This Museum corresponds to the category of Museum.
It is an ok museum. I think it would have been neat if you could sit in one or two of the artifacts. Or at least have them open so you can get a nice look inside and not just through the glass. It seems like they had a lot of airplanes so they made a museum, it's a lot of unseen potential. This could be a very cool museum but it's just as basic as it can be. I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they are a very die hard plane enthusiast.
A great little museum with a surprising number of planes, helicopters, and even hot air balloons! Interesting stuff for kids and adults!
Interesting collection spanning more than a Century of Flight in Alberta.
Nice place to visit for any Airplane enthusiasts!
The Hangar Flight Museum, formerly known as the Aero Space Museum of Calgary is a museum in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The museum is located immediately south of the Calgary International Airport. Over 24 aircraft are on display, as well as 58 aeronautical engines. A section details the Canadian space programs. Archives containing documents about aeronautics are also located on the premises. The museum was founded in 1975 by aviation enthusiasts and former World War II pilots. It showcases the history of aviation and space technology of Western Canada.
Beautiful planes. Thank you for preserving this history for other generations to enjoy.
There was a decent amount of aircraft to see, but there wasn't alot for children to do, merely a coloring corner and a small coin operated ride. The exhibits were very informative, and we learned a lot of the local veterans. It was cool to climb up the ladders to peer inside a few of the aircraft, but not being able to touch or interact with many of the exhibits left much to be desired. This is a good museum for the avaiation enthusiast.
Fantastic museum with some really interesting history on both Canadian and Calgary aviation.
One of my most favourite places in the world, cannot wait to be able to go again
Very good collection I went to this place with my parents and a friend and as my old man is Ex-Navy and my friend is Ex-Army it was fun to experience this place with them even though some of the things they were saying was going from top of our heads as me and my Mom both were blank faces when both my Father and my friend were trying to explain us about Machine Guns or other stuff but still it was fun
Really great collection of airplanes commercial and military. I think everyone would enjoy visiting not just aviation fans.
It was a fun and very informative museum with awesome planes but it was very short.
Such an educational venue and also a cool place to host an event. Inexpensive and professionally done.
A fun place to take kids (and adults alike) who love airplanes!
Close to airport and had a great history of some pilots flying in WWII
A fun place to take the kids
You can see several flights from the past. It doesn't take long to look around.
Fascinating History of aeroplanes here!
Huge and amazing museum. Lots of old planes and helicopters are there. Even The Lancaster is there.
Grateful family place for something different to do
A great little gem hidden in "plane" sight. Wish they had longer hours but all in all a great slight of history!
The price is very high for very little to see. The military museum is way more interesting. It was good if you're not on a budget and there's a lot of local history involved but it isn't exactly worth the regular entry price. Free on remembrance day.
Big collection of planes and historic information
Great museum. Good variety of exhibits
It is a quiet, quaint museum. The staff are very friendly and we were able to go inside a bomber plane. Myst see!
Great spot in Calgary to learn some history, see some cool planes, and be around a lot of aviation enthusiasts. Would be great if they had more displays that one could sit in and experience aviation, especially for the kids. Maybe one day.
Nice place to learn about aircrafts and see some.world war.vintage aeroplanes
Really interesting history on the displayed aircraft and people associated with them. Part of the museum is undergoing renovations and had we been able to tour the whole place, I would have rated it a 5 star visit.
It has a very good collection of aircraft for a small aviation museum. Provides great detail on Calgary ' s aviation history. We'll worth a visit.
Nice place with lot of history. Should be on your list.
Such an excellent place for a WEDDING! We had a really amazing time getting married at the Hangar Museum, and our guests loved exploring the museum following the ceremony. Herb is a really amazing guy to work with, he knows every piece of the museum top to bottom and was essential in having our special day go so well. I highly recommend the museum for events!
Amazing! Went here for the Father's day event and being able to enter in some of the historic aircraft was so very cool.
During the winter one of the large hangers is closed, so you're best off to visit during the summer time.
Nice stop for anyone who is interested in aviation. Decent displays of both ex military and civilian aircraft and some interesting local aviation history.
A nice museum in am historic setting. Highlights are the new Hawker Hurricane, an Avro Lancaster and a DeHavilland Vampire. Lots of engines and even a VR experience with Oculus Rift.
Very interesting museum with friendly staff. Stopped here for a couple of hours before our pre-flight COVID test that was a 2 min drive away! Highly recommend checking out a room (located on the same wall as the bathrooms) that has detailed information on each station in the Lancaster plane, then go look at the actual plane in the hangar!
The staff is very friendly. A good place to see Airforce artifacts. You will also learn whom many of Calgary's roads are names after.
I would recommend this place to my family and friends as it is a great place to learn new things.
such an amazing place to visit, and to see all the civilian and military planes up close ! I especially liked walking up on the 2nd floor, and seeing both the engines, as well as all the planes from above. if possible, I would encourage you to see the planes in the hanger next door to the main museum, there are a couple which you can see the insides !
Amazing history , you can touch!
an excellent place to come and learn about aircraft history for both the adults and kids. it's absolutely superb for the kids. A great family outing. location is just North of McKnight off of Deerfoot easy location to find and lots of available parking. they have a wonderful store where you can buy toys Maps posters models everything you can think of in regards to airplanes and aircraft history.
Had a visit on a very rainy day and enjoyed the museum very much. There were quite a few items on display and they were arranged well. A very eclectic mixture of aircraft and artifacts. Went specifically looking for the Lancaster and would like to have spent some time looking at the inside but it is closed and outside viewing is all I got. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend to anyone wanting to see some unique aircraft and artifacts.
Small and cozy aviation museum. Half an hour to see everything.
This museum is a wonderful little hidden gem in Calgary. I stopped by here right before my flight out, and it was very much worth the trip. They have two hangar areas with all varieties and sizes of airplanes. Some planes even have a small ladder next to them so you’re able to go up and see the cockpit. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone with an interest in aviation and/or aviation history.
Great museum, nice variety of aircraft and displays. Was not too busy so I was able to get plenty of pictures. The CF100 was out for restoration. Nice store with tee shirts, pictures and items for kids.
Awesome staff a great way to spend an hour or two and experience some history.
Aircraft on display are historical and there is so much to inspire. One needs to take time and absorb.
Very nice museum. Lots of civil and military history here.
Not bad..
Friendly staff, well maintained museum with lost of available information!
Great place. Lots of interesting hisrity
This is awesome place to take dad's
Worth it - (yes - a little pricey) but do your research on the history of planes first... You and the kids will have something real to experience
It was really intriguing and I learned something new, which is the point of places like this. It gave me this overwhelming feeling of nostalgia. I grew up in Winnipeg on the air base back in the 90s, so seeing some of these classic birds was satisfying. Lovely spot to go to with your family, then grab lunch near by.
Awesome. Clean. Great family fun.
My nephew is crazy about airplanes and I am crazy about my nephew. That is the reason why the two of us visited this place and did not leave disappointed. I am sure that any other site with airplanes would do just as good but let us not underestimate the human factor. The staff there was friendly and quite knowledgeable.
We went to an antique sale there which was a bust but we were able to walk around the museum which was interesting
5 stars because Google didn't let me put 6
My son is an Air Cadet (538 Buffalo) and does parade here sometimes. He enjoys the location over the normal school. It's always a good time whether we visit for cadets, on our own or for robotics.
So authentic. Air planes galore. Great history lesson.
Great for grade 6 air and flight field trips, or just a visit down hisory lane.
It's a good place for the aviation enthusiasm here in Calgary.
If you love aviation or just interested in beautiful planes and history, this is an unmissable place. Loves everything about it. Great collection of planes and engines. Really good experience.
My boys loved it! So reasonable and staff were very friendly!
Fun way to spend Father’s Day. Wheels and wings and the beautiful sunshine. Saw some great old cars and planes. Took a tour of the Lancaster bomber and went for a helicopter ride too. Only complaint was from my son who was hoping for some die cast models in the gift shop.
Great! Our tour guide was super funny and knew what he was talking about! I would definately come back! Wpuld reccomend to anyone who wants to spend a couple of hours looking at antique planes. 100% famiky friendly, and you can even go inside some of the planes! If you havent been, go! If you have already went, go again!
I've gone here a few times and I always find something new to marvel at. The staff volunteers are so knowledgeable about the pieces and you can't help but get sucked into the history of the planes. I highly recommend this place for aviation buffs and children who are interested in the history of flight.
Great place for historic info
Interesting place, not too big but with a wide variety of planes!
Nice place. Doesn't take more than 2 hours to visit. Tons of great information if you like history and aviation of course!
Immaculate shining collection of WW2 aircrafts. Had a great time! 4 stars because for non aviation enthusiast the collection might appear limited.
Very cool
Best experience to learn about flight in Calgary! The people of Calgary should be proud museum.
Good displays with informative signage. Managed to get out there using train and bus service from the city.
Nice variety of planes and information. Not huge but give yourself an hour to spend here
Cool little aviation museum.
Good place for people who are interested in airplanes. Kids also enjoy different types of planes.
This place has a limited inventory but really decent collection of ww planes. please go and check them out.
Amazing aircraft displays, a huge amount of information to process, large facility, great staff.
It's really nice to see all the old age flights ????️????????and it's detailed parts. Should really appreciate the volunteers, have enough, same enthusiasm to explain in detail even at end of the day. Really appreciate it. ????????✈️????????️. If you are interested in knowing the history of wars and Canadian participation in those wars. Besides, museum has tried in engaging the kids their best.
Been here twice and its awesome.
Nice collection of well preserved aircraft. The hurricane is amazing but the lancaster is really impressive. I wish you could hop into it, but you have to be ok with just the VR movie of a WWII mission.
Nice friendly air museum. Not a huge collection but it is an intimate aviation experience. If you want to sit in an F86 or see the inside of a WW2 Lancaster this is the place to go!
We held our wedding ceremony here and it was amazing, also Herb the event coordinator was so helpful, he really made the museum look perfect for us.
Nice surprise! Lots to see
I love history and my husband loves history and airplanes. We thoroughly enjoyed this museum and highly recommend it if in Calgary.
2 small stadiums but full of historic information !
Awesome little stop! My son loved it and being able to sit in the aircraft. Great friendly staff and volunteers as well!
A truly fantastic place to visit! The museum is great for aviation and history buffs alike. It is really a shame how little attention this location receives. Visiting provides the opportunity to marvel at the engineering of aircraft and recall the valiant sacrifices of those Canadians that came before us. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Might be a bit boring for young children if they are not into planes, but adults and older children will certainly appreciate all this place has to offer. Can't wait to visit again!
It was a great museum and very informative. The Ace training centre was a hit with my children.
Good selection of planes, friendly knowledgeable volunteers, clean environment
It was cool to see all the planes, and they had a cool plane simulator set up on Xbox Kinect.
Elderly fellows are very friendly to explain everything for visitors.
We like the Hanger Flight Museum.
Really enjoyed this visit here, great displays you can explore on your own. 8 and 11 year olds really enjoyed learning about these great old planes. Lots of questions generated and genuine interest at seeing such great examples of engineering and learning about the pilots that flew these crazy aircraft in the early days. Lots of fun for the whole family and the price was amazing, only $25 for a family of four!
Great for all ages, learn about history while seeing the planes.
Flight. A little bit of the old and a little of the new. A nice place to see… WAIT A AVRO LANCASTER BOMBER!!!!!!! Wow this place is awesome. Bring the kids, call Grandma, sound the alarm and take some pictures.
Absolutely wonderful museum, I highly suggest it to anyone who loves planes, or likes them too!
Grwat place to look at airplanes and learn a bit about history.
Fun place to take kids on the weekend. The staff actually takes you around and answers allot of questions and sometimes tell you fun stories about each plane.
Not much like it around the city and my kid really enjoyed it. I wish the exhibits were a bit more interactive, especaily for the little guys.
Museum is not very interesting, but people who working there - they are amazing. Very helpful and frendly!
Attended Rememberance Day ceremony here. Very well done.
Great museum. Well kept collection of aircraft and displays
Great place my son loved it. The people were great and the overall place was awesome We just stopped on our way out of Calgary but didn’t expect such a great experience. We learned a few things. Anyone visiting Calgary should go there for sure.
Fantastic place. Volunteers were knowledgable and funny
Really cool and very reasonable prices. Check it out
Staff do not know how to update hours on google or provide hours on voicemail at very least, very upset as it is quite a drive.
Great little museum with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Kids had fun. Lots of things to touch and explore.
The best museum im Calgary, next to the Military Museums in my opinion. The staff are friendly and eager to share stories. Check out the Lancaster... A beauty!
Excellent, well maintained displays of fascinating aircraft from the early days of canvass and wood to jets. The complete Lancaster is particularly impressive!
Very cool place to hang out for an hour or so. I'm a transportation nerd so I definitely spent all afternoon here. The volunteer for the day, Dwight, was very informative and knowledgeable about the planes in the hanger(s).
This place is a great place to visit with kids! It's a mix of educational and interactive. There's an aisle of a WestJet plane that you can sit in. There's a large selection of old planes that you can see, as well as engines of all kinds. We will surely be back! The gift shop is reasonable as well.
Great history lesson for kids. Good variety of equipment.
Incredible display of old airplanes! I took my 4yr old boy here just the other day and it only cost us $10 since he was free :) The moment we walked into the main hangar and my son saw the planes was unforgettable. He just stopped in his tracks and say "wooow, biiiig airplanes!" and then the next 2 hours were spent following him around as he explored both hangars. I gotta say, the Lady Orchid bomber is incredible! The feeling of walking into the tent hangar and being dwarfed by that bomber was amazing. We will be going back for sure!
Really nice place to spend 2 or 3 hours ????????????
What a good father's day to see all the wicked cars there at the old hangers
Very cool! Definitely worth a stop of you like planes or engines of any type.
Only got my pass here but they were awesome
Great classic aircraft you can see up close.
Really good place to visit on father's day
Not quite as cool as Winnipeg's aero museum, but a fun way to spend an afternoon nonetheless.
Excellent place for kids to learn about aviation... great experience
They had an airplane craft booth which my child loved, and it's always cool to see the historical planes and models.
If you love planes, this is the place to be! So many cool and amazing displays. Extremely knowledgeable staff. Dwight, you are the man! Way to point out the woman chief engineer who was in charge of Hurricane project! Thank you!
Great place to learn about the history of aviation in Western Canada. I especially liked the wedding dress made out of parachute, I believe at that time they were silk.
My kids loved it and the staff were very helpful
As owner of A Laptop Shoppe and Being an air force veteran I enjoy this carefully groomed collection of aircraft and related paraphernalia. The souvenir shop is well stocked too. There are some interactive exhibits to enjoy also.
It's good if you've a passion for fighter planes & its details.
Nice place with friendly staff. I was disappointed in the quality and amount of displays available to see. the information on what is their is very through and informative I would recommend this place to people who are air enthusiasts, or just curious about the history of navigation.
An amazing place with hardworking staff
A great many contributions and thoughtful detail have been put into creating a space that not only allows one to see but also to expand their knowledge and understanding of the kind of lives lived and how they were affected as they did their jobs using the planes, helicopters and many other techniques and implements. Very informative and interesting. Well done. Our family of six went Sunday afternoon and were the only visitors on site. We spent approximately 2 hours visiting the facilities. One of our own was very knowledgeable and so added a great deal of expanded information and feel as we toured. Overall a very memorable and enjoyable experience.
Really liked the museum although very small. A very nice old gentleman originally from Ontario, a volunteer, explained interesting things. Just marvelous people. Gift Shops has nice things with reasonable prices. You could spend at least 1 hour and half of fun and learning here, even adults.
Awsome place to take the kids.
Reasonable admission price, tons of parking. Little tricky to get to by public transit though
Great place. Low key. My boy was allowed to sit right in an helicopter and move the controls.
Great place to visit for aviation and history buffs.
Amazing, just go with your family, nice place to see aeroplanes, old ones
I find this place to be a bit boring, but it's good for the kids to learn a bit about Canadian history. I would recommend.
If u like planes friendly people
Really cool place to look at amazing flying machines.
It is a small museum. Good for kids. My son is 5 year old and he enjoyed the visit.
Lots of planes/engines on display.
I love this place! The workers show great attention to history on all of the amazing planes. This place is great for people of all ages. Highly recommended.
Very casual atmosphere where you can wonder through unique displays of Canadian aviation history. Not usually very crowded, but check their schedule for special treats like an inside tour of their Lancaster bomber.
Never knew there was a name change but I like the place. Clean and fundamental exhibits. As an aviation enthusiast, I highly recommend to anyone who wants to have a glimpse at Calgary aviation history.
Really enjoyed it The Wife and I took our 2 daughters there they absolutely loved it. Had a great time there. The set up was very nice the staff is very knowledgeable. All around had a great day!!!
They have a lot of good models, and some large and interesting aircraft and aircraft engines. However if you have been in the last 5 years, absolutely nothing has changed. It's a good spot for Father's day, as they usually bring in some extra entertainment, like police, fire, classic cars and /or other military vehicles and service members
Interesting if you like old aircraft. Staff friendly and helpful. Handicap access is moderately difficult.
Good for a quick little stop, but I would defenetly recommend the military museum over this.
Lots of cool stuff but because of the price probably wont be back for additional visits
my kids loved it here! great stuff for the locals and tourists to visit and experience. Definitely recommended
My husband love it there.
Great experience! Nicest staff!
I loved this place. There we a massive collection of planes, jets and helicopters. In few of them the engines were removed and kept aside so that we could get a better look at them. There was clear documentation available about the items as well as the history of aviation. But the best part is still the staff. They were knowledgable and took the time to explain the things and demonstrate when necessary. I've to emphasis, an excellent place to visit.
Nice staff and great volunteers. Had a great time during Doors Open YYC.
An absolute blast learning about Canada's aviation history, and about Canadian aircraft that was influential in its time!
Has some good aircraft displays. Friendly staff.
What a great time with all the cool Canadian and international history, great way to spend an afternoon
Good selection of aircraft, lots of interesting history given! Could use a little more interaction for children, but very neat stop for the aviation enthusiast. We enjoyed our time there!
Awesome staff and exceptional volunteers, wonderful aircraft. If we didn't have Hal, volunteer exceptional, our tour would have been much shorter.
A very cool museum to check out aircrafts and engines from way back in the day and from WWII. You can walk about the museum and learn about western Canadian aviation. They also showcase different aviation-related artifacts and we were even able check out the interior of some of their aircrafts. Definitely something worth checking out in Calgary!
Fantastic place to visit! Wasn't too busy and lots of cool aircraft and history to see. My 10 year old said it best when he walked in the tent hanger "Woah!"
If you wish to learn about Calgary Alberta's Contribution to Flight. There is no better place then the Hangar Flight Museum to do so. The volunteers are extremely knowledgeable and the exhibits are amazingly well displayed. A GREAT WAY to spend a part of your day, as I have!
Fantastic spot. Love that you can buy tickets online or in person now. Once inside it’s spacious and informative, a mix of old and new exhibits. The kids loved going in and out of the WestJet training cabin, I loved all the engines upstairs. The women’s bathroom is AMAZING with the anteroom. Nursing? Overstimulated? Kids just need a reset? Perfect space. We had snacks on the picnic table outsideunder the helicopter before heading into the tent hangar to see even more.
Good if you're an aviation buff like me, less so for general public (but still interesting). Watch out for children's birthday parties however.
So many different things you can see there
Was hoping to see more and be able to get inside the plains too. Was a little disappointing
Great place if your a grade 6 student or teacher it is an awesome place to field trip. If you at all are interested in Canadian flight history you will love it even more. I'll be back there.
Went for a car show and ended up touring the entire museum. So much to see and do, great for families.
A nice location to visit.
Like places or engines definitely your place. Very informative volunteers definitely spend time with them they have so much information to share. Highly recommended to go with kids as a family day.
Lots of interesting information at the museum.
I had a gr8 tour and was very impressed with the museum exhibits and information ???? i wanna b a pilot one day #inspired
Pretty cool place to wander in even if u are not a plane buff
Nice little spot! Went there as kids, so we decided to take our kids there. Pricing is reasonable, and there is a lot of cool stuff inside. I would like to go back again just to read up on a lot of things. Kids enjoyed it. You can't get in any planes tho like you used to. Perhaps due to covid.
Nice collection, worked out fir me as it has two Aircraft s that Im modelling, so the close up foto shots couldn't have been better timed, all in all I enjoyed it and zi believe most aviation fans will ezpecially like the attached hangar with the Lancaster and DC3
My son loved it, I look forward to going again when the simulator is finished being setup.
This is a great place to discover some aviation history.
Very cool and interesting history!! There are historical airplanes from Canada and Alberta. Had a tour with some very knowledgeable men that gave us awesome information.
It's decent size of aeroplane history museum. Must visit once in life. They got lot number of plane and helicopter inside. Staff was really friendly and gentle as well. You can actually touch the engine and planes.
Love this place. Great history lesson in Canadian aviation.
Lots of interesting things to find. I love planes and helicopters so i am a fan of this place.
They have a good selection of aircraft. Most are of the WW2 to Cold War Era. Loved the cheerful and knowledgable staff. Will be back again!
The museum is very informative. There are volunteers who are willing to give you a tour. I recommend this to every aero enthusiasts. The parking is okay.
Great little museum! Pack a fair bit into a smaller space. Their gift shop even has items worth buying.
Pretty interesting, more so if you care to read the history/details of each airplane and such. 2 sections to the museum. Also has a giftshop.
Various plan to see
Friendly staff, good experience
It is small but nice. We travel it in an hour and a half, but that depends on the pace you want.
Several interesting aircraft including a Lancaster
We love the airplane museum! Watching the movie is a must. The volunteers are super helpful and knowledgeable!
Great facility, very well kept with awesome displays. Lots of parking
Love it here. All of the cross cuts of the powerplants and the Lancaster are highlights
This is a great museum if your into airplanes. This museum is great for all ages. It’s also a place you can go over and over again and still have a great experience. I have been to this museum 2 times and it’s the best. The museum is kept super clean. The staff is amazing because they provided me with lots of knowledge about each plane and it’s history.
A spectacular museum for the whole family!
For me, it wasn't like the one we have at home (Greenwood, NS)
Definitely some great history here and great for a glance in the past to appreciate our history and future.
Simple museum, not a lot there. An interesting assortment of aircraft.
Well displayed and some hands-on items. Compares well with Brandon.
Friendly staff and interesting exhibits.
Pretty nice to have in the city but I find it's not interactive enough for kids. We saw a mock-up cockpit that my son would have loved but it was half hidden away and apparently only available on Father's Day...weird. I realize that kids COULD damage some items but there wasn't one aircraft you could actually go in (not even the back of the DC-3 or Twin Otter). I would say it's more suited to families with kids over 8-9 that are ok with looking and NOT touching or older people.
Some great exhibits and nice people.
It is a nice place to come, walk around and enjoy the aircrafts while listening to the history told by the experts.
Great place to visit, not something you see every day or might ever consider visiting. But add it to your list it is very impressive.
Really neat place! It's very well set up with lots to look at. A lovely look at history.
This place is very informative
Great way to spend a few hours with family visiting from Europe. Proud history we have. Well maintained exhibits worth while going for
Very nice museum. Lots of interesting things to see and read about. Volunteers were very helpful in explaining things about the exhibits.
I practice with Razzamajazz every Monday night. Love this place !
They have facility to host events, cool place.
Great prices lots to see will come back again
Decided on this Venue for a staff event for a larger group of people. It could not have been a better location. All the museum staff are excellent. Herb the events coordinator understood my vision for the evening and was able to assist and made sure all the evenings events were possible while ensuring the safety of the aircrafts and artifacts at the museum. Lighting plays a massive role in creating an environment, Herb arranged an evening walk around with his co worker John. John was also attending the event to ensure it went smoothly for the museum. John was so helpful and allowed me all the time I needed, to run between lowes for spotlights (to highlight the beautiful aircrafts) and the museum for trial runs. I am a micromanager when setting up an event and Herb and John understood the importance behind me wanting to envision every step of the event. I always felt welcome as I prepared the little details. I can not express how wonderful the museum team was to work with. This venue is perfect for a cocktail party, reception ect. It is a beautiful canvas to build your dream event. Thank you to both Herb and John for the time invested in the event and with myself during the planning stage. It was a pleasure.
Good place 2 c old plains.
Very informative. Great place to bring the grand-kids!
Went there for a function, it was very interesting and fun.
Excellent place to see huge planes
Nice staff. Great activities for the kids. We had a sleepover for a group kids, it was fantastic.
Greatly enjoyed my visit enhanced in no small measure by the friendly, knowledgeable guide who filled in the gaps.
We really enjoyed our visit today and look forward to coming back once the Hawker Hurricane arrives!
Went to a birthday party here. It was wonderful!!! Great staff, tasty food and a very interesting place to go anytime.
Awesome hidden gem by the airport. Who kmew so many roads in Calgary are named after historical aviators.
Very Interesting for people who really like aircrafts. Father's Day is $ Fundraiser, for the Museum, so they offer 10 minute helicopter rides for a reasonable $ price. So short a ride that it's not that interesting.
So much history to unveil. We were very lucky to hear lots from very knowledgeable staff. I am most likely going to come again and spend more time learn about the fascinating history of our canadian aviation
Very boring place to be. No activities...at least for kids. My kids(8 and 10) wanted to leave almost immediately. The elevator can only take 2 people.
A great little gem located at the south end of the YYC Airport. Vintage aircraft through jets, and helicopters they have it all. A great place for a couple hours. The volunteers are very engaged and informative about thier museum.
Good to know the history. And gain knowledge that many streets named after pilots.
Came to visit with 3 kids, looked at all the exhibits, which were great. Must have been an off day for staff, seemed like everyone was too busy in some big meeting or playing with RC planes. The guy in the store was just plane (lol) rude. Luckily, the planes themselves (especially the Lancaster) are cool enough themselves to make it a goid trip. Side note: maybe not put kids toys next to the front doors, if you dont want anything touched.
Not busy, easy to find and had cool stuff. Not much for interactive though. That could be because of covid though.
Was here for a private party - very cool venue for events. I want to go back with my kids to show them the great history of airplanes.
Clean and well maintained. Some great collections of planes and related items. Kids loved it and staff were very friendly even though my kids were being rambunctious.
An absolute gem. The staff was so nice. It was an interesting learning experience.
Great information and exhibits. It is not just planes but covers all aspects of flight with a Calgary connection.
Very good presentation, lots of aircraft. The docents are very knowledgeable.
It's a small and nice flight museum to hangout for 2hrs or so. Good to bring young kids here to see some of the old planes.
My teens really enjoyed the place. They say that going there makes them understand more what role Canada and its air force played during world war 2
Enjoyed the exhibits. Wonderful staff & volunteers. Kids enjoyed it
The website said we would be able to get into a plane. No such luck. Not good for young children
Very interesting, if you're not that into planes than it can be a little boring. But really cool to see old planes up close.
Really friendly volunteers let the kids into the helicopter. Museum doesnt have a ton but it is a great place to check out for sure
Great place to bring little kids on a rainy day ! Staff are friendly.
Loved it. The presenters/guides were quite well informed, and could answer all our questions.
Had a fantastic time for fathers day looking at all the dope cars and airplanes
Very nice... learned alot
Good times
Fantastic experience!
great volunteers and staff as well as having beautifully restored aircraft in a historical building.
It's a very large museum and has huge plans in it. I think the boys were a bit too young to truly get into it. Mostly upset they couldn't climb over every one. There was one plane they could go in which was manned by some very kind and knowledgable volunteers. I was told they open up alternating planes and you can check ahead to see which one is open and plan accordingly. I will definitely going back in a couple years when the boys can truly appreciate the size and the history
Lancaster, Lancaster, Lancaster. Says it all, absolutely brilliant place, Just go there.
I know nothing of the institution, but in a way I'm glad they changed their name. Always made me laugh seeing "Aero Space Museum", I'd try focusing on driving past without laughing. Fwits can't even spell "Aerospace"? Lol. Anyway, probably a good visit, if I ever need to be in Calgary again.
My kids loved it. I wish we could've visited on one of their special event days where you can sit in the cockpits, but just seeing lots of aircraft and paraphernalia was fun enough.
Wings and wheels event was so cool! Looking forward to a return visit.
Friendly, helpful and accomodating staff, they will come to greet and chat about what's on display to give additional information to what is already posted.
Very interesting, nice collection of planes, lots of history
Great experience. Staff have provided very confined information pertaining to history of aeroplanes. Kudos to them.
We had a nice afternoon out with our son who loves planes and helicopters. There's a lot of history to explore packed into the two buildings and would recommend for families.
shining yesteryear planes! informative plaques! could use some interaction from staff on each of the aircraft either on static or in repair process in the hangers. left feeling disappointed.
Expensive for what is actually there, but worth the visit.
Took my 3 yr old, he loved looking at the airplanes. You can sit in a helicopter and play around with the controls too.
A nice experience for the whole family.
Need to check this place out when in Calgary. Great display of planes and there lots of info relating. Time to see everything and to stop and read is about 2 hours
Great. Inexpensive museum and little kids go nuts about airplanes. Definately worth the drive if your looking to have your kids wear off some energy and see some cool planes.
Such a great family place to visit. Perfect for all ages! Highly recommend.
Loved the Lancaster!! Also some other neat aircraft too see.
Large enough to be interesting but small enough to stop boredom and wearyness. Interesting and well thought out collection and very informatative.
So much Canadian history. Very displayed.
Great place but only a little disappointed that can't sit in any of the planes.. my kid would absolutely love if he could
Lovely place. Hidden gem.
It was fun and learned a lot.
My son loves this place. People are very welcoming.
This place is Full of knowledge about all air crafts. Best place for those who are interested become a pilot in future.
Very knowledgeable tour guide made the experience much more interesting and fascinating than I had expected the visit to be.
This was the coolest place my family stopped at while we where in Calgary. The staff where very knowledgeable and the variety of aircraft on display was quite impressive.
A very informative group of people working there. It is nice to see customer service again.
Nice collection of old WW 2 planes
A great place to visit if you enjoy airplanes. Lots of history in the building. Great and welcoming staff very friendly
Great experience. A must for aviation passionate
This museum has a lot to offer... If you love aviation and the history behind these early 1900’s air crafts like fighter jets and bombers to helicopters like the bubble chopper seen on the 70’s sitcom M*A*S*H*, you are in for a treat!! An amazing interpretive and historical aviation museum in Calgary, AB is a great tourist attraction for the aviation enthusiast!
So freaking cool! Loved seeing the old lancaster bomber and the yellow Anson!
really cool planes and historical stuff!
