both love going to see all the different kinds of bugs and really love walking through the butterflies habitat. It's not very big so definitely take your time as you walk through let your kids stare at the flowers and the butterflies and the feeders for as long as they want because the path itself could take you less than 10 minutes to walk through at a fast pace. We went our weekday in the morning and there was only one other family inside of the butterfly area so it wasn't busy and it meant we could sit and look as long as we wanted. It is also super hot inside of the building where the butterflies are, so if you're wearing pants and a sweater and be prepared to take that sweater off.

Gord Rowland

This was well beyond my expectations, a great place to learn about butterflies and other natural wonders. Be prepared by dressing in layers, as you will find the main area very warm, a perfect habitat for butterflies, birds, and turtles sunning themselves. Other excellent displays are in air-conditioned rooms. This is a great place for families. Covid protocols are well thought out, making for a relatively safe outing for all. Staff are friendly and always willing to share their knowledge and enthusiasm. Highly recommended!

Val V

Fantastic place to revel in butterflies! There really is no way to go here and not see tons of butterflies and moths of every type!! It's a bit out of the way but had many amenities including a lovely café. Great educational experience as well. They even have an events room for booking your parties. All around a wonderful day!

Diana Levin

Beautiful place! They have nice butterfly and bugs museum there. My kid loved it! In conservatory they have butterflies, flowers and even small birds. Was very entertaining. We even pet a giant cockroach :)

Rahul Gupta

Nice for a short visit. Not very big. Kids will have good time.. Butterflies are amazing.

Ferdinand Bellavance

Very nice place to visit, they sell a very small picture frame ,very plane frame with one butterfly in size 8"×8".for $90.00 plus tax bring you around $100.00 dollars, very expensive, just plain black frame,in my opinion it way over price, I would have purchased one if it where around $40.00 dollars.

Michael Schmidt (mjsoctober)

Great fun and educational for everyone. The butterflies and the garden are beautiful. Great photography opportunities here. The indoor butterfly garden is very warm and humid so dress appropriately (layers) if you come in the cold season.

Richard Trojnar

Very nice way to spend an hour to 1 1/2 hrs. with kids or grandkids. Lots of butterflys flying free in the atrium and several other insect displays. Price is reasonable.

Stace Smith

A great place for families and children. The volunteer guides bring out cool critters that you can see and interact with. The butterflies are beautiful and fly all around you, and if you're lucky maybe even land right on you! There was a special event bug hunt outdoors when we went and it was a blast. Two big enthusiastic thumbs up.

Noodle Nation

A small tropical paradise that is worth visiting for a winter getaway, especially for families with children!

Jade p

Fun place for kids of all ages. Lots to learn and if your lucky you may see a butterfly hatch from a cocoon, amazing! We had the opportunity to eat bugs (tho we passed). The admission was a fare price, and the staff was great and helpful. There is a gift shop, washroom facilities and a party room.

This was such an amazing experience! Five butterflies actually sat on my daughter's shoulder, and it was so cool! I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a magical experience in nature ;)

Ali Mose

SOOOOOO beautiful. It's such a nice and warm environment. A great place for friends, families and crowds. It was pretty packed. The insects and birds are amazing. Ive done things that I never thought I'd do like touch roaches and worms that look like large maggots. I'd love to go again. Lovely place. Reason I'm rating it a 4 is just because the staff could have been better, in terms of being more approachable. They pretty much just stood around didn't explain things to get your interest other than a few people. It was comforting and inviting for the staff that did.

Steve Korber

Great little trip with our 2 year old, the museum has some live creatures and then the conservatory is really neat with all the butterfly flying around.

Matt Colacci

Overpriced but experience overall was ok. Kids enjoyed the visit. But you pay for 2 hrs and you have seen everything in 25mins...

Ali Baranpourian

Fantastic place. The indoor garden is quite breathtaking. I saw butterflies, birds, a couple of quails & even a huge turtle. Definitely recommended if you're visiting Cambridge.

Guy Dupuis

Great place to take the kids. Reasonable prices.

Jasmeet Singh

Its a small conservatory that houses butterflies of several species, a few live insects, a parrot, a quill possibly two and a few small sparrow like birds. Total time one could spend here depends on how long you would want to spend in the main conservatory area where the butterflies are. Entry for adults is $15 and kids is $7.5. Its open 7 days till 5pm. There is plenty of parking around the main building. There is a cloack room to hang your jackets and coats before you head out into warmer areas of the main building. The gift shop is small but nice place to take back a souvenir or two. All in all an ok one time visot place if you have kids visiting with you. A bit expensive for the amount of time you would spend there.

Alex Richard

Its a nice place to hang out with your kids. Things to note: It's a small place, do not expect a big set up. However its its beautifully maintained and you could easily spend 2 to 3 hours here and have fun It's very hot and humid inside, so dress accordingly. There is a nice cafe with descent menu inside. There is a gift place and souvenirs for purchase. Thank you.

melilycui

This place is such a nice escape in the Canadian winter. It is also really good place for families and dates! The garden has a nice cute path that lets you see a lot of different butterflies. I really liked how they had descriptions of butterflies outside of the garden and that gives you a more educated outlook when you see them.

mike crawford

Very beautiful. Very muggy inside to protect the insects so take your coat off.

Dylan

Really nice place. Wish it was bigger. It was really fascinating watching the big blue butterflies all fly after each other, sometimes they would glide right by you too!

Ashley Last

My son loved exploring around all the displays and learning about all different types of butterflies! He enjoyed walking through the sanctuary and seeing all the birds and butterflies flying around! Definitely will be back again in the future!

Lorena Bort

The butterflies are more active on a sunny day. Beautiful to watch.

Sarvjot Kaur

Beautiful ,warm place with wide varieties of butterflies.Helpful and friendly staff.Overall had a great visit to ???? Conservatory.

Luke Roberts

A wonderful greenhouse butterfly experience for both child and adult alike!!

Gera Stolk

Nice place to visit with little kids. Staff is very friendly and willing to explain . Had a nice story told to the kids @ 11 am. We took our time, had lunch in between in the cafe and spend in total 3 hours.

Bhakti Desai

Amazing place..really good place for kids to learn about butterfly..nice and clean..helpful and very trained staff..we enjoyed a lot..

Paul Reinheimer

Does what it says on the tin. Do you want to walk around a warm room full of butterflies, then this is the place. Nice little café.

Niroshan Udith Bandara

Great place to visit and something great to do indoors. The main interior room has different kinds of butterflies, birds, plants and a waterfall. Birds and butterflies roam throughout freely. Well maintained. Also has a small Cafe. Tickets prices are reasonable and has ample parking.

andrew berry

We enjoy coming to see the butterfly conservatory, my boys like the fish and turtles

Habib.

Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory was a wonderful place to see and learn about a wide variety of butterfly/moths and other insects and arachnids. They have a really cool exhibit and live displays of interesting insects from around the world inside. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, you could ask them almost anything and they're happy to inform! We spent some time inside admiring the flora, butterfly and birds flying around. It is really humid inside the conservation area so make sure you dress appropriately. They also have a display of the cocoons and metamorphosis. Fun place to take your family or go on a date!

Helen G

Nice experience overall. I only wish there were less people as it was pretty hard to maintain distancing.

Drayton Custom

Great for bug and butterfly lovers. Kids love it, lots of activities. Great reminder of summer time humidity in the middle of winter.

Holly Good

The conservatory is nice. It's hot and tropical and there are a lot of beautiful creatures. Warning though, do not eat at the cafe. It took an atrociously long time, was expensive and the food was not that good.

Lauren

Was great to go there and visit all the butterflies and see some insects. Very cool little place and like that it is not guided so you can just wander around. Took some good pictures and my clients enjoyed the experience. You can go at certain times if you would like a guide. Also the staff are very knowledgeable and were happy to answer questions. They have a little cafe you can have lunch at and prices are decent. They have a gift shop as well however it was a little pricey. Overall great couple hours spent here and my clients really enjoyed it. Would go again and would recomend.

Eric Hayton

Great spot to bring the family. Very accessible to wheelchairs. Keep in mind the butterfly area is well over 80 degrees and very humid. Where a light shirt and be aware that your camera lenses will be goofy for a bit.

Aura-Lee McDonald

A magical, educational afternoon with the friendliest staff! Thank you all for everything you did to help make our visit so memorable!

Francesca Porco (Frankie)

The butterflies are gorgeous and the birds are so fun to watch! I also very much enjoyed their insect exhibit. Just a tip, if you plan on coming here with children, don't let them pick leaves or scare the birds or touch the butterflies. It's rude and hard to watch.

Olgierd Wisniowiecki

Place has disappointed us. We drove an hour to get there only to find out that only tickets bought online are honoured. Young lady that was explaining this too us was very sorry about it. Unfortunately, that does not change the fact that we left disappointed. Not cool experience at all.

Jennette Reid

You're going to have a great time here regardless of age.. Especially if you go on a sunny day. There's so much to see and the butterflies are more active in the sunshine.

KiMAGIC KiMAGIC

Always enjoyable visit! Helpful personnel. Lots of butterflies to photograph! Large and informative displays. Recommend for families with small children.

Generationunnamed

Very nice place to get away for Abit! You will fall in love with the butterflies there! Very clean and they are very friendly people! You can bring in you camera and they support photography of the butterflies / birds! Awesome place 10 / 10

Lauryn Redman

My husband and I had the pleasure to have our enchanting wedding here. We got married at the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory this September 2020. We will remember it forever and a big thank you to Cayla and Shannon for making it happen. From the get go they were supportive and we cannot express how wonderful they were to work with. Thank you! Lauryn and Jean-Marc Racheter (September 2020)

Amy Hynd

Enjoyed the experiance. Wish other patrons would obey the social distancing rules. There were several wearing masks around their chin

rahu IT

Excellent place to check out I don’t think I need to write much... every picture will speak for itself. One place with blend of vacation education relaxation n much more ...LOL visit it and experience it

Paulo Carvalho

Kids loved the experience. They have pre arranged time slots now, it was not crowded and we could move around comfortably.

Nathan Sears

Step one to the perfect date, take her to the butterfly conservatory... there are no more steps. I love the gardening work, the water features, and the BUTTERFLIES! I really enjoy wandering around with my camera and practicing different techniques etc.

Dwayne Lau

A really neat place to spend a few hours among the butterflies. We have visited several times and my kids love it. For a fee you can tag, release and track a butterfly to help with research about their migration destinations

Les McAuslan

Terrific place for your children. Wandering through the Butterfly section and having them land on the kids is such an awesome experience for them. Also very educational with bugs as well.

Jan Mathew

Rip off. I mean for 14 bucks an adult, I was expecting more butterflies than what they have. Cafe was closed. Not worth the drive with little kids if you're coming from Toronto. The garden where the butterflies were is small, you can see all ends wherever you stand. Lots of plants but not very exotic, they could've planted a lot more flowers so it's more pleasing to the eyes. Will not be going back.

M LozS

It's such a small space. The entrance fee is pretty high for what you actually get to see. Either a lower fee or more space, which can be taken from the gift shop,( ironically feels more spacious than the butterfly enclosure) then this place will be somewhat worth. Went there, not going again.

mustafa sahin

I went for the first time. It's really beautiful. I would recommend

Colin Hardy

A nice conservatory with a good variety of butterflies, and a few birds flying around. There are some information rooms that give a lot of information on the different butterflies and moths, as well as some spiders, stick bugs, cockroaches and more! They have a space where you can see the butterflies emerge from their chrysalis and dry their wings from the first time. Great place to take a date!

Sam

Just remember when you go it's just one room. I suggest you just sit and relax and take it all in. It's very nice and if not overly busy very relaxing.

Mark Shibish

Beautiful little conservatory. Great experience but very short. After walking through the greenhouse area there is not much other activities to do. Parent with young child would probably be ok. So for $15 per adult ,not a good value. The chrysalis cafe was not the best. I recommend you waiting to eat once you leave.

Honest Review

One of Cambridge’s hidden gems. My kids loved it! Only problem was once it was time to go, getting the kids to leave was hard.

Jackson Kuruliak

Took a girl here on a date, She was so happy, it literally felt magical. Went in the middle of the weekday so it wasnt very busy but great way to kill a few hours before a movie or dinner.

Mary Schweiger

Amazing experience, very friendly and knowledgable staff, From the front door to education about new arrivals, loved the tricks Cherko did, to the great cafeteria food and staff.

Sriram Jagan

Beautiful place to visit in ontario. More lives staffs are really nice and clean washrooms and food court.

Luty Le

Really nice place for little ones. We had a wonderful time. Also staff is really friendly.

Cheyanne Lawhead

Gorgeous and still my favourite. I wish it would be a bit bigger so theres more space for the butterflies. Boyfriends first time going and he loved it.

Lilian Paredes

Great place to visit with the family ????

DZTaxes

Great place to admire God's beautiful creatures. Intimate atmosphere. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. While the butterfly's are supposed to be more active when it was sunny, they were quite active on a cold dreary day on October. Be forewarned, it is hot and humid in there, that is the climate the butterflies enjoy. Dress appropriately, there is an open coat room there as well.

scott mcvittie

Fantastic place! We had lots of fun! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable!

Linda Bowes

My 11 year old granddaughter loved it here as did we. We spent 2 hours there with a coffee break in the middle.

Charlene St Jean

Amazing place. Staff are awesome. Great place for kids.

Antoine Saleh

Absolutely amazing conservatory. There was such a variety of plants, butterflies, and gorgeous flowers to keep me busy for nearly and hour and a half. It is reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly. I've never been before so my over all first impression exceeded my expectations. I also love that they have a pet parrot that is used for advertising and is placed inside of the actual butterfly conservatory.

Eric Hiebert Rempel

We booked our 2 hour time slot, and had a very enjoyable time. The main area was full of exotic plants and many butterflies and some birds. It is very warm, so we took our jackets back to the car. There are nice benches to sit and watch. There were staff working in the area where butterflies were emerging and they answered any questions we had. We learned more in the two display areas featuring butterflies and insects. Two hours was plenty to see everything, although it is nice to just be in the tropical butterfly area. We didn't try the cafe.

Mel B (The Amateur Gamer)

Had a good time at the butterfly conservatory. There were lots of beautiful butterflies flying around, lots of interesting insects, and staff was helpful. I just wish it was a bit cheaper.

Jeff Johnson

I miss the summer. This is a nice green oasis to recharge the batteries and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

nick varacalli

They are following the government COVID mandate that allows discrimination. I will never visit this place. Just because the government forces you to do something, doesn't mean you should for it and allow discrimination. Stand up for your rights and your customers rights.

Candace Perry

Always a great place to visit, especially with children. I have been here 4+ times, but this was my first visit since the pandemic. I was a little concerned about the lack of social distancing at times, but everyone were wearing masks at least. Good food in the cafe, and safety measures were on point. Definitely recommend!

Qinglin Meng

Kids love the place. When butterflies land on thier shoulders, they cheers in excitement. They have guided tour, kids are allowed to touch different kinds of bugs, give them goosebumps and laughter.

Jennifer D

Too small. Not enough butterflies. Updated review: thank you for offering a return trip to the conservatory. We will for sure visit and am changing my review to 4 stars because of their great customer service! Once I return from the trip I can update again to reflect.

Teresa Bragado

First time at ANY butterfly conservatory! It is VERY HOT inside so dress appropriately. It was nice learning about all the different species and walking through as so many flew around you.

jiaxin yu

A good place visit with kids in Winter time

Andrew Jones

We've been here a number of times over the last few years and the kids always have a great time. The price is reasonable and the kids have fun. As an added bonus, the food options are a little better then the standard fare (ie, you can select from more than just hotdogs, hamburgers, and fries). Docking one star because I have found some special events lacking. For instance, the activities at Wool Bear Weekends were a little disappointing.

Maria Cadavid

Lovely. If you love humid, hot tropical environments and butterflies you can't miss visiting here. It's really worth the trip.

Jenny H

Great place to visit with small children!! The place is small enough to walk around within an hour or two. Very peaceful and tranquil to enjoy an afternoon with many butterflies around you. Stroller friendly!

Ashraf Radwan

it was very sweet and pretty. the kids loved it. It seemed the parrot in there didn't look too happy though.

Tina Jaklic

A wonderful place to spend a couple of hours. Especially nice in the winter to visit a warm tropical jungle.

Ryan U

What a great spot! Friendly staff upon entering. Covid precautions in place. Everyone seemed to be following the rules. Very informative and interesting displays of butterfly's, insects, moths, spiders etc. Good educational experience and well laid out. The conservatory with the butterflys was really neat. Had some extremely colourful butterflys land on me. Neat experience. Helpful and pleasant staff throughout. Took about a half hour/forty mins to go through. Definitely a spot to check out if you have never been.

Dana Goldberg

Took a day trip to Cambridge with my family and stopped by here. The employees were super nice and informative, giving us the proper information regarding the area and changes due to Covid-19. Butterflies were beautiful and it's obvious they are in a safe environment.

John Horgan

Nice place for butterflies who seemed to be tired. Stall were very friendly

Irene Galinski

Beautiful.... lots of butterflies, birds, little rain forest, plants and waterfall are stunning plus a few more insects and spiders

David Ryan

I went during the Egypt and East Africa exhibit. Wonderful space to enjoy the butterflies and so many I have never seen before. A very peaceful and relaxing place. I went early in the day mid week, so it was not very busy but the butterflies were very active. As time passed a number of people with children and grandchildren arrived. Kids seem to find it fascinating as much as adults. The exhibit rooms have more to explore if your interested in more than just butterflies I am not from the area but I would stop again.

Greg Singer

A bit of a hidden gem in Cambridge. Qhiteta large conservatory with hundreds of moths, butterflies, and birds as well as some fish and turtles. The volunteers are knowledgeable and really great with kids. I would give 10/10 except that it is a bit on the pricey side: about $50 including tax for a family of four.

Josh Willemsen

Beautiful gardens with various African species of plants and butterflies. Just wish it was a bit bigger because of how beautiful it was. The staff was very informative and knew a lot about butterflies and the information surrounding. Great for all ages if you are a nature nerd like me.

Darryl Offer

I've been to the one in Niagara Falls many times but this was my first time here. It was a bit smaller but still a fantastic facility. Very informative and lots of butterflies and birds flying around your head.

Beth Attwood

Lovely staff, all protocols being adhered to.Great experience, with on line reservations.

Deb Longthorne

Many displays available to look at before actually entering the conservatory. Inside the conservatory there are many species of butterflies and birds that are free to flutter around at will. Some even land on folks wandering through. Well worth an hour or two to check it out. Parking, lunch counter and gift shop on site as well.

Stephanie Grimond

Beautiful plants, birds and butterflies! Quite a short little walk around, but you're able to go through more than once!

Alexandra K.

Just bought a family membership and have already been many times with my 16-month old. Great for this age! If anything, it's a nice warm place to run around during colder months, but he also loves watching the birds, picking up worms with the spoons and looking for turtles. We've enjoyed good homemade food in their cafe for lunch (though maybe a bit pricey?) and the staff are exceptionally friendly and always willing to chat and answer questions. We look forward to many more visits throughout the year!

Craig Clark

I just had the pleasure of watching my nephew & his bride get married underneath a waterfall while surrounded by butterflies ! If you are looking for an absolutely gorgeous and unique venue, I highly recommend it. ????

Charity More

Very beautiful place, the greenhouse is very lush and has many places to stop & rest to take in the scenery & butterflies. It also has a great cafe & gift shop. There are other attractions within the facility with lots of information about a variety of bugs and butterflies within Ontario and North America.

Angela Paul

Friendly staff, lots of parking, nice little cafe and outside eatting area for when or if you get hungry with reasonable prices, walk through the "jungle" and explore at your own pace and there is a few other rooms with really cool stuff and live bugs as well and a small gift shop with reasonably priced items as well.

Dale Bown

Love this place always nice to see the flutterbys nice way to escape the rigors of the week

Elizabeth J

Beautiful place! They have nice displays of all the different types of butterflies. I had no idea this place even had an indoor spot with actual butterflies flying around. Felt like I stepped into the amazon rain forest. Pretty cool experience, but be warned it is really humid so tie your hair up or bring a hat if you don't want your hair to frizz! Cons: This is entirely personal but I only mention this because fear of spiders is common - They have a section were they have butterflies on display as well as big hairy spiders that look like tarantulas. I walked in thinking this is only butterflies. Seeing clear glass cages with giant hairy spiders (alive) put me on edge and I left that particular section. So be warned if you hate spiders.

Janet Mayhew

I was there with my daughter and 2 year old grandson and even though he is young he seemed to enjoy the experience. The staff were friendly. I found the gift shop quite expensive and choices for little boys were limited. There seemed to be a lot of children who were running around and scaring the butterflies. The chance of having a butterfly land on my grandson was nil to none.

Hessam Kalbasi

This place exceeded our expectations. Beautiful collection of insects and butterflies. Highly recommended!

Randi

Great visit there, lovely to see different species of butterflies! I really enjoyed it!

Lindsay Cociardi

Small but good size for the kids. More than butterflies which was cool. :) I like that there is a little cafe on site.

Lydia Ivancic

Very nice experience. All the staff was super nice and even brought out a butterfly wing to let the kids touch to see how it feels. Its an easy walk through the actually butterfly exhibit and they also have 2 other galleries with framed butterflies and insects to go through. Fun for the whole family. There are benches throughout the building to sit and watch the butterflies. Buy your tickets online beforehand because they might not accept walk ins at busy times. Lots of parking available on site. Really great experience and lots of fun trying to find all the butterflies and birds in the exhibit!

Kirija Chelliah

Nice place to visit with kids! Don't expect to stay more than an hour as it's not a huge place. It would be nice if they can extend the viewing space or add more interesting things to see. For the price paid as family , it wasn't worth but kids still like it so we're happy ????.

Jason Hauser

I can't say enough good things about this place, the staff are very enthusiastic, made our trip a great experience, and you can tell they love their jobs! The atrium with the butterflies has a fairytale like beauty and is the prefect spot to escape a cold day and take some pictures.

Lovelife Always

Wonderful place for a small intimate Wedding. The staff provided excellent service for the meals. I'd recommend this location in the future.

Paul Sweeting

Took the perfect amount of time to see everything they had to offer (to keep my 2-year-old's attention.) I recommend walking through the actual butterfly sanctuary last, as it's the most exciting for kids and leads right into the gift shop (of course!)

Kristina Cassarln

Beautiful place!!!! Water falls. Turtles.. birds. Fish.. lotsnof butterflies they land on you. Small place u can do th3 whole.placw in 30 min and redo over and over

Melanie Palmer

Butterflies terrify me but this is a great space to relax a little with them!

Garry Vlogs

Really nice place if u want see different type of butterfly species from all over the birds .

Trish Johnson

I learned so much and what a lovely saunter along the path with the birds and butterflies all around ! wonderful way to spend 2 hrs! I will be returning with my family!

Megan M

I've been here multiple times, and I enjoy bringing my friends here.

rosa 2014

Expecting a little bigger. My hubby took us with our little baby as he loves butterflies. We finished to see everything in 1 hour..so it was ok.

Tom Pellar

My mistake leaving a one star, it should have been a 5 star. We all really enjoyed visiting the Conservatory

Matthew Aitken

Had a wonderful time with the butterflies! We started with lunch at the Chrysalis Cafe. The food was good and we enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching the airplanes zoom by as they approached the tarmac of the nearby airport. The cafe is a great addition to the conservatory. We also enjoyed the exhibits and live insects. They were very educational. The main event - the tropical garden - was extraordinary. We loved walking around surrounded by free flying butterflies, birds, and a couple turtles (not flying). The staff was very helpful and informative. Overall, had a great time and would suggest anyone (who is not terrified by insects) to go!

David Wong

Great place for young kids or butterfly lovers. Not too large and not too small, an excellent way to spend a morning. The walk through butterfly garden is beautiful and filled with butterflies and bird. the staff there and friendly and knowledgeable. There's a little cafe too open during Covid protocols.

Kiki Riki

Wonderful place to visit. Beautiful, peaceful and great for the soul. There's lots to learn and discover! The monarch tagging was very special and being in the conservatory with the butterflies and birds was wonderful!

Beverley Ahrens

Was married here many years ago and it was amazing. Now I bring my children here. I love wandering through the conservatory listening to the waterfall--it is like entering another world and so pleasant to be surrounded by plants, flowers, butterflies and birds. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The cafe makes delicious food and the exhibits are interesting. **be prepared for the conservatory as it is very warm and humid (there is a use-at-your-own-risk coatcheck).

代诗濛

The staff here were really helpful and gave us lots of interesting information. The butterflies were so beautiful. They also have a small gallery.

Fraser Stalkie

The timed ticket program works perfectly. Lots to see for little eyes. Affordable and fun!

Amrit Sachdeva

This place is wonderful! My boyfriend and I were greeted by the most lovely lady at the front desk (I wish I caught her name). I would like to personally thank her if she is reading this - her enthusiasm and joy at the front desk, throughout the building and while serving us lunch was a huge part of our experience. The whole time we just kept telling each other how kind she was and how fun the conservatory was knowing that people who care for the both the visitors and the butterflies work there. We will definitely be coming back to this beautiful place. Furthermore, this place was therapeutic in itself - we could not stop circling the conservatory. We went around countless times soaking in the beauty and not once did we feel rushed to leave. Such a wonderful place. One of my new favourite spots for sure.

Melanie O'Brien

Beautiful place to wander. The butterflies are gorgeous, lots of learning, and the staff is very engaging. The little cafe has delicious simple food and drinks to enjoy at a descent price.

Chantal Lauzon

So many beautiful butterflies (and moths!). I never thought I would think a moth was so pretty, but there were some atlas moths who were fresh out of their cocoons and they were breathtaking. All of the employees I interacted with were very friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to answer my random questions about winged creatures! It was a lovely place to visit on a Sunday afternoon

Nat

Went here after a trip to St. Jacob's Market on the weekend. Kids had a wonderful time admiring the butterflies. Very picturesque with all of them floating around. Staff were very informative and helpful.

Paul SJ

A beautiful collection of moths, butterflies and other insects on display and the tropic butterfly area is amazing. Even kept the littles attention.

Pawsnpose

This conservatory is small but so great! It has many butterflies and birds to see. You can do a walkthrough multiple times which is perfect to see new things missed the first time. They have a place to eat and also educational areas. Had a really good time visiting.

Erika Van Holst

Butterflies, plants, and warm weather! A great way to escape that yucky weather outside and enjoy summer time creations. Attended a bridal shower here which was so lovely! While the food was limited, the time through the actual conservatory was fantastic! Staff were knowledgeable with all the questions we had as well!

Mishal M

Beautiful hidden gem! Highly recommend visiting here :)

Sameed Ahmed

This is a wonderful place to visit! You can easily spend 2 hours. There's a butterfly exhibit, insect exhibit, and a butterfly habitat that is indoors and climate controlled. It feels like you're in a tropical area. There are also some animals in the habitat. On special occasions, they have a live insect exhibit, some which you can have placed on your hand! They also have a free coat check, free parking, bathrooms, cafe, and gift shop.

Mary Trenty

For the price of the adult ticket at 13.25 plus tax, it is not worth it! The conservatory itself is small with only a handful of types of butterflies and birds. It can get pretty crowded. The staff they have are also not bery friendly and kid oriented. We drove from mississauga and this was a complete disappoint!

Radeen Sharif

Do not go! Crazy people go there! Once a man screamed at me for no reason. Another time a woman screamed at me and my friend several times and stalked us and said we were touching the butterflies (which we weren't).

S.A. DONAHUE

FAMILY DAY 2019...Our Family consists of 2 Adults, 2 Seniors and 2 Kids under 12. It was decided to visit the conservatory at the last minute because kids enjoy "bugs" I offered to pay the admission, even though I had no idea of prices. Crowds were high and even the check-in was busy, so I didn't have time for second thoughts on the admission prices. I asked THREE times for the young lady to repeat the cost, as I thought my hearing was off. No, I heard right $80.00 (yes, that's EIGHTY DOLLARS) with programs extra!!! Yes, the conservatory is nice, but REALLY $80.00?? We don't live in Toronto or New York, so I found those prices ASTRONOMICAL!! WHY COULDN'T THEY OFFER A FAMILY RATE? After promising the kids, how can a pensioned Grandma disappoint them and turn away?

Jenny Odendahl

Enjoy coming to the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory. The staff are welcoming and helpful

Dylan O

Wish there was more to look at. But it was amazing and i want to go back again

Rosie Kathy Szentirmai

THE BEST STAFF EVER! I flew in from ITALY to visit my family and I have never met such friendly and nice staff. ALL THE GIRLS ARE GREAT from the woman at the info desk, to the woman who told us info about the owls, to the girls inside the conservatory who explained the parrot who is 7 years old and let me hold him.. and all the butterflies. THIS STAFF IS THE BEST! MY COMPLIMENTS TO THEM: HAPPY they love their job and are friendly and so informative !! AND THE KIDS LOVE THEM ALL! THANKS LADIES !!

TJ

Very educational and beautiful attraction.

Kathy-Ann Halstead

It was nice but I thought it would have alot more butterflies. The garden is very lush and beautiful though.

John Moyes

Took our 1-year old daughter and she had an absolute blast (and so did we). With her being so young we were nervous she wouldn't enjoy it, but she was completely mesmerized by all of the butterflies and birds. She couldn't stop pointing at them with a big smile. Looking forward to our next visit!

Mike Schneider

Staff was friendly and the conservatory itself was amazing. The price is well worth it. The only disappointing part was the gift shop - for some reason, they decided to go with butterfly-print themed everything so it looked like a store an old lady would spend hours in rather than having much of anything entomology-related.

Jane MacKay

Educational and wonderful to walk among the flying butterflies. Be prepared to be quite warm inside as it is humid for the various floral and fauna.

Lauren Ferraz

We recently hosted our Children's Christmas Party here and have nothing but wonderful memories! Thanks to the staff for being prompt and attentive to our specific event needs. The staff met with us prior to the event to walk through the space and understand our intentions for the evening. They tailored the evening to accommodate our guests and activities, while making sure we all got the full experience. The staff the night of was excellent and took pressure off our staff so we could enjoy the event. The food was served on time, the quality of the food was great, the facility was clean, and they even cared about the small details. We would recommend this venue to anyone looking to host a party. For reference we had 100 people in attendance (half adults half children) and the party room fit us well. We look forward to coming back!

Nicole Janssen

Amazing ...great place for anyone . But a perfect place for the kids ♡

Jeremy Trueman

Wow such a great variety. Gorgeous art work, smaller terrariums, and that butterfly room is amazing. The plant life was just fantastic. Biggest monstera plants I've seen.

Wendy Coote

We had a marriage proposal in the family here. Booked a private hour with a butterfly release. Was wonderful. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

Adriana Pardo

Beautiful place for kids and family!

Elizabeth Winchester

Our family loves to visit the Butterfly Conservatory. We booked a timed visit online to adhere to enhanced public health measures and loved to see so much activity inside. The two hour time was perfect and allowed up two full loops inside with visits to exhibit areas as well. It's an affordable family outing that kids of all ages can enjoy.

Corey Sly

Drove from Barrie and was not disappointed. Who wouldn't love a tropical greenhouse with a river and waterfall, fish, turtles, finches, and butterflies. Not to mention two smaller exhibits with other insects, bugs, spyders, etc... My whole family thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would go again, it was worth it just to watch my daughter.

P C

What a nice relaxing, interesting visit. And warm on a blustery cold day. It is a little small but mostly in the context that it would be nice to see a bigger space given what a great job they've done with this one. Everyone was extremely nice. The price is a little high but not a show stopper. Definitely give it a try.

It is a 2 hour max visit. If you are lucky enough, you might have a butterfly or two land on you. Great photo opp. There are a couple of turtles in the pond, along with the koy. You will see quail scampering around along with some very colorful bird's. Bathrooms are clean and there is a small place to grab a bite.(I would suggest bringing a snack to keep your costs down)

Very small. The buterflies were beutifull but the place was so small so we lost interest after less than an hour. The entrance ticket price was too high.

Wayne Karges

Well organized with all covid safety protocols in place. Limited visitors and timed reservations

TL Higgins

Visitor safety / social distancing ensured a great visit without feeling pressured. Butterflies/moths in abundance, so colourful. Cafe pricing good as is the food. Very good experience

My kid was really happy and kept talking about our visit for days. They have a lot of different butterflies. Worth the visit. They have a nice gift store as well. Staff were also polite and the place is clean.

The Cambridge Butterfly Conservation was a great day outing. We went on a cold day in January to benefit from the warmth of the conservatory's controlled climate and had such a good time, that we stayed for longer than originally planned. The main room where most of the buildings tenants live is a spectrum of habitats that are visually soothing, audibly calming and relaxing to be in. One of the more popular areas is the waterfall area, where there is a bridge and a little pond. Part of the fun is trying to count the turtles, while another part of the fun is being in such a relaxing space. The area can be navigated relatively quickly, but the joy is in slowing down and trying to catch every little detail. There are also thrilling moments when visitors are rallied to witness butterfly releases. I think we paid about $15. to get in as we don't have a membership, but for that we got: Butterflies, birds, turtles and exhibits. We roamed the gift shop, visited the snack stop, utilized the free cloak room, and parking was free. You should go to this place.

Friendly staff taking all the proper precautions

We love it here. I upgraded my day pass to a season pass as my son loved it and he is still under the age of 3 so he is free ! Great place to go in the winter to feel some warmth and experience greenery !

Friendly environment for young kids. Beautifully laid out path within the butterfly area. Many things for the kids to explore. My kids especially loved the story time.

Small but comfortable, you can spend between 1 and 2 hours enjoying the butterflies and birds, take your time, if not you will be going around it in 15 minutes but not taken advantage of the experience. The little space to watch the butterflies hatch out is a good chance to get them to get in your cloth or hands once they do their first fly. Really nice pictures can be taken inside with the family. Outside the 2 expositions of insects and butterflies are interesting to look at. Price should be a little lower. Or at least have a family package, since it can be pricy when bringing a bigger family.

Very nice experience. My grandson had a great time

My mom told me I was handsome like a butterfly, but this place is a very close second! Great for the kids!! Staff is amazing

Zachary Burlap

Dozens of butterfly species in a tropical environment, and rooms of mounted insect specimens.

This was SUCH a hidden gem and absolutely beautiful all the way through! A gorgeous habitat for so many amazing butterflies, birds, and other cute creatures! The absolute friendliest staff was around every corner, and we'll definitely be back soon! ????????

Love this place. The butterflies ????are so magical. The tropical scenery is so peaceful. The staff are so friendly and kind. The facility is nice a spacious but not overwhelmingly big to tired you out by walking. Went on a Sunday hand there was plenty of parking because you have to buy tickets for a specific time slot. Great place for kids and entire family!!! ????

It's unfortunate when businesses almost double their prices after covid but provide the exact same attractions. Takes about 30 minutes to see everything.

This place is sooo cool! Typically you need to prebook an appointment to ensure a spot, but we were able to walk right in. It was such a display of colour and diversity. Mother Nature has painted some beautiful specimens and thanks to such a place, we got to curate the gallery of her finest works!

We went here for our anniversary this weekend and it was fantastic! Very covid friendly and we had so much fun. Plenty of butterflies and birds to see, I also really enjoyed seeing all the big tropical plants in which I have smaller versions at home!

The gift shop has the BEST popsicles I’ve ever had! Also, the butterflies are pretty.

My sister suggested we take some guests to the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory and it was a wonderful place. We had lunch first and they offered a surprisingly healthy selection and everyone seemed happy with what they ordered, and mine was very tasty. We went into the Conservatory and it was so amazing! I hadn't figured I would find it that interesting, but I was wrong. It was very interesting, beautiful and educational too. They have it delightfully set up and the small birds and butterflies were all fascinating too. Before we left, we went into the gift shop and it was great too, we all left with a few wonderful things, one of mine being a lovely necklace. I look forward to taking a few friends here in the near future!

Place was very nice, but $48 for my wife, my son and I is a bit much for what ended up being half an hour of content.

Andie Maxwell

Jeremiah Vanderlaan

Spent a rainy day here with my girlfriend and it was a lot of fun! Had two butterflies land on me. I am now the chosen one. Great place for a date. Great place for kids.

Jody

My wife and I have enjoyed our trips the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory. We have brought our grandchildren here a number of times. We used to go to the Niagara Falls Conservatory until we found the Cambridge location. The staff are great.

Zachary Leger

Very pleasant experience! The indoor garden is fantastic and the butterfly selection was great. We did the circuit several times, and saw something different each time. The galleries were good, too.
